Google
Really nice, the food is exceptional. Their chicken katsu is massive, almost couldn’t have finish it. Wonderfully crispy. They also have watermelon soju, it was quite refreshing

We had a lovely dinner here recently, as my husband was craving sushi for his birthday. The service was good and the sushi was top notch. We also ordered a bottle of sake and some beers to go with our meal. The place was pretty empty, so we had the upstairs basically entirely to ourselves. The quietness may have bothered some other folks, but we enjoyed the private dining experience. I would definitely come here again!

I’ve been to Fuji Mountain several times; 1x for dinner, 3x time for karaoke events. I booked events for karaoke with large groups of 20+ people (including my birthday and my brother’s birthday). To say they’re amazing is an understatement. Fae (the owner) really does take care of you when you have an event. Each event I’ve had has been in rooms that are clean, with built in bathrooms (or right outside of room), AC units, not to mention quick service of food and drinks. The food is DELICIOUS. I’ve had their gyoza, firecracker roll, takoyaki, and much more. They never disappoint and it’s seriously always such a great time. Karaoke $75/hour, but if you spend $500+ on your tab karaoke rooms are free. It is done through a book and remote control system, where you flip through a book of songs and then punch in the numbers on a remote. They’re super easy to use. Needless to say, come here for your birthdays, celebrations, or night out with your friends. You will not be disappointed. I LOVE Fuji Mountain.

Google
The food here never disappoints. Always fresh and hot. We tried the crispy chicken and shrimp 🍤 this time around and it was really delicious 😋. Of you're in the area and are in the mood.for some tasty Japanese food, give them a try! P.s. the calamari is awesome 👌

Google
Service was kinda slow (maybe they were short-staffed?), but they accommodated my request to move to a booth. The decor is cozy. Atmosphere is casual. The food was excellent. I would recommend.

Google
This place is the best. It’s never crowded and the food is always delicious. You get seated very quickly and the food comes out equally as fast. The servers are very nice and professional. I always come here for the Katsu chicken it’s probably the best friend chicken I’ve ever had. It comes out with two large cutlets cooked perfectly tender and crunchy. The menu also has a pretty good selection of items to choose from. I would highly recommend eating here.

I stumbled upon Fuji Mountain Japanese Restaurant on a whim, phone on 10% and hungry. When I walked in at around 5pm, the restaurant was peaceful and not at all busy. I ordered the Zaru Soba, of which I have no photos 😭. After waiting a grand total of 10 minutes I got my food, and devoured it. Safe to say, the noodles and the tempura it came with were all delicious. Fuji Mountain Restaurant is definitely a place I would recommend if you're craving Japanese food in Philadelphia, especially if you're looking for authentic Japanese dishes.

Been coming here for years and it never disappoints. The sushi is delicious and very fresh. Great variety of specialty rolls. Also try the housemade Soju! 🍶

Yelp
Hiding in plain sight is this gem of an izakaya and karaoke room! My friends and I had planned for a fun night of bad singing and drinks, and the Fuji Mountain room won for pricing and food options. If coming as a private group for karaoke, you'll head up the stairs to the third floor. On the day we were there, the rest of the restaurant was completely dead, but I think that's more of a reflection on it being Jan 2nd and not the quality of the restaurant. The karaoke selection is fabulous. Huge amount of your favorite songs to choose from and easy system for inputting songs into the queue. There were ~17 of us and we had an amazing night. I think most bookings are in three hour blocks. We were taken care of by one staff member who consistently brought drinks and took orders. We also opted to order some apps and platters. The sushi and sashimi platter is an amazing option for a group, though the fish itself leaves a little bit to be desired. Good and serviceable, but nothing that will knock your socks off. That being said, great drink options and this is a perfect place for your next karaoke night! I didn't do the organizing but everything seemed communicative and easy to set up. Looking forward to my next trip!

Yelp
This is some of the worst sushi I've ever had. The holiday roll was mushy and just had no flavor. The hurricane roll was appropriately named because it truly was a natural disaster. Again, mushy and just not good. Both rolls were HEAVILY topped with MORE mush, which just added fuel to the fire. The rest of the rolls neither had fresh rice nor fish. Would definitely not recommend.

Yelp
Pretty good. Group shared the large box Good hangout spot -- plenty of space and chill workers
google avatar

Yelp
My favorite sushi spot in this area or center city. Fresh ingredients, sushi rice perfectly cooked. On par with Vic Sushi (which I feel is a bit overrated), very nice staff. Highly recommend this spot. Favorite roll is the inferno

Yelp
We really enjoyed this, found by accident after our original choice was closed. Service and ambience was great. Food came out reasonably fast for sushi and was excellent.

Yelp
Paid $31 including $5 tip for lunch - pretty steep!!! But the food was tasty.. the mango shrimp and the yam sushi rolls both were very good!

Yelp
We made a reservation for two but didn't need it on a Wednesday, the restaurant was nearly empty. The staff was very kind and attentive (without being overbearing). We ordered the Wasabi Shumai (steamed) and Beef Gyoza (fried) to start. (The wasabi was in the shumai wrapper and whoa whoa did it burn your nose. The gyoza was as expected). For entrees, we got the Stone Pot Beef Bibimbap (great, but the pot was too hot so too much of the rice was charred to the point you couldn't eat it. Would have preferred sliced beef, but the ground beef still has a great flavor), the Angry Tuna roll (so much fish/meat, it was amazing and so flavorful), and a Eel/Cucumber/Avocado hand roll (the eel was a little fishy but overall ok). Overall, nice experience and will be back!

Yelp
Came in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the sushi and tempura bento box and it was a ton of food. The agedashi tofu was also great. Everyone was super nice, and I will be back for lunch again soon. Thank you!

Yelp
Got it Togo twice. Obsessed. Rolls are giant. You definitely get what you pay for- QUALITY.

Yelp
Best sushi place in Philly. Hospitality is unmatched. 10/10 all around. I love this place more than words can describe. Best food ever tbh

Chlorine Z.

Yelp
The owner is rude and lacking manner. Will never going to a restaurant like this again. I paid in advance, but I was still eating. It was pretty late. He was shouting at me and trying to kick me out just because he's about to closeup. The dish are nothing special, but the way he treated his customers was the worst I've ever seen.
google avatar

Amber Y.

Yelp
This place is cute and has great service and a fun vibe. Good prices and Good Sushi. They usually have many openings, so it's a great spot for an impromptu dinner. We all enjoyed our meal and it wasn't just the sake

Yelp
Got takeout from here recently and nothing really stood out as the roll was big but bigger isn't always better, as the flavor didn't really stand out in any way. Decent enough option if you are looking for sushi, but tons of options in the area, so wouldn't go out of my way to check it out.
google avatar

Yelp
As someone who is originally from a place with a large Japanese population, finding good Japanese food in Philly has been a struggle. That being said, Fuji Mountain is easily the most authentic and delicious Japanese food in the city. Their prices are very affordable for the quality of food, and everything we had was delicious. I got the tempura dinner set which was way more food than I expected, and the ala carte nigiri and rolls that we ordered were delicious as well. I will absolutely be returning here for all Japanese cravings.
google avatar

Christopher S.

Yelp
We love Fuji Mountain! The sushi is always exceptional and the soups and dumplings impress as well. Our favorite is the Washington Roll - really really good atypical additions for that one!
google avatar

Kangni X.

Yelp
Great experience here. We picked this place due to online recommendations and proximity to our Airbnb. The Take was a great spread of fish types. I picked this combo because I enjoy trying the pure, raw fish options rather than complex rolls to assess fish quality. The nigiri had a good fish to rice ratio. And the fish texture in the sashimi and nigiri was buttery and soft, not fibrous or chewy. The roll had a good amount of filling and was topped with more chopped pieces of fish in spicy Mayo, but overall pretty basic in terms of flavor. Service was also good and attentive.

Yelp
Love coming here!! Been here a bunch of times-even precovid when they were open into late hours of the night! Great spot & great food and service! One of the best Philly sushi places I've been to, I always come back!

Yelp
This review is for takeout ordered via Grubhub. Tonight we decided that we wanted to order takeout and eat outside to enjoy the well deserved day of nice weather this Memorial Day weekend. We decided on sushi, but since neither of us had a go to spot in the Graduate Hospital neighborhood, we took to Grubhub to find something closely. Fuji Mountain was offering free delivery and had good reviews so we went for it! We shared the large size house salad, vegetable spring rolls, and vegetable gyoza. It's hours later and I am still thinking about how delicious that ginger dressing was. We both agreed that this was one of the best ginger dressings we have had. The spring rolls stayed crispy and the veggie filling was great! I loved that the gyoza veggies included edamame. Yum! I ordered a California roll and asked to have cream cheese added. Sometimes my requests via Grubhub get ignored, but Fuji Mountain was able to accommodate. The roll was fresh and delicious. It was six huge pieces! I can't wait to order from Fuji Mountain again. I' so glad to have found a go to place nearby.

Yelp
The sushi and sashimi is unbelievably fresh. The quality is noticeable from the appearance of the sashimi to the taste of the rolls. Having sushi from other restaurants outside of the city, nothing even comes close in comparison. The service is always good and the place is nice to eat in or quick enough for takeout. Prices are a little high but worth it
google avatar

Alan J.

Yelp
Have ordered from Fuji Mountain many times in the past. Never been dissappointed, quite the opposite. The sushi is sooooo fresh!!! The vegetarian options fulfill my girlfriend and she always asks to go here instead of other sushi places in Philly. We ordered: - vegetable spring roll - yam tempura roll - avacado roll - kani avocado salad - salmon Mori (probably the best salmon combo I've ever had) - shrimp tempura roll - extra ginger You all forgot my miso soup by the way
google avatar

Zaneta R.

Yelp
Great service and very flavorful food! Upon arrival the staff was pleasant and attentive! Bill and Fei served us and was super friendly and reliable. They made sure we had everything we needed. The Rolls were very fresh and I would highly recommend the Mexican tempura roll! They were not stunt with the rolls! The miso was so tasty and the green tea was authentic! 10/10 recommend
google avatar

Wendy J.

Yelp
Sushi was fresh! Udon was savory! Good vibes all around! I came in wanting to get sushi, but they had such a huge variety in their menu that I opted for a sushi and udon combo for only $19! The fish was yummy, and the udon soup had the perfect sweetness to it. Everything was made super fresh, so I enjoyed every bite. I definitely want to come back to try the specialty rolls!

Ryan C.

Yelp
The restaurant has excellent food, but the service was disorganized, leaving you wondering where the waiter is all the time. and how to capture their interest.
google avatar

Konyin A.

Yelp
If you're looking for every type of sushi that exists and then some, Fuji Mountain is the place to go! I've gone twice and was more than pleased both times. Their selection of fish are fresh and tasty. I got the spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls, which you definitely can't go wrong with. The second time I came, I ordered the stone pot bibimbap, which was STEAMING and tasty. The vibes of this place is chill. Definitely more of a casual dining space, but it does what it needs to do. Overall, I recommend it and will definitely be coming back!

Bird A.

Yelp
The owner of this restaurant was so rude and lack of patience that he drove me out of the door before I finished my dessert just because it was near the closing time.
google avatar

Aaron M.

Yelp
Good sushi and a large selection of roles. Went after an Eagles game, so it was not super busy.
google avatar

Jacky C.

Yelp
Ordered pickup for a late night dinner. Ordered two of their top sellers to share with my gf: Ex Girlfriend ($16) and Spicy Tuna ($8). The Ex Girlfriend is amazing (I'm talking about the sushi. The person sucks). Spicy Tuna was good, but just like the ex-girlfriend, this sushi stands out. Definitely a great option for dinner.

Yelp
I LOVE sushi at Fuji mountain. It's so soft and satisfying. In warm weather Covid times, grab a lunch special to go and enjoy it in rittenhouse or at a small table in front of city hall. If you want to dine inside, it's cozy and quiet. Highly recommend Fuji mountain for sushi.

Kelly S.

Yelp
Some of the best sushi I've had in Philly. Had really great service and good appetizers. I already made a reservation to go back!

Jasmeen D.

Yelp
This place fell off. Unfortunately because the service is GREAT and the staff members are always nice. They just get a little lazy on the construction of the rolls and presentation, especially so for takeout orders. For $40 I ordered two rolls, sweet potato and a "specialty roll" the passion roll which is wrapped in soy paper with shrimp tempura, kani, salmon, topped w/mango and blue crab. A lot of pizazz so it should have been in it's own box or separated a little. The soy paper barely held up 5 mins from the restaurant location to my house. I pretty much had to use a spoon. Rice, fillings, and toppings EVERYWHERE once you go for it with the chopsticks. Kinda ruined the vibe. I love you Fuji, you can get better with this... ‍

Yelp
strong drinks ! you get so much food for your money. everything is amazing and flavorful & fresh!

Yelp
My daughter took me here for birthday lunch with my granddaughter and everything was lovely. Her lunch she shared with her daughter was the generous sushi tempura bento box lunch special. I had the grilled hamachi collar (hamachi kama.) My instructions of how I wanted it cooked were followed perfectedly. The large and tasty avocado salad came with the carrot-ginger dressing I love. Needless to say, we had a lot of hamachi and salad to take home.
google avatar

Kyle C.

Yelp
For some reason this place is always a ghost town. I've been here a solid 5+ times and I have never had to wait or make a reservation. The sushi/sashimi here is so-so but other items on the menu such as pork katsudon, chicken katsu, tempura udon, and eel unaju are all so good and the portion sizes are always quiet impressive. They come with a side of soup or salad. I'm usually not a fan of salads but Japanese salad dressing really tickles my fancy. I have never left this place hungry! The service here is good and prices are reasonable especially for the area. I'll keep coming back.

Joyce K.

Yelp
I came in for takeout, but the prices didn't match what was on the menu. I ended up spending over $10 over the printed prices. Some items were increased more than $5. I asked if they had an updated take out menu, they gave me one and told me the prices were not current. ?? Looks like a bait and switch.
google avatar

Elisa F.

Yelp
Everything was good - my issue is that just because an item has the same name as in another restaurant doesn't mean it will be the same item. The valentine roll at one sushi restaurant will not be the same as in another but that's not the restaurant's fault it was mine for not reading the item descriptions closely enough. Again, everything was delicious and everyone was nice and professional. Prices are a dollar or two higher per item in comparison to other sushi restaurants in the neighborhood. They have a liquor license which is awesome! They are very strict about COVID restrictions so you can't sit at the sushi bar and the restaurant is a little dark but cozy. I remember Fuji's ambiance and decor being a little more appealing before the pandemic but the food and staff are just as nice as in the before times. And they have karaoke! What more could you want? :)
google avatar

Batoul A Q.

Yelp
The best sushi I had in Philadelphia so far! Everything I ordered was great and the service was good as well.

Yelp
I heard previous rumors of someone getting food poisoning so I have avoided this place, despite living very close. I was pleasantly surprised with my experience last night, albeit, we both ordered all cooked food. The crispy shrimp dish was very good with the right amount of zing to the sauce. It was a healthy portion size. We also got the nabeyaki udon soup, which was quite good. Lots of fish cake and noodles; the broth was very flavorful. The side of tempura was quite good as well - a sweet potato, broccoli and 2 shrimp. We also got the fried banana tempura dessert, which was just okay- a little greasy. Service was 5 stars. A new waitress was training and was very polite, and the other staff was attentive. We were running (very) late, and I called the restaurant to let them know; they honored our reservation without hesitation.
google avatar

Nate F.

Yelp
The sushi is on the pricey side. I got the kamikaze rolls (shrimp tempura). Was good, not great. The price for what you get discouraged me from ordering more food. However, it's a fun night for karaoke. We crammed a smooth 25 people in the room which was free under the condition we spent $500, which we did. Not sure what the hourly rate would have been otherwise. My man that was taking the orders did a pretty efficient job for being just one person. I commend him. They have what seems like endless stairs in here. I don't even know how many floors there are. It didn't seem terribly busy on the rainy Friday night we went. Would I come back? Possibly. Definitely for karaoke.
google avatar

Elise P.

Yelp
Just went today for pickup (ordered via Caviar). As of lunch today (june 25) they did not have outdoor dining so heads up there. They had a table for picking up any orders, I did have to enter the restaurant to grab it but it was easy and completed on time with a safe, socially distanced pickup. My salmon lunch special was great, and packaged wonderfully such that the miso soup generally doesnt leak on my walk back to the office.
google avatar

Yelp
When a foodie like me goes to the same place in 4 days, you know it's a good one. Fuji Mountain has great, fresh sushi and I am obsessed with their soups too. I usually just order the most basic rolls off any sushi menu and the ones at Fuji Mountain are a lot bigger than any other place I've ever been!! The inside is cozy and perfect for a chilly winter date in Rittenhouse. Ask to sit in the back and get a green tea or warm sake to keep you warm! Highly recommend for your next chill, sushi night. P.S. Sam is fantastic!
google avatar

Alexis P.

Yelp
Quality sushi here but be prepared to spend a little more than most sushi restaurants. If you're looking for quality sushi in Philly, this is the place to go. The sashimi is really good. The restaurant itself is aesthetically pleasing inside and the staff was nice but I wish I didn't have to ask for water so many times. Their rendition of bibimbap isn't bad but it is a bit odd. If you're eating here, stick with the sushi. Overall, really good experience. I'd definitely come back!
google avatar

Richard L.

Yelp
The spicy tuna and the firecracker sushi were great! staff was friendly and the menu selection has something just about for everyone. Only one (maybe two) issues: the restaurant was kinda dark (I even herd a kid ask why it was so dark) AND the sushi bar was closed. I'll def be back!
google avatar

Kerry D.

Yelp
I really liked this place. 4 stars as the service was a bit slow (yet super kind!) but overall the food was amazing and i liked the ambience as well. We easily made a reservation for a group of 5 the day before coming. The place is way bigger than i thought, with several upstairs floors. They were having a holiday party upstairs so definitely a place to consider if you're looking for a spot for a big group! We started with appetizers - popcorn shrimp, edamame, and beef gyoza, and a bottle of wine. I loved the gyoza. We each then got two rolls - one special and one normal. I got the white tiger and spicy tuna. It was delicious! I'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Divona N.

Yelp
Some of the best sushi I've ever had! Coming from a self proclaimed sushi connoisseur, Fuji Mountain has really exceeded my expectations. I've ordered takeout twice and dined in once (so far) and each time the quality of the sushi has been amazing. Super fresh and delicious every time! I highly highly recommend the Ex Girlfriend roll! So good

Heather P.

Yelp
I ordered delivery of two specialty rolls and some assorted sushi. The two rolls were packed together without any grass dividers -not typical - and were total slop. The color of the fish was grayish-the spicy tuna was the texture of canned tuna. In denial, I decided to just try to put a piece in my mouth but couldn't commit. Sick. The assorted pieces were warm and not firm. Also - weirdly there were two types of wasabi in the package. One was as expected and the other smelled like the hydrated cheap stuff you get at the grocery- never as good. My trust in this place plummeted and I had to throw it all away.
google avatar

Jenny D.

Yelp
Hands down, a life changing experience for me. Now I'm not the type whose all about the hype, but this place surely exceeded all my expectations. Granted, the place is way overpriced - I seized the opportunity to visit the place during restaurant week. We decided on the 5 course meal that they were offering, and I was so pleased with everything. Started our meal off with a couple salads, we got a seaweed salad and a salmon salad. Both complimented each other very well, super fresh and flavorful. Then, the soups. Personally for me, I thoroughly enjoy piping hot soups and mine was perfect. I'm not a huge fan of mushrooms so believe me when I say that to my surprise, I absolutely loved the mushroom soup. It's a great balance of light and bursting with flavor, I'm not sure what they put in it, but it is definitely addicting. Their seafood soup comes with scallop, shrimp, and mussels. I've never seen a start soup so exquisite, definitely impressed. Onto our next course, we settled with the Ika Ika appetizer and the Dynamite mussels. Both great choices - and SPICYYYY (if you like that kinda thing). Now onto my favorite part of the meal, I ordered the Wild Mushroom Sea Bass (again I don't like mushroom, but I do like Sea Bass) and it was by far the best Sea bass I have ever had in my whole life. I've had a lot from all over, I'm very used to the fish being on the dryer side and less flavorful. This one was so MOIST and you can tell the fish was wonderfully marinated. It wasn't smothered in sauce, but you can tell it was cooked thoroughly with the sauce and that's what I really loved. Vegetables came out perfect texture, perfectly cooked. Even came with a small potato in katsu form, I've never seen such a thing but wow I could eat a hundred of them because it was so delicious, I've got to search the recipe somehow. Dessert - we got the green tea ice cream and red bean ice cream and it was divine. Typically, I'm a bit more skeptical on restaurant ice creams because it's usually iced up with icicles or you can taste that it's been in the freezer for too long. This ice cream was so creamy and was as if it came straight from the ice cream parlor, it was magical. Again, this place exceeded all my expectations and I was certainly sad when it came to the end of my meal. Will definitely come back to visit soon!

Yelp
Went here for philadelphia restaurant week and it was amazing! pros: -fish was very fresh! i would take a bite and it would melt in my mouth o: food also came out pretty quickly which was great -i thought I would be hungry after this but it is a lot of food! since it's many courses, it was quite filling -i LOVED the chef's choice dish! it was an arrangement of sashimi, sushi, and a hand roll. I think it was a good choice for me because I could taste different types of fish, and I couldn't choose between the sashimi or sushi meal so this was a great in between! cons: not much to complain about, pretty happy about my experience!

Yelp
Fuji Mountain is almost everything you'd want in a sushi spot. I guess it's been years since my last visit but I swore they had been BYOB?? In any event, my friend and I ended up there based on Yelp reviews and our first pick restaurant being over crowded. Sadly, we couldn't utilize our bottle of red, but we were greeted and seated promptly. I ended up with a glass of Shiraz. A little pricy at $9, but I suppose it was a decent pour. Ordering was easy since we knew we wanted the sushi entree for two. It didn't include the specifics of what we'd get; we just requested no eel and they obliged. It may have been difficult if you are picky, but it was easy for us. We also both got to pick from miso soup or salad with our meals. It wasn't crowded so all food came out promptly. I only wish our sever told us what was on the plate. Being that we eat everything, it was fine- it could've been nice to know though. Everything was fresh and delicious, so that's all that mattered to me in the end. We were enjoying a leisurely meal so I opted for desserts. I had to get something with banana so I got the banana tempura and vanilla ice cream. My friend got the cheese ice cream. It sounds odd, but it was just extra rich and creamy. Both desserts paired nicely together. The service was prompt and attentive. The seating area was spacious with a nice mix of booths and tables; we didn't feel on top of other guests. A great sushi spot- especially if you are looking for a bar.

Yelp
Fuji has a nice atmosphere. The servers are really nice and attentive! S/o to Bill and Fei! The miso soup was very flavorful! The sushi rolls were very full, which was a nice surprise. Oh and the prices?! More than fair!! Especially for non-specialty rolls. Would definitely come back! Thanks for a great experience...especially at 11pm!!
