Friendship BBQ and Grill Master Will Open in Manhattan’s Chinatown and Brooklyn This Year | Eater NY

"I learned that Friendship BBQ, arriving in Manhattan’s Chinatown at 103 Bowery between Hester and Grand streets in June, specializes in Chinese skewers—chuan’er (串儿)—bringing the street-food tradition of seasoned meats, vegetables, and offals typically eaten with beer; the menu appeals to Chinese nationals and expats with both familiar ingredients and delicacies like chicken necks and Chinese chives. Part of Lei Chen’s restaurant group that started in Flushing, the new space will seat 70 to 80 customers to help cut hour-long lines and will be open daily from 1 p.m. to 3 a.m." - Shen Lu

Google
Great value and the ingredients all tasted good in my soup. From the broth, down to the sweet taste of Napa cabbage, and the lotus roots. And so many skewers that came with it. They even have vegetarian skewer options. The short rib skewers were a little on the tough side. And the mild was a bit more spicy than mild, especially from the peppercorns. They were nice to accommodate us sitting in a less lighted table. Grateful.

I travel all over the USA to get skewers and I can tell you this is the best place in New York City. You should definitely try this squid.

I went here for the first time and really enjoyed the skewer & hotpot combination! Their menu has a variety of skewers and things to order for hotpot. My only gripe was that some food items for the hotpot we ordered never arrived, but as most AYCE hotpot places do, they don't bring you everything you ask for to mitigate the chance of waste. It's a bit annoying, but also understandable.

The food was just okay. Portion was big for the mala tang. The skewers were pretty decent size but some even felt a bit cold when arriving. Service was fine, nothing special. The intestine skewer didn't taste clean at all. I will say everything lacked seasoning from the mala tang and skewers. The spice mix was super basic, mostly cumin and some chili powder, and didn't bring out the flavors like other skewer spots I've been to. Didn't even finish our skewers. We went down a few blocks after to get skewers from the street cart. Better flavor, more meat, and juicer. Would not return for skewers at this location.

Don't be intimidated by the buffet price of $45.99—they offer a wide variety of options. We went in to check it out but weren’t in the mood for the buffet because we had plan for the evening. They also offer other dishes at much lower prices. It turned out the portions were very generous, and we were satisfied with our light brunch. I'm glad I found authentic Chuan cuisine in Manhattan's Chinatown. I will definitely try the buffet one day.

Google
Tried Funny BBQ 98 and honestly didn’t think the AYCE skewers were worth the $41.99. The menu posted outside was outdated, and when the food actually came out, the skewers were pretty small and not hot, some even felt a bit cold. They really tried to upsell us on the AYCE skewers and hot pot combo, but we weren’t interested in that. They did have an all-you-can-drink option too, but of course, alcohol cost extra. Service was okay, nothing special. They brought the food and cleared the table. I will say I enjoyed the pig intestines and pork feet, those had good texture and flavor. But aside from that, everything else lacked seasoning and didn’t taste freshly cooked. The spice mix was super basic, mostly cumin and some chili powder, and didn’t bring out the flavors like other skewer spots I’ve been to. Compared to places in Flushing or even the skewer carts on Grand St, this one didn’t hit the mark. Not really worth the price, and I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back.

Google
This place is such a fun dining experience great to go with friends or on a date. It’s super interactive. You have hot pot unlimited barbecue. All you can eat for an unbeatable price. everyone is so friendly and the atmosphere is so fun so easy to make friends. I tried things. I’ve never tried before in my life like pig brain. and you can do karaoke downstairs I’m totally obsessed with this place. It’s a must stop in New York City.

Google
This was a minutes walk from the hotel and we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient. We had all you can eat BBQ. The food came out quickly, was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. A lot of variety, $86 total for the two us out the door. Very satisfied.

Yelp
One of my go-to spots for lunch takeout. The only thing I get is the dry hotpot ($11.92 cash) and it comes with a side of rice and pre-cut slices of orange. Idk any other restaurant that gives you fruit for takeout, but I think it's a nice addition! For the dry hotpot, you can choose your protein and the level of spiciness. I usually only get one protein (either fish fillet or beef) and they give a decent amount of meat, and I get non-spicy. Even though I get non-spicy, it's still pretty flavorful. It can be a bit oily sometimes though. I love the variety of vegetables and other toppings that they add. I tried to show all of them in my picture, but here's a list of what was in it: - Fish, cauliflower, Chinese cabbage, bok choy, bean sprouts, lotus root, seaweed knots, wood ear mushroom, fish tofu, tofu skin, tofu puffs, spam, rice cakes, ginger & scallion. There's cilantro placed right on top as well. And there's one other thing in there, but I'm not sure what it is... maybe thinly sliced white radish? I thought there's usually a quail egg in there too, but I didn't get it this time. Maybe they forgot or maybe they've removed it from the dish entirely. But in any case, it's A LOT of food. PRO TIP: Get a stamp card! Buy 9 dry hotpot/Malatang, get the 10th one free!

Yelp
My friends and I went here for a birthday celebration and it was better than I expected. The menu comes in different AYCE options such as hot pot skewers or bbq skewers. We opted for the AYCE bbq skewers. Not only was everything seasoned but they have extra seasoning on the side if you want to add more. The soft drink and soda were unlimited for $2. Be careful walking around because the floor was a little slippery, might be from oil accidentally fell on the floor from all the skewers. Also if it's your birthday they give you a certain % off. Yelp
Food (2/5): The food was definitely subpar here. The meat quality was low after it finally came over an hour later. Also the sauce options was minimal and while the other ingredients were decent nothing tasted particularly great. Service (2/5): Main issue was that they barely checked up on us and the sliced beef took an insanely long time to come. We waited over an hour and by the time it came we were already full on vegetables, tofu and the meatballs which are the cheap ingredients. When it finally came the beef was also super fatty with little meat parts. The lamb was also very chewy. Not sure if delaying the beef and lamb was a cost saving policy. Ambiance (3/5): The place is not the cleanest or most modern but one plus is that the private rooms have karaoke with decent selection of songs. Issue was that our room's power kept randomly turning off including the hotpot machine. The karaoke machine also needed to download songs which took a while and when power turned off it reset. Place could use a renovation.

Yelp
I went here for the first time for their all you can eat hotpot and skewers. It was a pretty good dining experience overall in terms of the taste of the food. We got a good amount of meat skewers and hotpot ingredients. The service was okay. I think it might have been a busy Saturday night when we went. In addition to skewers and hotpot, they have ice cream for dessert and an assortment of drinks. They even have a space for karaoke that is out in the open. The basement space that we sat has a lot of Hello Kitty items on the walls.

Yelp
This place has a great deal for all you can eat skewers. The deal not only includes a long list of skewers to choose from, but also an entire case of drinks in the back you can choose multiple from and a modest appetizer bar. The skewers were pretty decent, definitely not the best I've ever had, but especially great for the price. I also liked that there was such a large variety to choose from. I would definitely come back here whenever I have a skewer craving.

Yelp
Love visiting this spot with my friends because they have a spacious interior and delicious mala soup noodles. Everything is also really worth it, and we love getting the skewers combo. The tomato beef mala soup with clear noodles are packed with flavor and so many other ingredients. The beef skewers usually always tastes great but this day we visited the beef tasted extra beefy. However, everything was super good and the service and music here is amazing!

Yelp
My group of friends and I came at 7pm to eat the AYCE hotpot. We reserved a private room downstairs and there's ktv in there. The room isn't fancy at all but at least it works with my group of friends. Once we placed an order, we got everything expect all the red meat we ordered. Another thing I did not like was that their power isn't strong or didn't work well. We had two hot pot running. The electric hot pot that I was using didn't work well. First the outlet didn't work and I had to switch it. Afterwards, multiple times our hot pot shut off. The worst was when everything shut off (except the lights). The hot pots were off and tv. All my friends were singing and have songs on the waitlist. Everything had to restart and it killed the vibe. We did not enjoy that experience. The food was alright. The nice thing was that they had free drinks but not the beer. I love to eat beef for hot pot but it never came until we asked for more than 5 times. They kept saying it's coming but it didn't until the very end. And when the meat came, we were all pretty full. Not only that, the meat quality was that good. Definitely not worth the wait time. It was way too fat and some were chewy. I personally did not have a good experience and I probably won't come back.

Yelp
My favorite skewers usually come from a cart in Flushing... I am so happy I no longer have to go out of my way to Queens just to get my skewer fix when I visit the city. Very spacious seating and no wait when we went in on a Sat night. Very attentive waiters and happy to explain things to you. We ordered the 20 skewer combo that was $30 and a side of their cold tripe salad (~$12-13). The skewers were perfectly seasoned and you could sprinkle more cumin/chili powder that is on the side. I like the containers they give you for your used skewers. The two of us were pretty full after this (disclaimer, we did snack all day). We did notice there were AYCE options for the hot pot or skewers. Although nothing can beat eating skewers straight off the carts, this place satisfies the craving perfectly. The menu was quite large, so will definitely be coming back to try out more!

Yelp
My friend came here a few times, and wanted to introduce me to Funny BBQ. She normally orders the 20-skewer combo ($30) when she comes in a party of 2, but I wanted to try the limited time combo menu. I ordered the Mala Tang Combo with fish filet and rice noodle, mild spice ($18.99). The combo includes 10BBQ skewers, a drink, and white rice. For skewers, I chose lamb, beef, beef tendon, shrimp, squid, and QQ sausage, with mild spice. I liked everything other than the squid because i felt that it was a little tough. I probably could have gone with medium spice for the mala. The bowl was filled with a good portion of ingredients. They did not skimp on me! It was good. The restaurant is spacious with a bathroom. Be careful when sitting on the bench because there might be some oil/food on it from the previous party. I would definitely come again if I were in the area and were craving skewers! maybe even try their hotpot and other items.

Yelp
While a bit on the pricier side, this was one of my favorite meals during this New York visit. And so much is actually included with the meal. They have a whole pot of crawfish, chicken, and oranges on the side that you're free to help yourself to. As well as a drink fridge (alcoholic drinks not included) where you can just load up on whatever you want, whenever you want. This was especially nice since you didn't have to wait for the waiters every time you wanted a drink. And they have a little ice cream fridge that you can help yourself to too. You order food through checking off what you want on a piece of paper. And they bring it all out pretty quickly. I love that most things come out on a skewer so you can just stick it in the pot and take it out easily whenever it's ready. And I love that they provide a bin for all your used skewers to go so you don't just have a bunch of loose sticks around your table. There are so many choices, and unique ones at that, and the quality is pretty good! And even more points for providing aprons and storing our bags for us so that they were out of the way and didn't have to smell like hotpot.
google avatar

Yoojin L.

Yelp
We ordered the all you can eat $48 option with skewers dry pot and hotpot. Food came out really fast and everything was amazing to say the least. Oysters were very fresh and did not have fishy smell to it. Oh and it also comes with a whole spicy boiled fish which we didn't know it was even included. Drinks and ice cream were grab as much as you want which was a great bonus!
google avatar

Mary L.

Yelp
The food is good. I tried the skewers AYCE only. I really liked the short ribs, but some of the foods I couldn't tell what was on the skewer. Overall it was a good place if you want AYCE skewers.
google avatar

Sally l.

Yelp
Updated review- visited the place again and they're now doing the AYCE drink, alcohol is not included but is in the fridge, so inquire before you take! Since my last visit, management and friendliness of staff has definitely changed. They're more attentive and quick with service. This time around, there were no missed food or incorrect food for us. They also had salmon, artic clam and abalone that was complimentary... I thought it'd be sashimi style but it was marinated in their house made sauce; wasn't bad but something different. We got here around 6ish and were seared quickly, afterwards, the place was full of patrons; EDM playing in the background, patrons speaking loudly, great vibes , great food.

Yelp
This was my second visit to this restaurant and we ordered the BBQ skewers, hot pot and grilled fish buffet which also included drinks and appetizers. The buffet format made for an enjoyable meal and my friends and I all thought it tasted good. The staff's service was also excellent, very diligent in replacing plates and tidying up trash. Located on a busy street in Chinatown, it was very easy to find. $50/person (all expenses included)
google avatar

Cindy Y.

Yelp
Went there with group of 7 and stroller they accommodated at table. No wait for lunch, service was attentive and they explained the menu items. Kids price depended on height. The food came quickly and tasted very good. They had different flavors options for bbq skewers and hotpot. Unlimited drinks with the buffet. The beer was bogo $3. Bottles. It was about average noise level. They also have A la carte for smaller appetites.
google avatar

Jenna Z.

Yelp
My go to AYCE spot for hot pot. They include a lot of stuff like free drink, free dessert, free small appetizers (crawfish + other small things). I think they have every option that most hot pot places. They also have skewers and the last time I went they gave me and my friend free sashimi skewers. They also play really good music haha I think the AYCE option for dinner is 35.99 and with tax and tip it ends up being ~$40-45 which feels a bit pricy but you get a lot. No complaints other than that and I will probably keep coming back and would recommend to a friend.

Yelp
This BBQ place has excellent skewers and the first AYCE skewer BBQ place I've ever been to. From start to finish it felt like a journey inside a theme park of chinese BBQ food. I really wish the concept was more common in places like the Bay Area and LA because it's a truly special experience. There are three things that make this place great: - The ordering. They do this in a lot of chinese places but you're given a paper menu, and you write in these boxes how much of each item your table wants. This in combination with the AYCE aspect makes the ordering experience a lot more fun for some reason. - The service. Food comes very quickly and is served in batches. You are always free to order more on the whim, so it really feels like you're pressing an infinite food button when you order. - The skewers. All five of us were completely stuffed by the end of this meal because all of the food was great. There isn't anything remarkable about skewers, so don't expect it to blow your mind. The one thing I would recommend thinking about is if your party isn't eating insane amounts of food, consider ordering everything a la carte instead of AYCE. I'd say we eat a lot, yet we tallied up our orders and it was only around half the cost of the AYCE itself. I assure you the cost isn't too expensive, so order to your heart's content when you're here even if you do a la carte!

Sajjad A.

Yelp
The are scammers. Everything is expensive but the food not good and the place too.. I don't recommend it at all
google avatar

Oscar L.

Yelp
The food at Funny BBQ was not bad. The pork dumplings I would highly recommend. The wonton and seafood pancake not so much. Service was pretty quick and we didn't have to wait too long. It was pretty busy inside today because of Chinese New Year, and so the inside was decorated with lots of red.

Carolyn C.

Yelp
where do i even start... we paid an "all you can eat" package and didn't even get all of our food. at the end, some random guy that didn't serve us at all begged us to leave a bigger tip, as if their food was anything worthwhile. with the service we got, they are LUCKY they got one in the first place. also zero ambiance, messy bathrooms. the name of this place is truly fitting because the service and food are a JOKE. DO NOT GO HERE!!!
google avatar

Lefai K.

Yelp
There's nothing funny about this place. Food was good. We ordered a bunch of stuff including the squid, fish-tofu skewers, crawfish, lamb skewers, fish stew, and duck blood. I really enjoyed the soup that came with the duck blood, although I'm not a fan of duck blood. Everything was great. Service was top-notch. The vibe was also good. BATHROOM REVIEW: Located near the middle of the dining area, the bathroom is a single-use bathroom. Rather dingy, and dark, it got the job done nonetheless. Sit or squat? Squat.

Mim K.

Yelp
First time that in New york that we try hot pot and lucky i meet right place excellent service everything super clean and owner so kind and takecare. Anyways 5stars for me
google avatar

Susan H.

Yelp
The bbq stick hotpot idea is good. It is less messy and the idea is nice. It comes in a a box split into the different items you ordered. The broth and everything was tasty. Drinks included and sauces unlimited with this all you can eat deal. Ice cream was for dessert, loved it
google avatar

Helen M.

Yelp
Damn thry jacked up the prices in this place. I rather go back to Brooklyn location for their hot pot and bbq skewers. It was good but the price we did a huge roundup on 1 order of the hot pot and bbq skewers. Hot pot half mushrooms/pig bone - bacon wrapped rice cakes - fish balls - fish balls with fish roe - crawfish - shrimp - fish tofu - beef triples - beef tendon - muscles - seafood bacon pancakes - rice - mushrooms - spinach - fish filet Bbq skewers - pork belly - bacon wrapped mushrooms - bacon wrapped rice cakes - bacon wrapped pork belly - beef ribs - pork ribs - lamb - squid - garlic clams - tin clams - sweet potato Nearby trains D,B to grand st Cash/Cards

Yelp
Came by on weekday evening for 2 and was seated right away. It was a paper system which they replaced pretty quickly to allow you to order more. They have complimentary chicken feet and crawfish. I would say that the skewers were pretty small in size and the beef had a lot of fat compared to the meat. My friend really likes their garlic oysters. Overall a decent place for ayce skewers.
google avatar

Li W.

Yelp
Top tip: If you do come here to eat, go with the AYCE rather than ordering a la carte. AYCE by far is the better deal, which my boyfriend and I didn't know when we came... turns out the portion sizes of each skewer is super small (think one quail egg per skewer and half bok choy per skewer). The flavors of the dry skewers are just meh; the hot pot skewers are better. Maybe the AYCE would've helped us not feel ripped off, because the portion sizes were so small, getting 50 skewers was like 10 real skewers... Had no trouble getting a seat on a Sunday evening so that was a plus.

Brianna B.

Yelp
The hot pot was okay. They allowed me to make the tomato broth vegetarian since apparently, all the broths are pork based. The bf got the spicy broth and said it didn't h add e any flavor. It was just spicy. He spent the entire meal picking out all pf the Sichuan pepper and pepper corns from his pot. The selection of add-ins was plentiful, but my problem was with the service. I ordered a blue crab, and never got it. I only remembered that i ordered it because i saw another table eating one as I was leaving. I ordered a bowl of rice two times, and never got it. I ordered fried tofu, and they gave me fried fish sticks instead Also, when I was halfway done with the broth, a server game by to offer more. I told him no since I knew mine was vegetarian. He insisted and poured the pork broth into my pot anyways. So yeah, dinner was over after that. Again, before the mishap, the pot was okay. Not the best I ever had but good enough.

Yelp
This place really is unique. They serve hot pot and skewers. It just so happen that they saw me as a reviewer and WE get perks! You write a review on google and get to spin the wheel for a chance of all sorts of prizes including lobster. I won 6 beers ha. The price is fair and the food is delicious. I'm definitely coming back again.

Yelp
I really think this place is a great gem for quality discounted lunch food around chinatown, especially for weekends! We ordered ma la tang and dry pot with multiple meats and veggie for only a little over 10 dollars each and we cant stuff more! Comparatively, the ramen place next door is like 20 bucks with not so much food! Also ordered their lamb bbq which was flavored pretty good and definitely attracting me for their ayce bbq and hotpot option! Well, we are already too full with just the lunch deal, maybe next time Would definitely recommend here for its lunch deals!

Samuel B.

Yelp
BEST HOTPOT !!!!!! SERVICE WAS INCREDIBLE, very attentive, all food came out quickly and steady, 10/10 would recommend!! PS Jason our server is fantastic!!!!!

Yelp
We walked in on a Sunday night, and were seated with no wait. It was pretty packed - so I can imagine it gets even more crowded on Fridays and Saturdays. We order the all you can eat skewers/hot pot, which came with options for sides, such as the seafood pancake (really crispy and good!), noodles, rice, and scallion pancake. They also had a sauce station and free appetizers like crawfish (just okay), chicken feet, and fruit. For BBQ, we ordered an assortment of skewers to share - the lamb, beef, and chicken thighs being our favorite. They were all delicious and well seasoned, as was the beef and enoki side that was cooked in tinfoil. They come in varying spice levels, which is nice too. For hot pot, we got the pickled pepper and the coconut chicken broths (you can order a split pot when doing AYCE) , and various skewers as well as sliced meats, seafood, and vegetables. The sliced lamb and beef were really tender and soaked up the broth nicely, and we enjoyed most of the skewers - except for the tripe and mussels, which didn't taste as fresh. Overall, really great selection for the AYCE - with lots of options some other places don't offer like tendon, pig intestine, and grilled oysters (order separately). When coming, definitely order the AYCE! Would love to try some of the al la carte options next time as well, but really enjoyed this place. Amazing and attentive service as well - free ice cream at the end!

Kevin H.

Yelp
Got the AYCE bbq skewers, everything tasted great. I really like the seasoning on the crawfish and the skewers. The tin pans were great too. Service was fast and attentive, and included unlimited soft drinks. Plus beer was bogo. Got to try ice rice for the first time. Quite the unique experience!

Yelp
My first hot pot experience at a restaurant. When I have hot pot, it's usually at a family gathering, so experiencing hot pot at a restaurant was something I wanted to try out. Also good to note that we went to three other hot pot locations before stumbling upon this one as it seems like a lot of hot pot locations didn't survive the pandemic. My gf and I did the AYCE hot pot (about $30 per person). There's no time limit, so you're not in a rush to eat as much as you can or complaining if they're stalling on you to kill your time. You're given a checklist of items you'd want and in the box you put the amount you'd like. I made the mistake of checking them off, but it's actually for quantity. For broth, we got half spicy broth and half herbal broth. Wasn't a fan of the spicy broth as it was just super oily with a bunch of various peppers with no other flavor to it. The herbal was a lot more refreshing as you'd expect, which I preferred from the two. The majority of the items on the checklist, they only give you four pieces. If you're in a group of more than four, definitely want to put a minimum of two in those checkboxes. Service is pretty good for the most part. We had our broth refilled halfway through the pot hot, plates were cleared when we were finished emptying them into the hot pot. One of the staff members had bad BO, which would be my one complaint. Other than that, my overall experience was a okay.

Yelp
Makes me sad that this place doesn't have the highest reviews on Yelp... it's one of my go-to places to order Uber Eats from (get their dry pot, it's only like $15 and gives you wayyy more food than mala project!!) I came to dine in at the restaurant for the first time today and thought the service was exceptionally good. I don't know if I'd pay to come for the hot pot necessarily, but my boyfriend and I love skewers and did the all you can eat skewers ($40 per person). We def got our bang for our buck even though it wasn't the cheapest meal. I especially loved the garlic clams, beef tripe skewers, lamb skewers, and grilled eggplant. If you do the all you can eat, all soft drinks and Chinese drinks in the fridge are free! Such a great deal. Interior is clean but I found the music inside a bit too loud for my taste.
google avatar

Liz C.

Yelp
***Solid service, Recommend the all you can eat bbq skewers, Spacious seating*** I enjoyed eating at this restaurant. We came here to try their bbq skewers/all you can eat. You order via a paper sheet and can select your ideal spicy option. The food is delicious and comes our fairly quickly. Their mild to medium spicy options aren't that spicy as a FYI. Otherwise, recommend checking this place out for a good deal!

Sandra S.

Yelp
Delicious foods here! We tried skewers: garlic eggplant, enoki, lamb, beef, short ribs, squid, bacon enoki, bacon rice cakes. They were all seasoned well and delicious! We also tried the mala dry hot pot w ramen and vegs and it was superb! They have all you can eat bbq skewers and hot pot. Staff was attentive and nice. Food came out fast. Place was spacious and comfy. They check your vaccination card + ID if u dine in.

Kaitlin L.

Yelp
The food was okay, and the service was good, except the fact that I had ordered popcorn chicken, that never delivered. I asked the servers where it was, was told that it was on its way, and never received it. The ambience was good, not too loud with conversation. Overall, a pretty good experience, other than missing food.

Yelp
Funny BBQ is one of a kind in Manhattan. Very large menu but I recommend sticking to skewers here. There are some haps though. Sometimes they get too busy and the orders are slow I had to wait 40 minutes for pickup one time. Eating in person has been a great experience thiugh

Yelp
Cheap food for $40 per person and it's not worth it. Not my cup of tea. Tho the service is good.

Yelp
They have only one good, reasonably priced dish. Everything else was mediocre and could be gotten elsewhere. The Mala (dry) hot pot $15 (fora choice of 3 meats/mushrooms) is a pretty good deal and ordering two for two people is more than enough to fill you up. Everything else is overpriced and average. While they also serve an all you can eat hotpot ($40) you can get better quality and choices elsewhere (hometown and 99 favor taste).

Yelp
Delicious and quick service! Every time my friend and I came, we never had a wait. For a nice hotpot experience, Funny BBQ is a good spot in Chinatown. Their music choice is reminiscent of a popping club with throwbacks. Their presentation of the ingredients is very appealing. I highly recommend, especially with their all inclusive sodas/ juices/ soy milk and BOGO beers!

Yelp
I have been going here almost weekly after work for 2 years. The bbq is very tasty and authentic. The staff is always friendly. When friends are in town, we always go here. Would recommend.

Yelp
Overall, really salty and spicy (asked for medium spice) but damn, so delicious. There are some things that must be salty to be enjoyed, and bbq chinese skewers are one of those things. (Though I guess they could've been more sparse with the sodium content haha.) The veggie skewers really aren't worth it, but we ordered them anyway ($2-$6 with each skewer only giving about 3-5 pieces of the veggies. The free appetizers in the back? SO worth. My favorite was the crawfish and crab cajun boil, which came with some sausages and corn. Corn was so delicious! Crawfish are tiny (the meat came out to be peanut sized) but if you manage to grab a crab shell, that stuff is deliciousness. Plus, the corn was really sweet and savory, the perfect combo! There was also cold chicken feet and oranges that day. Not sure if these changes daily. At first, we were concerned when we were told it was "free" as I'd never been to a place where crab legs and crawfish were free. But yesss, go eat it. We paid $86 after taxes and 18% tip, so I guess it's like paying for those appetizers too. Skewers in terms of favorites: 1. Bacon Wrapped Youtiao: this is absolutely GENIUS and came with 5 pieces. I already love both components individually, but together, this was salty, crispy, soft, and delicious. 2. Short Rib - perfect char and super tender 3. Beef 4. Lamb 5. QQ Sausage 6. Bacon Wrapped Mushroom 7. Bacon Wrapped Chives 8. Mussels - did not come as a skewer but with mayo instead We had other basic skewers like the fish tofu, fish balls, and chives too, but I definitely recommend getting the all of the above If you can eat 15+ of the $2 skewers, then it's worth it to do the AYCE option for $30. We did a la carte and had about 30-40 items for three people, so it was enough food. My party was stuffed (I could've kept going though.)

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place because they are throwing in a lot of fun freebies - (fresh) popcorn chicken, crawfish, every fourth person eats free, and karaoke in the party room (with no extra charge). When our group of 10 couldn't get a reservation for Hometown or Favor Taste 99, we ended up here, and they were really nice with flexibility - letting us add extra people last minute, and letting us get seated without the full party. We had no idea that we would get free karaoke in our room, and it was definitely very fun to have that option with two microphones that actually worked well. The karaoke machine took some figuring out because it defaulted to Chinese songs, but we realized there was a backed up queue. Once we got it, we had a lot of fun (especially since they use the original music videos) though we wish there had been more options. Can't really complain though about free karaoke! The food itself was actually quite good - when it did come. I normally don't care much about service, but I think it's really important for AYCE hot pot since otherwise we're just sitting around with no food. We put in our first order of sliced beef, sliced lamb, assorted tofu, and popcorn chicken. We were given skewers of unknown food, and no one told us what we were getting. When we asked, the waiter just said "Skewers. They're raw, put them in the pot." We did not get any sliced beef or lamb until almost 2 hours after our initial order, so we put in a second order about an hour in for sliced beef and lamb. Since various people put in the orders, we were initially not very organized and did not realize we were getting repeat platters of food we did NOT order and did not want - fish balls, melon/potato?, and other things. When we protested, they were like "You did order this, this is yours." We never got clams (or a bunch of other things that we wanted to get but just gave up after a while). We finally got platters upon platters of sliced meat 2-3 hours after we initially ordered. We rang the service bell multiple times with no response even 20 minutes later, and we ended up taking turns going up several times to ask for things (water, a refill of broth as our broths were boiling away, our popcorn chicken, and even our check). We were seated at 7:30 and finally left at 11. For our group of 10, I was also really surprised by the table set up - there were only two hot pots on one side, and the other side had no hot pot plates at all. This made things a little awkward and stressful for us because about 4 of us were directly responsible for making sure everyone else had food because there was no way for them to reach it. I'm not sure why there would only be 2 hot pots for so many people. Overall, the food itself was great - the popcorn chicken was made to order, so it was piping hot and delicious. The fatty meat was really good, and I really enjoyed the various forms of tofu and all the broths. If we actually got the exact food we ordered and in a timely manner, I would've definitely given this at least 4 stars. The staff upstairs apologized and said it was really busy, which it definitely was. I guess they're still ironing out the kinks.

Yelp
Incredible service and food every time, waiters are super friendly! Great price for skewers with AYCE. If the party is big enough, definitely take advantage of the karaoke rooms. 10/10b

Yelp
In the afternoon there seems a special price. The fish was good, super fresh, crispy! BBQs were all delicious. It was a nice choice.

Yelp
Been coming here for lunch and dinner for few years. There were always small mistakes here and there but it was acceptable. And then today they forgot about my order and made me wait for like 30-40minutes. They probably rushed the whole order and the fish dish that I got was not fully cooked. Never coming back again. Peace out

Yelp
Great lunch special! And they offered it to us on a holiday when little sheep across the street refused. This place is all you can eat hot pot or skewers. There are also complimentary appetizors but they are definitly catered to a chinese palette; edamame and chicken feet. The skewer and hotpot all you can eat is 26$ a person while the skewer all you cann eat is 20$. I saw people boiling their skewers in their hotpot bowl which i thought was weird. And i couldnt see any grills at the tables but the skewers that we ordered a la carte was grilled and loaded with cumin flavor. The lunch special was a selection of soups for 6.99$ I got the spicy lamb and the seafood. It did not skimp on either selection. It almost felt like they put a little bit of everything into the soup; lotus, rice cake, cabbage, etc. The service was also very nice helpful. They stood guard at either ends of the Room and helped before we had to call for it. Will definitely come back for the skewers

Yelp
This is a solid hot pot restaurant that usually has tables available during busy hours. A unique thing about this place is a lot of their meats and seafood come on skewers, so it's easier to put them in the broth. There is also a cute hello kitty room in the basement. That being said, I think it is a bit overpriced for the quality.
