25 Best San Jose and South Bay Area Restaurants | Eater SF

"Fugetsu’s second U.S. location in San Jose was originally supposed to be a sit-down restaurant, but the pandemic led to a deli-style store. You walk in and flow with the line filling your basket with a collection of musubis, sushi, croquettes, cold-dressed noodles, and rice bowls. Their specialties include savory pancakes with mix-ins called okonomiyaki, creamy battered octopus balls called takoyaki, and deep-fried skewered meat and vegetables called kushikatsu. It’s the perfect place to stock up before a picnic." - Octavio Peña

Google
This store has a lot of different bento boxes and rice balls. There are also some other groceries and Japanese snacks. I like the salmon rice ball which is very fresh and flavored. Will come back to try other bento boxes.

Google
Got all this for $20-what an incredible deal! The salmon was fresh and quite creamy. They had a spontaneous 20% off after 6PM. Workers said the deal activates at random times some evenings.

Google
Cool spot for quick meals on the go. Mofusand and labubu merch, too if that's your jam

Google
They have 25% off leftovers bentos around 6 to 7pm most days depending on their stock. There are plates with a combo of some sort of don, okonomiyaki, and takoyaki. They also have fat onigiris, unagi meshi, poke bowls, sushi, udon, and other similar things I can't think of right now. They also sell nonfood stuffs from Japanese. Surprise boxes and stuffed Sanrio characters (Kuromi! 💜🖤), puzzles, cutout displays to build. Different types of Miffy merchandise: cups, plates, teapots, stuffed toys. I was on a hunt for a Miffy item to give to a Miffy lover so that was my original mission when I came here before I got sidetracked by other cute and delicious things.

Google
This is a small place but it's packed with great food. Tne okonomiyaki is amazing. Even though they are sitting out. We ate our inn the parking lot. This was just as good as tne one we had in Japan. Brought back many good memories. Tne sushi rolls are really tasty to. Very fresh and clean tasting. Highly recommended

Google
Such a cool store! Fitting that it’s right next to Clover. Similar style, wish it had more vegetarian options! Lot more than just food too :)

Google
I love the bento lunches from Shalala Deli inside Fugetsu Market. In particular, the "Shalala Deluxe Bento" recommended by Shalala Deli's manager, Nobu Iwahashi, contains seasoned chicken and fried shrimp, and the salmon with white sauce on the side was delicious even for me, who doesn't like salmon. If you run out of ingredients and only rice is left, it's a good idea to eat it with the vegetables on the side.

Google
Came here during Friday lunchtime, wasn’t too crowded. Food was pretty tasty, decently fresh. The modanyaki I had was pretty close to fresh okonomiyaki imo. I also got the karaage, it was solid, but it was saucy and I’m not that big a fan of glazed fried chicken. They have a pretty wide selection of various ready to eat dishes, as well as some that you take home and cook. They also sell various snacks and sauces and beverages including alcohol. Pretty nice place, it’s location is a lot more convenient to me compared to their Sunnyvale spot, so I’ll definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Really good place to get some Japanese food at solid price points! The pro tip is to come after 7 pm, everything is 25% off and it's great for dinner. They keep everything either heated or refrigerated at the right temperature so you don't have to worry about things going bad. Everything from sushi to sashimi to bento boxes to cheesecake is available.

Yelp
The vibes here are super fun, a lot of grab and go options, as well as Japan merch that has a rotating stock. Overall solid onigiri selections, a good variety of fish and non-fish options. The beef yakiniku onigiri is super flavorful and has an excellent beef, sauce, and rice ratio. It's something I always look forward to when visiting and it's not sweet at all.
google avatar

Yelp
This is one of my favorite finds in Japantown San Jose. There's a great to go session each time. It's always best to go before the dinner time because the later you go, the less options you might have. My favorite is the table with the different shrimp hand rolls or onigiri. The gimbap is very filling and has lots of food. The California roll is filled with large amount of crab. The fried section is really delicious especially the potato croquette and seafood tempura. A great selection when you want to drop by to grab lunch or dinner.

Yelp
Found out on-the-spot that Clover Bakery & Cafe was temporarily closed for its post-holiday-rush vacation (womp womp, but well deserved) so I decided to mosey over next door to check out this spot for some Japanese grub. Hmm the unagi onigiri and inari sushi were just okay. The unagi had a slight slimy texture and was on the bland side. The rice was nicely plump and uniformly-packed though. I liked the texture and taste of the pocket tofu wrapping of the inari sushi but the fillings were a bit unremarkable flavor-wise. Had the warabi mochi for dessert; the matcha powder on it was pretty bitter so good thing that a small container of brown sugar syrup was included with the mochi lol. Overall wouldn't say that it's a must-try spot but if you're craving for some ready-made Japanese food this place would do it for ya.

Yelp
I was craving okonomiyaki and found Fugetsu market online. We came here on a Friday evening and there were limited options. Due to the timing, the items we got were not as fresh and the okonomiyaki was a bit salty for me. The staff were helpful and friendly. I would come back to try other items. They have various to go Japanese food and desserts. It's in a plaza with many Japanese restaurants and market.
google avatar

Justine L.

Yelp
Great grab and go Japanese market with a variety of onigiri, bento boxes, and tons of other hot foods to choose from. This spot is very convenient for those who want a quick meal that's already prepackaged. Food is best eaten right away to prevent food from getting soggy/not as crispy. Onigiri's are pretty hefty which is a plus!

Yelp
I love this shop! It's right next to Mitsuwa Market place so I always pick up some snacks or lunch after grocery shopping in this area. Parking can get really filled up on the weekends so I would go on a weekday if possible! The service is very fast here since it's more of a stop, shop, and go. They don't offer seats to eat inside so I usually eat my lunch or snack in the car. It's a really clean and cute shop. The food is labeled and sorted very nicely for the customers! My go to is definitely their mentaj cold noodles. One is definitely enough for a light lunch but as you can see... I pick up as many as I can get my hands on. They are so GOOD, and for $7 it's not too bad.

Yelp
I keep coming back here in recent weeks to grab a quick bite to eat as needed. Some of my recent favorites include the spice curry bowl, bulgogi kimbap, and seafood yaki soba. They have a great variety so you are sure to find something, but towards the early evening the pickings do get a bit bare
google avatar

Yelp
Good value for the onigiris - they were pretty tasty and filled with rice! The eel had a couple of sharp bones upon first bite, but the rest of it didn't have any bones. The beef kimbap is best consumed within the hours after purchasing and were very filling. What surprised me is that the onigiris were quite wet - think it's some sort of soy miso sauce glaze on most of them. Parking can be kind of hectic during busy hours as this plaza seems to be busy. If you need a restroom, Mitsuwa has a free bathroom that doesn't require a key. Service was good, the people ringing up our order were polite.

Yelp
Nice bento box restaurant with a variety of Japanese food options. I've tried: - yakisoba - pretty good. - shalala bento box - contained pork katsu, beef, imitation crab salad, and a shrimp tempura with tartar sauce. The katsu was dry and texture was a bit hard, everything else was alright. - unagi meshi - not bad - okonomiyaki bento box - okonomiyaki was a bit dry and tasteless aside from the sauce on top, the tomato/ketchup rice is alright, takoyaki is ok too. - salmon sushi box - salmon wasn't fishy at all, fatty and quite good! They put the bento boxes under a heat lamp, but the food wasn't as warm as I thought it would be. Overall it's a quick and convenient meal. Bear in mind these aren't exactly fresh off the stove and doesn't taste as good as if you ordered at a restaurant. Near closing time, some of their food items (both sushi and hot foods) are discounted 25% off! They also sell a bunch of cute items in the store.

Yelp
Fugetsu has a vast variety of bento style plates/bowls to take home. They are reasonably priced, tasty, and gives you the flavors of Japan. The staff is very friendly and the place is clean. Additionally, they have cute trinkets, teacups and plates to buy to take home. Yummy!

Yelp
There's a large range of various food sold here from sushi, onigiris, hot food section to desserts all of these were display nicely & looks really appetizing to eat. The service is pretty straightforward, follow pathway & pick out the food(s) you want & go to the cashier to pay. My friend showed me this place while visiting San Jose & I love it! We came here with one goal in mind of getting the popular onigiris. The portion of the onigiris here are massive & super flavorful! I bought 5 various onigiris and my favorite one would be the spicy salmon onigiri. Would definitely recommend this place if you create onigiris! Definitely will be coming back again when visiting the San Jose area.

Yelp
This is located in a super busy plaza. Parking can be hit or miss as it shares a lot with daiso and mitsuwa. I like taking friends here because Fugetsu and Shalala Deli have a ton of delicious foods and cool knick-knacks as well. Most of the food is under heat lamps, some are refrigerated and some is out at room temperature. They have a good variety of things. You get to go through the whole store and then end at the cashier. Everything is pretty reasonably priced. I wish there were tables but that's alright, I can always go home to eat or eat in the Mitsuwa food court haha.

Yelp
Quality/Quantity - The Yelp pictures of actual products look amazing. And what a huge selection. Then on top of that, you have reasonable prices. Poke Don - I can tell by the rice that this probably was made fairly early today, and we got here at 1pm today. The seafood was fresh. Decent quantity, well more rice than I would have preferred. Rokko Bento - My wife really liked this! And she was only able to eat half, I guess we won't need to go out for dinner tonight! She enjoyed the flavors, etc. The few bites I had, I was not wowed. Shalala Deli - Smoke Salmon Onigiri, my favorite of the 3 dishes. But for $5, it should be; lol. The green on this was still crispy when I finally ate it 5 hours later. My poke don was more than enough food for my lunch. They also sell beer, soju, sake, etc; see picture. Atmosphere - Small prepackaged foods business. Very organized, clearly labeled, etc. Thank you. Semi open kitchen. Mall parking, it can get crazy here, so time your visit accordingly. A restroom hidden in the back, see picture. They also sell non food items, see pictures. Open 7 days a week from 11am to 7:30pm or 8:30pm. Service - Overall good. No returns or exchanges, so make sure you know what you are buying. Price - Reasonably priced for what we got. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2020 at this location. Where is your first restaurant that opened over 60 years ago, Sunnyvale?

Yelp
I stumbled in here because of convenience. Because one day Clover Bakery was closed, and all I wanted was onigiri. Fast forward 5 years later, and I still come here for the large selection of quick snacks and small meals. Snacks that would satisfy me for hours, between meetings or busy hospital visits. I appreciate all the different flavors and the freshness of onigiri here. I tend to favor any of the salmons, shrimp tempura, mackerel, and the Umami flavor onigiri. I'm also a big fan of their Kimbaps, from creamy tuna to bulgogi. These are so easy to eat. And with a medley of flavors - beef, rice, spinach, radish and seaweed - you'd think your getting all the basic food groups all in one large bite. Thanks to others, I've had a taste of their unagi don and yakisoba ...both wonderful treats. There's so much to try here, and yet I still go back to my usual small snacks. I have my eye on Takoyaki for next time!

Yelp
I went here on July 28 with my sisters as a pit stop the same day we went to a K-pop concert at San Jose Civic that very day. We were getting hungry so we decided to stop by here. This was a perfect place to fuel up before the concert after a long drive from my hometown. The place was spectacular. Everything they had to offer was amazing. I might have had onigiri before, but this place was even better. So many good food options other than the onigiri. We got salmon onigiri, scallop onigiri, kimbap, a salmon poke bowl and I believe a chicken katsu bowl. The service was excellent, not super packed, but smooth-sailing. Overall, next time I am in San Jose, I am for sure coming back here

Yelp
Fugetsu is a frequent stop for us - it's so nice to be able to just pop in and grab takeout for dinner/the week. They have a great selection of Japanese takeout/bento, onigiri (rice balls)z skewers/friend food and they even have sushi, poke bowls, desserts, drinks and toys/trinkets. It's best to go early for the best selection of items and before things run out. Some of the items are a bit expensive for takeout, but the quality is always great. No idea how they keep the yolks runny in their egg dishes! Staff are always incredibly warm and helpful. It can be a little squishy when people back in, but everyone is respectful and go through the market quickly. So happy we found Fugetsu and return again and again!
google avatar

Yelp
Good quality prepared bento meals for a grab and go place! I love to come by on the days I haven't planned dinner or if I'm grabbing something to take to the park. There's literally some thing for everyone here, even for the vegans! This place is well organized, well labeled, and the cashiers handle transactions quickly! Good food, reasonable prices, easy parking... it's everything I want in a "grab and go" type restaurant! No indoor seating here. There is a food court at the front of nearby Mitsuwa Market where you can sit and eat if you are looking for a nearby place.
google avatar

Yelp
A convenient grab and go Japanese market. They have a good selection of bento boxes, onigiri, sushi and other items. It was my first time trying this place. I got to try the rokku bento and okonomiyaki bento. I like how it's an easy grab and go spot. But the bentos I've tried were too salty.
google avatar

Brandi H.

Yelp
The vibe of this place was a convenience store grab and go. There were so many different options from onigiri to poke bowls. It is located in a plaza with other stores and restaurants so there is a parking lot. There isn't any seating inside but there are benches around the plaza. Poke don (3.5/5): The salmon was pretty good. The yellowtail(?) was whatever. I liked the addition of the seaweed salad and masago. I thought the sauce was going to be soy sauce but it was thicker so it was like an eel sauce. Eel don (4/5): The eel was pretty good. Tender and paired well with the rice. Good portion. Karaage (5/5): The chicken was nicely fried. The pieces were huge. It came with a little pack of kewpie mayo. There were some small fried potatoes too. I like the concept. Just a bunch of different meals and snacks. It is a good place to grab a quick bite. I saw them restocking some items so I think they do that throughout the day. They also had a lot of cute homeware and toys like blind boxes.
google avatar

Yelp
My coworker put me on, and im hooked! So convenient to pop in, grab what you want when you're hungry, dip and get stuffed (sometimes have leftovers for another meal). Food is well balanced, flavorful, and cooked to perfection and kept hot, too! Workers are nice, they have other retail things for sale, other snacks and drinks too. Overall great quality!
google avatar

Jesse V.

Yelp
This place is awesome if you like Japanese food stop by and try out the different freshly prepared rice balls, and other dishes. I recommend the unagi rice bowl. Food is always warm. Plenty of seafood and non pork items.
google avatar

Frank F.

Yelp
Nice people and really good Japanese food. It's not a big place but the variety and taste of the food is really good. The prices are reasonable. You have to arrive early as the food gets sold out.
google avatar

Wendy T.

Yelp
Is this heaven??? They have everything made fresh daily. Come early and don't miss out! Endless options of bentos, onigiris, etc. Everything is so good! There is even a section to grab your own tempura. They also have some merchandise for sale. Lots of cute things to look at! Just pick up whatever you want and bring it to the cashier to pay. Perfect grab and go spot with yummy and healthy meals/snacks. Free parking lot available.
google avatar

Leanna V.

Yelp
I got so excited to try this place because of all the good reviews. We ordered the Poke Don which included salmon, tuna, hamachi, and masago. It might be an off day but the fish was really fishy. I was able to taste and smell the fishiness and it did not taste fresh at all. My tummy did not feel well afterwards. I might give this place a try again and I'll try to come in when it first opens to see if the quality is different.
google avatar

Yelp
Fugetsu is located in the same plaza as Mitsuwa and the parking is kind of tight. There is a large selection of bentos and onigiri available here. I grabbed two onigiri rolls- panko shrimp and a vegetarian one. They were the perfect quick and handy snacks.
google avatar

Lloyd C.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this reincarnation of Fugetsu by chance. A convenient store concept of pre-packed prepared foods, like bentos, rice bowls, yakisoba, kushikatsu, okonomiyaki, takoyaki, onigiri, etc. Pick up your shopping basket and you sorta go around in a line and eventually end up at the cashier. They have drinks, snacks, toys, and other miscellaneous items. I love this store as it reminded me of Japan or Shirokiya/Yaohan in Oahu. I did pick up a Sake & Ikura Onigiri. The rice was expertly prepared and cooked. The shiso leaf gave it a nice flavor. If you like Ikura, you enjoy the popping of the little eggs in your mouth followed by the briny & savory taste of your salmon caviar! Yum.

Yelp
This is the place if you're looking for something to grab and go. All their food is packed in containers and ready to eat. They have a variety of options to pick from. Mainly Japanese food, with bento boxes, and donburi bowls. This place is located inside a plaza, so no need to worry about parking.

Yelp
Went for Lunch Food - 5/5. Their kushikatsu are so good! From the batter to the meat, everything is of high quality. My favorite is the pork as it has a very satisfying bite while being snappy from the crunchy batter. Its tender and the rich flavor of pork fits so well with the piquant dipping sauce. Squid is also fantastic having a delicate yet firm texture and the crab cream had a great seafood flavor with some subtle sweetness. Of all their onigiri, their mackerel is the best one. The charring gives the mackerel flavor and firms up the fish to have a satisfying bite. This rich taste is perfect to pair with the large amount of rice. Gyusuki fusion bowl was a fun way to try their okonomiyaki. Beef was tender and the okonomiyaki was sweet and savory. There was a generous amount of beef so each bite had a great ratio of different flavors and textures. Service - 4/5. It operates like a deli where you browse and select your items to bring to the counter for purchasing. There is no area to dine inside but benches can be found around the shopping plaza. Value - 5/5. Kushikatsus are $3 each, which is why I find that the pork has the best value, being the biggest. Onirgiris tend to be around $5~$6 and the larger items are usually in the mid $10s. Portion sizes are huge, there is a big selection of different items and the food is delicious. Excellent Japanese "deli"! Parking - Mall Lot (Free)

Yelp
A cute market that has a variety of food (seafood rice dishes, udon, etc). Avoid closing time because most likely, there will very limited options. However, they have adorable utensils and a couple of t-shirts for purchase. Not a big store and a bit tight inside, but food is tasty. FYI: it is on the saltier side. Not sure how I feel their peach juice/sparkling water. It's not good but not bad either. Maybe I'll try another flavor next time but for now, that's TBD. Staff are short but polite, but maybe they're just tired. I was very tempted to get one of their desserts Vegas of their mascarpone cream; however, not a fan of red bean. I just love this place because there's always so many options to choose from, but will have to be back in the day time to see other dessert options. I just hate the parking here.

Yelp
I had a delicious lunch from here with my boyfriend! We enjoyed all the food we bought. Fugetsu always has fresh, flavorful Japanese food that is super portable and conveniently packaged to take to-go. I'd highly recommend getting food here for a picnic! * Tuna and Salmon Box Sushi: 5/5 Fish tasted so fresh and high quality! The rice underneath was the perfect soft, fluffy texture and nicely seasoned. This box comes with a LOT of masago, which is a plus! It added a pleasant salty, briny flavor to an otherwise very simple dish. $15 for this is a great price considering it's a generous portion of rice and fish! * Takoyaki: 5/5 One of the best I've tried outside of Japan. Soft without being mushy, and very flavorful. If I had to nitpick, I would prefer more bonito flakes on top. * Cold Mentai Pasta (mini size): 5/5 Perfectly cooked pasta with a lightly creamy flavor. Not too heavy or salty. This would be a perfect side dish for a picnic or lunch to-go! Service was quick and friendly. I'll definitely be back soon to try their many other options!

Yelp
I usually buy family set when I don't want cook. A lot of items in the big container. I recommend pre order online. Because those are fresher than sitting on the counter. Also family size Chirashizushi is good deal. Food is good enough for the price.
google avatar

Yelp
There are so many unique things at this store. Lots of cool onigiri and many different boxes of food that you can choose from. I love that half the store is dedicated to just food and the other half for little japanese gadgets/anime/stationary/kitchen things. It's pretty nice. But for the food, they have variety to choose from and a plethora of items to select. From different variations of onigiri that look pretty nice, bento boxes, Hawaiian food boxes, okonomiyaki, noodles, etc, there's a lot. I ended up getting two onigiri later during the day and I was honestly pretty satisfied. It's a pretty good convenience store rice ball if you ask me. But if you want the popular stuff, you gotta come early. I will definitely make my next visits when I am back!
google avatar

Yelp
Love this little spot that serves Togo food! The food is super tasty and has lots of flavor. I would recommend getting the jellyfish salad, Salmon Sakura, and the Cold pasta. You just grab what you want and pay at the front! Service is super nice. Would recommend if you want quick Japanese food to go.

Yelp
Wow! I wished I've known of this place sooner. Always wanted to try okonomiyaki but didn't think I would like all the cabbage and didn't want to how expensive it could be. So, Fugetsu allowed me to try 3 different okonomiyaki for about $15 with their sampler. The sampler bento had 3 types: beef, cheese and shrimp. The beef one was the best with good ratio of meat and veggies. The sauce had a sweet and soy sauce flavor. The thnky sliced beef was also tender in and had very good flavor. Both meet and sauce went really well with the cabbage. The cheese and the shrimp ones were pretty mildly flavored aside from the okonomiyaki sweet sauce. The shrimp one had 3 small shrimp on top; shrimp was not mixed in with the cabbage. They also had a huge variety of onigiris. I tried the tempura shrimp onigiri and it was also pretty good. There was also a big selection of bentos which I didn't get but it gives me a reason to return. The bentos came in different sizes and different combinations of seafoods, beef, chicken, pork, and veg. They even had a loco moco which is a Hawaiian disn. Nice set up that you don't have to wait for the food. You can just walk along the pre boxed meals and pick what you want from the shelves. You can see what the food looks like right away which is a plus. They had a couple of desserts but I didn't get any. Price is reasonable. The food I got were yummy. They also have non food items for sale along the walls. The merchandise had Japanese design and characters. Friendly and patient staff at the counter. She was ready to help and greeted customers as they enter the store. Will definitely return to try the other food.

Yelp
Just do yourself a favor and come here now. There is something for everyone. We were next door to get some spaghetti sandwiches and had to stop by since I was acting purely on impulse at this point. I do not remember what we got, but it was a beef dish. Tess said it was like a pancake. I didn't know what I was eating, and it took us 2 days to finish it, but it was so good. It came w/ a thick sauce to mix w/ the beef and your base. The clam chowder croquette is a must. It's crispy on the outside and oozing w/ delicious clam chowder on the inside. If I could, I would have gotten multiple items, but Tess held me back. I'm so glad we stopped by though. If you want sushi, bento box, something w/ noodles, something w/ rice, something fried, onigiri, skewers, the list goes on and on. It's quite crazy! Come early because parking is terrible.

Yelp
My new favorite place to grab onigiri & -dons! Amazing quality ingredients and they stay fresh. I'm a fan of the mentaiko & unagi onigiri. I really enjoy the flavors but also the quality of the rice. The place also has a ton of super cute trinkets and kitchenware! I'm always excited to come back here.

Yelp
Cutest Japanese marketplace!! Has so many options for bento boxes, sushi, and food to take to go, plus lots of cute trinkets and special character items, such as miffy, sanrio, mofusand, etc. Parking on crowded days and finding places to sit and eat are the only issues.
google avatar

Maggie G.

Yelp
I passed by this place quite a few times but never made it in until this weekend. I was impressed with the variety of bento boxes and Onigiri available. The back of the store also has freshly made Taiyaki! Reasonably priced and restroom is available in the back of the store. Friendly and helpful staff to answer questions since I am not familiar with some of the Japanese names on the labels. Definitely a good choice for a quick stop for lunch since is close to work!

Yelp
So so good! I am so impressed by Fugetsu. It feels like one of those Asian bakeries where you pick up ready made food to go, except this shop sells an abundance of different Japanese foods! They have tons of different bento boxes, okonomiyaki, sashimi dons, desserts, appetizers (like takoyaki, potato salads, croquettes), and onigiri! I picked up lunch there today, and bought a salmon don, spicy tuna + hamachi don, a few onigiri (eel, mentaiko salmon, mayo shrimp, tuna), and matcha warabi dessert. The sashimi dons were both better than I've had at some restaurant -- fish slices were all nice and fatty, and tasted pretty fresh! I liked the eel and mentaiko onigiri the best, and loved the matcha warabi mochi. A very satisfying lunch. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
this place is so amazing i came back two days in a row. i can't imagine a day i will drive down saratoga ave and not try to stop in to pick something up. parking can get crazy on the weekend, sharing a lot with daiso and supermarket. but it's totally worth it. all the onigiri are delicious with super soft rice and generous fillings. the sushi is pretty good quality as well, better than most asian makers for similar price. the chirashi was an especially good deal. everyone who works here is super friendly and helpful as well.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place when searching for Japanese food with my son. I'll admit I was super overwhelmed by all the choices of hot food boxes and onigiris. We both went at it and picked a bunch of things. It's self-serve so you grab a basket and then pay everything at the counter. I will say skip the sushi. The lion king and rainbow rolls were mediocre and the rice texture was definitely lacking. The actual sashimi was good though (salmon toro), so their sushi rice is not very good is my deduction. Stick with the onigiris and hot food! This place can get quite busy as a swarm of people started to come in behind me so best to come during an off peak lunch or dinner rush!

Yelp
Whenever I'm in the area, I make sure to stop by Fugetsu and pick up a few bento boxes and Kimbap. They have such a big selection of prepared food, it's hard to pick one thing. My go-to is the creamy tuna kimbap and California kimbap. The imitation crab in the California Kimbap is pretty flavorful, I actually prefer that over a California roll. Recently, I tried the kimchi fried rice with fried chicken and it was pretty good! Definitely will be adding that to the rotation.

Yelp
Amazing quality & value!! I was a bit skeptical about the fresh sushi but I am so glad I got it. The fish is fresh, and there are so many options for entrees and sides. The store is set up so you go around once and then it's the checkout line. I couldn't help but walk back and forth because there's so many amazing options. I went during lunch with coworkers for something quick and another time in the afternoon - everything goes on sale toward the end of their business hours! I got sushi again when I went in the afternoon and it tasted just as fresh. Would definitely go back to pick up dinner.

Yelp
Came here a few times when I visited for snacks and mofusand but the place is smaller than I thought so if there are more than a few people inside it feels like I'm always in the way of someone. I do like their selection of food and they had lots of cute stuff as well!! I was able to get my first mofusand items here!! I went back for their takoyaki and bulgogi kimbap!!

Yelp
Fugetsu - truly a treasure trove of food and Knick knacks. Located right next to Clover Bakery, Fugetsu offers many different types of Japanese food to go and the most dangerous part is they all look so delicious! As you gaze and prowl the many food options available, you'll soon find yourself towards the back of the store where they have many Miffy branded items available as well as a variety of character cups and other items. Fugetsu was not on our radar when we came on a Saturday morning, but boy am I glad our curiosity got the best of us! Along with a few non food items, we also picked up a couple rice balls (looked and tasted better than the ones at Clover tbh) and a yakisoba dish. There's 2 cashiers so check out was pretty fast. Food was good, although I wish there was a place to sit and eat, but it's more of a grab and go kind of vibe.

Yelp
I saw that there was onigiri in this to go shop on Instagram and immediately knew I wanted to see it myself. I think it's a convenient japanese meal shop. They have $5 eel onigiri and other onigiris when you come in. It's better than the eel bento in my opinion due to enormous amount of eel. Then the takoyaki balls were ok. They were in the hot bar. Not that hot or fresh but still okay to eat. My sister saw that a tiny corner had hot croquettes and fried food. She took a plastic container and picked some up. I'd come back here for the onigiris as they are bigger and better. And the fried foods in the corner of the store.

Yelp
I've been eyeing this spot for AGES and I finally got to try it with my dad. Like me, he had no idea what to expect, but when we walked in, we were welcomed with SO MANY options. By "so many," I mean SOOOO MANY. There were rice plates with tonkatsu, different types of Okonomiyakis, sashimi (bowls and plates), kimbap, onigiri, and probably so much more. It took me a while to decide. There were also cute goodies on the way to the check out (Lots of miffy stuff!). It is a bit pricey, but pretty decent portions, and it was a fun experience. Will be back!
