Frosty’s Griddle and Shake

A Perfect Old-School Burger Spot Frosty’s on St. Simons Island has become one of my favorite places to grab lunch, especially on Sundays. It has that classic 70s–80s hamburger-joint feel—nothing fancy, just good food, good music from the local radio station, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to come back. The Frosty Deluxe Burger is my go-to. It’s consistently delicious, cooked just right, and genuinely one of the best burgers around. Their crispy crinkle-cut fries are the perfect match—hot, crunchy, and exactly what you want next to a great burger. And the shakes? Outstanding. Thick, smooth, and always made well. The service is another huge reason I love Frosty’s. There’s a lady who often works the counter on Sundays—unfortunately I don’t know her name—but she is always incredibly kind and welcoming. She sets the tone for the whole place. Every visit, the service has been fast, friendly, and consistently great. If you’re looking for a classic, no-nonsense burger place with great food, great people, and a nostalgic vibe, Frosty’s is exactly where you want to be. Highly recommended!

I love this place! Such an awesome spot to get a great root beer float. Everything has the 70-80s feel (music, posters, tables). Haven’t tried the food, but I’m sure it’s great. They also have an old sit down arcade machine which I could spend a whole day playing at!

Fluffernutter hurricane frosty is so worth trying AND returning for. Staff is polite. Eating area & bathrooms are clean. This is a kid friendly, family friendly lunch counter.

I can only speak about the milkshake because that’s all I had. I went specifically to get a shake because of a recommendation from a friend. I WILL go again. Two shakes were just under $15. I had a traditional vanilla shake. It was a hefty serving and I enjoyed every drop. I left with nostalgic feelings of childhood after that old fashion shake.

Pretty sure I got mild food poisoning after eating here. Burger was extremely charred. Knew I shouldn't have eaten it but did because I was hungry Sunday. Have not had anything solid come out of me since (it's tuesday). Kitchen also looked a bit gross but that may have been bad lighting. Staff was kind and didn't cause any problems.

Food was good and pretty clean establishment. Service was ok but took a couple trips to the counter to get food that wasn't delivered. I'm sure we will be back.

Frostys Came in today after a 2-year hiatus. Hoped the time away would’ve allowed for improvement. Nope. How disappointing. Front of house guys seemed more concerned with their phones than customers. Place was dead. 20 minutes after ordering, I saw our food come up and after a few minutes went up and asked for it. The advertised Frosty sauce was barely present on overcooked frozen burger patty. French fries overcooked. AC unit dripping water on multiple tables and looks like it’s about to fall through ceiling. As we left, we saw at least four meals just waiting in pass through window. $28 for two “deluxe” meals with drinks…. Could’ve got a much better burger experience down the street two blocks. Will do next time. Bummer as it’s the same food and staff quality issues as two years ago. I see other people raving about the burgers… maybe the staff is different on a Sunday, so definitely done go on a Sunday.

Very strange experience. Only ordered 2 soft serves in cones. Took close to 15 minutes to get them and not that many people in this place. Soft serve was soggy, runny, and just plain meh….came to $12 for two soft serves in cones!! First and last time ever visiting this place, too wierd and bad service.

YUM! The line is long for a reason. Such a great milkshake. I wish I could have gotten a full meal because everything looked so good. Everyone was really kind behind the register too. Highly recommend in SSI!

Everyone called this the place where the locals eat so we had to try it. It was just an OK burger. It seems really tired and dated and not in a cool vintage way. Service was fine for an order at the counter restaurant. Probably won't go back.

What a cute little spot! The adorable building looked like an old house or previous restaurant. While visiting the island, we stopped here for a quick shake. We loved them. They were rich and creamy. I saw they offered diner food and thought everything looked delicious coming out of the kitchen. There were a ton of teens hanging out there. It seemed so sweet, almost like we were in the middle of a Hallmark teen coming of age movie. So cute. The staff were young too. They were all very nice and helpful. The whole vibe was sweet and innocent. I will definitely return on my next visit to the island.

Regular, old fashioned cheeseburgers are my favorite and are hard to come by in restaurants anymore. Frosty's has em though and they're GOOD. The bun is so soft and savory and the toppings were all fresh and crisp. The onion rings were delicious as was the ranch (I hate it when restaurants have bad ranch). My husband got a strawberry shake too and it was delicious. I will definitely be back soon and often. The lunch time special for 10 bucks is a great deal! Lastly, Peter was extremely friendly and welcoming.

Great diner with a throwback feel for sure! I ordered the Frosty deluxe cheese burger all the way with cheese fries to-go. I made sure to ask for the cheese sauce on the side so my fries stay nice and crispy. When I first walked in the front counter gentleman was on his phone so I had to let him know I was ready to order but he made it a simple and easy experience once I got his attention. I only had a 3 minute drive back to my airbnb and my burger was cold and the bun wasn't warm either but the taste overall for the burger was pretty good. The Frosty sauce is kind of like awesome sauce the front counter gentleman explained. The fries were your basic crinkle fry order and the white cheese sauce on the side was not bad. I would like to try the ice cream next time I visit! Definitely recommend this place for families the prices were not too bad here! Make this a stop on your travels!

This looks like an old diner from the outside. That's what caught our eye. We decided to have milk shakes. Hubby had flavor of the day blueberry, I had strawberry they were thick, rich, and delicious. Not sickening sweet, but smooth and very flavorful. Yes, it's $7 bucks. It's worth every penny.

Great little burger & shake joint that seems like an old school drive in but it's only been open a few years. Delicious, made to order food that was delivered in a timely fashion. The winners of the night were the shakes, especially the Samoa cookie shake.

Really cool place to visit! Fast food made to taste! Plenty of shake and floats (Cheer-wine)! Easy to get in and out right off the main strip

If you're in such a hurry you can not wait they do cook this during that time so it's not a ready in a minute item. Even so it's fairly quick and always fresh hot and juicy This is a great location not far from the beach Sometimes I like to get a milkshake here as a treat Old fashion spin on a brazier walking distance to nearby the pier , beach, ballparks, pickle ball and a playground Enjoy locally owned fast food They've a shrimp salad Onion rings as Well as burgers too

I've tried and tried and just can't any longer. I didn't like this place at all. My husband and son love the shakes and burgers. All I was hoping for was a chocolate and vanilla twist cone. Twist means, well, twist. It doesn't mean plop that crap on top of a cone and hand it off as if that's ok. This is every time. So, I've been patient and waited to have a miraculous turn-around. NOPE! This last visit was the end for all of us. 1) no chocolate. What?! 2) no marshmallows. Seriously?! 3) we only had one order left for them to let us down with and it happened at the window when we were completely ignored. Just sat and waited and nothing. This is the off-season! There is no excuse and I'll never be back. We will never be back. Bring back Dairy Queen to replace this sorry excuse.

Awesome spot for a great burger and shake. The epitome of an old school joint that is locally owned. Staff was super friendly. The no frills burger was cooked to perfection and I would put it up against some of the fancier and pricier spots on the island. Onion rings were lightly battered and had great flavor. Definitely will be back and bring visitors.

Fun little local shop. Tasty burgers and love the low key vibe. We are from out of town but definitely on our list to eat again when we come back.

Service was slow, lost our order had to re order. Bunch of young kids don't know what they're doing.

Stopped in for a cone. Heard 80's music, saw a tabletop arcade game and pinball machine so decided to order a double burger as well. All was tasty and a good vibe. Staff looked like local teens who were polite and seemed very hard workers. Would recommend.

I ordered the fish sandwich and it came out completely raw inside. Which doesn't make sense since I had to wait 15 minutes at the window for it. I get that it's not fast food, but if you're going to take the time at least cook it through!

It's a bit pricey in my opinion, but so worth it!! The chocolate milkshake is to die for.

It's decent food, I suppose. But every time I go through the drive thru it's 15-20 minutes for a single burger. A couple times I've had to go in and be like bro wtf, then it's another ten minutes

Amazing. Nothing flashy just and old school tasty freeze with great tasting food. Coca-Cola Float is a must.

$17+ for two chili cheese slaw dogs and an order of fries is a bit much. The queso cheese was a nice touch and better than the American cheese version. We tried the burgers on another occasion, and they were pretty decent, too.

Stopped in to try Frosty's for the first time. Left much to be desired! $9 for four tiny chicken tenders is unbelievable. Also had very "basic" cheeseburger that was not very flavorful, and the onions rings tasted like they had been sitting all day. Not worth the $30 for a burger, onion rings, chicken tenders and 2 drinks.

I've really enjoyed everything I've gotten. Yum if you're in the mood for fast food that's actually good.

Good burger food for family after a day at the beach. Good quality food and well priced. The place is well decorated with antique radios all over the store. It's a really fun place to eat. The service is uncomplicated and friendly. Staff is eager to help, attentive, and gets your food out tasting great. Highly recommend.

We headed over for a trip to our favorite BBQ spot Southern Soul and immediately saw something was up when the usual lunch crowd wasn't there. Indeed something was up and they were doing some remodeling and were closed. We began poking around for another place to eat and found Frosty's. We were really glad we did. They are an old style burger joint and we crushed their burgers and fries. They also have foam cups for you to enjoy your ice cold Coca-Cola, not those garbage paper cups that some folks have switched to. We even grabbed a pimento burger for the road and some ice cream. Now when we make the drive over we'll have to decide if we want burgers and ice cream or BBQ. This was a great find with good food, friendly service and fair prices.

We wanted to find a new place, as opposed to hitting another fast food place that's available everywhere. I came across this restaurant and knew we had to try it! It is very casual, and offers dine in or takeout. It's relatively fast, compared to most places that offer dine in. It has a very retro vibe, and is cozy feeling! Both kids had a hot dog and some fries that they were both happy with. My husband ordered a standard cheeseburger and onion rings which he said were good. I ordered a Greek salad, which I was reluctant to do... as I assumed it wouldn't be very good. It was delicious! They weren't skimpy on the serving, either! My only complaint about it was that it was served in a very small container, making it impossible to actually mix it without spilling some of it. After we finished, we decided to enjoy some cones. We ordered small cones, but they were HUGE. I asked the waitress what the large looked like as I couldn't believe how big the small was! Ultimately, it was a great visit! The prices were great, they offer military discounts, and came to check on us regularly! 10/10 recommend this place!

Excellent in every way! Excellent hotdogs, excellent hamburgers, excellent milkshakes! Friendly service! And the decor is a great throwback to the 70's and 80s!

Ten thumbs up! After walking away from another restaurant for waiting too long, we came here. Our party of six got burgers, fish sandwich and BBQ sandwich- fries and shakes for under $60!! We all were very impressed. The BBQ sandwich was the best we had had in awhile and the shakes were delicious. The next day the boys went back for lunch. Wouldn't be surprised if we went there again before our trip was over. A must go.

AWFUL! Rude staff, dirty inside and took over 30 minutes for ice cream when guts were standing around doing nothing. Never again! $40 and the gas station would be better. Don't go!

The drive-through guy was not on it. He wasn't working very hard and he got our order wrong. We said Rocky sauce on the side and they put it in the burger. Anna my dad ordered a milkshake without a cream and a cherry, but they put whip cream in the cherry. and I asked for the peppers on mine, but they didn't do it, and the guy nodded his head, but never put it on the milkshake. Other than that this place is really good. The food taste really good.

It's a cute place but the kid at the counter wasn't very friendly. Our twist cones were pretty melty and they're more ice milk than ice cream as they're not very creamy and had ice particles in it. I can't say anything about any of the other food though as we just got dessert.

Ordered a hamburger. It was cooked to the point of being burnt. Tasted nasty and will never go back. I believe they fried this burger up twice.

I got the key lime frosty and it was amazing highly recommend. Definitely coming back.

Grabbed a hot dog at the drive through as a mid afternoon snack. Got it dressed up with onions, ketchup, mustard, and a couple packets of relish on the side. I thought the hot dogs were so delicious! The buns and franks were buttered and toasted to perfection. Just the right amount of condiments. It cost me about six bucks for two hot dogs. I would come here again in a heart beat!

Nope just nope. Not clean. You'll catch more then Covid here. No masks at all from patrons ordering inside!!! Staff - wearing masks on their chin while making frostys and food!!!!!!!!!! Breathing on everything Food - eat the leaves outside, might taste better

They are serving food inside but for the moment I am ordering through the drive through. They do have a nice place to sit outside to eat . They have a beyond burger that is amazing . They also change up their ice cream choices!

This was a freezing amazing threat, I ordered a strawberry milkshake and they added fruity pebbles (Mind Blown!!!!!!) amazing staff, and thankful that my friend Griffins,Yaabaaa dooo ....Oh and their Malts are to die for.

No surprise that the bbq is fabulous but who knew the shrimp would be so fine, especially at that price. Root beer float is simply majestic. Premium ice cream treats are delightful to enjoy under the shade of the live oaks. Staff is having fun and take good care of their customers and it shows. Their attitude made me feel good about opening their door. A stand up chili dog but it cannot be eaten in three bites with one hand while riding a bicycle. The world needs more cheap chili dogs this good.

I'd give Frosty's five stars solely for their soft serve ice cream BUT I must also mentioned their tasty burgers and other grill foods! My fam and I have came here numerous times on vacation for both ice cream and lunch and we have yet to be disappointed! It's also located in a great location near the main shopping center on St. Simons! Such retro diner vibes!

Frostys is a fun little place on the heart of St Simons about 1/4 mlie from east beach. Really good burgers, fries and shakes. They even had shrimp basket from local caught Georgia shrimp. Give them a shot you will love it.

Stopped by this little spot on our way out of town, traveling back north from Florida. The food was delicious. Nice salad, wonderful fried shrimp. The onion rings were great. And Terry had a yummy cheeseburger. We used the drive-through, which was very convenient! The wait for our food was totally reasonable. If you are in the St. Simons Island area this is a MUST visit. Love finding hidden treasures!!!!

The burger, fries, and coleslaw are worth going back for. The burger patty was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The pink sauce was better than ketchup & mayo! The coleslaw has horseradish, which really added to the flavor. The dipped cone was ok-- the ice cream wasn't very creamy or milky. It was light, like an ice milk, and the dipped coating was nice and thick, but it didn't have a lot of flavor. The milkshake was all you'd expect in a milkshake, but it was a little overly sweet.

We ordered fish sandwich, hamburger and chili dog. Very poor quality. Worst fish sandwich i have ever had. We love their ice cream so we will be back for that but nothing else.

Stopped in today with my wife and daughter and tried out Frosty's for the first time. Great food, I got a double cheeseburger with bacon and it was great, we shared the cheese fries which were delicious and then I shared a vanilla shake with my daughter and it was awesome too. The staff was great and the place was clean and we will be back for sure.

Service was good. Some food was good and some was average. Would recommend the burgers, hot dogs and shakes. The fries, onion rings and slaw were suspect at best. I had built this place up in my head from the great social media presence they have and was kind of let down.

Fluffernutter milkshake changed my whole life. I was literally here for 6 days and we went here for the milkshakes 4 times

Love this place. Never had a bad experience. Great burgers, griddled chicken sandwich, fish sandwich, onion rings. Also very polite staff.

Stopped here for a quick dessert, and was not disappointed. Ice cream was so....good., tasted as close to homemade as could be.

Definitely don't order any form of fried chicken. It is disappointing at best. The burgers have to be better but I didn't try one. They have a very disorganized staff and you will probably have to clean/bus a table to find a place to sit. I was surprised at how dirty the place was considering the reputation. I am not being disrespectful but honest. I was so looking forward to eating here. I guess you don't really know until you go.

The food is fantastic and the staff is great. We had an incredible, beyond expectations experience. Double cheese burger, fried shrimp, fries, lemonade, root beer float.
