Doughnuts You Should Know in the Seattle Area

"There’s innovative stuff going on up in Mill Creek. Frost does all the standards — even a picture-perfect rendition of Homer Simpson’s famous pink frosted doughnut — but what makes this bakery stand out is the flavors it achieves without having to resort to gimmicks like bacon toppings. The salted caramel version of the old fashioned has an impressive caramel-like chew to it, and the Aztec Chocolate will expand your mind: It’s got real cayenne-style heat that perfectly cuts the richness of the chocolate cake doughnut." - Mark Van Streefkerk, Harry Cheadle

Yelp
Decided to stop by here again as it has been a while since I been here. I got a variety of donuts as well as some macarons. The lady who helped me was really nice and suggested some advice as well as what her favorites are. The place is clean and it has a nice sit down place for people who wants to enjoy their food there. Macarons: the flavors didn't stand out as much for me but the texture was really good. I like the crunch shell and the pillow soft filling. Donuts: my favorite was smoky bacon bar and the Dubai chocolate. I actually really like the cream texture in the Dubai chocolate. The cream in the crueller was good too but the crueller was a little dry in my opinion. Price was very reasonable in my opinion. I got half a dozen and 2 macarons for about $22.

Yelp
Doughnuts: 5 stars Service: 4 stars Ambiance: 4 stars Value: 4 stars The doughnuts are absolutely wonderful. We've been enjoying them for well over a decade. They have a wide and varied selection in addition to the staples. They often change things up. The atmosphere is nice enough. Not super special, but it's nice and clean. Outside seating in the spring and summer can be wonderful and there are shaded walking trails across the street to walk off a few of those calories. (Just watch out for the dog poop. Scraping crap off your shoes is an anticlimactic ending to a nice doughnut outing. It's happened a few times. Not Frost's fault, of course.) The service is always fine. Not over the top great, but polite and friendly. I highly recommend Frost for your doughnut munching needs!

Yelp
Great donut, courteous service and delicious breakfast menu. They have seating so you can dine in as well.

Yelp
Decided to try a local option for breakfast. Frost is known for a great selection of doughnuts, and coffee and is trying to break into the full on breakfast experience. Overall the breakfast burrito was good but the Huevos rancheros.....which was a bit owatered down mess.

Yelp
New go to breakfast stop! Random taqueria with a donut front LOL Parking: Shared parking Pet friendly: No Family friendly: Yes FOOD: 1. Butterfinger Donut: 4 Stars - Of the two donut I had, this was unfortunately #2 but still very yummy. Definitely a butterfinger chocolate bar taste! 2. S'more Donut: 5 Stars - OMG this was so amazing. The marshmallow meringue was legit! Super smooth, fluffy, not too sweet, overall goodness! 3. Frost Bagel Breakfast Sandwich: 5 Stars - Some people like breakfast burrito, some people like Continental breakfast, but nope, I will always get a bagel sandwich. And this one is oh so delicious! The amount of eggs and cheese makes this something else. I will say, it does need hot sauce which they had a lot of options of MENU/RESTAURANT: Super cute place that is a very IG place for photos. The one little random thing about this place is the music. It literally took me a minute to even register what I was hearing since it made me think of a taqueria and what I saw and heard clashed so much LOL There is a huge selection of donuts and macaron that this is definitely a sweet tooth place. For me the savory breakfast is my go-to moving forward. So by that I feel like there is a little thing for each person which is probably not true but true in my book! SERVICE: Amazing Customer Service. From the moment I walked in, to ordering, to waiting, it was great service all around.

Yelp
Cool little spot. I do love this little neighborhood they built where this is located. The barista Nathalie was excellent. I am on a special diet and I had a lot of questions, which she seemed eager to answer. First of all, it was new year's eve, and it was very quiet, but the Christmas decorations were lovely! The coffee was very good, but I ordered something pretty different from what my normal order is, so it's a bit more difficult to compare, HOWEVER, it was very tasty but since I couldn't have the pastries, it was driving me a bit crazy looking at them, because they looked amazing.

Yelp
Employees were super sweet and everything looked so delicious! The flavors were just a tad strong for our liking and it was too sweet for us. We did really enjoy the Boston Cream and Oreo macarons though. I would want to try some of the donuts next time! Decor was very Christmas and super cute (:

Yelp
Donuts togo! Delicious and freshly baked. The service was a bit rushed due to the busy time I assume. It was loud with lots of kids running around. Plenty of free parking near the shop.
google avatar

Nadia K.

Yelp
This place has huge selection maybe too much options to choose from. I usually go there for donut sometimes i get coffee. Every time i go there, their donut tastes different so only time i go there is when I have no other places to go. They have plenty of seats.

Yelp
I was looking to get a gluten free treat and saw that other yelp reviews stated that there were some gf options available at Frost. I went in and asked and the clerk stated that some of the Macarons are GF but she didn't know which ones were. Ended up walking out empty handed.

Yelp
Frost offers such a wide variety of things. From a sit-down breakfast menu such as pancakes and breakfast meats, to plenty of to-go coffee drink options, and on top of that all macaroons and donuts. It's truly a one-stop shop for breakfast and goodies. While it might seem like it's doing too much, and it's hard to find their breakfast menu for a walk-in, everything has been delicious and quick on my trips.

Yelp
Love their donuts. Soft, not too sweet. Well packed, individual wrap. Parking lot nearby. Service is good.

Yelp
Let me start by saying I don't have a sweet tooth, but I loooove Frost doughnuts! The peanut butter Bismarck.... Get real!!! Sooooo good if you are a peanut butter lover. Other favorites are the maple bacon bar, somoa and Oreo doughnuts. My kids are absolutely over the moon when I take them here! I also love that they have good breakfast and brunch foods if you aren't in the mood for sweets, and an espresso bar too. The shop itself is cute and offers trendy picture opportunities. I would vote this one of my fav places to grab doughnuts in snohomish county!

Yelp
FROST is remarkable in its consistency -- in that their doughnuts are absolutely inedible and disgusting each and every time I've given them a shot over the years, thinking I surely must be missing something considering they're still in business and seem to get decent reviews? But without ire or exaggeration, no matter how many times I've tried their donuts (at least three or four times over the course of seven years living in the area), they are consistently oil-logged (and clearly cooked in not-great-quality or not-clean oil) which poisons the flavor of the whole confection, but on top of that, their frosting is too sweet and of a strange, overly thin and untempered consistency for doughnut frosting. The seasoning/actual food flavor of both the oil-logged dough and frosting are deeply lacking, to the point I'd feel confident there is no butter and probably minimal eggs/any fresh ingredient of actual nourishment and flavor in these doughnuts, and that even their piercing sweetness may one from some cheap, industrial form of sweetener (corn syrup, etc). To this day, I can't understand how a place that makes such terrible-tasting food stays in business, or can even stomach selling these items that even McDonald's or Hostess Cupcakes couldn't turn a profit selling.
google avatar

Yasmine H.

Yelp
Great taste but the product wasn't entirely worth the high price for the macarons in my opinion. Especially the Honey Lavender Macaron, which completely sunk and melted as I was walking out of the store on a 60 degree cloudy day; hopefully it's not normally at that consistency. Come early because it gets empty later in the day and options are limited. Overall it was fun to try with a friend, and it makes for a tasty local treat!

Yelp
Terrible. Ordered on line. Got email that my order was ready. I drove to the sore. Found a place to park which is no easy feat around 5pm. Walked a couple of blocks only to find out the place decided to close early. In fact they were closed 2 hours before I placed my order. Toast sucks How do expect to succeed if you don't stay open during your business hours?

Yelp
Frost is a must if you're a fan of donuts. I enjoy the classic maple donut. However, it is nice to try some of their seasonal flavors. I also like their filled jelly donuts especially the raspberry filled. You can also get coffee and macaroons for a little of variety. Frost has a nice open and inviting atmosphere. There is seating so you can have your donut or coffee to stay. The service is warm and friendly. I have always been greeted by the employees.
google avatar

Jeff C.

Yelp
The selection of donuts is very good. The maple bacon bars were tasty but a bit dry. The biscuits and gravy were amazing.
google avatar

Jeff S.

Yelp
I'd been to Frost a dozen times in the last year or so - - this review covers the 3 visits: 1) Today, I ordered 2 maple bars, and they were put in separate paper bags instead of a box. When I got home, the maple topping had stuck to the inside of the bags. Zero stars. 2) The maple bars were obviously left over from the previous day's bake, as they were relatively hard - - I had to microwave them and even then they still tasted stale. Zero stars. 3) I understand that the pandemic has resulted in labor shortages, and employees may have been called in on their day off...that may have been the case today, as she clearly didn't want to be there. A smile and a "good morning" goes a long way. Zero stars Unfortunately, the quality has been poor the last 3 visits and now searching for a donut shop alternative...

Yelp
Got 6 donuts. They were ok. The service was also just ok and the decor was nothing special. I wouldn't pay extra for their donuts or make a special trip out here. Made the order on TGTG app. Parking was easy. It is on the corner end of the Mill Creek center.

Yelp
Another YELP Elite recommendation, confirmed! Even with a lot of selection of macaroons and donuts already gone on this holiday weekend, still enough delicious donuts for New Year's Day breakfast with coffee. Also quite a selection of macaroons for tonight and... definitely want to get there earlier for more selections of both. Great atmosphere just to chill out and visit, drink coffee and enjoy a donut.. or two. Looking forward to coming early, soon and see a greater selection. Happy Yelping and New Year adventures.

Yelp
I came in for breakfast done-in and donuts for takeout. It's been a while since I was here last time. They have started serving a lot more than donuts. Their donuts are one of the best in the area in my opinion. I've been coming here for specialty donuts for quite some time, starting when their small shop was located across from Central market. The donuts are not greasy, with full of unique flavors. They rotate flavors from time to time. My family favorites are bacon maple bars, red velvet, any yeast donuts. I always order more than 1/2 dozen. They make a great gift too! In fact I picked up extra 1/2 dozen today for my daughters friends family. My breakfast plate was huge and really good. The gravy had good flavor, biscuits were crispy and not dense. It came on 2 plates full of food even fruit cup! To mention, there were 2 biscuits and gravy, 3 eggs, a huge ham steak, Potatoes with veggies, a cup of fresh fruits. All for $16. I'd say a lot better than one of those chain restaurants. Now I'd like to try their lunch as well next time. I'm so happy they survived the pandemic and serving even greater food.

Yelp
Very delicious donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate! I ordered the cookies and cream donut while my mom ordered the snickers one and they were both so good, the cream on the cookies and cream one was so soft and not too sweet. The person taking our order was also very nice. The hot chocolate is very nice, usually stores manage to mess it up but they didn't 10/10! Overall 10/10 would come again

Yelp
Did not know Frost sold breakfast I was pleasantly surprised. Eggs to order, usually I had to wait in-line for a restaurant up the street no everybody I see coming in want the doughnuts me too. But this is my dream breakfast.
google avatar

Janet N.

Yelp
I picked up a bag of donuts from FROST spontaneously and it was a great decision! This isn't your basic donut spot. I picked out a Kahlua Baileys whipped crueller, an Aztec Chocolate donut, Boston Cream Bismarck, a Smoky Bacon Maple Bar and Double Chocolate Sprinkle Donut! I was most excited for the Kahlua Baileys whipped crueller for the fluffy whipped inside and it did not disappoint. A bacon and maple bar never goes wrong but the real surprise for me was the Boston Cream Bismarck. I'm not a huge fan of cream filled donuts but this one is worth the hype.
google avatar

Derrick G.

Yelp
This is a good dessert shop. I ordered donuts towards the end of the evening, so they were not very fresh, but the donuts very tasty and filling. The apple fritter and Boston cream filled donuts were noteworthy. I will definitely try this dessert shop again earlier in the day, the donuts were very tasty.

Yelp
DELICIOUS breakfast burritos!! They're packed with egg, bacon, etc and the salsa is amazing! I've only gotten DoorDash from here but every single time the burrito is perfectly made and packaged well. Highly recommend if you're looking for a filling burrito with amazing salsa!
google avatar

Dakota S.

Yelp
Decent selection 11am on a Thursday though not many of the specialty donuts I had been day dreaming of over Yelp pictures for weeks. 4/5 Apple Fritter. Not very crispy but excellent flavor. A perfect blend of apple, cinnamon, nutmeg creating a flavor combo that is hard to stop eating! The cream filled was a solid 4/5. Excellent cream with a good sweet firm frosting, dough was of a pretty good flavor and consistency but a little bread heavy flavor for me. A little oil taste was noted in some bites on both donuts but not super strong, I still couldn't stop eating them!
google avatar

Annie R.

Yelp
We love Frost! We live down in Seattle so it's a little bit of a drive for us however anytime we're up north we always go out of our way to stop by. The donuts are fantastic, I love the apple fritter! Their coffee is also really good! If you haven't been you should definitely check it out.
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered delivery through Frost for a quick little breakfast and decided on the breakfast croissant sandwich. It was a pretty good breakfast sandwich. The croissant was fluffy, with a whipped egg and bacon. The breakfast sandwich was missing some flavor though. The side of potatoes were well cooked, but again missing another level a flavor. I also ordered the red velvet donut and that was DELICIOUS! The donut was very moist with a swirl of cream cheese frosting.
google avatar

Kayla P.

Yelp
The donuts at Frost are delicious, my favorite was the andes mint donut! They are definitely on the pricey end of donuts, our 6 donuts plus a milk was about $25. We took our donuts home, but it was cute and there were quite a few tables inside that people sitting at.
google avatar

Gina M.

Yelp
We've been here a few times over the years since they opened at their original and smaller location in the mill creek Towne center. Ambiance: big spacious but almost seems a bit too vacant. It could use a more welcoming touch even more seating so you don't feel like you're in a warehouse Food: coffee is decent. Macaroons are good and more chewy than traditional and I like that. Fav donuts: Apple fritters and white chocolate raspberry and of course their maple bacon donut Pricing: they are "gourmet" donuts so don't expect to walk away w a doz for $7 like your would w the local grocery store. Great to buy a doz for special occasions or gift or go on for special coffee n donut w a friend.
google avatar

Christin S.

Yelp
Nothing special. Donuts aren't the best but there's plenty of seating which is nice to sit around and study or chat
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
This shop is overpriced. Doughnuts are big but doughy and heavy making you feel gross afterwards. Coffee is meh. Couldn't even finish it. Next!
google avatar

Joey J.

Yelp
Really great bakery with plenty of doughnut options. Also serve a long list of beverages. Space is big, located in mill creek town center. Will definitely come back!

Bruce B.

Yelp
Donuts were stale and dense. I took a bite of three different ones and threw the whole box away. What a waste of $35. Way too expensive for crappy old stale donuts. They dont serve sandwiches anymore and the employees barely speak English, then wanted a 15-35% tip for boxing stale donuts. No service was provided and I was over charged for expired food, why on earth should I pay an extra $10 for being insulted with stale bread. In case I don't mention it, they were stale.

Asia N.

Yelp
I ordered from this place on DoorDash. I was super excited to try this new restaurant and their breakfast items and was very disappointed to see some of my things were missing. I then called frost and the lady on the phone didn't really seem to care about how my stuff was forgotten. She let me know that they forgot to hand some sort of slip to my dasher and didn't get the drinks to her. I asked is there something we can do and they recommended that I drive all the way down there to come pick up my drinks. Which is RIDICULOUS, what was the point of a delivery if I have to come pick it up anyways? I then asked is it possible for them to send it to me and then they asked me to contact my driver for them to pick it up and drop it off all over again requiring me to pay for a 2nd tip. I am so wildly disappointed, please keep track of your things and make sure everything gets to your customers.
google avatar

Jayde L.

Yelp
Literally got just chunks of potatoes and the whole reason I chose this place was because of the potatoes with bell peppers and onions. I could've gotten hash browns/plain potatoes from anywhere. Not to mention they were so salty They weren't even edible. Also what's up with the pink whipped cream on my Redbull Italian soda? I asked for vanilla raspberry and I received a vanilla RBIS with I'm assuming raspberry whipped cream? I called and Alan said that I could come in tomorrow and get the potatoes made correctly but I don't think I'll have time for that which is why I ordered this today when I had time. Really irritating.

Larry W.

Yelp
I had not been to Frost since COVID arrived. I wanted to celebrate an event with a business I was using. On Wednesday night I placed an order for a dozen donuts and pastries paying online. I arrived at Frost for my 10:30am pickup and no one was aware of my order. The clerk pulled a notebook and found it in there. She filled a box and I left. The items I ate were dry and not very flavorful. I had a maple bar and it was very dry and flavorless. I brought home an Oreo Chocolate Cake for my wife and she threw it away after two bites. Frost has lost the recipe they once had and they have lost our business.
google avatar

Rachell H.

Yelp
I had a seasonal donut, lucky charm one, absolutely scrumptious!!! There was only one lady working and she was so amazing! Hustled and was still so kind even tho she was all by herself! Thank you for a great experience!
google avatar

Jay T.

Yelp
Totally worth the hype and rating. Fabulous dessert place. Picked up donuts and macrons recently, that too in the evening. Top quality and Delicious! Loved it! Have to mention the macrons - I asked their suggestion to pick a few random flavors. I picked up their favorites. Oh yeah, they are favorites for a reason. Staffs are awesome, super friendly and helpful. Will visit again! My new fav donut place! Yay!
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
One of my favorite donut shops! This place has been around for years and is still one of the best donuts to get north of Seattle. They have a lot of specialty/premium donut flavors depending on the season. If you're not interested in donuts, they also sell macaroons and cupcakes.

Eloisa A.

Yelp
Food was ok. Ordered the breakfast burrito and croissant egg sandwich.the potatoes were still hard and it was flavorless.
google avatar

Shaida H.

Yelp
First time in Frost. Had lots of seating and inventory and located in the town center. They sell macarons and doughnuts in their cases and also have a breakfast and lunch menu. I ordered a birthday cake macaron and 2 donuts, glazed raised and French crueller. Their donuts are lightly glazed. The French cruller had a bit of a crunch to it and tasted like a funnel cake. The macaron was okay, probably wouldn't order again. I don't think I would drive from Kenmore to Mill Creek to visit again but seems to be a good spot in Mill creek for something sweet.
google avatar

Kayleigh M.

Yelp
Please update your Yelp. You don't serve cupcakes! Just doughnuts. And breakfast? Odd spot. Bring back the cupcakes!
google avatar

Jay B.

Yelp
Because of the hype around it, and the fact that it looks like a treat/pastry place, I assumed I wouldn't like it. I was wrong. I liked it, a lot. I ordered the farmer's platter. Had 2 macrons while I waited. I'll be back.

Bob G.

Yelp
Ordered an apple fritter. Ok you do business in Washington... the apple capital of the world. Put some apple in the APPLE fritter. Sheesh. Tasted like cinnamon dough..forgot the apples.come on man.
google avatar

Yelp
Alan is a SUPER STAR ambassador at FROST. He was more than helpful when I called in a short notice large donut order. My son's birthday party was that day. I felt stressed but excited to celebrate. The kindness and professionalism I encountered from Alan needs to be recognized. Good employees are hard to find, as an example of his outstanding attitude and customer service....this young man even helped me with the door. Thank you again buddy for the fresh delicious donuts, they where a huge hit!! Can't wait to comeback to try an amazing breakfast or lunch!
google avatar

Yelp
Over priced donuts for the quality and flavor. First attempts To be a boutique style donut shop that falls short on delivering a boutique style donut. Price vs the quality donut you receive doesn't match. They do have some unique donuts however didn't do anything for me and my family.
