Guide to Hudson, New York: Where to Eat, Stay, and Play Upstate | Vogue

"Fuego 69 is a pop-up run by Carla Perez-Gallardo and Hannah Black, founders and owners of Lil’ Debs Oasis. It is located on the lawn of the Rivertown Lodge hotel and features a gigantic light-strewn tree that serves as the order and pick-up counter. The kitchen is outdoor and fire-focused, with cozy seating provided by a canvas tent and outdoor tables. Each week, 69 cents from each item ordered is donated to a different racial justice cause, and customers can contribute to buying a meal for someone in need. The menu includes seasonal dishes like heirloom potato salad with smoked New York trout and delicata squash with chile vinegar and crispy buckwheat. Desserts include the gooey Smore 69." - Devorah Lev-Tov

Delicious pan-american food served in the grassy area behind Rivertown Lodge. Cool + quirky vibe; we had the fish and veggie sides and the flavors of everything were excellent

Yelp
We were extremely disappointed in the waitress / cashier's attitude. Maybe she was having a bad day, but it's no excuse to be rude to customers. Let me start off with, I hate writing a bad review during a pandemic because we appreciate and support small businesses. WE ALWAYS TIP HANDSOMELY WHEN IT IS DESERVED! We ordered items from the menu *for takeout* and upon checking out, she stated, are you tipping 20%, 25%, or 30%? I noted there were signs that all indicate, "you bust your own table." Knowing we were taking the food away, we did not tip. She said rather loudly, "WHAT, NO TIP?!" Firstly, people do not have to tip if they are taking something to go. Secondly, you do not state that a customer must tip over 20% as if you've served us to some amazing standard. Thirdly, if you instruct people to bust their own tables, WHY DO YOU DESERVE A TIP? I'll even give the benefit of the doubt and say, okay, the staff needs to wipe down the table for COVID measures, fine- YOU DON'T ORDER EACH CUSTOMER TO TOP YOU OFF AT 20%! LEARN SOME MANNERS WITH YOUR ENTITLED EYE-ROLL. For every customer coming here, I get it- You would want to support your local restaurant, but in no way should a business bully your customer to tip when you have not provided an additional service. If the food had been stellar, sure, we would have given you something extra, but your attitude sucks! Now, onto the food: Stuffed tomato $12.69. This was a good stuffed tomato, but $12.69? Nah, this markup was insane for a tomato. See photo. It's -- a tomato. Buckwheat Flatbread $15.69. This was a good flatbread. Again, $15.69? Sorry, it was small and we can get some pretty damn good flatbread elsewhere. Scallop skewer $15.69. This was labeled as a large. NOPE, don't expect something large. It's a typical skewer... it's a good skewer and I'll give credit where it is deserved, but we have had some delicious seafood for well under this price point. See photos. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on this one and maybe seafood is a bit more pricey now, but don't advertise your scallops as large. Listen, I get the restaurant is good and many people appreciate it, but if you are "reincarnating as FUEGO 69," go and REINCARNATE your attitude with it. The other servers seemed pretty nice, but I'd consider my review when she bosses you to tip 20% and give her back some attitude! Total: $47.60 for a bad attitude, small tomato, small skewers, and small flatbread. Check out the photos. Photos won't lie to ya! Also, the water was dirty in a dirty plastic cup.

Yelp
Very yummy food. Very well decorated. And it's all for a good cause. I think everyone had a fun loving attitude and when they call your names, they make a little limerick or a poem that rhymes with your name. The beverages were delicious. The food was just right and very healthy. A little pricey, but hopefully it goes to the causes and the workers' wages. We had the scallops with jalapeños which was very good. The mushrooms were delicious. The heirloom potatoes were yummy. The flatbread was great too. It's very yummy. And we all had the dirty fingers drink - and The fusion of ginger and carrot juice and mezcal was really good.
