This is a great brewery; they had an eclectic variety of beers and all the ones we tried were spot on. One of the rare breweries where both the beer and atmosphere are stellar. The friendly staff was welcoming and seemed like old friends that you haven't met yet. I could have spent the day here.

With more than 25 craft breweries all in northern Colorado and specifically Fort Collins, Funkwerks Hass to be at the top portion of the list. A small taproom brewery that goes perfectly with the small time feel of Fort Collins. In addition to the tap room with seats at the bar and a few tables. There is also a very large outdoor patio, as well as a small stage for live music in the spring and summer. The beer flows like the rivers of Capistrano with multiple types of beer and flavors. They always have a rotation of beers on tap and some unique bruise and flavors. My favorite combination is mixing the Tropic king and the pineapple sour. You won’t find this brewery along the beaten path in old town because it’s Tucktaway in a very convenient location right off of Highway 14 and on the outskirts of old town Fort Collins, Colorado. Whether you’re visiting or you live here this is a must stop brewery to pop in and have a beer or two. They also have decent parking and bike racks to lock up your bike. They also sell really cool hats, T-shirts, hoodies and more in Funkwerks Schwag.

Funkwerks has amazing beers. The Rhuberry Provincial is delish! Charlotte was awesome, welcoming and knowledgeable. Great atmosphere and conversation tonight. Good group of people.

Google
What a refreshing and spectacular environment to enjoy some of the most delicious beverages on the planet. Funkwerks Brewing is one of the greatest hidden attractions in Fort Collins Colorado. Just last week another sour of there's won a gold medal and I gave it a try... It was perhaps the best sour I've ever had. The atmosphere was uplifting and euphoric. I was surprised at how busy I got. It must not really be that much of a secret. If you're on the east side of town I highly recommend taking the time to head down to funkwerks and try on those delicious adult beverages for size. You'll be happy you did!

Jena Anderson

Google
Charlotte is the sweetest! This was my first time visiting Funkwerks and she was so welcoming and informative. I don’t drink beer very often so she let me taste a few she thought I’d like and I learned that there’s no added sugar! Great experience, I will be back!

Cam Chapman

Google
A very unique beer menu. They have a little something for everyone. Every beer we tried was amazing! They have a very nice outdoor patio area and the taproom has plenty of seating. The staff was amazing and offered great suggestions! I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the area! #Cheers

David Striker

Google
The beers were top notch. We sat outside and they had a live band playing. I liked the fact the band was not so loud you couldn't talk to the person sitting next to you. Rat Von Rat.

Google
Small brewery great beer. Loved the Saison, amber and dark lager. Kriek sour was also really good. Will definitely go back

Yelp
Funkwerks is a tiny hole in the wall, one that you need to know about. Great beer with even better staff. I was here a few weeks back for a private event, but I would guess that you wouldn't have anything other than a positive experience. I'll bet you a beer that you'll thoroughly enjoy yourself. Do it! #beer #drinklocal

Yelp
This was the perfect end to our day. A beautiful evening sitting by a tree outside enjoying some stellar brews. My husband is all about their sours and had to get the Cherry Kreik. He also enjoyed a taster of their strawberry rhubarb sour as well as a full pour of the Golden Strong. I am a dark beer gal all year. I had their English-style Stout. Delicious, malty, roasty goodness. We are fortunate to have reason to visit the area frequently so this will be a place we will come back to.

Yelp
You expect a brewery will be good when the employees of another nearby brewery recommend it. This is brewery #205 for me and it makes me wish I were a local so I could stop in regularly. The beertenders were awesome. I told them to set me up with the beers the brewery is most proud of and here is what they gave me: The Saison was frankly a picture perfect example of a saison. Fruity and a little funky on the nose with a consistent flavor. This is a winner. Raspberry Provincial is definitely sour, SWPFTD would not enjoy it, but I did. It's not overpowering but has a nice sourness throughout. I asked for a small taste of the Rhuberry Provincial for comparison, well, really just because. Honestly I liked this one better than the raspberry. Great fruit aroma and flavor with a nice sour flavor. Barrel-aged Deceit was simply freaking amazing. The aroma grabbed me by the ears and wouldn't let go, it was completely unnecessary because I know how to drink a beer but it still would let go. Aromas of vanilla, oak, bourbon, honey and the flavors did the aromas Justice. This was an excellent beer! Last for me (hey I'm only human allegedly) was the bourbon barrel quad. This was a very good beer. Honestly though I couldn't appreciate it properly as the Deceit completely overwhelmed me. I would have been very happy drinking this if I hadn't tried the Deceit. They had music on the patio so the tasting room was empty. At least until it poured rain and everyone ran inside to continue the party! If anyone is a glutton for punishment, please, follow my brewery, and distillery, reviews from across the U.S. and beyond! https://www.yelp.com/collection/-8iscFkpiiCI563-FDfwGg and if anyone is wondering who SWPFTD is you will have to check out my review of Black Market Brewing Co in Temecula, CA to understand. Yes, you will need to read into it a little to get the joke but I have confidence in you!

Yelp
Nice atmosphere and great beer. Saison and Helles are my favorites. The Saison is smooth with fruity, spicy, with hints of clove and pepper.

Yelp
One of my favorite outdoor spot in Fort Collins is the sun-soaked patio of Funkwerks brewery. With so many light, fruity, tropical beers to choose from, it's the perfect place to enjoy warm weather. I'm pleased to see an expanded snack menu to include cheese and crackers, trail mix, popcorn, chips, etc. for a reasonable price. Pretzels are still free! Along with some trail mix, I ordered the bier de lavande. It was delightfully fruity, slightly resembling a sour but not quite so tart. It was a nice refreshing end to a long bike ride. I'm happy to be entering back into patio season!

Hannah B.

Yelp
Best brewery in Fort Collins! Fun, intimate vibe with great beer options and an awesome staff. Rachael makes our day every visit. Highly recommend this little hidden gem!

Yelp
**Warning: Families aren't welcome at Funkwerks** Two other families and mine went to Funkwerks so the kids could enjoy watching their teacher play in his band. We quickly learned that Funkwerks is far from the quintessential Fort Collins family-friendly brewery environment! We couldn't find a place to sit outside, so we hunkered down in a corner of the indoor area where we could still hear the music. We had trouble fitting two of the kids, so they sat in a small table at the door within a few feet of us and within eyesight. Within about 1 minute someone came up and told us sternly that the kids need to be within one arms-reach of their parent. We were then 'invited' to go to their backroom where we couldn't see or hear the musicians (and so no one could see or hear us.) It was a nice backroom with a nice waitress, but it took the point out of the visit. In order to get food, we had to wander out to the food truck out front, but in doing that, we were scolded again, as our 8-12 year olds were once again outside of arms reach. When I say scolded, I mean that we were sternly talked to. It felt like an adult scolding a child. The stern talkings came not because the kids were out of control, but because they weren't within arms-reach (which is impossible in that crowded environment without bumping into other people). It was pretty out of character for a Fort Collins brewery to have such rude and non-family-friendly staff members. There are SO many great places to go in Fort Collins, but if you have a family, this isn't one of them. I'm giving two stars instead of one, because our server (pregnant and kind) did the very best she could to make our night as great as it could be!

Yelp
5 stars for this place after our visit this past weekend. We did the brewery tour (10$ with some schwag) and some post beers. It was a great experience, the tour guide was very knowledgeable, and got to taste some great beers along the way. Beers were unique, we loved the tropi-king, pineapple guava, the Arnie and the stout. The arnie was a personal favorite, only available there I think!. Good people.
google avatar

Amanda R.

Yelp
Great little brewery, nice outside area. We enjoyed several beers with a locally made dip and chips

M P.

Yelp
If you like sour beers, this is the place for you! A small, neighborhood feel to the brewery. Food trucks are frequently there. Nice that they have recommended flights as well.
google avatar

Juanita L.

Yelp
We loved this little brewery! I got a sour beer that was really good and my husband had a stout he loved! The service is amazing, they were very welcoming and attentive throughout our visit

Yelp
Great brewery that I had an opportunity to visit before heading home to Tampa Bay. A big shoutout to SHAWNA who made my experience memorable. She seated me in the spacious Barrel Room at a candle lit table under the Heater!!! I had the Raspberry Provincial along with two samplers she recommended. Make sure to make this a stop while in the Denver/ Fort Collins area!
google avatar

Ronee B.

Yelp
Loved FW! I'm a lover of sours and FW does not disappoint. They have many varieties and other great beers beyond the sour. Great location with a wonderful outdoor seating area. Very welcoming staff that just brought out a round of tasters to us of the saison to try. My dad from out of town absolutely loved it here. I will absolutely return!

Yelp
Awesome brewery in Fort Collins. I came in alone for a couple of beers and enjoyed myself at the bar. The beer tender was a gem as were the few locals sitting with me. Huge patio space and indoor seating as well. Large selection of different unique beer styles. I opted for a couple of the flagship sour beers. Both were very enjoyable. Great beer, great atmosphere, and great service- what else could you ask for?
google avatar

Yelp
This place was awesome. I had the funkwerks saison before and enjoyed it but I particularly liked the boutique flight. It was perfect for a summer day. We sat outside and their outdoor seating is nice - it's not a huge place. From the boutique flight I really liked the hella helles and from the funkwerks flight my favorite was the white. Not pictured was the $3 hummus snack and it was awesome to get a little snack without paying an arm and a leg. So many cool breweries in Fort Collins but this one is definitely a favorite!
google avatar

Yelp
I love sours, and Funkwerks excels at sours. They have fantastic sour tastings - so I got one that included Pineapple, soursop, raspberry, and blueberry provincials And then kreik a perfect barre age sour wit. Drinking a nice red sour always reminds me of Game of Thrones (though they talk sour red wine). This was my favorite . . . It is a small place with a small (on a road) patio . . and a small indoor. From small places can come great beers. It pairs well with O'dells which is just down the road (which is the biggest "craft" brewery i've been to. . or at least on par to Avery's large brewing space)
google avatar

Christy J.

Yelp
LOVE THIS PLACE! This is the 2nd time I was here. First time was 5 years ago to the exact day I visited (that was not on purose). The beers are wonderful. The atmosphere has a wonderful vibe. My one issue was the way to the restroom is not very wheelchair friendly. Yes it is wheelchair accessible but not friendly.
google avatar

Heather R.

Yelp
Funkwerks is a bit "out there" in terms of location, but worth checking out (especially if you like unique flavors and sours). I'm personally not a fan of sours, but the lighter beers are pretty tasty too! They have a nice outdoors area with big picnic tables and cute lighting.
google avatar

Whitney S.

Yelp
Love the simplicity of this brewery! My husband and I loved the relaxed, easy going vibe! Great beer and snack choices.
google avatar

Andy F.

Yelp
Small intimate brewery that makes some pretty great beers. Cater to both e hipsters and the purists. Beers are reasonable priced. Downfalls-When it's busy, it's crowded inside but a great patio. No WiFi. Benefits- Amazing Staff. The truly know their beers. And if you tell them what your norm is, they'll know exactly what to serve you. Dogs are not only welcomed, they are encouraged. No kitchen. But if you're hungry, they have a good choice of generous snacks for you. Cheers Funkwerks!!! A must see. Updated: they have WiFi. I am obviously wrong and have since been educated.
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
What a great brewery in FoCo! I've had a lot of their beers, but never visited. I would recommend it as a stop. They offer quite a selection of boutique beers that are not distributed. The staff is friendly and offer information/suggestions. Sour is their game so be ready to pucker. However, a number of beers use the provincial base and they are quite mild.
google avatar

Alex P.

Yelp
I've had Funkwerks beers bought at stores on occasion and was always impressed. I had a chance to visit the brewery while in Ft Collins and I have to say it blew away any expectations I had. They have several options that aren't available at stores all of which were absolutely fantastic. Their back patio space is nice and shady. Would highly recommend!
google avatar

Taylor M.

Yelp
This is a great brewery! Definitely a great stop on the Fort Collins brewery trail. Their beer is really good and they have a quaint little spot! Right in the brewery district near downtown. Funkwerks definitely has some of the best sours in town. Family friendly, possibly dog friendly, fun little events, and funky decor!
google avatar

Liz M.

Yelp
Finally came here for the first time, we sat outside because it's so nice out today. Got 2 flights of beer. The Boutique Flight and the Sour Snack pack Flight. We enjoyed both very much, the inside is really great (plants everywhere, which we love). Lots of vibrant decorations and overall a really great atmostphere. We can't wait to come back for more

Yelp
Love Funkwerks!! They specialize in saisons and sours. I'm obsessed with this place. Tried 9 or so different beers here (between 2 visits) and can honestly say I was happy with them all. Standouts for me were the Oud Bruin and Boysenberry Provincial. The Raspberry Provincial is their best seller. The "beertenders" are extremely friendly and pleasant. They are eager to make suggestions and give you samples before committing to a glass. The taproom/patio is on the smaller side and somehow seems really cool and filled with character. I just want to hang here all the time. It doesn't seem to get too crowded either. The tour they offer is also smaller/more intimate, yet still pretty informative. Another thing I love about this brewery (which I don't see often) is that you can order a full glass OR a half! The half definitely came in handy because alas I do not live in Colorado and alcohol gets to me quickly in the high elevation. Definitely definitely check out Funkwerks!!

H.A.11 M.

Yelp
Beer is so unique and delicious!! From saison to sour. It's all soooo good. Servers were nice and informative. I like when people actually know about the beer they are serving! The patio is fun also. I only wish they had more to go options because it's that good!

Tom C.

Yelp
Great Saisons and Sours. This little brewery punches way above it's weight. Friendly crowd and exceptional staff. Amy is one of the nicest and most helpful bartenders I have met in a long time. A must stop in Fort Fun.
google avatar

Marc B.

Yelp
If you like Saisons, barrel aged, and sour/funky beers this is your first stop. Staff is knowledgeable and super friendly. Location is in the middle of an industrial part of town but do not dissuaded. It is worth the trip, even if you are from out of the area.
google avatar

Todd L.

Yelp
Great local brewery. Very friendly staff with seating inside and outside. The brewery seemed to focus on Belgium and Saison style beers. Your can find about 20 beers on tap for your enjoyment. If you are looking for a locals local joint, this is it. Cheers Always!
google avatar

Lauren G.

Yelp
The poor customer service was a definite turn off on my second visit to Funkwerks. The beertender was snotty and not the least bit helpful. I recall having a similar experience the first time I was here. The atmosphere is also nothing to write home about and the beers are pricey. However, I do love sours and they have some quality ones on their tap list. If you like saisons, you may also want to pop in and give them a try. But there are lots of breweries in this town and this one should really step up their game if they want repeat customers!

Amanda C.

Yelp
Went to Funkwerks for the first time today. Staff very friendly and welcoming. decor and atmosphere are a vibe. Beer is tasty and definitely will be going back. 10/10 will be taking my friends here.
google avatar

Andy W.

Yelp
Enjoyed a flight at Funkwerks. Beer was refreshing and atmosphere was nice and relaxed. Lauren the bartender did a great job! I'd recommend this stop if you're traveling through Fort Collins!

Robert N.

Yelp
Some of the best beers and ales that I've ever tasted in our travels. Wonderful owners and staff. Absolutely never miss stopping here whenever we're in Fort Collins.
google avatar

David K.

Yelp
Went here on a Saturday afternoon. Got here right when they opened because we had our dog and wanted to find a decent seat for him. The patio was awesome. Lots of trees and covering from the sun. Bartender was very friendly. Had a flight a beer. Very good. Then had the raspberry and pineapple provincial. They were delicious! Small area inside. Will be back! Cheers!

Yelp
Solid spot to grab a beer and hang. Pros -Dog friendly (both inside and outside) -Great selection of beers (Wilds, Saisons, Fruited, Belgians etc.) My favorites were Pat & Gordon's adventure and Level 13 - all of the fruited beers were great as well. -Good selection of pre-determined flights with the option to create your own -Spot to park and lock your bike outside and plenty of parking for cars Solid selection of to go beer and a lot of other merch to browse Cons -No food on-site but they do have some snacks to purchase (chips, pretzels, cheese and crackers etc. -Lots of patio seating but limited seating inside the brewery itself -Overall, I just felt that Funkwerks needed more space. They were super efficient with the layout of the taproom, but everything just seemed a bit crammed. Funkwerks is a solid spot to grab a beer and hangout - whether you liked "sours" or not, this is a great spot to spend an afternoon and I would recommend a visit.
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
Good dog-friendly tasting room. Nice selection of pre-formulated flights and single beers. Nice bowl of water for the Labrador and a good selection of beer for the so-called humans. The room is intimate and friendly with plenty of parking in the lot. Stop by and give it a try.

Samuel K.

Yelp
This place had my favorite beers I tried in Denver. It was all interesting and good. Fun atmosphere.

Yelp
Tasty super Tasty 4 spring summer fall. Raspberry Sour sooo delicious . TropicKing Appreciate the saisons aswell. Staff is friendly & attentive . The say "no" with a smile TJ dog fav people place in FC. I dig its off beatn path. Yet good bike ride away. And i pretty much chat it up with others...somethn 'bout crowd i like.
google avatar

Jenn F.

Yelp
The service was mm-kay but mostly bland as eff. She never actually spoke to us so that was weird and awkward...she just threw some disposable gloves on and dumped the food on our table. The jerky was bizarrely served in the original bag but in a bowl as if to imply it was beautifully presented. Worst Ft Collins experience of the day. Go elsewhere because they are BORED with you as soon as you walk in the door.
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
I was new to sours and a friend's band playing a June gig in that outdoor area made the introduction. No lie, it was one of the most chill nights of that whole year. Off the path of the big ones, but just as good.
google avatar

Rachel G.

Yelp
Belgian style saisons are amazing!! The tours are cute, short, personal and to the point. And we got a tasting on the tour! What this crew is doing is amazingg! They've got local bands in the backyard during the summer, as well as giant yahoo!!
google avatar

Yelp
What. An. Awesome. Brewery. And I didn't even take the tour. Fort Collins is one of my #1 favorite cities, so with this relaxation trip, I wanted to fit more Breweries in. After doing some research, I decided to make Funkwerks the first brewery I stopped in at while in town. And I did. And I was not disappointed. And I will always be returning here. Funkwerks has a very adorable location. It's fairly small brewery and taproom wise, but it has such a nice feel to it. I walked in the door ([han] solo) and was immediately greeted and asked if I had been in before. She gave me the quick run down, asked If I was interested in a certain beer or a flight (how could you not do a flight here?!) so I started with the latter. After quick perusal of the menu, I went with the "Funkwerks Flight" (5 tasters of 4oz for $9). If you stop in, definitely go for a flight. It'll give you a nice selection of many beers for a reasonable price - AND these are not low % beers. You'll feel something as you consume them....especially when you're use to those pesky Utah beers. I took my flight of 5 gorgeously colored (and gorgeously tasting) beers outside to enjoy a little sunshine - and also because the tap room was buzzaayy when I came in around 430pm on a Monday. I really enjoyed all five beer selections within the Funkwerks Flight (Nelson Sauvin, Saison, Tropic King, Apricot Provincial & Raspberry Provincial) the Raspberry and Nelson Sauvin probably being my faves. Please! Try this flight! So amazing. I'll need to return to try their special selection flight... Once my flight was gone, I realized that I really needed to try the Elder Wit [I have a mild obsession with Elderflower]. I enjoyed it, but singly-unanimously decided that the 5 selections that came with the flight were the better - with more flavor and depth. For all my future visits to FoCo, a stop in at Funkwerks will be necessary. The patrons and employees were so awesome here, and the beers were top notch. It may be hard to top this cute little brewery anytime soon. Thanks for a great few hours, FW!
google avatar

Erica G.

Yelp
Awesome beer flights offered in a friendly, relaxed environment. I had the Sauvin Reserve, and it was like white wine with a kick - awesome! Reasonable prices too.

Scott M.

Yelp
This small little brew pub was awesome. Allie, our server is really what put it over the top. She was absolutely amazing. So kind, with great recommendations. We had driven 500+ miles and stopped at this brewery and it absolutely just made our trip!
google avatar

Nathaniel N.

Yelp
Love this place, laid back and not to crowded. Awesome patio area and music and the beers are amazing, the pineapple/guava sour is the best I've ever had. They have a great beer menu and variety. Will definitely come back when I'm in Fort Collins.
google avatar

Andrew B.

Yelp
Nice folks and nice patio. They do get adventurous in their beer selections, so ask before ordering if you are unsure. Good swag shop too. The shirts are super soft.
google avatar

Damian B.

Yelp
Came in tonight about 7:15 to grab some beers to take back to my hotel room. I had the most wonderful experience. I hate going into a place right before they close, but tonight i was felt welcomed and the Young lady who helped me was super awesome, helpful and friendly. If i lived in town, i would be a regular.

G L.

Yelp
Had the BARREL BOUTIQUE FLIGHT. Level 13 is a bit sweet, but the rest were great. Oud Bruin was my favorite of the flight. I had another pour of the barel-aged tropic king to finish off the plate of tortilla chips and cream cheese salsa. Great place, will be back many times!
google avatar

Julie B.

Yelp
I am a beer snob. I thought all the beer here was unique and good. I was also starving and the cheese and crackers hit the spot. I wish more food was available but that is the norm with Colorado breweries, I am sure because of some alcohol law. I have been to Colorado quite a few times and visited dozens of breweries and this one is in my top 5. Wish I lived close but it is probably for the best.
