"Italians don’t really eat pizza for lunch, which means pizzerias tend to be open only for dinner. Fúnnaco PizzaLab, located in La Loggia, follows suit. Here, you’ll find all kinds of pizza styles, from Roman to Neapolitan and everything in between, plus pan pies called pizza al padellino. It’s always packed, so reserve a table and enjoy a casual night in the heart of Palermo’s city center, just behind the Piazza di San Domenico and the Vucciria Market. The pizza was phenomenal. We sat inside near the pizza maker and the atmosphere was very authentic. Pizzas are very big so keep in mind that two people can eat one. We barely finished ours even though they were delicious. Very fresh ingredients.

A hyped pizzeria around the corner. The vibe was great. Many many people come in or take away at dinner time. Tried the Napoli pizza - it was too salty for me the anchovies. But the dough was great! Note that if you want to sit in, then you need to pay extra fee for the table.

Funnaco in Palermo is a gem! The pizza is delicious, with a perfect balance of flavors and a crispy crust. What really sets it apart, though, is the fantastic staff. They’re friendly, attentive, and make you feel right at home. Highly recommend for a great meal and excellent service!

The food was simple amazing, there is no other restaurant in Palermo so good us this one. Pizza was amazing and fresh, and tiramusi is really recommended. One of the few places in Palermo you can really post on Instagram thins it's beautiful. Also, Mateo, our waiter, was great at attending us. 100% recommended

It's a tradition of mine to visit the pizzerias that are part of the top 50 pizza when I travel, and this was one of my favourites! I absolutely loved the menu. You can choose the dough for the pizza - classic, napoletano, Sicilian kamut, multigrain and gluten free. We arrived before opening and got a table outside but I recommend booking. I loved the pizzas. I particularly liked the Sicilian kamut dough, made with ancient Sicilian indigenous stone milled whole wheat flour. You really need to go!

Excellent service and solid pizzas. We opted to sit inside as it was muggy and hot (and the alley al fresco dining didn't seem appealing to us). What makes Funnaco Pizzalab different? They have dough options aside from the classico (1-2euros for these alternatives) include: napoletano, Sicilian ancient grains/whole wheat, and gluten free. We tried napoletano and the whole wheat, but honestly think we would have preferred to stick with classico so that's on us! Other lessons learned: 1. If intrigued by the bruschette trio -- just skip that set of carbs and go to the pizza! Bread was good but you're not missing out on anything here topping wise. 2. Though there are a lot of unique choices for toppings, just go for it! Don't be like me and get daunted / rushed into sticking with the usual margherita (bc its a pass) On your way out as you pay, you will definitely be offered candy... And maybe a limoncello shot ;) 3.5 stars

This place was fun. They have interesting pizzas and are very creative. If you don't like pizza, don't go there. The toppings were both the usual and very different. Service was prompt and quick. It was a casual restaurant.
