"One of eight restaurants from the reliable Quincy-based JP Fuji Group, Fuji at Assembly mostly focuses on Japanese food, including a wide range of sushi, but also offers some Sichuan and Chinese-American classics. Diners with some extra cash can make a reservation for the Japanese omakase — leave the decision-making to the chef — where an eight-course meal is $200. (A couple smaller options are also available.)" - Terrence Doyle

I have had dinner here many times with my family and colleagues, as we live nearby. The food is always delicious, the service is impeccable, and the atmosphere is lovely. We have ordered many things on the menu, and all of them have been tasty. We particularly like the avocado and crab meat salad, sashimi, beef and broccoli, and vegetable dumpling soup.

Amazing food with variety of options. the drinks were great too. I can’t wait to come back to try something new again.

Fuji at Assembly impresses with a great menu featuring eclectic dishes prepared by a very good chef. The Fuji boat, designed for four people, is a must-try, showcasing very fresh selections. The friendly staff enhances the overall dining experience, making it a positive destination for those seeking diverse and delicious options.

Google
Amazing food at good prices. I highly recommend the lunch special bento! Comes with a great variety for an amazing price. Definitely worth checking this restaurant out if you have time!

They should have a food inspector check this place for the rat running around 🐀. I had the Fuji Don and Rib Eye Clay Pot, which were both okay. I didn’t feel like it was worth it. Immediately upon arrival, there were 3 women at the counter and not one of them greeted or even smiled at us. I felt so awkward, but the server was also avoiding eye contact the entire time, dismissive, and seemed upset. To top it all off, there was a rat scampering around the restaurant and me and a few other guests were terrified. Not worth it and wouldn’t come back.

Google
Food here is very tasty, especially the sushi. However value wise , unclear why entrees are 50% more to almost double what you’d pay at a comparable Asian restaurant. Other than that, nice ambiance and prompt, friendly service

Yelp
Its been so long since I came here and they still maintain excellent service, great quality sushi, and cleanliness! I like that they present a casual fine dining experience where you get great service in a casual setting. Our server was very nice and super attentive to our needs. I had a couple things modified and swapped out in the lunch menu and they were very nice and got everything right. I really enjoyed the Seared Special Lunch that comes with a spicy tuna roll, 2 seared tuna nigiri and 2 seared salmon nigiri. The nigiri were beautiful and it tasted so good seared. This is the lunch item I swapped the spicy tuna out for a spicy salmon roll with no trouble at all. The Makimono Combo Lunch features three rolls which is a great portion to keep you full and your taste buds satisfied! I definitely recommend the bento boxes to everyone because the box is beautiful and comes with a huge variety of items such as edamame, tempura, a salad, a soup, and 3 pieces of sushi! A great item! Overall this is a great modern Asian restaurant and I enjoy the presentation, service, and ambiance.

Yelp
The presentation of the sushi is stunning. It's fresh, tasty, and the service is great too. The prices are a little high but worth it.

Yelp
New/Updated Review! Fuji at Assembly is the sushi spot I hold pretty much all other sushi spots to. Fuji at Assembly never disappoints. Well staffed, well run. The thing that really sets Fuji apart is the actual, physical set up. There is a big, full bar right up front with views out the windows and two flat screen TVs (I like a bar with TVs...). They have a good selection of Sake and Japanese Whiskeys. There is also a sushi bar if you prefer that. And an open concept, large dining room. I am a bar sitter. I will always choose the bar because I also like to actually talk to people. Fuji at Assembly has the vibe of a nice, friendly neighborhood bar, with excellent food. (Which is pretty unusual. Especially when that food is sushi/Japanese/Chinese/Singaporean...) Assembly Row is a great area and if you spend enough time at any of the restaurants you will discover there is an entire community here. It is always a nice, fun, chill vibe to be part of here. But on top of that there is a LARGE menu that has ALL the sushi: simple pieces, complex pieces, simple rolls, HUGE rolls. Extensive vegetarian selections. But also a wide selection of cooked items: wok tossed AMAZING things; rices, noodles. You name it. Honestly their menu should be big goalz for everyone trying to run a spot like this. But you also need to have the staff to execute your menu and I have never had a single thing here that wasn't just excellent. And I've eaten my way through a lot, a lot of this menu my friends! I need to arrive at Fuji Assembly with a plan for what I'm going to eat. Because I mainly always want to get the Wok Tossed Vegetarian dish (Pro Tip: ask for extra garlic!). It is hard to explain the straight Deliciousness of this dish. Every bite is pure joy. Portions are generous here, so to eat a Wok Tossed dish you can't get carried away with appetizers. Or pieces of sushi. Gotta map out your approach. Did I mention there are soups? Yeah, I love good soup also. And Fuji has multiple soups I can order even though I don't eat beef, pork or poultry. Which is, honestly, unheard of. Fuji's menu is designed with so many options for vegetarians/pescatarians that is can be overwhelming. Crazy Town!! I often think I should try new and different restaurants. But it's hard to make myself pass up an opportunity to spend time at Fuji Assembly...

Yelp
Came here for dinner on a Saturday evening and we were lucky that there wasn't much of a line so we got a table relatively quickly. Parking wasn't too had either which was nice given Assembly has a lot of space. Ambiance felt clean and modern - tons of seating and space in this large restaurant. The menu had a good mix of sushi and other Japanese options but we settled on sushi as the main focus of our meal. The service was quick with orders, but the food took extremely long to come out despite us not ordering that much. The portion was very tiny compared to the price - definitely felt overly expensive as the quality was just okay. Presentation looked decent at the very least, but the meal itself definitely didn't feel worth it. Overall, I probably wouldn't return. I'm glad I experienced this spot, but if looking for sushi, I'd probably go elsewhere at this price point for either more food or just better quality fish and service.

Marlette C.

Yelp
Found this place on Yelp and decided to go here since the reviews were good. The interior is beautiful, well-lit, modern & up-scale looking, and spacious even with all the dining tables. The service was great - very friendly staff and food came out quick. The food was expensive and not very good. We ordered the roto sampler, which has 1 piece of each hamachi toro, sake toro, suzuki toro, chicken teriyaki, and miso soup. The toto sampler had very thin slices of each toro on a huge plate. I wish I had taken a picture. Such a huge plate with little fish. They need to rethink their plating. Fish was just ok too. Toro is supposed to be fatty. These were not very fatty, which was disappointing. At least, it tasted fresh. The chicken teriyaki was bland and looked and tasted boiled. The menu says it's grilled, but there are no char marks and no smokey flavor that comes from grilling. Also the chicken itself lacked flavor. It was pale slices of chicken breast doused with teriyaki sauce to give it flavor. The miso soup was the only thing I really enjoyed.

Yelp
Everyone in the area knows Fuji as absolute sushi legends. Everyone's got a go to order. Below is ours! Lychee martinis or sake! General gaos chicken with a side of white rice. Maki Moro super combo sushi rolls. Super underrated-- pork belly + scallions!! GET IT. We have excellent service at all times for take out, at the bar or for dinner. We love it here and you will to.

Katherine R.

Yelp
Fuji is one of my go-to sushi spots! Parking is easy, the food is great and the restaurant is very pretty. It's a good date spot. You really can't go wrong with the miso soup, crab rangoon, house friend rice, udon noodle, salmon avocado roll, or the aloha maki. Those are my favorites! I will say I don't love the tuna at this location. I think the salmon is incredible, and I used to say this was the best spicy tuna roll in the Boston area but the roll feels like it has too much filler in it now and the tuna is a bit tasteless so I focus on salmon based rolls now and I am not disappointed!!

William C.

Yelp
I'm usually a bit wary about "pan-Asian" restaurants that serve food from many different Asian countries, but I was pleasantly surprised here. I started with a Whiskey Lowball, which was the right amount of tart and not-too-sweet. Since the weather was cold, rainy, and miserable, I got the Hot & Sour Soup, which was surprisingly some of the best I've had in a long time. For the main course, I got two maki rolls. The caterpillar roll was excellent, with tender eel and ripe avocado. The salmon skin/cucumber roll was mediocre -- the salmon skin tasted burnt, and there was too much unagi sauce on the roll. My wife got chirashi, which had high quality salmon, tuna, and yellowtail (no octopus, which was just fine with her!), along with 4 kinds of fish roe. My daughter got the chicken udon stir-fry, and she cleaned the plate (high praise coming from her). Service was quick and friendly. Atmosphere is very casual -- seems more fitting for a business lunch than date night.

Ivany S.

Yelp
The food was very good. The service was fast and efficient. The ambiance was pleasant. All is all I had a good experience and would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Japanese food.

Kenneth C.

Yelp
Great restaurant and friendly service. I've been twice and was pleased both times with how accommodating the staff is. The food was excellent with every dish we tried there though the edamame could use more salt.

Neeka P.

Yelp
This meal was so good. Some of the best pan fried gyoza I've ever had. It was the perfect texture and the sauce had such a good tangy flavor too. The udon was also delicious, probably an 8/10. Overall I'd definitely come back!!

Nabeel M.

Yelp
Came in looking for good sushi - was not disappointed. Great looking restaurant, feel and ambiance. Started off with their miso soup, which hit the spot. Followed up with a few sushi rolls including their Philly roll and sashimi. Service was great - waiter would come around continuously to check up on us and make sure the meal was going well. He also provided a few recommendations for us after we asked. Very reasonably priced, will be returning!

Denise M.

Yelp
The staff and food are amazing! Plenty of gluten free options and cooked to order food make for a delicious meal. We had the mango salmon sushi roll and the Singapore Noodles. Great way to spend the evening sipping warm sake and enjoying a great meal. Highly recommend!

Hebe L.

Yelp
We ordered take out because it's 45 min wait for dine in. The cashier say they never have this much people on a weekday! I waited 15min for my take out! The place is clean and bright! I ordered Rex Sox roll $20.5 and Fuki roll for $10.5! Their more expensive rolls and the cheaper rolls taste pretty much the same, the difference is the presentation!

Jenny T.

Yelp
Food: 11/10! I had Fuji @ Kendall before COVID and thought it was VERY meh/small portion/average quality but definitely seen a BIG improvement here since then! The sushi rolls were all delicious... The fish (sashimi) quality was 11/10, not too much rice, and even the avocado felt fresh. The side salad felt really fresh too, and I liked the dressing a lot. Even the miso soup was good! (I try to avoid it though b/c high sodium) Overall no complaints about the sushi / sashimi / salad! Service: Our food was really fast, and our server was super friendly and patient! Ambiance: We sat inside, during a Wednesday 2pm and it was pretty empty. The inside of the restaurant is very Japanese-y, lots of bright light and outdoor seating is available as well. It's in a great location too, I love Assembly! Overall, 11/10, would recommend & come back!

Yelp
LETS GET INTO IT! Fuji is the coziest spot to come grab a bite to eat. Amazing sushi options and drink menu is great as well . I do not drink but will review the food ;) I ordered the lobster Rangoon and tempura maki (4) . The lobster Rangoon was sooo yummy . The creamy texture and crispiness of the Rangoon blended so well together. Highly recommend. For those who are not aware 4 is the amount of sushi you will be getting so pay attention to the menu as some makis come with (6) . It was lunch time for me so I chose the 4 and it was so delicious!! The pieces are the nice and big in size. I highly recommend this restaurant. If you are in assembly row please stop by . Parking is all over so no need to worry about that as there are spots along the building and across the street from legal . If you do choose to go across the street from legal it's like a 3 min walk so ladies if you are wearing heels beware ( short distance but the cold and wind was getting to me ahaha ) Enjoy !!!

Kenny D.

Yelp
I ordered the Boat I, which was a pretty good value for $55. It included an array of sushi and sashimi. The quality of the food was just ok, some pieces were good and other were either too soft or didn't taste overly fresh. The inconsistency was concerning. Not sure I'll visit again, but it was a decent experience given I had a taste for sushi.

Steven W.

Yelp
3-Hour Complimentary Parking in the shopping mall plaza or indoor garage. Located at Assembly Row with other shops and restaurants. Beautiful open concept modern decor with a romantic classy vibe. Doesn't have the stuffy feeling. They also have a bar to sit at. We made reservations on a Saturday for lunch. Menu is extensive and has your standard sushi classics, from maki rolls, handrolls, bento boxes (7 days a week), nigiri, sashimi, udon noodles, and so much more Appetizers are amazing and we enjoyed the spicy seafood fried rice, salmon belly toro, and the chicken teriyaki bento box. Great service and food came out relatively quick too.

Yelp
Interesting response from the team at Fuji. Interestingly enough, the response started with things unrelated to my claim. However since you brought it up, congratulations to the Fuji group for their growth and thank you for what you do for the communities you serve. But let's get back to my point. Maybe slick isn't the right word. Maybe it's unaware instead. See the assessment of why the "additional tip" appears on a receipt you ask customers to sign for orders made through Toast is incorrect. First, Toast does not require business owners to obtain a signature from customers as the transaction is charged and paid for (including collection of tips) in the Toast app. Of the 100+ restaurants I've ordered from in the last 2 years on Toast, Fuji is the only one which presents a receipt with "additional tip" upon customer pick up. The only one. Now, want proof? See the frequently asked questions on Toast's website. The image attached answers that question. Second, interestingly enough you mention limitations of your POS in that the "Tip" line appears on all receipts- even for Toast orders which are fully paid. However you go on to say that the team edited the line to read "Additional Tip." So are you implying the limitation allows you to add any text before or after the word "Tip?" I'm not a stranger to hardware and software. Post the name of your POS software and version number. I'm sure I can find a solution. In the meantime, seeing how fully admit to being able to edit the "tip" text, why not update that to "thank you for your tip" seeing how you already collected it through Toast. Your response to my initial review is a slick attempt to cover the team's deliberate attempt to collect more tips from unsuspecting customers or it's a slick attempt to cover up the lack of awareness around how Toast works. I'll keep the review up. Thank you for trying to get me to "see the other side." Hopefully the team learns something here.

Yelp
Came here for lunch after kayaking nearby. We were seated pretty quickly as it was about half full on a Saturday around noon. Since my friend has celiac disease, it was very convenient to have the menu explicitly labeled as to what is gluten free and not. We shared the salt and pepper calamari, general gao chicken, and house fried rice. Everything was well seasoned with salt, sweetness. Apparently the chicken had come out the best my friends have had before so that was a plus. We shared eel unagi and a spider maki which were consistent with most sushi spots but not anything special. Overall, good experience with a very kind waiter. I wouldn't mind coming again the next time I'm in the area.

Sam K.

Yelp
Amazing! It's my favorite sushi I've ever had. Drinks are great. The atmosphere is great. Seared salmon belly melts in your mouth, and you will never be the same.

Jon M.

Yelp
Great choice for a group with mixed preferences - both sushi and typical Chinese dishes plus some interest unique pan Asian offerings. Ambience A+. Food very good but not superb. Chinese dish too salty. Be aware the sauce that accompanies the dumplings was very good. Food came out quick - a little too quick in my opinion, felt rushed. Conveniently assembly square location

Rosie Q.

Yelp
Located in Assembly Row, this contemporary spot was a modern approach to Japanese cuisine. They have an extensive menu consisting of sushi, wok-tossed cuisine, lunch specials, and dinner entrees. They do have cocktails but it's very limited. They don't deviate from the menu. Mainly serves wine, beer, and sake. I asked about whiskey but they ran out or don't have it anymore, it wasn't clear. Price wise was expensive. Street parking is hard to find but there are multiple garages around that free up to 3-hour parking. Cocktails- Not a huge fan. Sugary juice mixture and spirits. Shrimp Tempura- My nephew loves shrimp tempura but something about this batter he wasn't feeling. He only ate the shrimp. Volcano Maki- Four pieces of tuna, and avocado, topped with red crab roll with tobiko, drizzled in unagi sauce, spicy mayo, and tempura bits. We did like the combination of flavors. Rowing Down the Mystic- Spicy red crab and tobiko mix, topped with seared salmon, scallion, and popcorn shoots, drizzled with unagi. It's okay. Toro Sampler Nigiri- Hamachi toro, sake toro, Suzuki toro. A must-try. Sake Negi & Lemon Nigiri- Salmon, scallion & lemon. Excellent. Overall Service: Only our server was pleasant. It's not the place where I should have taken my sister and nephew but they were craving Japanese food. We just happened to be in the area. It has a fancy pants vibe that felt stuffy. I don't think I would go here myself.

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant. The food is consistently phenomenal and I just can't say enough good things about Jim. He is the epitome of exceptional customer service. Jim is always friendly, thoughtful, proactive, and remembers all the small details that make such a huge difference. He is an excellent listener and delivers to the max. Jim treats everyone like they're VIP and creates such a fun and enjoyable dining experience. Jim is beyond stellar and amazing. Same goes for Kevin. He has been there for a long time and I just love seeing him and chatting with him. Kevin is an incredible asset to the team. He is consistently warm and engaging with customers and checks in often to make sure everyone is happy. He and Jim even surprised our group with a delicious sorbet dessert, which is so appreciated and it was truly the perfect yummy and refreshing treat after our delicious dinner. Although I don't see him quite as often, I'd also like to give much-deserved credit to Peter V. I was lucky enough to be paired with Peter during a weekday and he is also amazing at what he does. Very welcoming, warm, and attentive. Peter was a pleasure to chat with and his people skills are A++. My family and I love coming to Fuji at Assembly, not just for the amazing food, but because of the high-quality experience these amazing team members provide time and time again.

M.J. C.

Yelp
The sushi is consistently delicious! The restaurant is clean and it is ideally located at Assembly Row.

Maryama I.

Yelp
Be careful with their raw fish. I ordered the Maki lunch on Monday Jan 29th, since I was at assembly row and wanted sushi. It was my first time ordering here and it was not that great, had a weird flavor in some of the rolls. That night i got orange watery diarrhea and started vomiting really badly. I was not able to sleep at all and was really sweaty, dizzy and disoriented, had to lie down by the toilet multiple times to get my bearings. The only new thing I had eaten was the sushi. I was able to get the symptoms controlled with Zofran and Imodium. But then woke up with fecal incontinence that was almost like oil on Wednesday. I have now lost all faith in my external anal sphincter. Can't even trust flatus when you get keriorrhea. I have never had such a bad reaction to sushi before and it makes me nauseated to even think about raw seafood now. I loved sushi and poke bowls, but I don't think I can ever eat them again I have reported this to the health department, but everyone should beware. And make sure to report any food borne illnesses to your local health department so this does not happen to others.

Steven N.

Yelp
Fuji is a modern, clean restaurant with a somewhat austere dining room due to the large open space and "industrial" look. This isn't a place to go for an intimate date or confidential conversation. We came for lunch and had two of the sushi specials. The miso soup and the salad were very average and the maki and nigiri was above average. For the price, I expected a really top-notch dining experience; this wasn't. The food was much better than grocery store sushi and considerably below that of Iron-Chef Morimoto. I'd say it serves a purpose for convenience and a business lunch. Otherwise I wouldn't go out of my way to come again.

Anna M.

Yelp
I've eaten here once, picked up a couple times, and ordered it delivered more times than I'd like to admit. The service is friendly for dine-in and takeout, and I've never had issues w delivery or incorrect items/ingredients w/ delivery. I've had the Frankenstein, Ming's Mango, Katsu spicy tempura, and spicy tuna maki rolls. All super fresh and tasty. To me, it is pricey but worth it especially when I get a 50% discount on Uber eats. I always know I will enjoy it. The miso soup is -fine- I'm newish to the area and this is my favorite sushi place so far.

Laura B.

Yelp
Fresh fried rice..many GF options, sushi delicious... server was knowledgeable and kind. Dedicated GF fryer! Yum! Will be going back!

Reshma K.

Yelp
This is such a fine restaurant if you enjoy sushi and we had a wonderful dining experience here. We were not able to get any reservations online, but were told walk-ins are fine. Thankfully we had no wait time and were seated right away on a Saturday night. I ordered Lavender bees knees and it was the best cocktail I had this year! We also ordered Emperor Whiskey flight and it was good. Steamed shrimp dumplings was a great choice with our drinks. So good and I could have got more! We also ordered 38-piece boat. The variety was amazing and fresh. Loved everything on the boat. It was nicely made and well presented. We enjoyed it a lot! The decor is modern, the ambiance is trendy and service is super. The servers wore masks at all times and were attentive and friendly. I had read previous reviews on the 'surprise' charges from other Yelpers and that didn't happen to us. We were charged for what we ordered. Highly recommend this restaurant if you love sushi.

Unkown T.

Yelp
Who in their right mind thinks this is okay to serve to another human being. Usually the tuna here is so fresh and hot pink ( like it normally is). I do not plan on having food poisoning tonight so this will have a first class ticket to the trash can! What a shame usually it's good here, but after tonight I think I'm all set and mortified of anything else on their menu. Be careful eating here!

Kelle G.

Yelp
Imaginative maki. Excellent service. Best spot in Assembly and ago-to sushi destination.

Kristy S.

Yelp
I had the shu mai, miso soup, tofu Korean stew, the mango salmon sushi... everything was good. Normally in Houston we get an egg for our stew. Not here. The passion fruit rita was good. Good service too. We did make reservations for 10 people. Overall I recommend it

Sharon K.

Yelp
This spot is hands down one of the best sushi restaurants I've been to from west coast to east. First of all, sit at the bar or sushi bar if you can. The staff is so welcoming and gave us super fun insights into Japanese whisky. We even got to try a sample of the Barrel which is hands down the best! Terry the bar manager knows so much about Japanese whisky so don't be afraid to ask some questions! The seared sake toro. I've had seared toro at over 3 dozen different restaurants and this is by far the best I've ever had. The toro absolutely melted in my mouth and was the perfect balance of sweet and salty. Absolutely no greasy taste whatsoever, seriously the best I've ever had. The Frankenstein roll. I'm a huge spicy tuna girl and this roll had the best accessories to the spicy tuna. It was sweet, spicy, crunchy, salty, and amazingly textured. I think this might be the best roll they have here. If you get any roll, get this. Rowing down the mystic. This roll had a salmon finish on top and was flavored so well for a nice salmon roll. It's definitely a sweeter roll so I mixed some wasabi in my soy sauce and that brought this whole roll together (for me). If you like a sweeter roll, this is the one! If you don't, add some wasabi and you can still enjoy it! Seafood fried rice. It's great. A fantastic fried rice. Lychee martini is great (doesn't have that funky fake juice flavor to it). A solid martini. A 100% must see. Kambo approved.

June T.

Yelp
A Pan Asian restaurant that knows how to make sushi . The lunch meals are an amazing deal we got the spicy sushi rolls and all were tasty although not too spicy . Pleasant ambience at Assembly mall.

Meg C.

Yelp
Tried the spicy maki combo and was really disappointed. Tuna, salmon and California roll all essentially tasted the same as they mix the fish with spicy mayo and tempura crunch filler, there was barely any salmon or tuna (see pic). I didn't eat half of the rolls. When I expressed that I was bummed about all the filler the server told me I should have ordered nigiri. I wish they had more of a description so I knew I was getting mostly tempura crunch mayo rolls. I used to come here regularly for lunch and I love the female bartender that's normally there, but this experience turned me off and I won't be returning.

Aakanksha S.

Yelp
Came here for a casual weekday date night. As it's located in Assembly Square, parking and wait times can be problematic on weekends, but we were able to park for free easily and walk in no problem. We ordered the sichuan chili chicken and singapore vermicelli (curry flavored veggie noodles), and they were both great. I will note that the chili chicken was not as spicy as I was hoping for, but that's personal preference.

Oyin A.

Yelp
We enjoyed our meal at Fuji. We had about 10 people there for my aunts dinner and tried 6-8 different dishes. Would skip the mango shrimp- way too sweet. Besides that great friendly service.

Taneja Y.

Yelp
Fuji is a staple in our household. Love the shumai, gyoza and Singapore noodles; oh and the fried cheesecake. Yum! Haven't had a bad dish at this place.

Claire N.

Yelp
Absolutely love coming here. Sat at the bar and had an awesome time. Seana came over to ensure everything was good and I totally appreciate that! Will be back!

Ashlee R.

Yelp
Fancy version of sushi zushi? Then this is the place for you. Sushi boats galore with a rather small interior limiting how many people can be fit into the restaurant. Food was good, prices were not. Overall I didn't feel value was there since a big part of prices are to cover the experience not just the materials. Service was okay but we didn't get much positive attention from start to finish it was very mediocre while the price tag made me feel like I should have enjoyed myself better and had more options available on the menu for vegetarians to enjoy. The environment is clean but has a typical cram in more booth along the walls set up that removes any chance of intimacy or privacy for the guests. The staff was polite but welcoming only in the most basic sense of memorized greetings/responses. As with most places, I felt it was staged with a lot of younger individuals who failed to see opportunities to improve service in lieu of chasing between necessary tasks. As a former young waitress I do not begrudge the sense of companionship developed when working a restaurant position, I do think the sense of responsibility for the position and oversight from management were lacking enough it's become a place to get paid while hanging out between tasks. Much like a child doing chores to earn screen time, the intention is only to do as much as is required to earn the desired reward, but very little intention to go beyond what is specifically requested. So at the end of the day I'd come back and suggest to others it's a good back up, but for the price I'd be a bit more demanding of All the staff to include the absent management presence missing from my first visit.

Alissa D.

Yelp
This place has some of the best sushi around! I have done takeout and eaten in the restaurant and it's great for both-- the restaurant is chic and good for a quick dinner with friends after shopping at assembly. I love the spicy tuna roll & the salmon avocado. Best part when you order takeout-- the extra sauces like spicy Mayo or eel sauce, are free! Also the lobster rangoons are amazing! I wish I lived closer because I'd be there every night.

Erin W.

Yelp
So, my most recent experience here ... could've been better ... by a lot. I have been here 3 other times. Those 3 experiences were pretty good ... with decent sushi. Fuji is a little hyped up, but the service had always been good, which always led to my return. Unfortunately, I have nothing good to say about the service this time. I had attended a friend's Birthday dinner this past Thursday, and our server was the most rude server I have had a in awhile. I've actually been waiting to write this review ... in hopes that my negative feelings for this experience would subside. Unfortunately, I am still very disappointed ... and quite frank, angry. I wish I got the server's name. He was very tall with glasses and was working the back portion of the restaurant. Not only did he rush us throughout the entire meal ... never staying long enough to hear our requests, he also said some pretty rude comments throughout our meal. My friend, the Birthday girl, is allergic to avocados, and wanted to order something in edition to her sushi, so she asked what was available that wasn't sushi and without avocados. The waiter rudely replied with, "WATER". I don't know if he was trying to be funny, but he was not ... nor was he helpful. Another one of my friends was enjoying some cocktails throughout the evening ... which was also met with some unpleasant comments from our waiter. For reference, and not that it should matter at all, my friend took public transportation and was behaving very mature (not tipsy at all), but whenever she ordered another drink, the waiter had to make a comment about how much she was drinking. FIRST, I don't think he would have done that to a guy, and SECOND, what the heck?! I don't know if this server had an issue with alcohol, but when I tried to order some sake bombs for the Birthday girl and my friends, he made it extremely difficult. Apparently they do not have sake bombs here, which is fine, but don't make us feel bad or like we're hassling you for ordering several draft beers and a couple carafes of sake. That's really not a lot for a party of 9-10. Also, having been a server in the past, everyone knows that you want people to order drinks because it really hikes up the bill ... which in the end should increase your tip. So, sir, who I hope to never have serve me again, PLEASE do not be so judgmental. Honestly, we all left feeling pretty crappy, which really is unfortunate since we were there for my friend's Birthday. I should give this 1 star based on our experience and all of the rude comments and glares, but I have had good service here before. I even had my own Birthday here last year and had a lovely experience. Unfortunately, I was not much into Yelp-ing then I am hoping that this is a one time mishap ... like maybe he was just having a bad day. However, I probably will steer clear from here for awhile, since there are so many other sushi places.

Yelp
we had a fantastic lunch here. Parking is so easy, park in the garage next to Saks and go out the Saks exit and you'll be next to the restaurant. Kevin was our server and he was attentive, friendly and made awesome suggestions. We got the hibiscus drink which was so good. The tays tee roll was 10/10- I would come back just for this roll. The lobster Rangoons were very good and actually tasted like lobster which we loved. Would totally come here again.

Yelp
Incredible sushi. Quite possibly my best sushi experience outside of Tokyo. Definitely will be back.

Yelp
This is our go to for everything, Mother's Day, date night, to eat some amazing food before hitting the movies. Everything here is amazing, sushi, drinks, dessert, I'm always happy when I know I'm going to Fuji.

Yelp
Boston has a lot of sushi places, so it's hard to find that perfect combination of quality, value, variety, and reliability. Fuji at Assembly hits quality and variety perfectly - just slightly higher on the price scale for me to commit to a full five stars. If I lived close enough to be a regular and had the same experience each time, I'd probably bump it up to a five! We split these three menu items between three people and were pretty full by the end. My favorite was the salmon with wonton chips - tasty salmon dip with perfectly crispy wonton chips. Everything else was tasty, but nothing spectacular. Our server was efficient and really nice as well. Would definitely return!

Yelp
Visited a couple of weeks ago and forgot to review. Great ambiance and service. Very knowledgeable staff when it comes to food allergies. We are gluten free and waiter was able to point out what we should avoid from the menu. Everything was delicious, fresh and manu gluten free options. The drinks were great too. Will be returning soon

Yelp
Great food, very fresh sushi and rolls. Loved it! Also, good kids meal option as well. My kids liked their teriyaki chicken with rice.

Yelp
I was a fan of this place! Located on Assembly Row, it's a convenient spot to get sushi after shopping etc. The staff was very friendly, and they have plenty of things available on their menu. They have a nice selection of appetizers - my friend and I shared the seaweed salad and a salmon appetizer. Both were moist and delicious - super flavorful! I ordered a vegetable maki dinner and it was good and affordable. The asparagus was a bit hard, but nothing to complain about other than that. My friend ordered chicken teriyaki and also loved it. The mochi ice cream for dessert is delicious!! Also had a very nice presentation (like all of the dishes did). I wish they had more flavors though, since they have only 3 to pick from :( but definitely try it anyway!! We chose all three to share (strawberry, chocolate, and green tea).
