What an absolute treat this place is. I highly advise paying for the full experience as everything Is amazing. The art exhibition is wonderful. The gardens and walkways are stunning and the exhibition in the villa took my, and many other peoples, breath away. That alone was worth the admission. You get to see a world famous banana! Well, sort of. I'm not going to post pictures of that exhibit as I don't want to spoil the impact. There are some fantastic sculptures throughout the gardens as well as a working farm and herb garden. The staff were friendly and helpful and the cafe was great for a quick snack and break. You could spend half a day in here at least making it great value for money. I am so pleased we visited, it really is not to be missed.

If you live in Porto, I'd recommend getting the Serralves Amigos Card. It's definitely worth it if you visit more than twice a year. I've been to Serralves numerous times and always discover something during each trip, whether I'm exploring the new exhibitions or simply strolling through the beautiful gardens. There are always interesting exhibitions - the current Maurizio Cattelan display is particularly compelling and thought-provoking.

A park encompassing the Modern Art Museum, this is a beautiful place to wander either before or after a trip to the museum or to solely focus on with a grounds-only ticket. The Art Deco villa and terraced garden is a standout, as is the pagoda / tennis court area (also has a cafe and toilets).

Absolutely loved it here 10/10 There is so much to see and do here. The galleries are outstanding; I was genuinely blown away by the art on display. The grounds are maintained spectacularly and around every single corner is something beautiful to admire. My only complaint is that I spent far longer here than I had planned ;) - there is just so much to take in. Highlight of my visit to Porto.

The amazing Art Deco house was the (pink) icing on the cake following our visit to the Museo of Contemporary Art, and the Cattelan exhibition was a complete surprise! We also really enjoyed wandering through the gardens and spotting the sculpures on the trail. However, the downside was that we couldn't access a large part of the gardens as they were closed for a private wedding 😐. Visitors were required to exit via one gate, and enter via a gate further down in order to visit the pink house. The tea shop was also closed, which meant that we had to exit Serralves completely in order to get some refreshments, as my husband had bought a ticket for the garden only and couldn't visit the art gallery cafes. We didn't feel that visitors were treated very well today, especially as we were still charged the full ticket price!

The foundation commissioned the museum, the surrounding gardens, and also transformed the Casa into an exhibition space. Be sure to check the museum’s website in advance for current exhibitions. Usually and because of the amazingly big space there are numerous temporary exhibitions. That way, you’ll know if you also want to visit the Casa ( Serralves House) and the Manoel de Oliveira Cinema House. During my visit, I saw a mind-blowing Gagosian-curated exhibition of Maurizio Cattelan in the Serralves Casa and it blew my mind. I was deeply impressed by the art, the surroundings, and the immense scale of this place dedicated to contemporary creativity. The park itself is magnificent, covering 18 hectares. Upon entering, you’ll receive a leaflet with suggested routes through the gardens, including detailed descriptions of each area. There’s even a unique opportunity to walk through the treetops on a suspended path—highly recommended. There are hidden corners, cozy benches, and an incredibly romantic atmosphere. I genuinely felt like I had stepped into a secret garden, full of beautiful little nooks everywhere. If you're visiting with a loved one, don't skip the park. It’s so beautiful, and the hidden spots are so enchanting, you might find yourselves feeling like teenagers again -sneaking kisses on benches under the bougainvillea canopies, near the sculptures and fountains. The tea house near the tennis court is also a hidden gem and they had a really good chocolate cake.

Right up there with Louisiana (Copenhagen), Dia Beacon (NY State) and The Getty (LA) in that it has stunning architecture, really well curated contemporary art and outdoor sculptures from world famous artists like Richard Serra, Olafur Eliasson and Anish Kapoor. The park is stunning, so be sure to buy the "access all" ticket. We went with two young children in the Spring and they loved the park, exploring the gardens, art deco mansion and the treetop walk. Really, really special place and the undoubted highlight of our time in Porto.

Lovely park with some interesting sculptures, but definitely pay the extra to visit the villa and museums so you can see the art exhibitions as these are the real highlight of a visit here
