"Mid-City is getting a new brunch spot in a familiar location: Fullblast Brunch will open where Ruby Slipper Cafe once stood, on South Cortez Street. This opening is not without controversy — Ruby Slipper owners sued owner Christopher Belou over his plans for the space. Belou told Gambit that the menu is 'typical' New Orleans style with some Latin influences thrown in for good measure." - Stephanie Carter

I've been meaning to check out this spot for a while and it was definitely worth it. I love a good and hearty breakfast and this was such a treat. I had the Veggie Omlette with home fries and multigrain toast with coffee. Then, I couldn't resist trying the jalapeño cheddar grit cakes and they were so delicious. Be sure to let them cool down a bit before you stuff then in your face! Staff was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant was clean and so was the bathroom.

Full stop! The meat lover omelette with added spinach hit the spot. The cheese grits could’ve been better but they were good. The grits crab cake with jalapeño was unique but good! 3 mimosas for $16 wasn’t too bad on a Monday lol. Customer service was great, food was delicious and the food was inexpensive… parking is a little tough due to construction on a nearby property.

Found a fantastic brunch spots. Me and the girlfriend and some friends we're in town and we checked out full blast restaurant. They're special today was shrimp and grits with bacon and sauteed onions and occasion sauce that was so good and tasty. They're cold coffee cold brew that they do it's on point it is very strong so be careful if you do get it.

My boyfriend and I ate here 2 Sunday’s ago. It was so cute and intimate. We opted for outside dining. He had some breakfast platter and I had the Cajun seafood scramble. Service was wonderful and the two ladies working were super outgoing. We will definitely be back!

Perfect little brunch spot right down the street from the action. I went here after a night on bourbon after seeing all of the restaurants on the main strip were packed. The waiter was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of, even amongst the chaos. The creole scramble was a hit and very filling. As if the cheese, shrimp, roasted veggies, and eggs, weren’t enough. It was served on a whole bed of roasted potatoes under all this awesomeness. Definitely recommend ANYTHING with alcohol in it. This will definitely be my new Sunday/Funday kickoff spot when visiting!

We got the shrimp and cheddar omelet, and the full blast dish. The shrimp omelet was good, but seemed like it needed some sauce on it, but still good. The full blast was amazing. The fired jalapeños grits was the perfect twist to the dish. Not hot but you can taste the flavor that the jalapeños give off. KEN was super accommodating to us. We had our 4 month son with us and he made sure we had a decent seating inside due to the chance of rain. Overall, I would come back again and try another dish.

A very do it yourself brunch spot. Food had the flavor (full Blast Benedict) - my husband got the sausage Benedict and Stated it was good but wished there was more sausage. I was really looking forward to the crab cake dish but it wasn’t on the menu at the restaurant. Mimosas were also very sweet. The staff was very kind and the atmosphere was nice.
