"Portland is home to some of America’s most-acclaimed Thai restaurants, both past and present. But it’s also a town packed with dozens of good-to-excellent Thai spots that don’t require a special occasion or stretch the budget. Full Moon Thai is the Hollywood neighborhood’s anchor Thai destination, reliably delivering favorites like papaya salad, pad see ew, and a bounty of 10 different curries. Patrons dining in after 8 p.m. can enjoy the happy hour pricing: Most dishes are several dollars cheaper, and the already affordable house cocktails are just $8. Dine in the casual but warm dining room or in covered patio seating." - Nathan Williams

The food is great and the waitress is very nice and helpful. Pad Thai is very well prepared. The eggrolls are fried just right. Orange chicken is deep fried with pure chicken meat without the breading or whatever KFC uses. Overall, good experience and worth going frequently from Battle Ground, Washington.

Google
Outstanding food. The curry the seafood ingredients are large generous fresh and delicious. Best Thai food I think I have ever eaten. Two years later I won't change the review after two months in Thailand. This is an authentic Thai restaurant.

Google
Consistently delicious! I lived in Thailand for years and this place always transports me back. We love their green curry, pepper chicken, drunken noodles, mango and sticky rice. Eat in or dine out. The food is hot, made to order, nothing pretentious about it. Aloi mak! Mee kwamsook!

Google
Delicious food. Didn’t take any pictures other than the ice cream because I was too busy eating Chicken is good. Curry is subtle and not overpowering leaving you with food coma and a chalky mouth. Pad see ew is great very good flavor extremely authentic. Waitresses are very friendly and sweet. Great home style food that is very comforting

Google
This place was easy to find off Google maps. Got lucky and was able to park right at front. The food was good. Thai food is one of my go tos so I've had my fare shares of good and bad. This place was a lil above average but not great. I had the pineapple fried rice and Pad See Ew. Both plates were good. The noodles thick and covered in sauce. I did appreciate the portion size. They are very generous. Price was appropriate for the amount and quality. I would give it my seal of approval #fatboyapproved #gorditoapproved and fianlly... yes. I would return

Google
A decent, slightly above average, Thai food restaurant. They have a nice little space and the staff couldn’t be nicer. It’s not in my top five Thai restaurants, but it serves the purpose here locally for its convenience.

Phyllis Strawn

Google
Great food, very fresh, and delicious. Kind people and a nice outdoor patio as well as indoor dining. They have excellent salad rolls and very good cocktails.

Google
This is the reason I never try new places. So disappointed in the pad Thai. Bland, zero flavor, dry chicken. So sad when you pay almost $20 for a meal.

Yelp
Best Thai in PDX-especially the curry; a quick comparison of menus with other Thai restaurants and you'll make your way to Full Moon Thai.

Yelp
This was my first time at Full Moon Thai, and although I enjoyed it, I cannot say I had a faultless experience. To be fair, I had come as part of a very large group, so I want to acknowledge that this would likely strain the staff. However, the service I experienced left something to be desired. We had originally ordered the chicken pad thai, but we were served the surprise pad thai, which has different noodles and protein. When we told the waitress, we were not met with a very hospitable response--she essentially told us that it was what we ordered, and that the kitchen staff already made it, so she couldn't just take it back. I found this response, along with her agitated tone, to be somewhat off-putting, especially since we definitely did not order it incorrectly. After a little back and forth, she eventually did exchange it for the correct dish. Besides this little mishap, the food itself was rather good, and it definitely hits the spot. The portion sizes were also great. I recommend ordering as a group so that you can try different dishes and flavors. We had a curry dish, pad thai, and pad see ew. I think I would skip on the curry, but I did like the pad thai. The restaurant itself is rather small, but they do have inside and outside seating. If going as a big group, I definitely recommend calling ahead to RSVP. I would describe the ambiance as cozy and intimate. Overall, a pretty solid restaurant! The service initially left a bad taste, but the food made up for most of that!

Yelp
So my 20yo kid comes into my work from home office, at 4, while I am working, saying "Mom, I NEED Thai foood." The kid has been so sick lately and not eating much at all, so I caved. "Ok, order Door Dash. Go ahead." Kid chose Full Moon Thai because of its high ratings and free delivery. Door Dash is still spendy, don't get me wrong, but this was a good choice. Full Moon is nowhere near us and the food still arrived quickly. It was hot and fresh. It was pretty perfect. Kid ordered tofu salad rolls and was dazzled by them not falling apart and being delicious. There was an expensive but refreshing Thai iced tea the kid said was very good. Kid ordered the All in one combination appetizer platter with 4 crab rangoon ( yummy) 2 chicken satay (delicious), 2 spring rolls ( basic) and 4 wontons ( good!) that came with multiple sauces. I have no idea how the sauces were, kid ate them all which probably means they were tasty. I wish there had been more chicken satay because one was not enough. Kid ordered chicken pad see ew and reportedly was satisfied. Kid ordered pork pad see ew for me which I ate cold after work at 7. I still have not found the microwave in our pile of boxes. I did find chopsticks though! Anyway. It was delicious. The noodles were perfect, it had that smoky wok hei thing going on, and the pork was pretty tasty. There were a lot of caramelized carrots and four pieces of broccoli. It could have had more broccoli but I am not going to nitpik, it was too good. We had another pad see ew recently that was pretty mediocre and this one shined like a diamond in comparison. So, Full Moon Thai is a big yes. Sorry I only got one photo. :) Too busy eating.

susie K.

Yelp
I absolutely love the food here. One of our go-tos for takeout. And ordering online is great because its easy to add or take away ingredients - like add more broccoli or no tomatoes, please. The restaurant is divided into a few sections- a counter area where you pick up to go orders and the dining room has been divided into dining and storage which doesn't feel the most comfortable to me. But, the table service is quick and efficient. I ordered the margarita and I will skip it next time. Street parking and bathroom in the back.

Alyssa S.

Yelp
I was very disappointed with the food that I ordered here!! The "Yellow Curry" didn't taste right, or look right. The "Orange Chicken" was REALLY dry, and at the bottom of the container there was a bunch of liquid so everything was soggy at the bottom. The "sticky rice" was such a small amount I was very surprised, and then once I put it onto my plate I realized it was EXTREMELY rock hard. I couldn't eat it. I called the restaurant and talked with a lady and the customer service was really good, she was friendly and understanding.

Shawna E.

Yelp
Reliably good. I can get all my favorite dishes in a vegan version. Many Thai restaurants still include fish sauce or shrimp paste in their vegetable and tofu dishes, but Full Moon Thai always makes a delicious truly vegan version.

Aaron M.

Yelp
Pad Kee Mao. Definitely my favorite Thai dish, however, from Full Moon, it was just ok. The flavor was fine, but somewhat blah. It lacked pizzazz. It was medium spice, which is what I always get. I'd say that was accurate, but again the dish was simply average. Nothing special at all. The portion size was very good and the ingredients seemed fresh, but I had to add my own sauces to it to give it the punch and flavor I desire. The salad roles and peanut sauce were good though. It had been several years since I ordered food from Full Moon. With all the delicious Thai food options in Portland, it will likely be several years more...

Brandon B.

Yelp
Great Thia and Curry, fast service, very cozy seating area and welcoming atmosphere. I will definitely come here often for curry.

Bobbie C.

Yelp
The service was so friendly. The food was a good value and so good. I highly recommend getting the side of peanut sauce.

Leslie S.

Yelp
Came here on whim one day (as I was in the area) and I had an overall great experience! From the outside, it's a non-assuming building with a cute patio (definitely catches the eye despite being on a large, busy road.) Parking is mostly street parking in the neighborhood behind the restaurant but there is plenty of space. Walking in, I was greeted with warmth by two very nice women. I ordered takeout and only had to wait about 10-15 min. As I waited, I was asked if I wanted water which I thought was definitely a sign of 'above average' customer service. I ordered the salad rolls and pad fresh ginger with chicken. The salad rolls were a decent size and pretty well priced (I've seen some that go for $8 to even $11 (!) which I think is kind of ridiculous so these being $6 were well worth the price.) The sauce was plentiful and warm and a bit on the sweeter side for my liking but still pretty good. As for the pad fresh ginger (which is basically a stir fry with various veggies), I thought the flavor was good and portion size was between good and generous. I did feel like the ratio of meat to veggies was lacking a BIT but that's only if I'm being super nit picky. Would definitely go back and love to try dining in!

Louanne F.

Yelp
I stopped by this place because I was in the area and didn't want to wait over an hour for another restaurant. The inside fits quite a few table and is a pretty intimate and cozy restaurant. It feels very welcoming and family friendly. When I stopped by, it happened to be almost 8pm and the happy hour menu is from 8pm to close. That menu consists of discounted appetizers, salads, soup and entrees as long as you order a drink with it. The ONLY CATCH is it's for dine in only, one drink per participant, no substitutions and no Togo containers will be provided. Either you finish everything or you will have to toss it. We had an order of the happy hour chicken Pad Thai with Thai iced tea and a regular order of chicken Pad Kee Mao. The Thai iced tea was flavorful (not watered down), but very sweet, just like how Thai iced teas always are. The chicken Pad Thai was flavorful and tasty. It is one of the better Pad Thais that I've had in Portland. I generally don't order Pad Thai since most of the time it is either too bland or not very tasty. The Pad See Ew on the other hand is only average, there was nothing spectacular about it. I would return to this restaurant but probably would not order the Pad See Ew again, I would try something different.

Paktinun Nat N.

Yelp
Salad roll and peanut sauce here are the best!! We love the patio which was very cozy. The food are amazing. One of the best green curry you could find in Portland. I would say it is pretty much similar to what we can get in Bangkok. The staffs are very accommodating. I have so many questions and requests. The waitress was very nice and able to answer all the questions politely. We love it and will visit again.

Jules W.

Yelp
Deliciously fresh salad rolls with plenty of peanut sauce! The chicken satay is very tender and the service was great too.

Madelynn D.

Yelp
The food here was terrible. I got the beef noodle soup and it was not good. Both the meatballs and strips of beef did not taste quite right. The broth was not great either and had a spicy flavor that was not appealing. Soup had no vegetables despite saying it did on the menu. My friend got crispy chicken and was so disgusted by it she didnt eat anything but the rice. Menu also was missing a lot of traditional Thai dishes. To be honest, would not have considered a Thai restaurant in Ireland but the city was packed and this was one of the only places that could take us (but the food explains why).

Brook B.

Yelp
I got the tofu & veggie salad rolls... the sauce was still warm when it showed up to my house, and the amount of sauce is way more than expected or any other place I've experienced. Super good!

Jayne H.

Yelp
We tried this place again and LOVED it. Everything tasted amazing. Portions were bigger now. Very happy. We will be coming back very soon.

A J.

Yelp
Ordered the pad kee mao and massuman curry yesterday, flavor was okay but we ordered "hot" and "make me cry", the hot was mild with no spice and make me cry was a little spicy. There was a pebble at the bottom of my curry that I chipped one of my teeth on. Very concerning that a rock made it into my takeout food.

Suraj P.

Yelp
Cozy little place with good food. Best part of this restaurant is well decorated with plants. I drink mango ginger mocktail. which was the best drink I have ever had in any restaurant. we ordered chicken satay with papaya salad, som tum, and crispy green bean with chicken. Everything tastes yummy. we're not done yet but the different lady (not our waitress) came to our table and took the plate with little food left. They need to make sure if we were done eating. I hope this will not happen to others.

Patrick M.

Yelp
Reasonable prices, great tofu salad spring rolls and great peanut sauce. I have driven by this place many times, but I'm glad I finally stopped to check it out. Their menu also has a nice selection of tofu and veg options. I also love their cute front patio for outdoor dining.

Zion G.

Yelp
Food is really good, i recommend the shrimp fried rice but I keep finding hair in my food

Alyss C.

Yelp
Amazing couple running this business, food was great, reasonable prices, nice people there and very cleanly environment. Give them a shot and you won't regret it! Definitely go with their angel wings if you wanna try new style fried wings!

Ka'ala L.

Yelp
My girl friends and I were looking to try a thai resturant that we have never been to. We went here because we have drove pass it several times when going to blind onion. We walked in and were greeted quickly. The interior decor was nice and the food cooking in the kitchen smelled wonderful. We each ordered an appetizer to share and our own entree. We ordered the sampler platter, chicken satay and potstickers to start off. For our main course they ladies got chicken and shrimp pad thai. I ordered shrimp pad phet. All of it was delicious.

Constance S.

Yelp
I can be picky about Thai food! I do have to say my food was great! I lived the ambiance of the restaurant as well and plan on adding this to my list of regular Thai restaurants!

Paapare K.

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant in Portland. Everything is awesome. Salad rolls and peanut sauce is the best!! Listen music while eating, drink some beer and chilling on the weekend is a good idea Love Full Moon Thai

Wayne H.

Yelp
We tried three curries and the vermicelli-noodle pad Thai woon sen. All were good but a bit ordinary. The eggs were missing from the woon sen. One of our party eats no carbs so we requested a side of steamed veg in place of rice. This totally befuddled the person who took the order and the kitchen. Instead, one of the curries just had more veg dumped into it. Same diff maybe.

Rachel K.

Yelp
This has become our favorite take out place during the time of COVID. We first tried it after looking for something close by and have gone back multiple times. We've enjoyed everything we've tried and they are able to accommodate for vegan and gluten free on all our orders. Delicious and reasonably priced. This place is fantastic!

Linda N.

Yelp
This place is awesome! Especially during their happy hour which is 8pm every single night until closing. The servers are super friendly and attentive. I always order their pad thai! But my boyfriends thai BBQ chicken was delicious as well!

Andrea D.

Yelp
Best Thai in Portland! Right up there with Kati, Eem and all the best Thai places! The sweetest staff too! AMAZING, wish I could give it 17 stars! Lots of vegan options!!

Elizabeth G.

Yelp
This is my favorite Thai restaurant in Portland. The yellow curry is incredibly flavorful and delicious!! The salad rolls and Thai iced tea are great, too!

Emma T.

Yelp
I went there with 5 of my co-workers today for lunch. I had chicken pad thai. Service was quick and very friendly. I love their covered outdoor seating too. Their plates come with a fried eggroll, I was sold. A piece of advice, their food is on the spicy side. Typically I go for a medium spice and here I only do mild. I believe it comes as mild, medium, hot and make me cry.

Ana K.

Yelp
Good food but what stood out most to us was the wonderful service. With all the COVID challenges and staff shortage, we had forgotten what a good restaurant service meant. Thanks to the kitchen and front staff for making and delivering a great overall dining experience.

Heather L.

Yelp
Vegetarian here! This is my favorite Thai place EVER! We get the eggplant and pumpkin stir fry and it is amazing every single time! Highly recommend!

Holly W.

Yelp
Mom and I go to place for great Thai food. Get the Thai knockout for a strong drink. Service is fast, friendly, and attentive. We haven't had a bad dish yet, try the mango surprise with chicken for a mixture of flavors and textures. Good vibe for families or date night. Get the Thai knockout!

Anton M.

Yelp
I'm here from CA visiting and found this delicious Thai restaurant. Give them five thumbs up. Thank you for serving honey drinks

Sarah A.

Yelp
This is a consistently great meal. I had delivery tonight and everything was perfect. They always have great customer service.

Chelsea H.

Yelp
Friendly staff and good food. The pad see ew with chicken could have used more veggies but it was still delicious and only $9.50. Large potions, good to take half to go. I think I saw a staff member do a food delivery and also they have take out available. Nice atmosphere insides and outdoor seating if the weather is nice.

Carl R.

Yelp
Top notch Thai!! I discovered this Portland gem during a visit from Washington, D.C. We've got great restaurants in the capital, but none that surpass this family-owned place. I came with a crowd and so had the benefit of sampling several authentic dishes. Each appetizer and every entree was superb, topped off by delicious deserts. Be sure to try the pumpkin curry, drunken noodle, and sweet rice with mango. The waitstaff were all gracious and attentive. And it was a special treat when the husband and wife chefs visited us table-side. This establishment strives to please every diner and success marvelously!

Jen S.

Yelp
Sometimes 4 stars sometimes 2. We have had delivery from these guys about 10 times over the years and they are better than other options for similar. It never sucks but it's never awesome either. I'm strictly talking delivery here... The medium spicy varies from mild to blow your face off so be open to that. Think of it as an adventure! (My mom used to say that for just about everything) The salad rolls: I call them 'hot salad burritos'. The fried rice is always my favorite. Pretty yummy. Satay is delish. Friendly service from order and delivery folks. It hits the spot when you are too lazy to cook or go out.

Jeremy L.

Yelp
Great happy hour menu after 8. Great prices, on some good food. Weird rule that you can't take any with you (it's not THAT cheap...), but still good grub. They'll make it pretty spicy for you, too. Small patio, but an okay outside space if you're needing to breath some Summer air (and watch traffic).

Duane P.

Yelp
Full Moon was burning on all 8 cylinders today. After reading the reviews and the Yelpers mentioning that prior restaurants in this space have not worked out in the past and I wasn't sure what to expect. Keep doing what you are doing and you will have no problem staying here. Susan and I had lunch and we tried the standard Thai basics. If you can do Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao right then you are probably going to do the rest of it right. They did not disappoint. I have had better Pad Kee Mao at Mee Dee but Susan said the Chicken Pad Thai was the best she has ever had. Big statement! The atmosphere was bright and airy and the service was spot on. Even the Thai Ice Tea had the right blend with not too much cream or sweetness. They even give you a little strawberry and peach bite with your check. The first I have seen do that in Portland. In a town full of Thai restaurants they do it right.

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Called to place a pick up order less than half an hour ago. Lady who answered the phone asked if I could hold. I thought, "Great, this again." Kept me on hold a.k.a. put the phone receiver down for almost ten minutes before hanging up on me without a word. Called right back and they took my order right away. What the eff?

Kristine B.

Yelp
Tried this out with a coupon, and I'm glad we found it. The colors outside are a little loud, but inside is very homey and welcoming. We had very good service. I tried the Pineapple Fried Rice and it was a pretty display with nice veges around the plate (if your menu doesn't have the fried rice page, you should ask, i did!) Good portion sizes, too. The real standout was the Sticky Rice with Mango, I would go back just for that!

Gabriella S.

Yelp
I go here all the time because it's quick and convenient. I actually have a hard time not stopping when I pass by. I've never dined in before but have always had good to-go service. The food is good, not the best I've ever had, but good enough that I go back. :)

Erin J.

Yelp
First time here and loved it. I ordered the pumpkin curry - medium and it was delicious. I loved how the lemongrass came through with each bite. The Thai ice tea was great as well. We also had egg rolls, crab puffs, chicken satay and fired wontons. I'd pass on the wontons but the rest were winners. I'll be back.

Chris L.

Yelp
Meh. Had the pad thai here and was very disappointed. It was a saucy dish, which I typically enjoy, but the sauce was soy-heavy rather than a complex array of typical pad thai spices. While I finished the dish, it really wasn't good. Also had the thai iced tea, which was a good price but more mediocre than other places. Props to them for having a legit kids menu, which is typically hard/impossible to find at thai restaurants - and the prices were great! Wait staff was friendly but not very attentive. Given the plethora of thai restaurants in Portland, we'll go elsewhere next time.

Samantha P.

Yelp
I love this little local Thai restaurant! I live in the neighborhood and go here all of the time and always have super positive experiences. The food is always fresh and well made, and you never have to wait long at all for your food to arrive, to go or while dining in. Also everyone who works there is super sweet and very accommodating. The happy hour is a good deal as well, definitely check that out if you're looking for a yummy but cheap meal or date. I know there's a ton of Thai restaurants in Portland, but this one is really great.

Samantha W.

Yelp
I have stopped in here many times for food to go. They have this crispy rice salad that is incredible. The taste and the texture are perfect. They also have a Tom Yum fried rice. So much more complex and flavorful than plain fried rice.

Bruce W.

Yelp
Hello, its 3:45pm on 12/15/17. We ate lunch at this delightful little place and were very pleased with the service and the food . Food was fresh, tasted great, clean floors and tables, and we will be back.

Kristine S.

Yelp
Everything I have ordered is awesome, appetizers, noodles, Curry! Best tofu salad rolls! Friendly and accurate when ordering delivery!

Inga B.

Yelp
Delicious, our first time here. The papaya salad was fresh and flavorful. The Pumpkin curry was amazing, as was the Tom Kha. We'll definitely be back.
