Chinatown Dining Is Coming Back After the Coronavirus Shutdown | Eater NY

"I grabbed an incredibly delicious passel of spice-coated pork chops over rice with pickled mustard greens at Andy Wang’s Taiwan Pork Chop House ($6.25); the spot had a couple of tables right on the street in front of the post office, and as eager customers appeared they snatched more chairs from inside until the street was filled." - Robert Sietsema

The food is good and reasonably priced. Even though there is queue, their serving is quick. Just that the bamboo smell a bit strong inside the restaurant.

Dropped by Fu Ba Wang Pork Restaurant for lunch and was genuinely impressed by the quality of the food, especially considering how affordable it was. This place is a hidden gem for pork lovers — the pork feet were absolutely delicious, cooked to tender perfection with a rich, savory flavor that had clearly been developed over hours of slow cooking. The skin was gelatinous in the best way, and the meat just fell off the bone. It’s the kind of dish that warms you from the inside out. I also tried their minced pork rice, and it was equally satisfying. The portion was generous, the rice fluffy, and the pork topping was flavorful with just the right balance of sweetness and umami. It’s a classic comfort dish done really well here. The ambience is simple, with a no-frills, local eatery vibe that makes you feel right at home. Service was quick and efficient, and the staff were polite and helpful even during the busy lunch rush. What really stood out was the price — incredibly cheap for the quality and quantity of food. It’s rare to find such value these days. I’m giving it four stars only because the menu is quite focused, so variety is a bit limited. But if you’re craving hearty, authentic pork dishes without breaking the bank, this spot is a must-visit.

It's been decades since my last meal here, as I mostly follow a plant-based diet. The braised pork is super tender and creamy melting in my mouth without feeling overly greasy. Surprisingly, the braised tofu is much greasier than the pork. I originally ordered plain tofu, but the waiter served me braised tofu instead. When I asked if there had been a mistake, he casually responded, "Oh, the plain tofu is sold out. We can refund you if you don't want the braised tofu." Since it was the busy lunch rush, I decided to just accept it. Aside from that, The braised pork rice and the braised bamboo shoots were both delicious. The restaurant has separate lines for eat-in and takeout. For eat-in, you queue outside for your turn to order and pay first, then get a receipt along with a beeping device to alert you when the table is ready for you. I got there around 1 PM and waited about 10 minutes to order. After that, it took me another 15 minutes before my table was ready. Overall, the restaurant is well-organized and runs efficiently despite the high demand.

I went to the restaurant that people called “Jensen Huang’s favorite place.” Compared to Korea, the difference was that the meat was extremely tender and it didn’t have much of a medicinal herb smell. Maybe because the weather was hot, there wasn’t any wait.

Please arrive early because after 6 pm most of knuckle will sold out. Memo: Waiting period: 15 minutes Location: Close to the MRT station Cash only

Overall, the dining experience here is quite pleasant, especially if you’re looking to avoid long lines (take out line is much longer). The standout dish has to be the stewed pork feet, which are cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. Pair it with a serving of white rice for the ultimate comfort food combo. 🍚 However, the tofu might not be as flavorful as you’d hope. Perhaps they could work on enhancing its taste profile. 🤔

Despite it being off peak hours, it was still crowded. Unfortunately most of their items were sold out. So I ordered the Pork Trotters and a side of Fried Tofu. I'm just not used to the braising style here in Taiwan as it is too sweet for my liking. Overall.... it was ok. Taste is not my cup of tea despite me being a braised pork lover.

Food is like it should be. Salty and tangy, flavorful. It's too much of a effort to wait in line to place an order, pay for it then wait to be seated. Too crowded, weather is too hot, used too much effort! Too nerve-wracking to dine in such a crowded place when the next customer needs your seat in the next breath! Not for me! But if you don't mind all of these, be their guests and wait in line starting from 10:30! They are closed on Sunday and Monday.
