Great sushi, visited for lunch and really enjoyed the various lunch specials/options. Good quality and a nice variety. I especially loved the seared options. Highly recommended. Will return for sure.

You do not want to miss their newly revamped menu. Sensational flavors and one of a kind plating. The new soft shell crab with the Thai coconut curry was one of the best things I’ve had in a long time. Guacamole and tuna tartar with wonton chips, newly revamped general goas chicken, and the miso honey cod were show stoppers. Tons of flavor that takes you on a culinary journey. Bravo 👏

My son is a patient at Mass General Hospital, and has had several surgeries and very long stays in the last six months. We come from out of state, and any time we are in Boston, it is a tradition to go to Fuji at Kendall. It’s the one thing he always looks forward to. Almost every time, our server has been Alba, and she is fantastic. She always takes great care of us and has great knowledge of the menu. It has a long menu with a variety of raw and cooked food. Located at a prime location close to red line MBTA Kendall/MIT station. Great atmosphere for a catch up with friends. Food is ok and you can find something of similar quality at lower price at other places

Visited this restaurant a few times, close to the Marriott hotel that I usually stay at. Food is good, service depends on the server of that day, not consistent. Get a free special dish hamachi sashimi from the head chef on this visit, fresh and tasty. Appreciate for the surprise.

Best place for sushi. Highly highly recommend getting the Boat if you go with a group. Great choice of appetizers as well. Price range is slightly on the higher side but it’s justified by the setting, the food, the quantity and the place. Wish they had more dessert options other than mochi.

We had an amazing lunch set here, and I believe the value of the lunch set met expectations. The quality of the food is very high and fresh. We really liked the seared salmon sushi; it was delicious.

We enjoyed our dinner at Fuji. Service was prompt and courteous. We had miso soups, edamame, tuna tataki, General Gao chicken, Volcano Roll, Torched Roll, and another one I forget. The food was tasty, but not exceptional. A pleasant experience overall at a convenient location.

I've been here several times and it never disappoints. It's not cheap, but the sushi is delicious, portions are excellent, and the ambiance is great ... More upscale than many sushi restaurants in the area (on the classy side), but it works for any type of dining: date night, lunch, or even bringing your kids. They also have a huge, big bar where you can eat. Short walk from the Kendall T stop with ample street parking.

I came here with coworkers for a quick lunch, and there is a decent amount of dining space, allowing us to seat a large party of over 10 people. After ordering, our food arrived somewhat slowly, but with a large party, this was understandable. I tried a bento box that included California rolls, gyoza, tempura, and a small salad, with a main dish of chicken teriyaki salmon. The portion size was perfect for one, but the taste was not as delicious as I expected for a relatively nice-looking restaurant. I wish it had a little more unique or potent flavors, but overall, it's a good option for an easy lunch!

The sushi here was fresh and delicious! This was one of my favorite spicy tuna rolls that I've ever had, it has a great amount of flavor, crunch, and the portion size is pretty good too. I also got the salmon, tuna, and yellowtail sushi. My favorite was the yellowtail sushi by far. If I order from here again I would probably just get the yellowtail since I liked those much better than the tuna and salmon sushi. I also got the seaweed salad which was very good and was a huge portion! They gave a nice amount of soy sauce on the side and even a little tin boat to put the soy sauce in. The ambiance when I walked in was great and the inside looked super cute. I did takeout so I can't talk too much about service but the hostesses were very nice and the order was ready for pickup at the estimated time.

Not really worth the price. Compared to some other Japanese restaurants like Nagomi or Shiki, this one has higher price and lower quality food. Also, why is the base tip 20%?

This was my second time at Fuji and I got to try a few more sushi rolls. The rolls only came with six pieces each, but they were pretty substantial, especially the makimono specials. In fact, it was a bit of a challenge to eat each piece in one bite! Next time I will have to try some of their non-sushi offerings. I could tell the ingredients were of high quality and the rice was cooked perfectly. They put a good amount of tobiko and other toppings on each piece. I think they could have added a bit less sauce on some of the rolls, especially the eel, because some bites were very sweet. Overall, still a big fan. Good spot for sushi if you're looking for a nicer ambiance. The staff is attentive and helpful, and they are helpful with recommending dishes!

Very nice and clean. I got the drink featured around the restaurant. It was sooo good and pretty presentation with a flower! We also got sushi and the server was very knowledgeable and friendly.

Came here after skating at the Kendall rink and I absolutely loved the sushi, the Mai tai, and the service! Everything was super tasty and the place was quaint. Quick and polite service. The rolls were great. The only thing I wish they had on this menu was the truffle roll they have on the Fuji Inkblock menu but other wise the Flaming Red Maki and Spicy Tuna roll I got were amazing!

Good vibes. Food's average. Wish the bento boxes were available on the dinner menu as well. The sake was on point. Wait staff was slightly uptight. Also, for some reason the cell connectivity disappears inside.

Love Fuji Kendall but it won't be the cheapest sushi meal. The quality is surely worth it however. Personally I just go for the classic rolls so I don't really try anything crazy at any sushi place, so my go tos are salmon avocado and spicy tuna. Both of these dishes are crazy good, and one thing I tried here that I love, is the seared toro nigiri. Oh my god - melt in your mouth so you must try! The sushi and sashimi were not fresh. Absurdly overpriced. The food tastes bad and the size was small. Service was fine and free wifi was provided but I would never go again! Not recommended at all.

Solid sushi spot with full spectrum of Asian fusion entrees and a full bar. On a chilly night, the kimchi soup hits the spot with a nice tuna/avocado/crab roll and you're in business. The salt and pepper calamari was good but actually a lot more chewy than I would've expected. Will definitely come here again and explore the menu a bit further.

THIS PLACE SUCKS. OVER PRICED AND THE FOOD WAS NOT GOOD. spent $65 on two speciality rolls (8 pieces) + salmon maki (8 pieces) and the worst chicken teriyaki of my life. PLUS no miso soup!!!! they forgot it!!!!! the rolls: not good and overpriced. wish i skipped it. does not taste good, not super fresh. teriyaki chicken: chicken was dryer than my humor (huehuehue) & it looked like they just cut up chicken and threw some soy sauce on it (peep the photo if yoh don't believe me) trust me. i will NOT be back. i don't recommend this place. save your money, $65 can get you far better japanese food elsewhere. in fact, I'm sitting w my friend right now talking about how we wish we ordered dominoes instead #life

I came several times when they were running an anniversary promotion and I ended up ordering several things off their non-promo menu. I can confidently say that I have never had a bad dish here; everything is delicious and priced similarly to other restaurants in the area. The vibe seems more upscale, like some place you would go to with a date or for business. They also make really good drinks; I had their Night of the Blood Moon October cocktail (Japanese whiskey, blood orange liqueur, creme de mure, cranberry juice) and the whiskey blended in nicely with the cocktail rather than overpowering the drink.

The sushi was amazing and the service was excellent. I got the eel roll and lobster rangoons. Definitely worth getting those

Great ambience, located a five minute walk from Kendall T station. We went at 7ish and it was starting to get packed, but the service was great--they had a lot of cocktail and alcohol options that seemed delicious, we just didn't happen to try any. Highlight of dinner was definitely the spicy salmon maki. Salmon was incredibly fatty and delicious, definitely high quality. We also ordered the Tempura maki, popcorn shrimp and Agedashi Tofu. While the agedashi tofu and tempura maki were alright, the popcorn shrimp is definitely a must try. The coating is flaky and light, and the shrimp tasted fresh and bouncy. Definitely recommend if you're in the area!

Got Uber eats from Fuji Kendall because they had a vegetarian bento box option. I was really excited because I'm vegetarian and most places don't have this so I was willing to overlook the price. Online it said the vegetarian bento box includes white rice, gyoza, an avocado cucumber roll, salad, soup, assorted vegetable tempura, and vegetable harumaki. I ordered the veggie bento box plus a sweet potato roll. The order took over an hour and a half to get delivered and by the time I received my food all the hot items were cold. When I opened up my bento box I saw they gave me raw veggies instead of vegetable tempura. My sweet potato roll also did not have tempura in it - it was just a cooked sweet potato. I'm really upset because I did not say I didn't want tempura on my order. Additionally, I did not get the pieces of vegetable harumaki or the rice that is supposed to come in the bento box. How do you forget rice in a bento box?! That's literally one of the most important parts. The food itself was ok, but the soup that came with the order was basically inedible and the total price of my order was $30 plus Uber fees - which was ridiculous for what I received. If they had actually given me what I asked for I might try this place again but because this happened I won't be ordering from here again. Vegetarians especially - avoid!

I've been to other Fuji branches and this is definitely a smaller one. It is close to a T stop making it very accessible. I was here on a Friday night around 8pm (an hour before closing) with a friend. Their menu is very detailed and we weren't sure what to order. We ended up getting a Boat to split between two people. The boat had a variety of options from sashimi and regular rolls. The service was nice and kind and they even came around for last call. Great experience, would definitely be back.

It's been a while since I been here. The inside has more of a modern look. We got the Boat 2 which was 40 Pieces, crispy duck clay pot, toro, and seared sake Toro. The duck skin was super crispy like a Peking duck from Chinatown. The Toro and sake Toro were so buttery in texture. The boat has so many delicious pieces but the Maki was my favorite. Service was great but it a bit pricy. Good spot for a nice out

(Last visited 3/24/2021.) While working at M.I.T. in Cambridge (basically Boston) and staying at the Hotel Marlowe I'm within walking distance of several nice restaurants. Back in August of 2020 my fiancée and I were in the area where we tried to pay Fuji a visit, but they were only offering takeout service at the time so we went elsewhere because we wanted to sit in to eat. You know, date night stuff. Well, I'm back on my own and they're still only doing takeout, but I really wanted sushi... so here goes! Atmosphere/Appearance: Based right on the corner of Linskey Way and 3rd Street is this gem. It's an elongated style restaurant with the bar and main dining room being to the right of the entrance with more dining off to the left. The décor is so chic and elegant. Everything is so nice, high-quality, laid out well and mature. This place gave me great vibes. Service: Since I had to get my food to-go, I didn't experience much service, but Andy at the host stand took excellent care of me. He was friendly and I really appreciated how welcoming he was. Food: So I went with an appetizer and 3 of their specialty rolls, which are called Makimono Specials. First up was the spicy edamame appetizer. They were delicious and not as salty as I expected them to be given the added spice, which was a good thing! The first of the Makimono rolls was the Boston Maki which is simply, smoked salmon and avocado wrapped inside of sticky white rice. It was delicious. The salmon was soft, had an amazing smoked flavor and the avocado paired nicely with it. Next up was the special of the week, the Hot Hamachi Roll, which was an interesting mixture of Hamachi, jalapeno and mango stuffed inside a rice roll then topped with more hamachi, umi and sweet sauce. This was very interesting. It wasn't my favorite combination of flavors, but the quality was definitely grand. Last, but not least, but certainly the most interesting was the Philly Cheese Steak Maki. Yes, I was brave enough to try it. It's sliced sirloin beef, cheddar cheese and peppers stuffed inside a rice roll then topped with seared cheese and tomato mayonnaise. This too, wasn't my favorite. The flavors were okay, but it wasn't what I was expecting to taste. It's hard to explain. Lol. So 1 out of 3 of the rolls I tried were really good to me, but that's at no fault of the restaurant. I went and tried some pretty wild things. Value: Spicy Edamame = $7.00 Hot Hamachi Maki = $16.00 (6 pieces) Boston Maki = $7.50 (6 pieces) Philly Cheese Steak Maki = $9.00 (6 pieces) It's sushi so if you've ever eaten at a sushi restaurant then you already know what to expect. This place is no different, but the food is absolutely worth the price. The quality is absolutely there. The décor is so lovely and well thought-out. The experience is worth it. In conclusion, though I didn't love some of my food choices, that will not deter me from coming back to try more of their menu. The quality is superb and I love what this place stands for. Pretty good sushi spot in Kendall Square! They have lunch specials offered, as well as a bar. I came on a weekday during lunch and it was pretty busy. I lucked out and got seated quickly which I was thankful for. I got one of the specials which had a variety of cut rolls, a side salad, and miso soup. The sushi seemed to be fresh and tasty- what more could you ask for? My total was about $20 before tax, which is reasonable in my opinion. I'll be back for more :)

Food: Overall very average. A lot of the stuff I found pretty flavorless, specifically the gyoza and chicken lettuce wraps. As a sushi LOVER, this sushi was very fine - you could get cheaper for better. Wish there was a little more flavor added to it tbh.

Fuji is our go-to place locally for sushi and Asian-inspired food that will never disappoint at the price point. They also will not blow you away with any crazy creative dishes based on our experiences there. The value-to-price here is spot-on which is not something we have experienced a lot in Cambridge. Typically you see a higher price point than expected for what you get which is not the case here. However, everything is pretty basic from a food perspective. That's not a bad thing, but with a lot of competition in the area it's not a place that I would rave about the food either. It's well-executed, fresh, not oily, and that is what I've come to expect from a place of this stature. It's a solid choice and one that we've visited multiple times. At the end of the day, Fuji offers a great menu of Asian-inspired food and extremely well-executed sushi. While we would not select it for a special occasion or date night, it is our go-to sushi place in the area and never disappoints.

First time I visit the Fuji location in Kendall. The menu is very extensive ranging from sushi to familiar Chinese dishes. I ordered the chicken katsu which came with noodles and your choice of two sides. Everything tasted great and service was quick and attentive. I would recommend Fuji if looking for a quiet dinner spot as it probably gets packed for work lunches during the week.

Came here with a friend on a weekday evening and it was pretty empty (pre-pandemic). I guess we ate dinner a little early, but we were the only people in the restaurant and it was still around 6pm. We ordered a couple of sushi rolls and I feel like the fish quality wasn't anything special. For the price, I think I've had better sushi and this place is just okay to satisfy a craving that you have. During the evening, it's more dimly met and sets the mood for a romantic night out. I really appreciated the interior decoration and liked the organized set up of the tables and chairs. I also thought the tables were set up pretty cutely. It might be a nice place to take a date out, especially if your order some of the more expensive options (didn't try them, but the food might be better).

I live right down the street from Fuji at Kendall so between the location and the fact that they offer online ordering, it's turned into one of my regular spots. This place is pretty good and the quality of the food is pretty consistent, the only reason for the 3 stars is that the prices are VERY high for what it is. There's not a ton of creativity to their menu and the quality is not quite as good as other sushi spots in Central and Harvard with lower price points. They do offer a discounted "appy hour" and lunch deals that are worth coming at a weird time in order to save a little cash. I also love their spicy salmon and spicy tuna rolls, because they're at a lower price point and it tastes like they mix the spicy mayo right in with the fish which is a bit more unique. As far as the specialty rolls go, I haven't tried many because I can't justify the cost other than for a special occasion or maybe date night. Overall, good sushi, but nothing to write home about.

Once again we had an incredible experience at Fuji. The sushi is absolutely TOP quality. Not too greasy, not to boring, with a respect for the world wide idea of how sushi is and respect for Japanese tradition. Staff is always beyond and above. Sushi is expensive, but the quality matches with no doubt. The seaweed salad is good. The roll with mango on was great too. We always look forward to come back. By the way, try their sake and Asian beer from draft. It's recommendable

It's hard to go across the Boston area without coming across a Fuji establishment. Over the years, the Fuji Group has established themselves within different neighborhoods (Assembly, Ink Block, WOC, Kendall) via the Fuji name, similar to Stephanie's, as well as restaurants Shabu & Mein and Yocha. I've dined at most of them with the exception of the Assembly location. I recently came to the Kendall location with two coworkers for lunch and made the reservation via Yelp. I had to change the time from 12 to 11:30 and the hostess was gracious enough to change it even though that time slot was not available online. The restaurant also quickly filled up as we continued our lunch, so a reservation is definitely recommended! As for food, my two coworkers ordered the bento box (chicken and steak teriyaki) and I ordered Sushi Deluxe (10 piece nigiri and 6 piece tuna roll). We also ordered the Popcorn shrimp and Fish and Chips Salad. Bento - These came with a variety of sides and the main protein grilled and slathered with sauce over a bed of rice. Both my coworkers felt that the proteins were lacking and they only ate around a quarter of it while finishing the sides. Would not recommend. Sushi Deluxe - This came with five variety of nigiris (2 piece each). Compared to other sushi restaurants, their rice was on the smaller side. Taken as a whole, it was pretty standard and did not shine either. It also did not come with sides such as soup or salad. Popcorn Shrimp - This was probably our favorite! Shrimps are cut into smaller bite size pieces, battered and fried and dusted with a chili powder, served with a citrus soy. Fish and Chips - The appetizer was a mix of various diced fishes and avocado, tossed in what looks like srirachia mayo and with 4 small chips. I would have liked more seasoning on the fish and more chips. It also came towards the end after we had finished our main courses. We had thought that they forgot the appetizer. Overall, we weren't too impressed with the food. However, I would have to applaud the staff being so accommodating in changing our reservation and they were quite attentive during our time there.

Really thought the Truffle Edamame would be something special....for $22.50 it should be! Tasted just like regular edamame and not worth the huge price tag. Don't order this....you will be disappointed!

I don't like the attitude of front desk. She was too busy with everything, didn't treat customers with respect. There was a rule that first come first served. You don't judge by people's wearing or appearance, or race. I simply advise Asians to avoid this place. The way you get treated is dependent on your race, and your clothing! I think it was out of nature that this front desk lady has to treat people of his own race in a disrespectful way.

Delicious sushi!! I've come here several times for all sorts of occasions: team lunches, romantic dinners, brunches, etc and I've never been disappointed. All the sushi rolls are amazing, especially the Maki Me Hungry roll (mango and tuna!). When coming with a large group, the sushi boat is usually a good bet, but the lunch sets are also very satisfying. The drinks are also very delicious and plenty strong. Will continue to come here!

Pretty generic fusion sushi place. I'd go again if I were in the area, but I wouldn't make a special trip to Kendall Square for it.

Very good sushi. We sat at the sushi bar and were impressed by the team of preparers who made the magic happen. I had a sushi special and everything tasted great. They have Wormtown IPA on tap, so that was a bonus.

Had takeout previously but finally decided to go in one day. We knew we were going so I tried to make reservations & got a note back from the Mgr telling me, Sorry we are booked but there are walk in spaces left so just come walk in... Ook if there are spaces, why cant you just reserve them for me?! So we walk over & are looked at as if we are crazy, like WHAT you didnt have a reservation. Ok strike 1. Then we are left just standing there for a few mins with a puzzled look like are we waiting, are they seating us. When they kinda give us the "Huff, sigh, sigh" attitude & then seat us in the window row booth. Seats were ok. Then they told us please be patient as the service is going to be slow, but it never was, the waitress was on Point, Had all her stuff together took our HUGE order with NO PEN & had it down - No mistakes. The mgr or some one who was in charge of something kept coming over to apologize for the wait, but there really wasnt one. The food began to come out & OMG everything is soo much better there than in take out. Calamari was GREAT, light & tasty. Hot & Sour soup was delish The beef & broccolini was TO DIE FOR, so tender & not fake tasting dry meat. Just soo good. Will def be adding to the regular spots we try in the area for lunch.

Really tasty sushi but insanely overpriced - can't believe what they charge for their rolls, which only have 6 (not even 8) pieces! Won't ever return for this reason, even though it was good food.

Service was great but food was mediocre. They were heavily marinated and made me feel sick after. I got the teriayaki steak and eel rice bowl. Portions are not bad for the price, but you can't eat too much of it before feeling sick.

We went twice. Based on the first time, I'd give Fuji a 5+. However, the second time there were a few problems. One, it was extremely noisy. Certainly, not Fuji's fault, other than they could mitigate the problem by not having quite so many tables packed together. Also, when I ordered the California roll, the server immediately suggested a replacement that was "on special". It certainly was better than the California roll, but it was also 4x the price. I feel she probably should have mentioned this. I assumed it would be in the same price range.

My wife and I have been coming to Fuji for the 6 years we've lived in Cambridge and we have yet to find a better sushi spot in all of Camberville and the greater Boston area. The fish is consistently fresh and the rice ratio on their rolls is spot on. Friendly staff that takes the time to get to know you, too. Elma, Carmen, and Beth are fantastic! Pro tip: get the Seared Salmon Nigiri. The sauce they put on it will rock your world.

Had my weekly craving for sushi and wanted to give this place a whirl. We've been to the other Fuji locations and the menu is quite similar (if not the same) so we opted to try the Sashimi Moriawase Regular (15 pieces) and the Makimono Combo Regular (spicy tuna, sake and negihama) dinners over the Fuji Boat 1 from our last time at Fuji Assembly Row. After we were done with those, we even added an order of their Toro Sampler sashimi for good measure. Overall, we were pretty happy with the Sashimi Moriawase Regular. Chef's choice included sizable cuts of sashimi and the variety was excellent - 7 different kinds to be exact and no skimping on the portion size. As usual, the maki rolls were pretty tasty as well. The Toro sampler, although delicious and obviously better cuts than the sashimi regular, were priced slightly higher than the marginal increase in deliciousness. Great spot to stop by for lunch or dinner if you live or work by the area and I'd be regular if I were closer!

Food is always consistent, people are very friendly and attentive, great cocktails. Love going here after work and having a nice high quality meal. Highly recommend the volcano roll, golden gate, and the salmon stuffed with crab special. Never had a bad experience here and I've probably been there at least 30 times over the last 2 years. The one thing I miss about living in Kendall is Fuji. PS... Wiki is the best :)

The food is okay, but really overpriced and stingy with portions. This popcorn shrimp doesn't even fill up the whole container and costs almost $20. It is a handful of little shrimp and it's soggy and not even crunchy. I really want to like Fuji but all their locations are so overpriced and stingy with portions. This is absurd.

Fuji at Kendall is fancy for Japanese food. They spend more time on the aesthetics vs. authenticity. Pricey. Came here because a girlfriend had a $20 for $40 groupon to spend. Doubt we would go out of our way to dine here again without a discount. Rec: +Unagi/Anago Kabayaki- go for this if you are an eel fan. $20, includes rice and 2 sides (rice, miso soup, or salad). Comes in a nice traditional lunch box. Ok: Tonkatsu $20. Noodles is already included with a choice of 2 sides (rice, miso soup, or salad.) The noodles included was chow mein which was a really odd pairing. Any kind of noodle pairing is just odd to be honest with katsu. Why not make it into curry katsu? A side of chopped cabbage is standard which they omitted, though I suppose I'm starting to be picky. The 2 slabs of katsu probably added to the bulk of the $20.

I've been wanting to try Fuji for lunch since I work near Kendall. I think it was just about what I was expecting. Their bento boxes are enough food to feed a crowd and their crab Rangoon are the best I've ever had. Service was extreeemely slow and not overly friendly. Thai tea and mango green tea were both a hit. I'm not itching to get back ASAP, but I'll definitely be back at some point if not just for the rangoons
