"The new sushi restaurant Fuji is set to open on Sunday, December 17, in the Land Park neighborhood of Sacramento, the Sacramento Bee reports. The new restaurant is taking on the name of the previous restaurant that resided at the 1235 Broadway location, with the previous owners’ blessing." - Lauren Saria

I had such a great experience thanks to Amanda! She was incredibly accommodating, very communicative, and just an all-around kind and welcoming presence. It’s rare to find someone so attentive and genuinely nice. She made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. Amanda added that extra touch of hospitality that makes you want to come back. Fuji Sushi is lucky to have her! The food was absolutely impeccable. I highly recommend this establishment for anybody looking for a great lunch/dinner with happy hour.

I stumbled upon this delightful establishment while waiting for my electric vehicle to charge across the street, and it truly is a hidden gem! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and seated immediately. Their lunch special is an absolute steal at $15! It includes your choice of two meats or fish, gyoza, miso soup, sushi, and rice. Additionally, they offer $10 maki rolls all day on Thursdays. I was pleasantly surprised to find that their $5 bourbons, available with the lunch special, were incredibly well-crafted. I had been expecting something akin to an Applebee's or Chili's drink but was pleasantly proven wrong by the expertly mixed beverage. The food was outstanding! The kalbi beef had a perfect spicy kick, making it both delightful and memorable. This spot has quickly become my favorite lunch destination in Sacramento. Although I'm just visiting, I come here a few times a year and will most definitely be back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a remarkable and affordable dining experience!

Delicious tender and saucy ribs and awesome sushi rolls! We got the ribs, rainbow roll, and suro roll and all were amazing. We both thought everything was very good - ambiance was top tier, service was excellent, unobtrusive, friendly and fast.

Came here from over an hour away for date night with my boyfriend. The food tasted really good. The atmosphere and the vibe of the restaurant was inviting and felt nice. Everyone was friendly and smiling as though they enjoy working there. We ordered a few drinks, lumpia, calamari, the dragon roll, all from the happy hour menu. And the shinjuku plate, the ribeye and the pork buns from the regular menu. The drinks: were average, and unmemorable. Our second round took forever to arrive. The Rib eye: tasted good, but was sliced so thin, it was laughable. Paying 20 for what was approximately 2 oz of steak was a little shocking. The Pork buns: tasted great, but came with barely enough pork belly to fill the 3 buns. And they took quite a while coming out from the kitchen, arriving half way through our meal. The rest of the food was very good and came quickly. All in all I don't think it was worth the $200 we spent.

Google
Great service from the bartender, who also ended up being our server, and the hostess was very friendly. The layout is really nice, and all the food was fresh and flavorful. We enjoyed some delicious sashimi, nigiri, sake, and more. I'd definitely come back and try it again.

Service is outstanding. The drinks made by Paul are very unique and fantastic variety. There is no rushing and the atmosphere is very welcoming. I am still thinking about having the New Year's dinner here. Food items are fresh and made with abundant seafood.

Super cool place. Really cool lighting features. Fresh food with lots of options. Chefs choice freestyle Rolls and desserts were amazing. They do offer an omakase experience too. Unique drinks and food in an awesome space.

Great new restaurant! We have had dinner here a few times and it’s each time has been delicious! The service is phenomenal. All the staff is very kind and helpful. Brunch was amazing as well! Must try the Japanese breakfast plate. Traditional and something hard to find even in SF. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Great food and ambiance! Convenient location. Garlic noodles, chicken teriyaki, gyoza, dragon roll, and cucumber salad were all top notch.

Yelp
We have frequented here once before & loved the new ownership, renovation, food & service. Even more recently now that my wife is on a very restrictive diet where she needs to be gluten free, soy free, dairy free, corn free & sugar free that this restaurant was very accommodating. Can you believe it? We were here for a particular event for a weekend luncheon. My sister told me the owner Russell will make a special meal for my wife as he had cooked for someone with similar restrictions. So my wife jumped at the opportunity as you know that is very rare they do this especially in a Japanese restaurant so we couldn't pass it up! Russell Okubo is one of the owners with his nephew Kevin Oto. We have known Russell throughout the past 30 plus years as we had followed his ownership of several different Japanese restaurants in Elk Grove, Sacramento & El Dorado Hills. It's awesome as Russell heads towards retirement but not quite yet! This restaurant is not full of pretentious airs but rather awesome delicious tasting foodie eats. A lovely Japanese restaurant to chill & eat. Btw security is outside before you enter the restaurant especially if you're worried about the transient situation in this area of old Land Park which can be quite prevalent. Seriously! However Russell made my wife a most delectable salmon salad ever! It was PERFECTION & huge! Lucky me I enjoyed their buffet luncheon that consisted of salad, rice, salmon teriyaki, chicken teriyaki, gyoza, green beans & a couple different sushis! One of the salmon sushi's was spicy yet tasty! I even went back for seconds! The restaurant even had an event on the second floor which is the reason why their private packing lot was full so we had to park in the adjacent lot which was empty. Thank goodness for the enclosed fences. Our server was excellent too. We sat in the back area of the restaurant on the first floor. Gotta love that quintessential samurai mural & the gorgeous yet stunning kimono quilt entry wall! Even the full bar was contemporary with beautiful bright colorful fluorescent colors! This Japanese restaurant is a must try for anyone especially even if you're on a restricted diet! My wife was so impressed & extremely happy! She even noticed a beautiful koi picture in the woman's powder room! Happy Wife; Happy Life right? Woohoo! Even had the chance to hear Russell's 100 year old dad performed shigin, a Japanese art form of folk singing poetry. Wow we were so blessed yesterday & left with full & satisfied bellies!

Yelp
Goooooood food. Every dish was surprisingly delicious. We just never really heard of this place , it's a very obscure building across from Target. But every dish we ordered was a hit! The sashimi was super fresh! Texture & taste on point! Garlic noodles, bomb, just the right amount of garlicyness. Macadamia shrimp was really good, big shrimp pieces. Dragon roll, can't complain. Brussels sprouts were yummy, lightly crispy, and the truffle taste was good, just really super oily and heavy but delicious. The perfect meal! 10/10 would recommend It's super cute inside as well, there's a spacious bar area, then it turns to the right into this bigger room for dine in. Looks like they had a banquet hall as well in the other direction. Service was great ! I almost forgot, the crème brûlée, MATCHA crème brûlée, if you like matcha, just get it!

Yelp
I drive by this spot a handful of times a year the past 20 years, and I've seen businesses come and go. Several family members said to "give it a try, you won't be disappointed!" They were on with that statement. Came here on "Taco Tuesday", and boy was it a Tuesday treat! We were greeted by a friendly host (Hana) and had awesome servers (Teya and Joe). Atmosphere was comfortable, just the right amount of lighting and not too loud. Plenty of tables with cushioned chairs and spacious floor to roam. Table setting had plates, water glass and of all things...a linen napkin!!! Talk about old school; it was clean as a whistle too! As for the food, we just ordered off the HH menu. The tacos were street-taco sized, but each were full with plenty of protein of choice. They're about $9 non HH hours, but only $2 during! Kalbi, Poke and Cod all were satisfying. The other HH items are only served from 3p-6p (all day Wednesday though)! Highly recommend the furkake roasted Brussel sprouts and the chicken karaage (light crisp, not a lot of batter or tapioca starch). Everyone was full and content; we will be back next time to order off the normal menu!

Yelp
We ended up coming to lunch really late around 2-3 on a Saturday and no one was inside the restaurant so it was quiet. Our server was so nice and would frequently check on us. I'd recommend looking at the menu first before coming because they don't have a huge selection of rolls like at other sushi restaurants, but they make up with that in the quality of the food.

Helen H.

Yelp
There is street parking available and a designated parking lot across the street. We came here for happy hour (M-F 3:00-6:00 and all day Wednesdays). Tuesday is also taco Tuesday, so $2 tacos. Thus it was quite busy and loud in there. We ordered a variety of food to share. We started with the tacos- kalbi, cod, poke, and mahi mahi. My favorite was the cod, which was fried. None of us cared for the kalbi, especially because the kimchi slaw on top was over fermented. I thought we ordered the kalbi fries, but we got the truffle nori fries. It was perfectly fine. The crispy calamari batter was quite thick. The rainbow roll was my favorite. I didn't care for the dynamite roll because it was deep fried. We also ordered the nigiri combo. I was quite full afterwards. Be aware that happy hour prices don't apply toward to go food. My friend wanted to order some food to take home, but the bill wasn't discounted. Supposedly there is a loyalty program. I wrote my phone number down on the bill, but not sure how it works. I guess I'll have to ask them when I come back next time.

Yelp
Fuji has become one of our favorite spots to bring friends, family and coworkers for a drinks and food. Since they first opened, they've been making small adjustments to their menu and special offerings. Currently, they offer brunch on Saturday and Sundays from 11am-3pm, Happy Hour M-F 3-6pm and all day Wednesday, Taco Tuesday, 1/2 off street food on Mondays, a great lunch menu and their full dinner menu. We tend to sit at the bar if we're having a date night, or we get a table if we're dining with others. The brussel sprouts are a must- they're amazing, crispy and so flavorful. We also tend to always order their karaage, which is crispy and flavorful and definitely a crowd pleaser. On our latest visit we were there for taco Tuesday and their taco options were $2 all day long. I tried the mahi mahi taco, kalbi beef taco and poke taco. They were street taco size and packed with flavor. The poke taco was my favorite and was served on a crunchy shell. It's definitely a solid deal. We also have tried their lunch combination offerings and these offer a generous amount of food and variety for the price. I tried the $15 Lunch Combination with karaage chicken and kalbi beef and it came with gyoza, rice, a couple pieces of california roll and miso soup. My husband ordered the $27 two item Sushi Combination with sashimi and nigiri and enjoyed the fresh fish along with rice, the house salad and miso soup. They also have a burger and hot dog on their lunch menu that I'll need to try! We still need to stop in to try brunch, but we've heard great things. Their dinner is always a treat as well and it has become our go to suggestion when we're looking to go out with friends. They have a parking lot across the street, which makes it easy to stop in for a reservation or impromptu dining experience.

Yelp
I finally had an opportunity to dine at the Fuji's restaurant on Broadway. Many years ago, the original Fuji's was located in the same building. This iteration has a different owner, but there are some nods to the previous business in the form of various historical decorations owned by the original proprietors. First off: the interior of the restaurant is beautiful. They did a nice job setting a mood of stylishness, here. It's got a wonderful mood. This would be a fun place to bring a date to enjoy cocktails in the blue-lit bar area. The space exudes a sense of calm. Our party of four was here for lunch midweek. We entered and were seated right away. The $15 lunch special included a couple of California roll slices, miso soup (very delicious and with plenty of seaweed), crispy gyoza, and rice. Plus, you can choose of the following: vegetable tempura, teriyaki chicken, sesame chicken, karaage, kalbi beef, tonkatsu, salmon misoyaki. I opted for the tempura and the salmon misoyaki. The others had tempura too, and different people chose the beef kalbi and the teriyaki. The food came out fairly quickly. Conversation lulled for a while as we got down to the business of eating! We were pretty unanimous in agreeing that the food was delicious. I enjoyed everything that was brought. While it was enough, I will make the observation that someone with a big appetite might need to rder something additional to feel full. The service was very good. The server said separate checks were not a problem, at all. I would be happy to return here again to try other items on the menu. They have a long list of "street food" appetizer items. This would be a perfect place to stop in for a happy hour drink and nibbles.

Yelp
I was driving around broadway and was craving sushi and this was right next door to sunhfish. I was hoping they might get their fish next door and the fish would be amazing but it was okay, nothing spectacular. Maybe because I ordered Togo, so it wasn't the freshest. I was ecstatic that my lunch combo actually had the miso packed Togo. Most places won't do that. My order was placed correct, pick up was prompt, and the inside looks really nice. I won't let this deter me and I'll definitely come back and try to dine in and give this place another shot.

Yelp
Fuji is becoming the spot. I kinda would rather gatekeep than review it, but here I am. Check the happy hour deals and daily specials. Or don't. I want a seat at the bar. The happy hour food is fire. The drinks are good value I see a taco Tuesday deal that looks intriguing. Wednesday is happy hour all day. Fuji is also a nice looking place. I really enjoyed the suro roll. The food overall is good quality. Even basic stuff like wakame salad is a tick better than average. You should try it, or not and leave space for me at the bar.

Linh N.

Yelp
Great place for happy hour! 3 stars for food 5 stars for service Overall rating = 4 stars Food out of 5 stars: 1-Fried calamari (bland needs salt) 2-Spicy tuna (buffet quality) 3-Spider roll (loved the soft shell crab but something was amiss) 4-Futomaki roll (good size and enjoyed the veggies) 5-Bulgogi fries (was our fave) 3-Sashimi (slices too thin for the price) 5-great beer! Would return to try their other items that aren't sushi. Overall the service was great and the ambiance was busy and nice. Extra points for clean restrooms.

Pam H.

Yelp
Stopped in while in Sac for an appointment because they had. You guessed it, Karrage Chicken! It turns out it was right before happy hour so I was a happy camper. The decor in Fuji is beautiful and dripping in Asian elegance. Service was attentive and very friendly-love that! I wanted to try a few things so I added the Kalbi tacos to the karrage chicken order. Both were delightful but the Piece de resistance were the pickled veg. Pickled veg is appearing on my plate more regularly and I'm in love! This is a great little spot. So happy I found it!

Lynn H.

Yelp
The happy hour is where its at! So we came in not expecting a whole lot - Just some good drinks and bar food. Oooh boy, we got that and then some. The drinks were super good! The specialty "coming home" drink - Which is a old fashioned styled drink has some smoke added to it for flavoring. Johnny, the mixologist, mentioned that it doesn't translate well, but I disgree! I think the smokiness is nice and it comes through. I also enjoyed the calamansi margarita, but I don't know if I loved the togorashi rim. Johnny was super sweet and checked up on us a few times. We could tell that they were short staffed and really appreciate him coming around. The sashimi combo was fresh and tasty. I also really enjoyed the salt and pepper wings. My hubs fav thing was the macadamia nut shrimp. Definitely excited to come back to try other things!

Stacey F.

Yelp
Came excited to try brunch as a lot of the items on the menu sounded great! Unfortunately, not a single person in our party of 3 enjoyed their meal. The French toast was so wet and mushy in the middle our 7 year old couldn't even stomach it. The matcha pancakes were bitter, burnt, and tasted of old grease. The washokut set was specifically what brought me here to celebrate my birthday and boy what a disappointment. All three pieces of fish were burnt and cooked dry. One piece was so full of pin bones I gave up after several terrible bites that I had to spit out. The soup came out lukewarm. The pickles were horrendously salty and chewy. Good lord.... I wanted so badly to find something to celebrate, but nope. We ordered 2 cocktails as well, the Lychee Expeess and Fire and Ice. Neither were impressive. It was a bummer. With the high ratings on this place, brunch must just not be the meal to come for.

Bob T.

Yelp
The service and atmosphere are very good ... We went for happy hour and ordered the rainbow roll, the chefs nigiri ,the torched salmon , macadamia nut shrip and the salt and pepper split wings ... All in all everything was good ... Just nothing stood out ... The nigiri was 4 pieces and just avg for the price... The salmon was good yet the grilled garlic stole the show for flavor... Salt and pepper wings errored on the side of salt ... I thought the shrimp was the best , however, they were basically honey walnut shrip with macadamia nuts instead of walnuts ... All in all, we had a couple drinks and the apps listed above and it was $100 ...

Julia P.

Yelp
The service was great and I highly reccomend the seared garlic salmon. It tasted fresh with only a hint of spice. 10/10.

Vicky P.

Yelp
It was our first time trying Fuji and it was so good! We came on a Thursday so all of the rolls were $10. The menu seemed small for sushi rolls but everything we ordered was so good! The calamari and gyoza were so good and the chef even let us split the gyoza and do half meat half vegetarian which was so nice of them. The server was really nice, gave us good recommendations, and checked on us often. Nice intimate environment inside, really cute for a date night or just a casual dinner with friends! Forgot to take a picture of our sushi rolls but they were great!

Cassandra N.

Yelp
Came by on a Wednesday afternoon for a work lunch and was pleasantly surprised to find out Wednesdays are all-day happy hour! There were three of us and everything was around $100 and everyone left satisfied. The Fuji mame was fresh and delicious, and the poke tacos were texturally great! Our waiter recommend the karage, which was a lot lighter than others I've had- pretty good and the sauce it comes with pairs nicely. The chef's nigiri combo was a nice variety and very fresh. We got the rainbow, dragon, and spider rolls- all crowd pleasers. My favorite personally was the rainbow! Service was great and my boss was really happy with my choice (I took a gamble based on good reviews- thanks Yelp!)

Timothy N.

Yelp
Fuji Sacramento is a really nice spot if you're looking for good food and amazing service. My favorite thing to get is the rainbow roll which is by far the best rainbow roll i've had to date. I'll literally order two or three for myself! Everything else i've tried has been ok for me. They have a bit of everything for everyone so it's a really good spot to have a group.

Charlene G.

Yelp
Lunch date with my honey and we chose to try a new spot, Fuji Sacramento. I found Fuji while scrolling on IG and the newly renovated interior with its sleek, modern, clean, contemporary style is what drew me to come in. They are specifically open daily for lunch (&brunch on the weekends) from 11:00am-3:00pm. For lunch I opted to try the Lunch Combination Bento Plate, which came with Kalbi Beef, Seasame Chicken, 1 brown of rice and a bowl of yummy miso soup, 2 pieces of crispy gyoza and 2 pieces of California roll...all for only $15! Such a great deal! Everything was delicious, from the perfectly seasoned miso soup, cripsy n' crunchy deadname chicken, and my favorite the Kalbi beef (deboned). I would absolutely eat her again because they have many "street food" items I want to try. Service was okay, there was a slight wait when we walked in. No one was at the front to greet us, there wasn't a sign to wait for a host so that was confusing.

Yvonne F.

Yelp
We met friends for dinner as it was their first time to Fuji's! We called and made reservations for a Monday night, might not of been necessary because when we arrived he didn't check to confirm that we had reservations! Salt and Pepper Chicken wings for appetizers was not a disappointment! Two of us had the Fish and Chips, another had Teriyaki Chicken and the Sukiyaki! Everything was great! My husband was happy that they accommodated him with a raw egg for the sukiyaki! There aren't many restaurants serving sukiyaki so it was a treat! We passed on the dessert! It was great to visit with Russell.

Yelp
Fuji was one of the Japanese restaurants I use to go to back in the day when there weren't very many Japanese restaurants located in Sacramento. There were only a handful. Then Fuji closed. Now there's plenty of Japanese restaurants in the area and I would probably try going to one of the other one, other than the newly opened Fuji. This was very disappointing. We ordered a variety of dishes. They all sounded very good on the menu. We ordered the ribs, and they were dry. The Agedashi tofu was very salty. I couldn't finish it. Too salty. The cooked miso salmon was overcooked, and the sauce was not good. It wasn't edible. The sashimi was ok, but you can taste it wasn't as fresh as it should be. We were very disappointed and not satisfied. We paid for an expensive dinner we did not like at all. The upside is our server was very nice and the decor of the place was nice. The atmosphere of the restaurant was good. Parking is street parking or across the street where the market is.

Sarah L.

Yelp
Quality: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Value: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 A super fun menu with lots of delicious options - especially on the small plates/ app section. We stopped in for a quick bit. It wasn't crowded. Kitchen was super fast but the bar was slow. The drink was good but it didn't arrive until mid meal. The wait staff, kitchen, and bar seem to be operating on their own timelines. Everything was cooked well: taste and presentation were very good. I'd return for food but lower my expectations on the service or just do take out.

Vanessa V.

Yelp
This place was just okay. Came here and made it in time for HH so ordered everything off that. We actually tried a lot of food and nothing really stood out to us. We tried the kalbi tacos, macademia shrimp, garlic salmon, chefs nigiri combo, dragon, and dynamite roll. I even tried the lychee express drink because I love anything lychee but sadly struggled to finish it because it didn't have much of a lychee taste to it at all. I don't think we'd come back

Nina V.

Yelp
Fuji has become a restaurant we frequently visit or order from because 1) the food is very good, and 2) the location is perfect for us. - Nikuyaki udon: my favorite dish whether it's chilly or warm outside. The only downside is that the quality varies, I think, depending on which chef is there for the day or who's cooking it. It has been good overall, but there were several times when it was a complete miss (unflavorful broth, scummy broth due to raw meat cooking in the broth vs. separately). - Lumpia: another one of our favorites. It's always perfectly crispy and pairs so well with the chili dipping sauce. - Chicken teriyaki: we've ordered this at the restaurant, and it was pretty good. For take-out, we literally just got a box of rice and a few pieces of chicken. It was so skimpy and such a let down. - Sushi rolls: we've tried nearly all of their rolls, and they're good, though nothing to rave about. I wish they had more rolls, but I understand they have a ton of other items on the menu and aren't necessarily a sushi restaurant.

Jared Y.

Yelp
Fuji is fantastic. We came here a couple weeks ago because their sister restaurant, Aji, had been our favorite place before closing. It honestly felt like reuniting with an old friend. The food here is absolutely delicious, the ambience is a little bit more subdued and almost intimate comparatively but it still serves as an excellent date night spot. The Kalbi Fries are amazing, as well as the Yakiniku Ribs, lumpia, and split wings. We almost always end up just splitting several appetizers because of how good they are. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

Aman S.

Yelp
Had dinner with a friend here last night and it did not disappoint!! It was our first time here but definitely won't be the last. Food 5/5. Service 5/5. Ambiance 5/5 Johnny, our bartender made the most spectacular drinks! He also recommended some options to try, which were a hit. There was no wait. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu and friendly. We were also offered not one but two complementary desserts!! Definitely check this place out!

Jeff ..

Yelp
Took about 10 minutes before someone noticed us to get us seated. The sushi was not very fresh. Seemed like it had been sitting out rather than being freshly cut. Not a good way to have raw seafood. We left half of the fish uneaten. I would not go back.

Jimmy A.

Yelp
- The food was tasty and the dessert was delicious. - Service was quick and nice. - Ambiance was lively and friendly. - A really nice experience. - Recommend.

Paulina M.

Yelp
Food was amazing, service was great, fish was so fresh! Had cucumber salad, edamame, rainbow roll, miso soup, chirashi, pepperfin, and sashimi plate, and it was all perfect. They gave weekend happy hour! Go here, it's divine!

Leesa K.

Yelp
Food was all AMAZING! Our favorite restaurant for dinner on any night! Very high quality fish and delicious fusion flavor on all their dishes. Grand Raw $50--thick slices of speciality sashimi, the price was so WORTH IT. Best fish quality and variety! Fresh raw scallops melt in your mouth. The freshly chopped wasabi was insanely good.. I never want ordinary wasabi paste again. Rainbow roll $15, ruki roll $15, and bon bon $19--all delicious with different flavor profiles! The bon bon was especially good, mainly crab topped with lightly torched raw salmon. Japanese split wings $14--perfect amount of seasoning on tender chicken wings must order! Prices are reasonable and comparable to other Japanese restaurants in the area, but food quality and flavor is so much better! No brainer as our go-to for Japanese food in Sac.

Yelp
I ordered to go on a Friday, so review is solely on the food. I was looking for fish and chips and was surprised to see Fuji's pop up, so I ordered online. I tried calling, but no one answered. It took about 20 minutes after I put in the order online before I got a text stating my order was ready. This place is located next to the target on Riverside. Parking is in the neighborhood next to it or across the street as others have stated. The food was good. I thought it was pricey at $21, but you do get a great amount of food. Enough for 2 meals. I got 3 large pieces of fish that was battered in what was similar to what butterfly shrimp are battered in. It isn't your typical wet batter if that is what you are looking for. The fries or "chips" are well seasoned as well. Since I ordered to go, it did get soggy in the to go container and wasn't as crispy as I would like. But still tasted great. I would order again and do want to try eating in restaurant. Well update if I get the chance.

Brittany L.

Yelp
Came when they opened for happy hour. They have a great selection of drinks, apps, sashimi, and sushi rolls on their happy hour menu. A lot of offerings!! Calamari- super tender, light breading. Good portion for two people to share. Chicken lumpia- it has been a while since Ive had lumpia and it did not disappoint! Lots of flavor and the sauce has a little kick. Macadamia shrimp- great flavor and shrimp were nice and plump. Not over cooked at all. It was a pretty generous serving. CA roll- 8 piece and very good size. They did the sushi rice just right! Sashimi- my husband devoured before I got a picture. Extremely fresh and good variety of fish. A little small but I think it is fairly typical. Plus it was on happy hour. Kids chicken teriyaki- a little basic but chicken was cooked really well and it was a pretty thick piece. Definitely have leftovers for tomorrow. Rolls came out before apps, but I was so hungry I didn't mind. Servers were friendly and food didn't take long to come out.

Yelp
This japanese brunch is an interesting existence. Their outside is decorated with the stone art which gives some zen feeling at first. And inside the shop there're more. There are not too many dishes to choose from but enough for our taste. I like the fact that they've designed the dish to be a fusion of traditional Japanese breakfast with American brunch style. I personally like my order of bento with grilled fish which has the fish grilled and flavored the right amount. Others in my party also ordered French toast with sausage, and they are also satisfied with their choice. This shop is pretty clean and without a lot of noise like other brunch shops. There are some parking on the roadside just outside of the shop.

David L.

Yelp
I was excited to see that the old Fuji's location was reopened by another owner and blessed by the old family. We decided to go there fore dinner. I didn't have a reservation but there wasn't any problem since we were just after 5 and there were only a few people inside. We were seated right away. Oh I was able to get a parking sport right outside the door since it was raining that was a plus. I am not sure if they have a parking lot. Otherwise street parking it is. If is gets busy here that may be a problem later. The entrance is on the 13th Street side of the building. I love the Asian decor inside. The large painting of a Samurai is amazing. They have a big bar aera as you walk in that looks pretty nice. It had a variety of liquors. I forgot to take a picture of the drink menu since I didn't drink that night. I looked through the menu and it was a mix of stuff. I thought there would be more sushi but i think Fuji wasn't really a roll kind of place and it shows now too. There were only 9 rolls and they were pretty basic sounding. We didn't get any rolls tonight. We ordered the Yakiniku ribs, honey soy sea bass, Misoyaki salmon, Agedashi tofu and I got the Shinjuku combo. We wanted to try a variety and get some sushi too. Our server asked if the ribs should come out first and I told her yes. She walked away and a few minutes went by and our food showed up. This was strange since it was only a few minutes. It's not a Mexican restaurant. The three items first were our mains to. The guy went to the back and brought out the rest of our order. We are at a two person table and we had to move things around just to fit it all on the table. It was like I was at a Hell's kitchen show. No one ordered and you're already cooking food. It's supposed to be started as you order. Why did she ask if I wanted the ribs, appetizer first out then? Then all the food comes out. Very wrong. I started with the hot food first since my sushi could wait. The sea bass wasn't soft like I expected. It was, how should I say a little clumpy? not really chewy and the flavor was just ok. I was expecting a melt in your mouth kind of think. The salmon was over cooked and we left it. The waitress asked if there was anything wrong and she immediately said she would take it off our bill which was really nice. It was a nice size though. I thought the ribs were over cooked too and dry but the wife said they were ok. I thought the pickled cucumbers were the best thing on the table. The Agedashi tofu was ok as far as the tofu. The sauce was way too salty. She didn't finish it. Now to the sushi. I enjoyed the salmon and it tasted fresh but the other tuna wasn't that fresh. Sushi place needs to have fresh sushi. There are too many sushi places out there and you just won't last in this town. So just ok. Yeah very disappointed with this new Fuji's. The quality of the sushi, and other food. As well as their detail to cooking it. I noticed several groups of older Asians visiting the place for the first time as we did and I know it's hard to follow in the footsteps of the old restaurant. Hopefully they improve .

Yelp
We received fantastic service at Fuji last night! Seeing that it was a Tuesday night (and the restaurant wasn't too busy) our waiter, plus a couple other staff members, spent some time just chatting with my husband and I. They recommended items off the menu, made sure our drinks tasted great, offered us a freebie just because, invited us to check them out for Sunday brunch, and even gave us a coupon to use for 10% off should we return. They went above and beyond and were attentive to all the details of our visit. I hope word of their professionalism and tasty food gets around quick, as I would love to see them succeed (they're not even 2 months old yet). As far as food - everything we ate was really flavorful and cooked to perfection. We kept our meal simple this time, ordering only a few items: -miso soup (yummy) -gyoza, 5 pieces (yummy) -macadamia shrimp (also yummy... and more shrimp than I expected to receive) -yuzu baby greens salad with seared salmon -couple drinks I can't remember the names of (all pleasant!) The standout dish was the salad, actually. It had very unique flavors, delicious dressing, and a great portion of the salmon. My husband couldn't stop raving. And he's not even a salad guy. Small caveat about the ambience - although the restaurant is tastefully decorated, it was a little strange to have no music playing in the background. This became very apparent once a big, chatty group had finished their dinner and left the restaurant, leaving a strange silence. Minor issue, but perhaps Fuji staff will take note *wink*. Anyway, go give this place a visit and welcome them with love!

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and head here if you're craving Japanese. Every single thing we ordered here was insanely good, and that's a hard thing to achieve. We started off with the crispy calamari--pretty tasty, we liked that the batter wasn't overdone and didn't feel like Cap'n Crunch. The cocktail sauce paired really well with it. The Suro roll was de-li-cious. Just *chef's kiss.* No notes. I scarfed it down within minutes. The Truffle Nori fries were also reaaally goooood. The fries were perfectly... well... fried. Just the right amount of crispiness on the outside and right amount of soft, fluffy potato on the inside. And the perfect amount of truffle oil too. The drinks were yummy too. The Fuji Colada was a subtly sweet drink with hints of pineapple and coconut (bonus that you couldn't really taste the alcohol) and The Momo was surprisingly refreshing. The minty soda was a nice addition. We were served by John who's an experienced bartender and gave us great recommendations that we couldn't pass up. Real attentive with us. Thank you John! The restaurant wasn't like anything we expected it to look from the outside. It's nicely decorated and has a modern-meets-classy kind of vibe. Honestly reminded me of eating at an art museum. The vibes are so immaculate in there that we asked John if we could sit at a booth to be closer to the art prints on the wall! They even have an area upstairs for banquets/events and stuff. Way cool. When I'm back in the area, this is definitely the place to go to splurge.

Yelp
They handled our massive group well in the upstairs dining area, and they did a great job serving so many people. Sushi is not bad (at least when it comes out by the platter), green beans did the job, I think we had salad, salmon, and chicken katsu there somewhere-- the last was the best, I think, as the salmon did not leave much of an impression in my mind (or taste buds). Parking is street parking as well as a slightly ill-marked lot across the street.

Yelp
Came here for lunch today, my partner ordered a plate of eggs, spam, and fried rice off the brunch menu and she really enjoyed it. I got the 3 way sake nigiri again which is always good. I tried the bon bons which I recommend getting as an appetizer to share with others it was very flavorful. The service was fast and friendly. It wasn't too busy on a Sunday around 12/1.

Yelp
The entrance to Fuji is located on 13th street. There is street parking and a parking lot across the street. The interior is nice, and the service was good. We went for brunch which is on Saturday and Sunday from 9-2. I ordered the washoku set which comes with rice, miso soup, steamed rice, tsukemono (pickled vegetables), tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette), grilled salmon, and saba shio yaki (grilled mackerel). This traditional Japanese breakfast was good. We also shared the matcha mochi pancakes which were just average. I would order the washoku set again, but pass on the pancakes.

Yelp
Aji Japanese Bistro in El Dorado Hills and Fuji Sacramento are owned and managed by the same owners, both restaurants being excellent! While Aji serves more fusion or classic Japanese dishes, Fuji serves more traditional style Japanese food. Parking could be a pain especially at night since there are no lights in the nearby parking spaces. I hear they are working on getting lights nearby. The security guard was nice enough to guide us back to our vehicles. Very nice ambiance. When you walk through the entrance they have a very colorful bar area. It looked like an area of a scene from a movie. They have happy hour from 3 pm to 5 pm. I liked all the Japanese paintings on the walls throughout the restaurant and there was plenty of lighting. There are two floors to the restaurant. I think the second floor is for huge parties or events. Service was very good. Our server seemed to always be around if we needed him. Everyone working here were very friendly. The food was tasty. We ordered 2 sushi rolls. Both were very yummy. I ordered their sukiyaki. The broth was good and it was balanced well with veggies, tofu, ribeye, mushrooms, takenoko (bamboo shoot) and noodles. I liked how there was a lot of kamaboko fish cake in it as well. Meat was very tender. Highly recommend checking this place out when you get the chance! It was a great overall experience!

Yelp
I had a very pleasant dinning experience at Fuji. We ordered the Agedashi tofu, macadamia shrimp, and tempura for appetizers. Every dish was delicious. For our entrees, we ordered 2 rolls and garlic noodles. The dragon roll and the other roll (I cannot recall the name) were great as well. The seafood tasted fresh. I also enjoyed the garlic noodles. I will surely make return visits to this establishment.

Yelp
My family held my surprise 40th birthday party here. The food, service, and ambiance was amazing. The staff was so welcoming and friendly. I felt like I had been coming for years even though it was my first time coming. The hamachi was very tasty and had the right amount of kick. The salad and green beans were very good. The steak was incredibly tender. We also had the cocktail bar open and had the Lychee Express and Lavender Lemon Drop. Both were good. The lychee in the Lychee Express is soaked in pure alcohol so be wary of that and the Lavender Lemon Drop wasn't overly sweet, which was very nice. We had a catered party of approximately 40-50 people and the staff was amazing. Parking is a bit of a pain, especially when there's leaves on the ground in the parking lot so you can't tell where the lines are starting or ending. We will definitely be coming again.

Yelp
So I stumbled upon this place about 2 weeks ago. Been there about five times already. Monday is 50% off on their street food. Tuesday is $2 Taco Tuesday with choices of grilled (mahi-mahi, crispy cod, or beef) Wednesdays all day Day happy hour and Thursday is $5 old fashions and $10 rolls. Not only is the staff extremely friendly and helpful, they have a top notch bar with many of the mixes made in house & their food is amazing and so tasty

Yelp
Fuji is located on Broadway and has delicious and fresh Japanese dishes. I will have to say, their Garlic noodles are to die for, REALLY! I do hope they offered more sushi roll options but all their eats are a good option. They have a good variety of different dishes which is a plus. Overall the food was good. We did go in the evening which is why we might have been served by the bartender instead of a server. This is what was ordered : *Tonkotsu *Garlic noodle *Rainbow Roll *Nigiri: 3 ways to Sake, bluefin, hamachi Drinks: HAJIMARI "the beginning" KITAKU SURU "Coming home"

Yelp
Went during the week for the chefs tasting menu. Not sure how often the dishes change, but it's a semi pre-fixed menu. You get your choice of the listed appetizers, 2 entrees and chefs choice dessert - which for the price is a freakin deal. Fish was perfectly prepared, both raw and cooked. The salmon was flaky and moist, which is not always what you get at restaurants. Fun cocktails, and our server was very attentive to our dietary restrictions at the table. Would recommend!

Yelp
We returned last night to try again from our March experience when it was so bad we thought to never go back. Last night food & service was excellent. Place was hopping, bustling and love the bar vibe. Tempura outstanding, miso salmon outstanding. We will be back for their terrific happy hour menu!

Yelp
If you grew up in Sacramento, the name Fujii was iconic to Japanese food. We used to go there for authentic Japanese food, and especially for the sesame chicken. When we found out that Russell Okubo was going to reopen Fuji's we were so excited, because we already love Aji Bistro in El Dorado Hills. We were so fortunate to be able to enjoy the grand opening festivities and couldn't wait to get a reservations in to try the New Fuji's Japanese restaurant! The food did not disappoint us at all, and the food and surface was excellent as expected. The bar and all the seating and especially all the family artwork, combined with the old and new created a special nostalgic ambience for the restaurant. All the past memories of parties and dances flashed through my mind as I walked up the stairs to the second floor.. Fuji's is going to delight a lot of people from the past and new..
