"Italians don’t really eat pizza for lunch, which means pizzerias tend to be open only for dinner. Fúnnaco PizzaLab, located in La Loggia, follows suit. Here, you’ll find all kinds of pizza styles, from Roman to Neapolitan and everything in between, plus pan pies called pizza al padellino. It’s always packed, so reserve a table and enjoy a casual night in the heart of Palermo’s city center, just behind the Piazza di San Domenico and the Vucciria Market. It’s big, with roughly 100 seats inside and outdoor tables on the quiet side alley in the summertime." - linda sarris

This place is amazing! We booked a table for opening time, and when we arrived there were already a number of people waiting for the doors to open. There is a large selection of classic and innovative pizza choices available, making it difficult to choose! The food was incredible, and the service was perfect. If you like pizza you absolutely have to visit!

We had dinner at Fúnnaco PizzaLab and absolutely loved it. From starter to dessert, everything was delicious — and their pizzas are simply unbeatable. The staff is friendly, attentive, and highly professional. This is without a doubt one of the best pizzerias in Palermo, if not the best. A true gem! Be sure to book in advance, as people are already lining up at opening time. There’s also outdoor seating available in a charming and quiet Palermo side street. Highly recommended!

This Pizza restaurant was absolutely amazing! We were only 4 days in Palermo and twice here. Pizzas are fantastic and innovative, service is really good (thank you for the nice evening, Yasmin! ☺️) and prices are reasonable. Be aware, that you should reserve, otherwise you might habe to wait for a while. Highly recommended!

We had a fantastic dinner at Fùnnaco PizzaLab in Palermo. As starters, we tried the Montanarine and the Bruschette—both were absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The highlight, though, was the Fùnnaco pizza: unique, bold, and unlike anything we’ve had before. On top of that, the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, which made the experience even more enjoyable. A perfect spot if you're looking for inventive twists on classic Italian dishes!

I visited for dinner with my husband in June 2025 and had a wonderful experience. Food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. I am a coeliac and found they were easily able to accommodate and understood my requirement for strictly gluten-free food. We dined in the seating in the alley next to the restaurant, and it was very pleasant. I had the 4 Tumazzi pizza on gluten free, and a GF beer. We shared the parfait al pistacchio for dessert. These were all great. We were provided complimentary limoncello after dinner. I would recommend this place to my friends and family.

This pizza was amazing!!! We had the bruschette with yellow tomatoes and it was really good, it had lots of flavour and hair the right amount of olive oil. Then there was the pizza, which was even better. The crust was perfect, the base of the pizza wasn't too thin it was just the right amount of thickness so that it wouldn't fall apart. if I ever come to Palermo again I'm 100% coming back.

A pizza restaurant not to be missed. The best pizza I’ve had for a long time. Wine very reasonably priced and service unbeatable. They are laser focused on giving you a 10/10 experience.

We reserved a table ahead of time and we were glad we did. The restaurant filled up quickly with a lively crowd. After careful consideration of the menu we went for two different salads and two different pizzas (classic crust on both, though). Both salads were super fresh and really tasty especially with the premium olive oil on them. As thousands have already written, the pizzas were yummy. Hats off to those who made it happen. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Excellent service and solid pizzas. We opted to sit inside as it was muggy and hot (and the alley al fresco dining didn't seem appealing to us). What makes Funnaco Pizzalab different? They have dough options aside from the classico (1-2euros for these alternatives) include: napoletano, Sicilian ancient grains/whole wheat, and gluten free. We tried napoletano and the whole wheat, but honestly think we would have preferred to stick with classico so that's on us! Other lessons learned: 1. If intrigued by the bruschette trio -- just skip that set of carbs and go to the pizza! Bread was good but you're not missing out on anything here topping wise. 2. Though there are a lot of unique choices for toppings, just go for it! Don't be like me and get daunted / rushed into sticking with the usual margherita (bc its a pass) On your way out as you pay, you will definitely be offered candy... And maybe a limoncello shot ;) 3.5 stars

Yelp
This place was fun. They have interesting pizzas and are very creative. If you don't like pizza, don't go there. The toppings were both the usual and very different. Service was prompt and quick. It was a casual restaurant.
