Funky Sol Coffee

We travel in our Camper Van in the Winter, and we are always on the search for a good coffee shop when we get into a town or city. Funky Sol has it all! Parking, seating, great coffee, excellent Chai, good food, shade, cool vintage airstream and to top it off they are right next to Austin Beer Company brewing. The owner Gavin is really nice and knowledgeable. We had to come back before heading out of town.

Really cool new spot on South Lamar. Owner's name is Gavin. You could tell this is a passion of his to bring a great food and beverage experience to Austin. This morning I had a nice coffee and egg bites. Both were absolutely delicious. I also really like the hangout zone in front of the Airstream. They've got shade, plenty of places to sit, nice music, so it's a cool place to come and hang out.

Awesome coffee shop with a great mix of original and classic drink options. Wonderful recommendations from the owner and staff. Flavor profile is immaculate. The vibes are very high, positive, friendly and welcoming. Easily my favorite spot for coffee and matcha.

service impeccable <3 will be back. the vibe is super mellow and relaxed, the pickle ball courts on the property are also cute and worth checking out. Giving 3 stars because the matcha and coffee are not that great. The matcha was not very flavorful.

The owner is awesome and greeted us with a smile and provided some great recommendations on speciality coffee drinks. Found this little gem thanks to my Austin local buddies. They have a cute gift shop area too. If you want tasty and unique coffee this is the place to checkout.

Amazing! Fantastic customer service. We tried the cold brew sample and ordered our Americano and latte. It was perfect. Definitely will be back. Love a good local coffee spot.

Love trying new coffee spots on Sundays and this one was Amazing! Tried “The Dude”, a chocolate infused cold brew topped with macadamia nut cold foam and pink sea salt. Perfect balance of sweet/boldness. One of the best drinks I’ve had in a while, will be back!

The best coffee truck experience I've ever had in Austin. They have a fun and unique selection. But I measure a coffee spot by the espresso they pull, and this place pulled a perfect shot. We also had their matcha special (The Green Machine, I think), and it was delicious. Wife had a drip, which she approved of. The food is on point too. Had egg bites and their Walnut Banana Bread, which came with a side of cinnamon butter. 🤌

I rode my bike to Funky Sol Coffee on a hot September morning, which because my tires had run out of air was not easy. The outdoor coffee bar is run out of a refurbished, authentic, 70s Airstream, parked in back of a lot along Lamar Blvd. I ordered The Dude which was delicious and I admit a bit weird (I guess like Austin itself). It's a chocolate infused nitro cold brew topped with macadamia nut foam and pink sea salt. I have never seen this combination of ingredients in a coffee drink, but I tell you, It was so good. I don't typically like overly iced drinks but the ice was shaved into little pebbles which gave it a great ice cold consistently without watering it down. I also got the egg bites which filled me up just enough to get going for the day.

Cute tucked away spot with good coffee! Got the dude, the green machine and a dirty chai. All 10/10. Would go again :)

"The Dude" coffee drink may be one of the best specialty coffee drinks I've ever had, highly recommend! Also tried the bacon breakfast burrito, it was very nice. Chill music, great vide, and best service I've seen out of a coffee shop in Austin!

Love love love this coffee + vibes + owner! Austin TX got a gem of a business and definitely would try out "the DUDE" if that's still on the menu! 10/10 would recommend to anyone local and say hi to the owner, he's super friendly!
