Chef Michael Toscano Drops ‘Unauthentic Italian’ Bar Bites at Fugazzi | Eater Carolinas

"Chef Micheal Toscano’s new concept inside Revelry Brewing Co. plays on the slang term for “phony” or “fake,” embracing an intentionally unauthentic, Italian‑inspired Americana. The kitchen focuses on playful, beer-friendly bar food including a porcine-rubbed prime-rib Philly cheesesteak, a meatball smash burger, Toscano’s take on his favorite New York hoagie from Faicco’s, wings in a Calabrian chili Buffalo sauce, a porchetta Cubano, disco fries topped with vodka sauce, and saltimbocca baby back ribs. Revelry’s bartenders can offer beer pairings, the project grew out of the brewery’s decision to add a kitchen, and the concept is open daily starting at noon." - Erin Perkins

I took my wife on a mini food tour and this was our last stop. The food was very delicious! We only ordered the Disco Fries and the Bruno Bianco pizza. The fries were very flavorful with vodka sauce, pesto, and fresh mozzarella. The Bruno Bianco was extremely fresh and very delicious. You could definitely taste the aromas of the parmigiano and basil pesto ranch sauce. It was phenomenal!! I completely recommend this place and these options.

Holy dear sweet baby jesus!!!! A random recommendation from a youtuber @devourpower. His review made it mandatory to go here. Holy crap!!! Sat outdoors because it was awesome out. I am born and raised in Philadelphia and this cheese steak is top 5 no joke!!! The Italian hero was friggin great. Food was out quick too... You will not be disappointed..

Google
1st time here! Parking was tough. The upstairs was reserved for a private event, so there were no good views. Open air venue. Had to deal with some flies. It was crowded. We grabbed 2 seats at the bar. Most of the restaurant is outside. Very small interior. Many beers on tap and canned ciders, seltzers, etc. The food was delicious! Disco fries reminded me of poutine that we had in Canada 🇨🇦 ♥️! Ribs are great and the smashed double burger! Yum! The prices are pretty high. You can see the photos of the menu. We were here Saturday at 1:30 for lunch. It's not fancy. Definitely come as you are. I wish Fugazzi was a separate place.

Went with family. We tried the Disco Fries, Spin/Art Dip, and Mozz Sticks; we also got the Cheesteak, the Cubano, and the Italian special. All were hits with us. We enjoyed everything we got. I can confidently say that the cheesteak is my favorite of all that I tried. My only criticism is that the salt could have been toned back a bit in all of these dishes. But it was all very enjoyable, and we will definitely be back soon! Word of caution to those who can't eat sesame seeds. All the sandwiches we ate had sesame buns.

Google
Margherita pizza was absolutely off the chain. Perfect chewiness to the mozzarella, pesto was fresh and tasted homemade.

Google
Food was great. Wait was a little long had to ask for a portion of the order after everyone else had already eaten. The restaurant portion should expand for was great and could be a stand alone

Google
They changed the bread on the cheesesteak, and we think it’s not as good as it was before. The other bread was softer. Just our opinion. The sandwich was still good, but it used to be better.

Google
1st time here for food. To be fair I was not expecting a cheesesteak like I would get from back home but more of a chopped steak with cheese. I know, just a play on words but when something is called a cheesesteak it's paints a picture in the mind of anyone that is from the north east or had a Philly from Philly. With that in mind the flavor is pretty good, not blown away but descent and the roll is very good. Now, at this price point I wasn't expecting a monstrosity of a sandwich but I was expecting a decent size. What arrived was underwhelming to say the least. I placed the peppers beside the sandwich to give reference to the size and those are your standard store bought jarred peppers, nothing big. It's more like an appetizer chopped steak rather than a meal. I get it, downtown prices, but would I repeat? No. I'll return to try other things on the menu but most likely not any of the other sandwiches.

Yelp
Fugazzi is the kitchen component of Revelry Brewing Co. in a neighborhood north of downtown Charleston. The brewery has a kind of hole in the wall vibe with a nice rooftop patio. Their beers are pretty good. The service is quick and friendly. You can order at the ground floor bar, or the one on the roof top. I ordered the famous porcini rubbed prime rib cheesesteak. It came with a bag of chips that were OK. But the cheese steak was absolutely delicious. One of the best I've ever had. I really like the fact that it had mushrooms in it too and that there were sliced hot peppers on the side that you could put on top if you so desire. Which I did. It's not often you come across a cheesesteak or you can get Cooper sharp cheese in the south. The cheesesteak is a must try.

Yelp
Please Don't Make Me We ordered the calamari pizza and the cheese steak sandwich. The cheese steak was too saucy, which made the bread soggy.... no thank you. Next up was the calamari pizza. The breading on the calamari was so salty and thick. ... again no thank you. Maybe if I drank draft, it would have better. The service was good and the environment was cool. $50 down the drain.

Yelp
Not sure why this place gets so much hate but I love the food. The outside vibe is a hit or miss because of the flies but that's expected. Food is good though!

Yelp
We did the whole social media, hyped up restaurant thing. It was worth it!! The ONLY problem, I wanted to order more but there was only two of us. The ambiance is laid back, clean enough, open garage feel. The service was great but they didn't have to do much. The food was really good. My husband and I both like the ribs the most. The sandwich was very rich and excellent. The bill was $65 total. Very reasonable. Everyone should try!

Yelp
Lobster roll is overpriced. Tastes good but portion size is very small. For this price in a New England state the lobster meat would fill this hot dog bun. Suggest the quesadilla!! The quesadilla was a very large portion and the marinara sauce was great.

Yelp
Nothing amazing. Food was not as good to me as others stated. There were rave reviews about the cheesesteak but it was lacking. I read it was served with Cooper cheese but it was not worthy of the price.

Kelly W.

Yelp
We did not like the pizza there was way too much cheese on it, which made it salty. Also the salad with wilted lettuce was not good. and lastly we bought a bottle of wine that must have been old because we couldn't drink it. No recommendation here.

Yelp
First there is no phone number listed so there's no way to contact them before going. The place is disgusting, and dirty. Don't be fooled by the picture on their website. We took our grand children there but after walking in and seeing how dirty the place was and the dogs eating from the tables we turned around and left. I saw one of their Philly steaks on a table it was more roll and just a little meat. It's totally over rated. and after looking over the menu it's obviously over priced, too!

Yelp
Food was phenomenal and service was great. It's a fun atmosphere and vibe all the way through. Great place to hang with friends, talk to staff, and try some really fun food. Also great beer selection.

Yelp
From the chef who brought you Le Farfalle and da Toscano Porchetta Shop comes his homage to bar food with da Toscano Fugazzi! Bar food with a crazy Italian twist! We started with the Chicken Parm Quesadilla which left me saying where have you been all my life? Large fried chicken strips mixed with ooey gooey mozzarella and basil pesto with a tasty marinara sauce for dipping. One order of this could easily feed to people! I tried the Porcini Rubbed Prime Rib Cheesesteak which is now my second favorite in the lowcountry (sorry Berkeley's will always be number one for me)! Packed with juicy prime rib and swimming in that zesty cheese sauce it did not disappoint! But the true star of the show was the Friday & Saturday special. The overstuffed Connecticut Lobster roll!! It really took me back to my trips to Maine with a buttery bun packed to the hilt with sweet juicy lobster meat with melted butter to pour over the top! At $25 an amazing deal and absolutely the best lobster roll in all the lowcountry!! You need this in your life!

Yelp
Really just ok. Fairly priced food that looks very very good but tasted pretty bland and not very seasoned. Got the disco fries and chicken parm quesadilla.

Yelp
First off I ordered a sandwich and fries and 2 bottles of water. The total $39+. How??? Checked and found the guy added 30% tip. Had him take that off and straighten out the order. 15-20 minutes later still no food. Told the guy delivering to tables and he went back to tell them they forgot to make it. Meanwhile a man and his daughter were mad because his food wasn't what he ordered. He also had 30% tip added on his ticket. The poor guy working tables said "yeah he does that if you don't specify a tip". What a well run machine this place is. Rated well but I'll never touch it again and dog it when I have the chance.

Yelp
Had a hard time finding the place to start, theres no sort of signs or advertising. Once we ordered, no drinks were brought to us we had to go and ask if we could take them from the fridge, there wasnt much of a crowd at all when i went but for some reason we waited about 50 minutes for our food, and on top of that nobody notified us of our food being delayed or anything i had to get up to ask where it was twice and the second time i asked for a refund which, granted, they happily gave and i never got my food.

Lauren B.

Yelp
Got here right as it opened, food was ice cold. They're out of half of their beer options and the TVs outside do not work correctly. We went on a Saturday during football season so you would think the tvs would work.. even tried signing into our personal espn accounts and the tvs wouldn't work with that. The food had a nice flavor but it was so cold it wasn't enjoyable.

Anthony R.

Yelp
Not impressed our first time coming in to try the food. We ordered a few different dishes and the Philly was really disappointing you might as well have served on a hot dog bun. Because that's exactly what it looked like for $21 dollars. The ribs were not cooked all the way either. The pizza was ok, not worth the money you spend for sure!
