First of all, I'm from the west coast. It's hard to find donuts I really like on the East Coast just because donuts are done differently on the different coasts. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that Frosty's will hit every single nostalgia vibe for you whether you're from the East Coast or the West. The cake donuts are so buttery and soft, some of the best I've ever had! My husband said it was literally the best thing he had ever had. The twisty donut was perfectly fluffy and delicious. the vibes were incredible with the old work rules signs, old coke fridge and original signs. You HAVE to check this place out.

The owners and workers were so kind and helpful, and the donuts are quite literally the best cake donuts I’ve had in my entire life. We had friends from the west coast with us, my partner is from the Midwest, and I’m from NY and we ALL agreed these were to die for. Highly recommend even if there is a line.

Seriously the friendliest donut shop in Maine. Make sure to get there early or risk missing out on some great flavors. The Jamaican me crazy cold brew is delicious as well. We definitely have added this to our list of places to stop every year.

My family and I love coming here to get donuts and bagels. Best garlic bagels ever!!!! Their donuts are huge, delicious, and super fresh. Check them out, you will love it.

Driving down Maine street on our way out of Brunswick ME we happen to spot Frosty’s Donut Shop out of the corner of our eye. Knowing you should never pass up the chance to enjoy a donut from some place “new-to-you”, we immediately rerouted and headed back to give them a try. We knew something was up when we saw the seating area was full and there were about 7-8 people in line. The line moved quickly though and before we knew it, we were placing our order. They were out of cinnamon rolls which bummed me out but there were many other options so it was no big deal. There were four of us and we purchased a twisted glazed roll covered in cinnamon sugar (suggested by the cashier, who also happened to be the owner), a maple cake (my favorite), a pumpkin spice, a chocolate coconut, a frosted chocolate, a Bavarian cream, and a glazed donut. We are from Springfield MO and have a donut shop there called St. George’s, that has been serving up the best donuts ever, since 1971. Today we discovered an equally good donut shop. All i can say is Wow, those were some of the best donuts we’ve ever eaten. Frosty’s cake donuts were super moist and the different icings/toppings were delicious. The yeast donuts were light and fresh. We scarfed down every last crumb and could have eaten more but they were running out of donuts. Just as soon as we had placed our order, people started pouring in and the line swelled to about 15 people. It never went down from that point on. Every time someone left another person would come get in line. They are that good. We were so impressed we even bought souvenir t-shirts. All four of us! We give Frosty’s a five star review. If you are visiting Brunswick ME make sure you get by Frosty’s for a donut.

The location is set in the quaint town of Brunswick. This cute donut shop is what keeps people coming back! Fresh made pastries and old school milkshakes are the best things this location offers. The drip coffee is a bonus and hits the spot! The donuts are delicious and flavorful! The milkshakes were frosty and filling! The lady that worked the register and served the drinks was punctual and kind. 10/10 go to this spot, and get there early to get the best voice of the selection!!!

Some of the best donuts in all of maine. The long johns were light and yesterday with plenty of glaze. The owner is so nice. Cute shop. Went in in the afternoon and the owner gave us 5 extra donuts that were still available, after ordering 3. Delicious donuts on main street in brunswick. Usually they are closed and sold out by the afternoon, but luckily for us not today. Been to the one that used to be in gardiner and it was fantastic, but cuz of covid, gone. Awesome people.

Here for national donut day - although I must say that when it comes to a Frostys donut - everyday is donut day! Love how quick the team deals with the line, love seeing how they take care of little ones with special donuts and more.

If you think you don't like donuts, you must give Frosty's a chance to prove you wrong. Their chocolate donut with glaze is the holy grail of donuts. Light, sweet, delicate chocolate flavor. What better way to celebrate national donut day?

We went again and once again, best donuts I've ever had. I'm sensing a theme here... (the coconut donut was the unexpected best one we tried this time)

Upon walking in, noticed it was very clean. I also appreciated the salesman skills the man at the counter had. Extremely nice and funny. We got donuts, scones and fritters. Everything we tried me liked. I also think the prices are reasonable for the size of the donuts. Definitely a repeat customer.

Frosty's. The best. Hands down. Every year we come up to visit we make a trip! This year we were here when it was national donut day! We celebrated with a dozen twists. Great family run business. Always welcome you with a smile!!

Stopped here for an ice coffee and a donut on a beautiful Saturday! The donut was soooo good, I got the blueberry glazed and the people I were with got a maple and a chocolate glazed and they were impressed too. The coffee was spot good. Such a cute coffee shop with amazing donuts!

Seriously and without exaggeration these donuts are killer. No cap. The frostings, fillings, and everything in between are homemade. The raised donuts are our favorite. The strawberry tastes like butter, but strawberry. The owners are super friendly and nice. The service is fast - even with long lines. It's all worth it. We sometimes eat in and it's pretty quiet with comfy chairs.

I just had the most delicious raised honey dip cruller. It brings back memories of when I was a child. I've been looking for the texture for all these years and they are the ones. Go there. Nice ambiance, helpful and nice people.

There are all kinds of donuts, and then there are Frosty's Donuts! A business staple in Brunswick since 1965.They are made with that combination awesome sauce of dedication to the craft, homespun goodness and just plain Yumminess! Selections are cake, glazed, filled, fritters, etc. All are fresh and delicious, and boy do they sell out quickly. Each bite is fresh, with textural notes including pillowy, crunchy, perfectly sweet and again that yum factor! Fresh coffee is available, locally sourced by Wicked Joe's, the perfect accoutrement. The owners Nels and Shelby are fabulous. They are welcoming and very generous, always throwing in a few extra donuts to say thank you for your patronage. Highly recommend!

Donuts the right way! Friendly staff and the aroma of fresh donuts. Frosty's is a true gem with "melt-in-your-mouth" fresh pillows of love. I love the simplicity yet welcoming storefront and interior. You are always greeted with smile that comes from the heart. Once you taste their donuts, you will understand why there is usually a line or they sell out.

Delicious donuts and bagels! We had a focaccia Asiago bagel and it was so good! Light and airy, but in a way that totally worked for a bagel! The blueberry maple donut was also very good. Despite a long line, service was quick and friendly!

There was a little donut shop where I grew up in Pennsylvania and I've looked for years to find something similar to the taste of the donuts I grew up with. Frosty's is the closest I've ever found!! The donuts are a little pricey ($2.20-2.45 a donut) but they are HUGE and you are paying for quality. The glazed twists are perfect. I'd say more but there's no need- perfection. My favorite is the raised chocolate ring. Thick fluffy cake donut, chocolate that is just sweet enough without being overpowering. Additionally, I said how excited I was too be back for the first time post pandemic and the owner gave me an extra Donut!! It's a small gesture but it meant a great deal to be as this feels like a small slice of home. I wish I could give 6 stars!!

Worth the drive! We went here on the way out of town which was about a 45 minute drive. We arrived around 930 on a Saturday morning and luckily found the line to be short. Service was great and patient. We got 4 donuts and coffee, and they threw in 2 mini fritters. The donuts were so delicious. My favorite was the raised with chocolate icing!

Frosty's donuts are excellent. But what made our visit special was the option to customize a doughnut. My children were delighted to pick their flavors, frostings and toppings. What they came up with isn't something I would've chosen, but they loved them. Our visit to the donut shop was more than just getting a treat. It was a fun experience.

Best donut shop in the world. Not overpriced yuppy junk by Duck Donuts and Voodoo Donuts, but traditional great classic donuts like twists, glazed, Boston Cream, etc. Most highly recommended !! five stars

Donuts were good but personally I did not think they were particularly special. I did not try the coffee. Cute little spot, though I'm unlikely to return. Wish donut shops made jelly sticks these days-- so hard to find them!

Nearly every place on Main Street opens around 11 am. Yet the foot traffic to this donut shop was enough to pull me in. The staff was so very friendly and knowledgeable. The decor is cute w/ the classic red and white stripes. This place hands down beats Holy Donut. For the same order (chocolate milk and two donuts), Frosty's was $3 cheaper and the quality of their donut shines. A light outer crunch and a soft interior for BOTH the yeast and cake donut. NOT greasy at all. Glaze is THICK and not too sweet. It's exactly what you want out of a donut. Would recommend and will come back for a quick dessert breakfast.

These are some of the best doughnuts I've ever had! Chocolate cake was moist and delicious. A real step up from standard cake Small fritter was perfect. I only wish they did not have such limited hours during the spring, Friday- Sunday. I really wanted to come back for an old fashioned and/or buttermilk which they did not have when I was there. If you love doughnuts this is a must visit!!

So good!! We've passed this place for 4 years and this am decided to go in and grab a donut. OMG what took us so long? Hands down the best donuts in the area!!! Service was friendly and fast, but man they could've been mean and slow and i'd still go back for those donuts!

Another wonderful trip to Frosty's on the way home to NJ. Got a late start and almost missed out, they close when they sell out. I had the raspberry jelly with vanilla cream sandwich donut, which was amazing!! All the donuts were wonderful as always. Make sure you get there early or they will sell out of your favorite.

I can honestly say that of the many donut shops I've had the chance to visit, nothing comes close to Frosty's. Not only is the donut amazing (my personal favorite is their Boston Cream - it's a circle of pure creamy/chocolatey perfection), but the shop is very cozy and the staff extremely polite. BIG thanks to the owners for providing so many smiles from me and my family while we were in Maine.

SO GLAD we stopped in. The man who helped us was incredibly attentive and thoughtful to us as customers despite the long line behind us. Service made us feel cared for and welcomed rather than rushed. He asked if the coffee color was good (enough almond milk), if taste was sufficient (asked for a pump of hazelnut), AND was attentive to describe the donut ordering system. We lucked out that a fresh batch of blueberry glazed was made just in-time for our order and he made sure we got it. Tons of foot traffic in and out of this place and I understand why. Not much space as it is small and cute, but plenty of people left with boxes of delicious donuts!

Great donuts and nice staff. Tried vanilla sprinkle cake and tasted just like a powdered donut. Which is weird considering no powder on it. Chocolate glazed cake tasted like a brownie. Twist was best and how a normal glazed donut should taste. Similar to what I get back home. Maple glaze was good. Maple glaze pumpkin was ok not my thing. Blueberry fritter was huge and good and messy. Lemon and raspberry filled were ok. Ras was better. Really went for a blueberry donut but they didn't have any :( Cute town. Glad we stopped on way to airport.

These donuts are incredible...but NOTE: they are on a "winter break" as of 12/23/22 with no sign as to when they will reopen (I'm writing this on 1/7/23).

Food: There's a pretty standard variety of donuts. All that I've tried (glazed twist, chocolate frosted, Boston cream, lemon filled, raspberry filled) are yummy. The only downside was that the chocolate frosted donuts were next to the maple donuts and the chocolate frosting absorbed enough maple flavor to be easily noticeable. That's not a problem if you like maple but i'm not a fan so just watch out for what flavor is next to your donut. Staff: The staff here is very nice and sometimes they will even give you free donuts on top of whatever you ordered if they made more than they are likely to sell by days end. Ambience: It's a small shop with a few small tables and chairs.

Some of the best donuts I've had outside of Boston. The apple fritter is sublime as are the classics. Blueberry, glazed etc!

Reviewers often talk about giving half stars or 0 stars or negative stars. I wish we could give more than 5 stars. Frosty's Donuts is excellence supreme! On both visits, service at the counter was extremely polite, friendly, and welcoming. I could see there were few donuts on display in the afternoon but had to inquire about the twisty donuts and other flavors. The girl at the counter was very sweet and apologetic about what was left. I can't blame anyone. I ended up with a blueberry donut and was blown away so much that I planned to return before leaving the area. On my second visit, I had another blueberry, a twist donut, and a Boston Cream. Easily the best donuts I have ever had and that is even compared to Back Door Donuts on Martha's Vineyard, where I had been a few days before and where lines form before the store even opens. Frosty's Donuts are fresh, flavorful, and have a wonderful pillowy texture. Service was incredible on both times. I can't explain how much I would be likely to return if service was good and food was only ok, but here, service and food were exemplary. I didn't know it at the time, but I was taking pictures of the display and caught the male owner in the picture as he was placing a fresh batch of twist donuts. He came to talk with me for a few seconds and was good natured about getting in the picture. The hours gave me a little bit of concern as I was rushing to get back to Portland for a train to Boston but they were open at 7 at least the morning we showed up.

LITERALLY the best donuts I have ever had. I have had donuts from everywhere...they are my favorite food...and I'm telling y'all they're the best donuts I have ever had. Nells and his family and the rest of the staff are so kind and make you feel at home. The glazed twists are a must, the coconut cream is exceptional as well as the double chocolate. But all of them are incredible you cannot go wrong. Do yourself a favor and go to Frosty's. Also an adorable location right on Main Street in Brunswick which is hard to beat.

Was in Brunswick and thought I'd stop at Frosty's Donuts. To my surprise, the building is now occupied by another business! I tried calling and phone disconnected! Don't know what happened!!

By now you all know I love avoid doughnut. This place was recommended to me by another area chef. Super cute place with friendly staff. We bought an assortment of the 25 or so flavors they had. The blueberry cake donut was the most blueberry donut that a donut has ever blueberried, fantastic!! The yeast doughnuts were light and fluffy. The chocolate glaze made me sad for all the mediocre doughnuts out there. The only downside I can think of is, I think I'll never be able to settle for donuts from anywhere else ever again. They're only open Friday through Sunday, get there and get there early, you'll be glad you did. I'll be back soon.

Wow, what a nice find. Their donuts are amazing. Cute little restaurant area to enjoy your coffee (which is delicious) and donuts. My hubby got the Chocolate coconut. I wanted a plain coconut but they said they didn't make those. They told me to hold on a minute; they had just made a batch of old fashioned donuts and they made a coconut donut for me. It was warm, and melt in your mouth delicious. I went back the next weekend and they had 1/2 dozen plain coconut donuts on the shelf. I bought them all, yum! I will be back!!!

It's a crazy-busy Saturday and I went in to order some donuts for a patient whose birthday is this week (I'm a hospital chaplain). The young woman who helped me could not have been nicer. She recommended yummy things and never made me feel rushed. She was, at the same time, super efficient and finished my order is good time. The huge line kept moving. This is an obviously well-run place. Thank you! You have started my day off well and you will make all the difference to the patient and hue care team (I know she will share). 100/10 would recommend!

So this is another example Yelp gave us bad info. Yelp claimed Frosty's opened at 5:30 so naturally at this point we have learned to call ahead. We called and the gentleman answered and said not all of his doughnuts are out yet but he'll get us squared away. So we go.... the window said they didn't open until 7 I believe. A little foggy now on the opening time. Either way the gentleman let us in, we tried 6 doughnuts. He threw in an extra twist and we were on our way. We liked the doughnuts..... the glazed blueberry was our favorite. The doughnuts kinda reminded us of DD when they were fresh made on site. Good doughnuts, nice guys. Give this place a shot.

If you're going to eat fat pills, these are amazing. So much better than the big chains. Don't come if you're on a diet.

I was sure we had posted a review on Frosty's? I was wrong. These are hands down the best donuts in Maine. What more can be said. The plain glazed and old fashioned glazed are my favorite but you need to find yours!

Best donut shop I've been to! The donuts are delicious and not too pricey and the service is impeccable - perfect place if you're looking for a donut or bagel or a friendly face!

Not just a great place for donuts. A great place for bagels. We will have to make several trips to enjoy all the wonderful treats this place has to offer.
