Make your own ice cream sandwich with homemade cookies..... How could you go wrong?

This was a place we happened across while waiting to be seated at a nearby restaurant, but wow - this place is phenomenal! Frozen Hoagies has an excellent menu featuring the defacto 'frozen hoagie', a super-charged ice cream sandwich - but they also offer an affogato, made with fresh espresso and your choice of ice cream - I cannot recommend this place enough! And the staff here are delightful and quick, thank you! :)

This ain't your grocery store ice cream sandwich! I came here to try their good-looking ice cream sandwiches and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of cookie and ice cream options. If you get a hoagie (for around $6), you can choose 2 cookies (either of the same kind or different) among classics like chocolate chip and M&M to more unique flavors like Oreo, Nutella, and Earl Grey. They even have gluten-free cookies! Some were bigger than others and I'm sure the size of the cookie you get correlates to the amount of ice cream you will get so go for the larger cookies. I went with an M&M and a Nutella cookie. Then you get to choose among many flavors and I went with the Cow Trax (Vanilla ice cream with chocolate swirl and peanut butter cups). I was pleasantly surprised by how easy the ice cream sandwich was to eat. The cookies were soft enough that when you were ready to bite into them, they broke easily. My issue with some other cookies is that the cookie is so hard that the sandwich just falls apart. The ice cream will definitely start to melt so you should not let it sit. Admittedly, it's a little messy but what good ice cream sandwich isn't? I see a few negative reviews about this place but I thought the experience was totally positive. No complaints from me. It's not as good as the Cookie Monstah truck but it's pretty darn good.

Love this place! I always get a half hoagie. I wish the Somerville location near me didn’t close but I’ll drive to Winchester for the ice cream and cookies! My only suggestion would be that they have a microwave to heat up the cookies. Otherwise don’t change a thing!

I've seen this place have a line out the door once, but when I went on a weekday around 6pm, there was only one other person in line. I've only had what was pictured and some day-old oatmeal cookies, but they were all great. The gluten free chocolate cookie reminded me of a macaron: brittle on the outside but soft and creamy on the inside. The ice cream was smooth and satisfying.

Came for dessert and was pleasantly surprised by how many options there were. Cookies were good but I wouldn’t recommend anyone try to eat these with their hands. Ice cream to cookie ratio was 2:1 but still delicious. Very kind staff and overall great time

Great selection of different flavors of vegan ice cream. Their vegan ice cream is delicious! It is so smooth and creamy like the real thing. They also have big, vegan chocolate chip cookies! Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside what I would consider to be the perfect texture. All at a great price. Along with vegan options, they serve regular ice cream, frozen yogurt, wide range of cookies, candies and other sweet treats. If you're dairy-free or vegan definitely check this place out!

we are not from the area so searched ice cream and stumbled onto frozen hoodies. It was sooo good! Unique mix of ice cream, candy and bake goods. Our family had a cookie ice cream sandwich, ice cream in waffle cone and ice cream in regular done. Everyone loved it! Highly recommend

Cookies and ice cream both weren't good. Cookies were stale. Better ice cream at the supermarket. Service was not friendly at all. Wouldn't return. Cookie Monster is way better all around.

Delicious as always. They added donuts on Saturdays, open at 9. Very tasty. Cookies to go are also nice whenever we aren't up for a full sandwich. Always very friendly service.

Just ordered cookies, they were pretty good. Noticed lots of flies flying around inside the cookie cases after I ordered...probably should've walked out. The cookies should really be in an enclosed case....

Omg. Where has this place been hiding? We were going to grab a snack from Starbucks and happened upon this place due to Starbucks being closed for rennovation. We came home with a very large pink box filled to the brim with huge and delicious looking cookies of 6 different flavors - sugar, chocolate, snickerdoodle, stuffed oreo, chocolate chip and a brownie. They were so decadent and delicious and they were hobe within minutes. They have shakes, ice cream and gluten free and vegan items too. You can make your own ice cream sandwiches which is very nice.. It is a pretty little bakery and I prefer these cookies over Crumbl. Will definitely be back!

A true gem! It used to be located in Somerville near Tufts and was a favorite of college kids and neighborhood families, and has quickly become a Winchester staple. If you're a chocolate fan, the flourless chocolate cookies and cocoa joel ice cream are both to die for. The nutella or oreo stuffed chocolate chip cookies are delicious if you're feeling extravagant. I'm also a fan of the salted caramel and cow trax ice creams. Overall, you can't go wrong! Some pretty solid vegan and gluten free options. It's a cute place with a few tables, and there are various benches nearby in downtown Winchester if the store is full. A tip: you can get just ice cream, a half hoagie (a small ice cream with one cookie), or a whole hoagie (a full sandwich with two cookies). The whole hoagie is fun as a concept but is somewhat impractical to eat and is a lot of food -- I would recommend just getting a half hoagie and using your spoon to scoop ice cream onto the cookie as you eat. That way you get both cookie + ice cream at once without the cookies crumbling and ice cream everywhere.

I ordered an ice cream sandwich for pick up. It was ready when I got there and in the freezer out front so it was easy to grab. The ice cream was delicious but I'm disappointed in the cookies. They are too hard and have an artificial or overly sweet flavor to them. I ended up eating just the ice cream.

This ice cream never fails to be open when we are craving ice cream. They also have many other sweets from chocolate coated cones to M&M stuffed cookies. The workers are friendly and nice and they make the effort to add different fun flavors every season. It's great!!

Ice cream is decent , but cookies taste like they're not made w real dairy /butter, so they taste a little flat. Overall, a good experience and excellent service - I'd recommend switching to butter for the baked goods for a 5/5

I cannot rave enough about how DELICIOUS their vegan chocolate chip cookie is!! So rich and dense Not pictured is their salted caramel ice cream which was equally delicious!! I would probably avoid the vegan blackberry ice cream and the sugar cookie, both were misses with underdeveloped flavor and odd texture, respectively m. :/ Four stars for the other phenomenal desserts though!

Staff was super friendly and helpful! My one gripe is that the cookies were kinda hard and tough to chew through, but that could be more because we went just before closing. Overall I'd try it again.

One of the only places I have been to that you can create your own hand scooped custom ice cream sandwiches. I loved being able to choose from a dozen types of fresh baked cookies and pair those with the creamy, smooth ice creams they offered in more than 20 flavors. This place is a must visit for those close to Boston. Really close to the Middlesex Fells Reservation. We went after a full day of hiking. Great way to cap off the day.

This place has THE BEST ICE CREAM EVER and the cookies are crazy good. Get the Tigers Milk's ice cream. tastes just like frosted flakes! so awesome

They have so many different delicious homemade cookies ranging from snickerdoodle to Nutella stuffed and of course chocolate chip. Their ice cream is outstanding too. We left with a package of homemade cookies in addition to our ice cream sandwiches. Well worth the drive to Winchester!
