Google
Fuego Grill delivered a really enjoyable dining experience overall, and I’d definitely go back. The tacos were imaginative, with unique flavor combinations that showed creativity and care in the kitchen. They were tasty, fresh, and clearly made with quality ingredients. But the real standout? The corn tortillas. Absolutely phenomenal — soft, warm, and packed with flavor. You can tell they’re handmade with love, and they elevated every taco they wrapped. Honestly, I’d come back just for those alone. The reason for the four stars instead of five is simply that while everything was good, nothing quite hit the “blow-your-mind” level across the board. But if you’re in the mood for well-crafted tacos and some of the best corn tortillas you’ll find anywhere, Fuego Grill is absolutely worth the stop.

Google
We enjoyed the food, the service and the atmosphere. The sauces are way over and they create a bit of a mess while you're trying to eat the sandwich. One star less. That's always my issue with Fuego. Maybe it's just the way they want their food to be but it is hard to manage eating them. Also, we feel having too much sauce takes away from tasting the food itself. Parking is plenty and free. The service was excellent and we didn't have to wait. The place is clean and organized. Easily accessible from the highway which is how we spotted it.

Google
A very very lovely place to eat food after a hike or nature visit. It has tons of food options, with 1 section being food on flour/corn tortillas, and one with no tortillas. The food is very affordable and very filling, and at the same time being delicious. The horchata here is perfect. The food also arrived very quickly

Google
Introduced to this place in College Station years ago. Still great food! Wish they had one closer to my home in Hutto, but at least I can get some here in San Marcos passing thru!!

Carina Jahn

Google
I hadn't been to Fuego in quite a while. I got the Mango Tango and an order of the Chipotle Cream Corn. Everything tasted great. I ordered through the drive through and service was quick. I'll be back again soon.

David Lozano

Google
Some of the best flour tortillas I have ever had. Got the chorizo and egg, bran and cheese, and barbacoa tacos. Everything was amazing and fresh with fast service. Will definitely be back.

Google
Open 24x7!!!! Heck ya!!! Huge tacos! All fresh ingredients. A smaller chain currently only in college towns. But thinking about it, students are actually more picky and tight with funds. So Fuego is really trying harder. Walk up service with friendly staff and nice efficient super casual space. Great guac, fast service and HUUGGEE tacos. The Rock Star is amazing, the South Padre is delishhh. The Trippy Chicky is so good. Want shrimp? Check. Mango? Check. Bacon? Check check. We loved our visit and hope they expand further. Owners.. Hint come to Bastrop!! We need you!!

Google
Best breakfast tacos😋😋😋,ordered Ranchero and the poblano and order came out fast, hot freshly made, the salsa bar was so good, especially the habanero sauce

Yelp
Magic Mushroom taco was fire We've been back 4 times and each time we tried a different taco! They are All Good! Favorite Magic mushroom!!

Amanda C.

Yelp
Food is really really good! Carbs Guisada is tender and big chunks. They are not selfish with the serving size. Rice and beans are really good. I just got the charro beans. Their service was awesome and really fast. The front registrar was very attentive. Restaurant is really clean as well I love the decorative lights. Must try out here. FYI no alcohol is served but it's worth the tacos. You need to try the Good Golly Miss Molly and Dr Pepper taco!

Patsy B.

Yelp
Delicious! I had passed this place many times and mistakenly thought it was fine dining. It is fast, large portions and delicious. Huge delicious tacos of every variety. El Presidente was out of this world chicken with fried avocado pieces.

Yelp
In my head i remembered seeing many reviews complaining about their drive through speed and service, but our experience this morning was a complete success. Around 10:30am on a Thursday morning we spent maybe seven minutes as we arrived 4th in line. The ladies were super cheerful and seemed surprised at our request to tip at the window. My El Guapo was as good as I remember. Not stingy on the pork, just the right amount of queso, eggs were fluffy and not rubbery, and oh! their lovely, lovely salsa verde--the taco was already good without it but the verde makes it sing. And of course these ain't no HEB shelf tortillas, either. Not thrilled that the online price was not up to date, but the actual $4.19 is a fair price for this sizable delight. There's a reason this place is still in business; whether I just need one taco or am feeding an army, it has options to please. __ Friday breakfast update: Classic 2-ingredient breakfast tacos cost less but are also a little smaller. Service was slightly less hug-inducing for Mr R as a walk in today but the results are still solid. Just went with bean/cheese and a potato/egg and regret nothing; tasty af.

Yelp
I like Fuego. As someone that works nights I love the hours they provide. My coworkers are always asking for our orders and heading over to get everyone food. I've been on dates inside and gone through their drive through. They were all good experiences all around. The only problem I have is that the tacos are never labeled or at least separated. It would be nice if when doing drive through especially for large orders if someone could label what everything is. Otherwise we have to open each others orders to see what's what which isn't very sanitary. A quick sharpie abbreviation would be SO helpful. The food is good. And I'll be back for another nightly taco.

Ashley C.

Yelp
Recommended by a friend, thank goodness! We had dinner and enjoyed so much we came back for breakfast. Of everything, we liked the barbacoa and guisada the best. Must try if you're in the area. Price is reasonable too. Tried everything below and all were good. The good golly ms holly was a little too Smokey for me. But still good. Barbacoa w cheese Classic carne guisada Good golly Ms Holly Dr Pepper cowboy Sausage egg cheese I-chee-Wa-Wa

Yelp
My first time ever and WOW! I got the Mexican Cobb salad and it was so filling. They added so much meat and they gave you more than enough dressing. The south padre taco was also delicious. Shrimp quality wasn't the best, but overall tasty and worth it. Order 1 maybe 2 tacos. They're HUGE!!

Jason C.

Yelp
I stopped in on a Tuesday night around 10pm. I guess they're having staffing problems because after paying I waited more than 30 minutes at the curb for someone to run a bag of food outside to me. After all that I genuinely wish I had just gotten Taco Bell or a burger. The fries are bad and taste like they don't change their oil often enough. The tacos poorly assembled with mediocre fillings and salsas. It's a pass for me.

Thea R.

Yelp
One of my favorite casual taco places open late! They have thick corn tortillas. Definitely not a fancy taco place and more of a casual ambiance. The service is fast and friendly. We ordered the steak taco and it was filled! Very filling! Don't expect authentic Mexican style street tacos. It's a delicious fast food taco place! The flavors are more for an American palate.

Mike M.

Yelp
Last two visit were a bust....We always start with chips and queso. The queso is still good bur the chips have been stale. I was told the chip heater is broken and has been for a while. May want to go to HEB and get a few bags instead of serving gummy chips. The tortillas are now smaller and do not taste like house made anymore. Portion size also got smaller. Please keep sour cream and cucumbers on the salsa bar. Makes up for the other short falls.

James K.

Yelp
I've eaten here a few times when in town and have always enjoyed it. Their food is solid, at a very reasonable price point. I'll be back at some point for sure!

Ryan M.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to stop by late at night in San Marcos. Great late night tacos at reasonable prices.

Rolando M.

Yelp
Manager at night 10:45 pm is rude, doesn't even seem like she wants to be there. Uneducated on the ingredients.

Rebecca C.

Yelp
Fuego, fuego, fuego. I love this place! They have a location in College Station that I frequented when I lived there, but if I'm ever hungry while driving though San Marcos, I pull over. The tacos hit every time. I always get a Loco Pollo and bean & cheese taco. The Loco Pollo is divine.. comes with char-flamed chicken, smoked bacon, frijoles, and roasted poblano queso in a fresh homemade flour tortilla. Great salsa. Friendly service every time. Give yourself a favor and try if for yourself. They have in-store dining and a drive thru.

James F.

Yelp
GF and I needed to head to Seguin on a recent Friday for our Covid boosters. Normally, I would stop in Kyle instead of San Marcos for breakfast. Last few times I dined there it wasn't that great so I decided to consult Yelp for something new. Decided Fuego Tortilla Grill was worth a visit. I've driven past it for years even with a co-worker telling me it was awesome back when it opened. GF and I arrived to find a simple ordering process. Noticed immediately that the drive thru was popular! We ordered, grabbed our drinks and I was so enamored when my taco arrived I completely forgot about the salsa bar and dug in. The El Guapo paired pulled pork, eggs, beans, grilled onions, and poblano queso. Perhaps a bit light on the pork being the only criticism. Factor in the $3.99 price point and it wasn't a thing. GF was equally happy with her simple bean and cheese tacos too. Guess I need to make a return visit for the same with salsa; the best breakfast I've had in San Martian in a long time!

Yelp
Fuego is straight fire. I was introduced by a homie years ago and it's become part of our ritual to swing through on our way back from Austin trips. The tacos are huge and there's some really great options. My go-tos are the chicken and waffle (literally a tortilla with 2 waffle triangles, scrambled eggs, bacon, and a chicken tender with a side of syrup) and the magic mushroom (Chipotle dreamed corn, Pico, bacon, pepper jack cheese, chargrilled chicken, and tons of mushrooms) The prices on the specialty tacos may seem a bit steep ranging from about $4.50-6 each but they're definitely worth it with how big they are and the flavors they deliver. There's so many to pick from and I haven't met a taco from there I didn't like. Just writing this review has me craving them again.

Mary B.

Yelp
I went there yesterday. Service is a bit slower than my other favorite taco place but the food was really good. Large portions. Unable to finish the 2 tacos I ordered. I had the southern comfort and Dodge city Mac cheese. I enjoyed the southern comfort much better. Had two chicken strips in it with the other fixings so was very filling. I felt the Mac and cheese in the dodge city was bland. Could have used something. The pork in the taco was good. I will go back but not order the Dodge city again since so many ither options

Teale R.

Yelp
I love fuego! My go to order is the queso and chips and also the el Presidente and the king! They also very quick in the drive thru!

Kip G.

Yelp
This place is a gem! Sure I've had better tacos, but the convenience of going through a drive-thru at 5am and having a decent taco is hard to find. My current favorite is their Good Golly Miss Holly: Brisket, Mac & Cheese, and Cheetos. Don't knock it 'til you try it!

Nicholas S.

Yelp
Have had food poisoning from this place. Never eaten there again, plus the drive through takes forever to get food.

Jayden B.

Yelp
oh my gosh where do I even start ??? Fuego is an incredible taco destination. The dodge city mac and rita carnita are my favorites!!!! The drive thru line is always long but the service ends up being pretty fast! I always love getting the queso as a late night snack since they are open 24 hours most days! If you want a level up from Torchys you should definitely visit Fuego. I'm so glad they have one in San Antonio as well after I moved back here!!!

Ryan C.

Yelp
Such a gem in San Marcos, the tacos are amazing and taste so good, you cannot go wrong here. The price is also really good for what you're getting and honestly this is such a favorite of mine to go to for dinner. The service isn't bad when it's busy and the people are always nice. Overall such a wonderful experience and great food.

Robbie R.

Yelp
Food here is always amazing even through the late nights it's always so good. The service from Tina Was amazing and she was super nice and sweet. Very clean on the inside will definitely be back. Love the music.

Candace B.

Yelp
This is a nice place to enjoy some reasonably priced tacos and sides. Without question their creamed corn, and chips and queso are some of my favorites dishes that they offer. I ordered a fish taco which was good but messy. Service was polite. Overall a nice Sunday afternoon experience.

Stormy M.

Yelp
The BEST tacos I ever had. Seriously! Customer service was A1 the minute I walked in. Great music, great employees and very, very clean condiment station. I highly recommend giving them a visit. Been and cheese burritos were scrumptious as well.

Amanda D.

Yelp
The salads here are awesome!! Full of flavor & the amount of food is good Definitely recommend this salad & this restaurant

Molly C.

Yelp
Vegetarian/Pescatarian/Vegan options I eat here pretty often, never disappoints. The food is always hot and fresh. The Veggie Monster is my usual order, it's not a huge taco but full of flavor and satisfying for a lighter meatless choice. If I'm feeling fish I'll have the Campeche Fish Taco, which both my partner and I think is super good. Don't sleep on the fish taco. It's breaded and fried well, served with pico and a zesty sauce on the side. The staff is polite and the dining area is clean and bright, there also always seems to be some 80s hits station playing which is fun! Affordable too!

Rogelio G.

Yelp
Amazing place overall, with large tacos for a moderate pricing, just gotta make sure how much you can handle. Has a good choice of drinks ranging from water to Aguas Frescas. Also nice side bar with the limes and sour cream. One of the best Mexican places in San Marcos overall. Only downside maybe is the location due to the construction, but hopefully they get that fixed soon.

J S.

Yelp
Cashier was lifeless, didn't smile, barely talked, no personality. The steak taco and southern comfort tacos are awesome! Eat here!

Toni S.

Yelp
First time visit. Late dinner and didn't want to have to wait too long so we thought we would try Fuego Tortilla. They had a drive though so we were pleased. My husband got a El Presidente and I got a King without beans and Avocado on the side. We were defined pleased with this visit and will be back. The chicken and beef alone were flavorful. My husband enjoyed the fries avocado. It was the first time he had ever had any. I wasn't too pleased with the taste of the salsa or that they didn't have chips on the menu, but we had both at home. Other than that, no complaints!

Heather S.

Yelp
Wow! When I thought to try the Chicken and Waffles taco, I never imagined this! Maybe a sliver or two of waffle but this was delightful and fulfilling. To top it off, I added the maple syrup for a little sweet and savory. Great twist on a classic. It was a nice big place suite to small or large groups of all sorts. All of the tacos were made pretty quickly and looking good. A must try for taco buffs!

Lenora G.

Yelp
Had a large order late Saturday night. Many different items. We had a runner pick this up so couldn't check the order. It arrived promptly, piping hot with everything in tact. Had 14 people in our party and all were satisfied. Some had never eaten Fuego and were impressed. Food was so good. We even had leftovers for the next day.

Shane K.

Yelp
I have no idea how 514 people rated this place a 4 star average. Food is cold! Wouldn't even melt the cheese. Tortillas do queso are salty to the point you can't eat them! Yea was stale and cloudy like it was make last week. And for $6 a taco, I'll go to Taco Bell!

Alexis Noelle S.

Yelp
The manager star was yelling at us over us asking how long our chips and cheese would take a employee from back came out and said she always is so rude to costumers & to come report her bad service

Bru S.

Yelp
I was in town to see my son and he took me to Fuego as he swears by their tacos. The boy does not lie. I cant remember what they were as he picked them but they were big and very tasty. The tortillas were so pillowy soft. Cant wait to come back.

Tabbi T.

Yelp
Favorite 2 AM tacos. Also amazing any other time. My favorite taco to order is The King, but they've got all kinds of meat options & even breakfast! Great for on the way home from the square since they're open 24/7! The tacos are huge, I only ever order one so bare that in mind! Totally worth every penny!

Marissa P.

Yelp
First time I came here it was great, second time I asked for a water cup as I always do. When I went to pour there was residual of another pink drink and it poured into my sparking water. Honestly I was too out of it to even care and just sat down bc it stilled tasted like sparking water. The waitress comes up very aggressive staying "uh you need to throw that drink away or pay for it because you ordered water" in a very condescending voice. I attempted to explain what happened and she cut me off saying it was carbonated and there was no way it was water. Again I tried to explain the sparking water option which was included with the water cup I asked for. I was told "absolutely not" and she snatched my cup off the table. She proceeded to bring me a fresh cup of sparking water and then brought me an extra large meal and instead of possibly apologizing she made sure to mention that the meal I was getting was not the usual and that it was extra as I should be grateful. Go to hell with the extra food which was bland by the way. It's ridiculous how this restaurant allows their staff to treat customers as I was treated. I went from loving this place to not wanting to return due to the customer service. I get this is a 24 hr joint but I was not acting a fool I simply wanted some food before heading home. Highly disappointed.

Donna W.

Yelp
I had pollo taco. The tortillas taste freshly made and warm. It was very good. My husband liked his bacon and egg taco. He really loved the banana pudding. It's tastes homemade. Service is good for ordering at the counter. Our food was brought to us. Order takers are pleasant.

Trevor P.

Yelp
Had friends that swore by this place. Ordered two tacos and the queso. All 3 things were really really good. Queso definitely above average. Mac and cheese taco one of best taco I've ever had. Other taco was move average. Their Pepsi freestyle machines weren't dispensing correct carbonation it seemed.

Karly B.

Yelp
I don't really get the hype. low quality queso ): and don't get the chicken n waffles taco !! it might sound good but the waffle is soggy and it's not worth it.

Robert M.

Yelp
This is an icon in the San Marcos area. Definitely a hang out spot for after tubing or playing in the river. The place can definitely get crowded so be patient or be prepared to eat outside/home. They have a very unique menu of tacos and sides. Think taco truck meets walls with sit down dining. Parking can be tight so just drive around the building and you are likely to spot something on the other side. When you go in, head right and order at the counter. I've never had a rude cashier, but none of them ever seem to be wanting to be there. I enjoyed the I-Che-Wa-Wa and the South Padre last time I stopped by. Both are ginormous tacos. You are very likely to be full with one. The I-Che-Wa-Wa was a fried chicken slices with a strip of bacon. It used to be two but maybe they are cutting back. Great sauce and some guacamole in there. Very filling. The South Padre is a fried shrimp with cabbage, cheese, and some very spicy sauce. I liked it but the heat didn't do it for me. Definitely try out the queso. It's smoky and very flavorful. Once I even had a side of the creamed corn. I'm a junky for creamed corn and had to try it out. It was very good but just too much for one person with everything else.

Aj S.

Yelp
Love this location, they are very useful during the late night hours when I'm going through the drive through. Their flour tortillas are the absolute best and have never had a problem with their service in the drive through. I love the red salsa that they have, just overall the tacos are pretty awesome in my opinion. Even if it's just the bean and cheese tacos they are solid choices all around the menu.

Krista F.

Yelp
Cool that they offer gluten free options. Good salsa. But not great flavors of tacos and the corn tortilla completely fell apart...Not even good enough to eat as drunk food. I don't get the hype.

Domingo C.

Yelp
It it's always good fresh food. Nice friendly staff. Highly recommend steak taco plain, bean and cheese, flour tortillas, and salsa bar.

Mel F.

Yelp
This was my first time getting the Dodge City Mac & Cheese and it delicious it smelled so good before I ate it too. It's was a little messy but that just means it's going to be good

James W.

Yelp
Fuego is just up the road from our office. We ordered food for the office staff today. We had about 15 orders. Everyone's order was spot on, and everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the Sriracha Steak Mac Attack which was totally delicious !!! Worthy of a bookmark and a try if you're passing through or if you live or work nearby.

Marcus B.

Yelp
Decent food, felt a little unclean. Wished there would have been more of a welcoming vibe to this place. It has always felt like an alternate option to chipotle only that chipotle is a lot better. There menu consists of a lot of colorful options I would say. Unique menu to say the least but I would also say it can be a little pricey for them amount of food you are getting.

Mason H.

Yelp
The food is exactly as the name states, Fuego. But, don't be in a hurry. Literally sat in the drive through for over an hour and a half. I get there might be staffing problems, but usually drive through us a priority over dine in, and it was opposite this night with dozens of groups going in and out before I got my food. I've been here many times and it's never been this bad, hopefully just a one time thing.

Kerra S.

Yelp
Not sure why this always happens with the bowls, but it does . Half the time the bowl options ( fuel for fitness , veggie bowl, and rock the nation ) will be stuffed to the brim with delicious stuff . However , the other half of the times you get home to find a 1/4 full bowl and cold food. I love fuego , but I've encountered this problem in college station and San Marcos . Not sure what to say, maybe don't order a bowl? However, I know this happens on the tacos as well. Had to drive back to fuego after being told they were sorry about it ( I had to talk to 3 freaking people for them to replace the bowl with one that wasn't completely empty , lol.) Then when given the bowl back to get a new one the girl replied " oh ya, that does look terrible , sorry about that." You'd think if they knew it looked terrible they wouldn't send it out:( ahhh.... you live and you learn!

Yonina R.

Yelp
The food was absolutely delicious. I had the fish taco. OMG! The fish was fresh, crispy, and seasoned well. The tortillas were authentic, and it seems like they were made in-house. I ate every bite. I can't wait to come back.
