Where to Eat Ramen in Nashville - Eater Nashville

"Taiwanese global mega-chain Chatime quietly opened near Belmont early on in the COVID-19 shutdown — majorly upgrading Nashville’s takeout game with soup dumplings and bubble tea. Sliding into the former home of Levant Mediterranean in Nashville, the brand created in 2003 has grown at a rapid rate, operating more than 1,000 locations in 30 countries, including New York, Boston, and Miami. They specialize in bubble tea here, but the devil miso and tonkotsu ramen are also worth noting — in addition to the fact that they’re one of the only places in the city to find xiao long bao (soup dumplings)." - Delia Jo Ramsey, Kristy Lucero

Google
I’ve given this spot a try a couple times, getting different dishes each time. I wanted so bad for it to be good, but today sealed the deal. I took 2 bites of the poke bowl was and it was inedible. I’m not sure how a few simple ingredients could taste so bad. :(. It was so bad that I politely asked for another option or a refund, and they did not allow either.

Google
I and my family come time by time. Still got surprised by the good food. Convenient, quality, and trustworthy.

On our visits to Vandy from Knoxville for my son we do our best to stop. The flavored drinks are amazing. Ramen and sushi are what keep us coming back ❤️. The staff is always so kind and friendly.

Google
Love this spot! I tried the pork ramen and it was super good. My son made his own poke bowl and really liked it too. Lots of options here — you’ll definitely find something you want!

Google
I tried the Bulogogi fries and it was very good, very filling and bursting with flavor. I also tried the devil miso ramen with pork, fishcakes, eggs and seaweed and a side of extra vegetables. The ramen was so good as well, but I’m biased to ramen :)

I don’t even know where to start. This place is amazing! I was fortunate to have lived in Hawaii for over 5 years, and I have not had a poke bowl since leaving 6 years ago. I am so happy my first one since was here. This food is all so good I starting writing this review before I even finished! The poke bowl is delicious and such a great price and portion! The gyoza and spring rolls were also fantastic. I also got my kids the tonkotsu ramen which was of course, delicious and great portion as well as a side udon and marinated shrimp. My kids ate it all up and that right there is a miracle! I also very much appreciated that they added the shrimp right to the side udon! It is all made with very fresh ingredients and you can tell! We appreciate the nice to go containers and how well it was packed too. We also got the butterfly peach bubble tea and it didn’t even make it a mile down the road before it was gone. One of the best bubble teas I’ve had! Funtime is definitely 10/10 and my new obsession! Happy kids+Happy Momma! 🙌🏼💯👏🏼🏆🤩 Also, had to add that the poke bowl definitely has the wow factor. Had someone stop and ask me about it while we were eating at the park. 🙌🏼

Google
First time trying this restaurant, and overall a positive experience! Pros: + Awesome presentation (eyes eat first!) + Generous portions + Lots of toppings + Strong flavors + Clean restaurant space + Food comes out quick Cons: - I'm pretty sure the noodles are 3rd party and not fresh - Noodles were overcooked and broke when tried to pull them out from underneath the mountain of toppings - Cashier seemed like she wanted to be anywhere but here Again, this was an overall positive experience with this location! I'll definitely be coming back to try other items, and I'll ask if the noodles can be undercooked to retain their integrity.

Google
We came here because it’s my son’s graduation and one of his favorite places to go. Can’t blame him. The ramen is delicious and the bubble teas are wonderful! The staff are always so nice and friendly. The service is quick. The location is perfect, short walking distance from school. It’s become one of our favorite places in Nashville as well 😍

Yelp
Well this is Nashville, can't expect authentic Asian anywhere. This is a decent option if you really want an asian-like noodle bowl. Would get a 2 if there were competition but for Nashville, I'd give it a 3.5 Kind of limited parking on the street Interior: interesting large stuffies, some tables were clean Tonkastsu (pork) bowl -ok flavor -good amount of stuff in it -noodle cooked ok -bamboo seemingly from a can -cuts of meat not properly marinated Tempura: -not real tempura -like panko flakes on fried shrimp -doesn't taste too bad, just isn't real tempura

Yelp
I love coming here to get fruit tea. You can't go wrong with butterfly peach, mango qq, or passion fruit green tea! And get the punch card because you'll be back. I have only eaten here once and wouldn't come back to eat.

Yelp
Save for your next sushi date night in Nashville Funtime Ramen is a recent find for Jordan and I. Located across the street from Belmont's campus, this is a great spot for a quick lunch, casual date or a group hang. We ordered two standard sushi rolls and a specialty sushi roll to share: Spicy Tuna Roll, Crunchy Shrimp Roll & the Belmont Roll. We also each got tea, I ordered the strawberry green tea with lychee jelly and Jordan got a recommendation from the cashier with boba. Make sure to stop by and check this place out if you're ever in Nashville and in the mood for sushi or ramen for dinner!

Yelp
Overall I ate here because it was convenient; they just switched to a kiosk type order system so there was a little confusion and delay I attribute to that. The quality of the food was outstanding and the fruit teas were awesome. If you can walk to get there that's best; parking is pretty much non-existent and construction in front makes it even worse. BUT it is a good place for locals and the college crowd although also a bit pricey.

Virginia C.

Yelp
The wings weren't tossed and just had the paste thrown on it. Took a bite and was extremely disappointed so much so i drove all the way back just to return it. The smoothie tasted like milk more than anything and the food was extremely flavorless. Over all not a fan at all. Spent 60+ and also tipped for take out and wish i could get all my money back honestly.
google avatar

Kimberly M.

Yelp
Really cute place that draws the local college crowd with big portions and affordable fair. We popped in here for a late dinner. The staff was very helpful and efficient. However, the chicken was very over cooked and the noodles had no bite. The broth was flavorful, but if I return, I will order something other than ramen.

Yelp
Craving for some Asian street food and found Funtime on Yelp. I had Mala pork noodle, takoyaki and Lychee green with lychee jelly. Lychee green and takoyaki are US standard, tako is small so no decent surprise there. I went there on a weekday at the time it opened around noon, not sure if it had changed how the noodle soup was cooked, but Mala pork noodle got the la (spicy) no ma (mainly from Sichuan peppercorn), it appeared and tasted like they put some chili oil in the standard broth and called it Mala noodle soup. I hope they can cook the pork belly meat longer to get the fat out, after finishing 3 pieces, even with the spicy kick, the pickled veggie, and lychee tea, I felt greasy. But its menu offered decent price sushi roll, I may come back to try those.

Yelp
Delicious Ramen fairly priced. I visited Funtime for lunch recently and I'm so glad I did. The menu is interesting and has more than just Ramen. I tried the Korean Army Ramen and loved it. It has beef, Spam (!), tofu, and a nice level of spicy heat. The flavor profile was fantastic. I would definitely order this again. My friend had the Tonkotsu Ramen and said it was delicious. I noticed several college students were in the restaurant, and almost all of them were drinking one of the Boba Teas. They looked great and I will definitely try one next time. This is a great place for a delicious lunch.
google avatar

Brian R.

Yelp
Don't let the photos fool you! Moderate fun, when your ramen is cold to tepid and the noodles are mushy. I'm guessing that the Korean Army Ramen is from the survivalist cookbook of the North Korean Army. The noodles were warm but overcooked. Broth lukewarm to cold. Spam cold as was the kimchi. Not very flavorful. Same problem for the tonkatsu pork. Not fkavorful. Hot and cold. The meat in the Pork Chashu was low grade and older. Funky taste. We threw it out. Gyoza was reheated from a prior fry. Sucked. The takoyashi balls were fresh fried in a deep fryer, rather than being freshly turned/made. They were also excruciatingly hot. Order than eat at tables inside, or out. Fast food ambience. Service was perfunctory, at best. Next to Belmont University, the good reviews must be college students. Some of the worst ramen that I've ever eaten. AVOID.

Yelp
Que! I can't believe I have found the best ramen in Nashville. The service was smooth and friendly and very quick. I ordered the tuna roll with avocado and the Tonkotsu Pork Ramen Noodles. All I can say is nothing, my mouth is full... yum yum. Amazing! The roll was so fresh I thought they had a thank in the back and fishing from it on demand. The ramen was just delicious. I definitely would add some spicy to it for my personal liking but the original version is just perfect. The flavors were on point and the noodles! A ramen is a ramen because of its noodles too and they were the perfect ones. It brings all the yummy stuff. I would say the egg could be a little less boiled but still delicious. The prices were very reasonable for the area and the type of food. Parking is not easy but they do have some street parking around. They have a parking lot in the back but it's not theirs so they have warning signs to NOT park there to avoid towing. Come check them out!

Yelp
Looks like Chatime is now Funtime, but it's as good as (if not better than) ever! The options for tea are still extensive and the ramen is still delicious. I love the devil miso ramen, but I might have to get a different kind in the future if it's that spicy again--it really knocked my socks off this time but is probably perfect for someone who's less of a spice wimp. I tried a new tea today, the jasmine milk tea, and it was wonderfully balanced. It was sweet without being TOO sweet and the jasmine flavor really came through. The boba were perfectly soft and chewy. I'm excited to come back and try some of the new options. Now there is sushi, poke, and rice dishes (like katsu curry). Sitting smack in the middle of the Belmont campus, the atmosphere is relaxed college casual. Funtime is great place to pop in and relax for a bit, study, or meet with friends. Boba is served at the counter, and food is brought to the table. I'm glad to see this place growing and evolving because I'd be so sad to lose it!

Yelp
A number of restaurants close on Sunday or Monday, including my usual ramen spot. In the mood for ramen, I was not to be denied. Saw the high marks for Funtime and it was off to the races! Parking is very limited in front of the business; likewise for street parking. We found a spot a little over a block away; conspicuous signs were posted about parking restrictions but they applied Monday-Friday (today was Sunday). Order at the counter, pay and seat yourself. This arrangement worked well for us as they were not too busy. My Devil Miso Soup was spicy as advertised so be aware. I wanted something spicy on this dreary, rainy day and it was perfect. The egg was just right, bamboo was on point and the pork was fabulous. I tried my partners Tonkatsu Ramen and I have to say the broth was some of the best I've had; so rich and savory it had a light gravy-like texture. Beautiful! A variety of milk teas and smoothies are also available, so this place ended up being a lunch and dessert spot. I was pleasantly surprised to discover Funtime, and will make it back to try something else!

Yelp
I was looking for a place to have lunch after visiting Lane Motor Museum. I did a search and found Funtime Ramen & Tea Bar. Perfect! I actually drove around the block the first time. There is parking in front of the eatery, but all spots were taken. I was also looking at street parking. I eventually cycled back and parked on Portland Avenue. I then walked over. There are a set of steps that lead you to the main entrance. I don't think that this place has a ramp for those who need one. This eatery is near Belmont University. I had found a college eatery. If you look closely at the sign as you are heading over to the entrance, Fun is in a slightly different font than time. My guess at the time was that this eatery was a Chatime. I looked at some photos on Yelp and it confirmed my suspicion. It changed over to being an independent place for ramen, snacks, and bubble tea. The idea is that you place your order at the counter and pay for it. If you are dining in, you get a numbered stand and you place it on your table. Your order then gets delivered to you. I was hungry and thirsty. I placed this order: - Mango QQ with pearls and coconut jelly - Pan-fried gyoza with dipping sauce - Tonkotsu ramen with pork I asked that the bamboo shoots be held in my ramen. Done! My bubble tea was ready first. The mango was so refreshing. There were lots of pearls and coconut jelly. I loved this drink so much that it sparked me to get another bubble tea before I left the place. The pan-fried gyoza came out next. They were in a basket with dipping sauce. The filling had pork and some veggies. It was flavourful and generous. Each gyoza was perfectly pan-fried. They were authentic. I recommend getting them. My tonkotsu ramen with pork came out next. I liked that it came with an egg and generous slices of pork. The ramen was chewy. It was highly enjoyable to devour. The pork was tender and delicious. I loved the egg. It was neither overdone, nor runny. Just right. The roasted seaweed was a nice touch. The only part of my ramen that needed some improvement was the broth. It didn't have a ton of flavour. It wasn't bad, as everything else in my ramen stepped up to the flavour plate, but the broth was not memorable. It was boring. I ordered a strawberry green tea with lychee jelly (no sugar and less ice) to go. For both my purchases, I paid with a credit card and tipped. Yay! I used the washroom at the back of the store. It was clean. No complaints. I returned to the counter and my bubble tea was ready. I thanked the woman and left with my drink. I drank it as I continued being a tourist. It was so good. I love lychee jelly, which complemented the strawberry and green tea flavours. If you feel like bubble tea or a decent meal, come here. Prices are good, considering that it's in college territory. You can save a bit and leave with a happy tummy. (313)

Yelp
This place has its highs and its lows. The sushi was tasty, but the ramen could have been better. The matcha was great but the smoothie was a bit too milky. Overall pretty good, just some items stand out when compared to others. Staff were very friendly and the inside was nice and comfortable.

Shelby H.

Yelp
Not good, my sushi roll tasted like actual dirt/ soil. They need to change the oil they deep fry in.

Yelp
We are here early evening on a Sunday. It wasn't too busy, maybe four other tables. Our food came quickly. Our ramen was good. We've had better though so that's the four stars. Got the shrimp Tonkotsu and my daughter had the chicken. My other daughter had the vegan ramen. Ambiance was nothing special; college chill vibes.

Erica F.

Yelp
Unfortunately the teriyaki chicken tasted like pure candy. It seemed like old chicken that had been fried in brown sugar. Never again. The boba tea was delicious-I would give the boba a 5. The food was a 1

Yelp
"Very cool college vibe ramen eatery" PROS: fast service, food was decent, we had ramen that tasted good! Delicious Bobba tea at a reasonable price. Friendly servers, clean bathrooms, free fast Wi-Fi. Discount for students. CONS: ramen was on the salty side, salmon poke bowl was fresh but the sauce was a little too heavy, which took away the fresh salmon taste. Ademame apertizers was average, had too much salt on it. The shop was a little small so sometimes it could be packed with no seating options. PRO TIP: bring your college ID for 10% off!

R D.

Yelp
Easy, good, not the most expensive Ramen. Friendliness and warm smiles! Sat with a teddy bear :)

Yelp
FunTime, formerly ChaTime (or at least that's what it was called back when I visited) is a solid Boba/Ramen place frequented by many Vanderbilt students. In my visit, I ordered the Devil Miso Ramen and Wintermelon Dew with Grass Jelly. The Devil Miso Ramen was spicy as advertised, and unfortunately it seems that Funtime doesn't provide water for patrons which would've been bad if I hadn't ordered a drink as well. When it comes to the Wintermelon Dew, I'd advise being careful with it if you aren't a fan of sweet stuff. Though I'm a huge fan of anything sweet, I found it excessive and would caution to get it with reduced sugar if possible.
google avatar

Courtney S.

Yelp
Boba was great. Idk about the ramen bc we only came for drinks. Prefect amount of sweet for me. My daughter loved hers too. Atmosphere was pleasant and the people were nice. Other people at the restaurant that had ramen seemed to enjoy it and it looked absolutely amazing.

Wendy M.

Yelp
Coming here again. Always amazing food, and a lot of it! Had the Niku sweet beef udon. Amazing. and had my usual milk tea boba. Definitely satisfied.

Yelp
I visited Chatime on Friday, February 26, 2021 around 8 pm. I had to write this updated review and remove a star because of my recent poor experience. That is not to say that I have also been consistently treated with poor service almost every time I visited Chatime because there seems to be a lack of quality customer service and engagement skills in a couple of the workers. When I was asking a few questions about the menu, the Asian girl taking my order had a bad attitude and sounded like I was wasting her time. She looked exhausted, but that's no excuse for poor customer treatment. I ordered the vanilla pearl milk tea at 50% sweetness and it tasted like absolute diabetes in a cup... barely drinkable. Whoever was responsible for making my drink clearly either didn't read the 50% sweetness or needs to be retrained on how to properly make drinks. Other workers I've engaged with weren't very friendly and gave the impression that they didn't want to be there to take my order or even work there in general. Overall, drinks were overly sweet even when adjusted and service needs significant improvements. With that being said, it's very unlikely that I will return.

Ivan Z.

Yelp
I ordered 15.99 sweet beef Gyudon guess what they only gave me 2 slices beef ! Wtf is that ? 2 slices beef for 15.99?
google avatar

Ornella S.

Yelp
I Love Bubble tea. It is both a beverage and a snack rolled in one. This is my first time trying this spot. Half the fun of going out for a boba tea is customizing it perfectly to your tastes. The menu offers tons of different drinks, including fruit tea, milk tea, smoothies and even coffee drinks. There are also a variety of flavors ranging from fruity options, like strawberry or watermelon, to ones that satisfy the dessert lovers, like mint cookie. Feeling adventurous? Try flavors like taro or lychee. Lactose intolerant? Ask for the dairy free drinks. What's more...You can adjust the sweetness of your drink, change how much ice you want (for when you need your boba fix but it's freezing outside), or go toppings galore. It's like a vacation for your tastebuds. I ordered the Taro Smoothie with boba. My family got Fresh Mango Smoothie with boba and Strawberry Au Lait Smoothie with boba. The smoothies were tasty, not too sweet and the boba added great texture. We all loved the drinks. Overall, solid place to get Boba tea in Nashville!

Yelp
I am going to rate this for what it is, which is a college food joint. I don't think the ramen is particularly special (see review on Black Dynasty in Bearded Iris Sylvan Supply), but it is much less expensive than most of the Ramen places in town. I gave the bump to 4 largely because it is not trying to be a higher end Ramen spot. Plus the teddy bears? Let's dig into that. When you compare a great Japanese Ramen to Funtime, you get a really reach deep broth where some of the fat is emulsified. The majority of the flavor itself comes from the tare (sauce) that is placed in before adding the broth, noods, and toppings.. The eggs are not cooked in the broth (see picture), but will be at the softer side of soft boiled, with a bright yellow/orange yoke (the pic shows how muted brownish grey both the white and yolk are here. Having said that, the $13.99 price tag is about $6 - $7 cheaper than other places, so I can't rate them as equivalents. I also had some boba tea, which is a fairly standard option in a lot of Asian restaurants. Mango QQ with pearl boba and coconut jelly. Interesting textures. Definitely recommend for the cheaper meal; would opt for Black Dynasty and a beer if you want to go more high end. For a summary, this place is where you go when

Yelp
I was so excited to try Chatime as I saw so many great reviews and the menu looked like it had a lot of great options. I've had Chatime in other cities, but I was extremely disappointed in this Chatime and I'm not sure if I came on a bad day. I got the Horjicha Grass Jelly milk tea. I must say that their grass jelly is really good, but my drink was so watered down that it tasted like cardboard. One of my friends got the Oolong Milk Tea and it straight up tasted like milk and water. When she ordered it, the person behind the counter didn't even know what drink she was referring to. My other friend got the Thai Iced Tea and it was extremely watered down as well and had no flavor.

Yelp
"HELL yeah!" was my initial response after seeing my delivered food. I'm SO happy to have found a new ramen option after being let down by Shokku and ridiculously price gouged at Otaku. The Tonkotsu ramen had the good egg noodles, perfectly cloudy broth, a ton of delicious pork, 2 fish cakes, and an entire marinated egg. I saw another review complaining about the prices but you really do get your money's worth here in my opinion (at least in Nashville). I also tried the homemade gyoza which was amazing and perfectly seared on one side. Was also delighted to see Takoyaki on the menu and had to try it as well! So soft and delicious!! I can't tell you how stoked I am right now. I got this quality of food delivered on a cold, winter day so I can only imagine how great it would be dining in.

Yelp
This is the only international bubble tea chain in Nashville. Chatime is the phenom currently in the Nashville bubble tea world for good reason. In both variety and taste, they are exquisitely consistent. Even when there is a short queue, I've never had to wait longer than 2-5 minutes for food or beverages. While I'll personally vouch for most everything on their menu, my personal go-to is rather a non-conventional option - fresh milk with grass jelly. Grass jelly is typically known for medicinal properties in East Asia but is also commonly consumed as an enjoyable beverage. It is incredibly filling though, so I recommend eating light before consuming. My other go-to beverage order is their Mango QQ - it's a mango-based tea with plenty of tapioca, coconut jelly, and a variety of toppings lush across the bottom of the cup. Yum!Chatime is known for providing extra toppings compared to other bubble tea places, and you'll find that half your beverage looks like tapioca pearls, lychee jelly, or your choice of delicious, chewable bubble. It's actually quite rare to see a ramen bar attached to a typical Chatime, so Nashville is quite fortunate to have both. I'm partial to the bulgogi fries - a decadent combination of marinated beef on a bed of crispy pot crispy french fries. Heavenly. However, their ramen plays second fiddle to the outstanding bubble tea. The tonkatsu was pretty decent with plenty of veggies and meat, but I still enjoyed the reprieves of tea sips more than the ramen itself. Don't get me wrong, the noodles are always al dente and tasty. Their tea is just outstanding. Parking is mainly street with a limited few spots in their minute lot in the front. Staff is super accommodating, and there is some porch seating in addition to 2-4 person indoor seating at tables. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Well this is exciting! I've always felt like Nashville is lacking in decent Asian food so I was looking forward to trying out this place which is near where I live. Ordered the Pearl Milk Tea and Karaagi Popcorn Chicken with Rice. The milk tea was pretty good. I ordered it less sweet (since I prefer my milk tea to be not overly sweet) and was pleased to find that it was exactly that. There was a good balance between the milk and the tea flavor which I really appreciated - plus, the boba were nice and soft! I was a little surprised to find that they only have one size though. The chicken tasted great (especially with the rice) but was not as crisp as I was expecting. But I'm not sure that's a very fair statement because I did order it to go so that might have accounted for its slight sogginess. Still, it was tender and flavorful on the inside so that somewhat made up for it. It also came with a small helping of assorted vegetables (which were a nice addition - especially the pickled ginger which added a different flavor profile) and an egg. Overall a decently sized lunchtime meal. A pretty good spot for some quick Asian food and bubble tea - I'll definitely be back (especially given its convenience)! I'm looking forward to trying some of their other menu options!

Great food and had plenty of options for the entire family. Parking can be difficult, but definitely worth the it.

Yelp
I love this little place! It is so nice to walk around Belmont and have a little ramen and sushi date. You gotta try it! :)

Yelp
ordered takeout and it was just as good as ordering in person !! incredible food and the teas taste great

Juliana S.

Yelp
My husband and I have been here twice now and it has been phenomenal both times. We like the Korean Army Ramen the BESt if you like a small spice! They always got our food to us very fast! Pictures is the Korean Army & the Tonkotsu.
google avatar

Kelsey E.

Yelp
Came in on a whim on a rainy day when we were craving ramen - Funtime did not disappoint! We got spring rolls, mango boba, Tonkotsu ramen, and vegan ramen. I often don't like vegan broth, but this was solid! The noodles were so smooth and everything was presented beautifully down to the engraving on the chopsticks. If you don't want to spend $20+ on a food bowl of ramen, this is the place for you!

Seth H.

Yelp
Decent flavor and spice (I ordered spicy miso ramen). Noodles just like instant gas station ramen bowl. Also, it wasn't very hot (temperature wise) like ramen should be. We also ordered two sushi rolls. They were very small - and instead of eel and avocado like we ordered, there was just avocado with a nearly invisible piece of eel (or who knows what). If they were out of something- cool.. but they could've asked us if we'd like to order something else. I also found it odd there's no way to get tap water, or water from a jug- which seems like it's fairly standard in places where you order at the counter and have the option to dine in. There's only bottled water, apparently. They want you to leave a 15/20/25% tip on the iPad at the counter, but even though I did, there was basically no customer service or small effort to make sure dinner for four was ok.
google avatar

Sarah F.

Yelp
Stopped in after work to satisfy a ramen craving. I ordered the pork tonkotsu and some spicy edamame. Both were delicious! Sure, it might not be the most "gourmet" ramen in Nashville, but neither are the places that think they are, TBH. For the price (which is more than reasonable), you get a ton of yummy food that is sure to leave you satisfied. I would 100% come again!

Yelp
I really like this Boba place. They have a decent selection , it's not a huge selection of Boba, but the ones they have are pretty good. They also have some good food and they make it pretty fast. They have more meals than other Boba places do. They are very nice and helpful. Unfortunately they raised their prices recently by a lot. I'm talking like three dollars more on the meals and they got rid of their combo meals, which were a really good deal. So now this place is gonna have to be a luxury. It cost me $20 for a drink and lunch to pickup. If I wanted to spend $20 on lunch I could have it delivered from some other location like Fido. I used to come here with my husband , but now it would be $40 for two drinks and meals or $14 for two drinks. It's just a bit too expensive to come so often. The irony is that when the prices are affordable I'll go like 2 times a week. But when they are higher I can only go like once a month. They said they had to raise prices due to inflation etc. so I guess we can't blame them. I guess to fix this problem we'd have to fix the entire American economy and stop feeding monopolies like Amazon. Very sad to live in a world where people make less an hour than it costs to buy a fast food meal. I still like this place and I will come when I can, but I honestly can't afford to come often anymore. Also see my pictures : I was charged $1 more than the menu price for the bulgogi meal. I placed a phone order and they quoted my total before tax as $17.98 at the price on the menu for bulgogi which is $12.99. When I came in I asked why the price was so high and the clerk said that was before tax. I just let it go because they did not understand. But after when they gave me the receipt I saw it's because they added a dollar to the meal and charged $13.99. Maybe by accident? Or maybe the price raised between the time I placed the order and picked it up.

Yelp
This place was really cute. It's a small shop, but it's nicely decorated/kept up. My husband got the katsu curry dish and that was really delicious. My ramen was not great. It was pretty bland to be honest, I didn't even finish it because it was bland. The music in there was way too loud, and it was a sensory overload for myself. I was really looking forward to the ramen being flavorful but I was bummed it wasn't. Since the staff was really nice and the location was great we will give a try one more time before calling it quits. ‍

Yelp
So exciting that the sushi and poke bowl are live now! The salmon is definitely the freshest I've ever had!

Yelp
This place is cute! It has a nice atmosphere and chill vibe. The service was friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. The ramen was really good, the broth was mild and it was a good portion size; I love the spoon and chopsticks lol. The sushi was really good too. I definitely could use a nap right now if I'm being honest. Funtime is definitely a return spot and I'm looking forward to coming back with friends.

Yelp
Me and my friends got the pork tonkatsu ramen and it tasted very old. The woman at the front with eyeliner who took our order had an univiting attitude. She had no customer service skills whatsoever. The ramen tasted bland and dirty. I do not recommend to anyone.

Yelp
Amazing coffee smoothie and the pearls were up to par...dewy and chewy. Great customer service. I would recommend this place!

Yelp
We always visit this location when we stop by Tennessee. They are really nice and accommodating as well. I love the student meals and combos. Mango GG 5/5 Our favorite drink. Tasty and refreshing. Just a good amount of tea and sweetness. Wintermelon Grass Jelly 5/5 This was a tasty drink as well. Good amount of flavor! Butterfly tea 3/5 It was very pretty but tooo sweet for my taste. It was a nice experience tho. Now I know. But if you're a fan of sweet drinks then you should try it. Ramen tonkatsu 5/5 A good flavor. We enjoyed this broth. Sweet beef and rice 5/5 I enjoy the thin beef and it's flavor. They give you enough meats for your rice and the egg is yummy. It's a light and tasty meal!

Yelp
I have been here more than enough times in the last couple of weeks since discovering this place around the corner from my place to say that I am legit hooked. It offers what I like - low key and low maintenance without the frills and cost. The frills are in the food, not the clientele. For starters they offer discounts for students. Flash them your student ID, and they will hook you up. You're not limited to only being a student at Belmont or Vanderbilt. The student meal offers you a few choices are ramen and a boba or fruit tea for $10 and some change with taxes. It is a hearty meal that can be appreciated in two helpings. You won't go wrong with ramen for a later time. It keeps well. I have tried several items on the menu and found that the sweet beef udon is my favorite and worth every penny. I am a sucker for sweet and savory. This is a perfect mix of both. Portion size, they are not skimpy when providing substance in their dishes unlike other ramen places I have been to that charge $5 to $7 dollars more for basically the same thing and less quality. Staff and atmosphere are really chill. They are abiding by COVID-19 guidelines and are ensuring the best quality safety that any restaurant can. Everyone is wearing a mask both cooks and the front of the house. I am a stickler for this considering I won't patronize places that are not taking the pandemic seriously. The atmosphere is chill. They have an outdoor patio and a dine-in option with limited seating. Most of the orders I saw being taken were to-go orders with a revolving door of delivery drivers picking up for outside customers. I think that this is a benefit to have knowing I can order out if I do not want to go into this place even though it is close by. This is going to be my new hot spot for ramen. Can't beat the convenience and the taste.

Yelp
Love the chain, but needs to improve on the boba basics. I've been here since Nashville got its first boba place, and I've been waiting for the day that one of my favorite chains would make Nashville its home. Extra kudos to Chatime for settling down right in between two college campuses, and I'll definitely be back to try their student meals. That being said, there's a lot of room for improvement. I've had/tasted the classic milk tea, taro, oolong, jasmine green, and thai, with varying combos of toppings. My thoughts: - sweetness scale is WAY off. I don't know what kind of kids they're catering to, but the amount of sugar in 50% sweetness is still too much. Especially for the Thai - I had to go get that changed because my roommate was gagging. Just let us know when you fix the scale, I'll be going for 0%-30% in the meanwhile. - boba is very smooshy mushy, not QQ at all. Having resorted to making our own boba, we know a good trick or two when it comes to cooking pearls - these just seemed way too overcooked. - my first visit, when I asked for the sweetness to be changed, the bobarista had their mask on the chin and hair untied. I get that it's a new place, but the quality of service is still important esp during a pandemic :-) I think a lot of people are super hyped for this place, and rightfully so. Looking forward editing this review as time & quality goes up!

Yelp
I'm sorry but the ramen was not good. I got the chicken one, and it was very bland. The chicken was very fatty and dry, and the noodles were too soft and mushy. The sushi and the taro milk tea were also underwhelming. Portions were decent. I would maybe give another entree item a try but the ones picked were definitely a miss. It should also be noted that I have had black dynasty ramen rather recent and you cannot even compare the two.

Yelp
Parking is limited, but worth it if you're around the area. It's a small place that's walkable around Belmont University. It's tucked behind a gas station that offers various bubble tea selections and a flavorful bowl of ramen under $10. How can you beat that!

Yelp
The curry was drenched in onions and the udon was over cooked. No tap water, only bottled water available.
