Frutti Di Mare

Me and my partner came here as tourists from Slovakia, because our greek friend recommended us this place, for his father is a life-long friend with the owner. In short, It was a real gourmet blessing. Restaurant seemed very cozy and elegant. Tables were set very nicely. Our waitress was a very friendly, kind lady. She even gave us candies and sweets before we left - quite a lovely gesture. We ordered baby octopus and grilled calamari, both of which tasted fantastic. Afterwards we got served panna cotta. All in all, we had a magnificent experience here and we're looking forward to coming here again when we visit Thessaloniki next time. We'll be recommending this place to everybody. If people don't visit this place, they are missing out on a lot.

Very good service and delicious food. We are not much of fish eaters but we did not get disappointed. Greek salad and bread are amazing - don’t miss them. The bread resembles a long fish :)

Today we visited the restaurant Frutti di Mare and sat outside. The atmosphere was really great. We ordered shrimp pasta and paella — everything was very delicious. I also ordered an iced latte, which wasn’t on the menu, but our waitress Maria kindly agreed to make it, and it turned out excellent. We really enjoyed everything.

The service at this restaurant is terrible. First, the staff is rude. Second, there were four of us, and while three of us got our food within 10 minutes, our friend had to wait an additional 20 minutes for her squid, which she ordered after we had already received our meals. By the time her food arrived, we had already finished eating. Isn’t the whole point of dining together to eat at the same time? We also didn’t have salt and pepper on the table, two friends weren’t even given knives to eat their fish, and the fork I was given was an absolute disaster—cheap, uncomfortable, and difficult to use. The food’s taste was okay—our friend’s squid wasn’t cooked enough, but the rest (sea bass and octopus) was fine. HOWEVER, and this is a big “however,” the portion sizes were ridiculously small. I ordered octopus for €15.20 and received a portion so tiny, without any sides, that no one could possibly feel full. The ambiance was decent. Avoid this restaurant at all costs. All in all, my rating is 1/5.

First place that we visited in the city. We took a plate of meze for 2. It was delicious! The bread was delicious! And the local cat was nice. Please, don’t forget to feed him, he loves octopus :)

The bread served before the main dishes is the highlight of the restaurant, really tasty and with great presentation. The staff was a bit chaotic and we had to wait quite a long time for our food, especially salads. The owner is a great character but kinda rude, making snarky remarks - if I want to eat fried calamari, I will - no need to suggest the paella (because we're not in Barcelona, after all). The food was good and prices acceptable for the quality. The whole issue was they were understaffed and the owner woman was bringing more chaos by yelling at everyone.

Amazing sea food soup, served with bread and an amazing red dip. Fried squid is also good. I recommend it!
