Oh, Funkwerks, I'm so excited that your tasting room is open!
I first came across these guys at GABF last fall (thanks, Alex G), and I think I stopped by their table three times for samples because they were just that good. Elegantly bottled and so tasty! I sort of kept my eye on them after that, and was super excited to see the taproom open in February. I can confidently say, it's totally worth the drive from Denver.
The tasting room boasts a nice long bar, about 6-7 tables, and according to our servers, when the weather gets nicer you'll be able to enjoy your brew on the patio.
Delicious Belgian beers here. Choose from Casper, White, Saison, Maori King and Belgian Resistance. White is my favorite - a little more fruity and sweet, and the Casper is light and super drinkable. I don't know much about Belgian beers, but I do know the last three varieties tasted very similar but got stronger in ABV as you went through the tasting.
A flight is $7.50, and totally worth it to try all the varieties. Full glass is $4, half glass is $3, and you can even get some Nita crisp crackers and locally-made cheeses if you're feeling snacky. (I recommend the truffle cheese. Yum.) Stock up on the merch if you're so inclined - there's a modest supply of f t's, sweatshirts and stuff to choose from. Great local art inside, too, and I was really tempted to take home a painting.
One note: it can get crowded here, so be patient. There were only 2 servers when I stopped in Saturday afternoon to a packed house, and somehow they managed to keep everyone happy.
I'm looking forward to many more visits to this NKOTB in the Fort Collins brew scene!
