A Guide to the Ultimate Staycation in Portland’s Old Town-Chinatown | Eater Portland

"I made a reservation ahead of time for Lechon, a wood-fired South American restaurant down by the waterfront; in the warmly lit dining room anchored by eye-catching aquariums filled with undulating jellyfish I sat down for dishes inspired by the Patagonia region and Peru, including pastel de choclo and lomo saltado." - Janey Wong

Excellent food quality. We tried ceviche, alpaca, pizza, and seafood fried rice. All dishes were good size and well balanced. Alpaca was made, medium rare as asked and tasted delicious. Ceviche acidity was well balanced. Staff were friendly and accommodating to kids needs. We would come back here again. Keep in mind this place is tailored to tourists.

I was craving chicarron cerdo and here I went. The place is located next to the river, and if you get a window seat you can watch the river while munching your food. But I went there at night so I just had the river watch me munching instead. Since I was craving chicarron cerdo, I had their… chicarron cerdo ofc. It’d be weird if I had their ceviche. And a pint of their craft beer (I had their ale one). The appetiser was this mix potato and sweet potato chips with spicy mayo dip. This was reaaally good. Surprisingly good. The spicy mayo was proper spicy and the chips were crispy as hell. The pint was super delicious! It’s cold and taste very refreshing. The name of the beer was Sacred Valley something.. I really like it. The cerdo.. was okay. The presentation was really nice tho. It came with this sautéed corn with (maybe) oregano or other herbs which I kinda like, thick fried of potatoes and sweet potatoes, and mint sauce. The sauce was… ok. The cerdo was thick and juicy. I was kinda expecting the skin would be crackling but it’s not. It wasn’t bad but wasn’t mind blowing either. But overall a good dish. The service was superb tho. The server gave me a cute llama key chain at the end. Price was ok.. everything is bit of more expensive in Aguas Calientes.

Amazing Peruvian Cuisine with a Stunning View! We had an incredible dining experience at Full House Peruvian Cuisine in Machu Picchu. The customer service was excellent, special thanks to Zoë for taking such great care of us. The food was absolutely delicious, and having a beautiful view of the river made the experience even better. I totally recommend this place! Our total for two people was approximately $65 USD, and it was well worth it.

There are many restaurants around here that serve roasted guinea pig, but this is the one you should choose. The guinea pig is first served whole, and the staff then cut it up right in front of you at the table. The meat was rich, tender, and delicious. The performance of pouring a flaming sauce over it is also worth seeing. We also enjoyed the live Peruvian music. The price is a bit on the higher side, but we were very glad we chose this restaurant. Sorry we didn’t leave a tip—we didn’t realize it was expected.

We had an amazing dinner at the Full House. Very friendly and attentive staff, speak good English. Our waiter was wonderful, helpful with suggestions. The food was delicious, beautifully presented. My fish platter was delicious, extra spicy on request. We also ordered a vegan aubergine dish and a beef dish rightfully called a Peruvian hug.

5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Restaurant! The views were amazing! The food was good overall. I tried the alpaca burger definitely different from what I’m used to, but I was pleasantly surprised. Even the ketchup was a little different in a good way. The house wine was good as well, and our waiter was very helpful and attentive.

Full House is a beautifully decorated restaurant with views of the Aguas Calientes River next to it. After browsing through the menu of Full House, we chose to have the roasted guinea pig (Cuy – 112 soles or about $40 SGD) which was good to share. When the Cuy arrived, it was a rather large guinea pig and it even came with a fire and on-site cutting presentation. We must say that the skin was really crisp and the meat was tender... Excellent food, atmosphere and service. Cristofer was attentive and much fun. Big thank you to the Chef for carving the meat and explaining in detail about the roasted guinea pig. Ceviche could be better hence the 4 stars. Would go back again.
