Los Angeles-Based Lebanese Restaurant FurnSaj Plans to San Diego Location - Eater San Diego

"Called an 'epic destination for Lebanese shawarma and flatbreads' and highlighted as an underrated bakery to try by Eater LA, FurnSaj Bakery & Restaurant is venturing beyond the greater Los Angeles area to open a branch in Hillcrest where it will replace Paxti’s Pizza on Fourth Avenue this summer. According to Eater LA, the restaurant was founded by Lebanese-born chef Charlie Succar, who attended the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts-Scottsdale and worked for several big name bakery brands. Succar runs FurnSaj with his brother Mel, who says that the pair are planning to open at least two locations in San Diego. The Hillcrest store will feature the same extensive menu as its LA counterparts, which hinges on the oven, or 'furn', and a staple griddle-cooked flatbread, the 'saj.' Fresh-baked daily, the saj is served with a variety of Mediterranean plates and wraps including shawarma, soujouk, gyro, falafel, and kebab. Another popular flatbread is mana’ish, an oven-baked version with an array of toppings to choose from and an assortment of appetizers and sides like hummus and grape leaves. Other baked goods include cheese saroukh, a bread filled with a mix of cheeses and spices, and dessert ranging from sweet tahini bread or a bread topped with labneh and honey. The new San Diego location is slated to open by mid-to-late summer." - Candice Woo

Google
Without a doubt, the best Mediterranean/Lebanese food I had in SD. We went for the kibbeh (that was insanely good!) plate with labneh and hummus, a kafta and cheese flatbread, and babaganoush with pita, that’s honestly was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted in my life! So humbly delicious! Prices are wonderful considering the portion sizes that are so large. This place is a gem!

Google
Employees great you quickly and are on top of it! I ordered to go, a large fattoush salad and a vegan kibbeh, which I have never had before. Nice open dinning area and a very central location at the start of Hillcrest coming from Mission Hills.

Google
The flavors of the dishes and pizza are awesome. I also like how generous they are with the meat on the pizza. The only negative is the parking depending on the times. The parking lot is very small, so you’ll have to get lucky to find a spot. I’m a huge fan of this restaurant. The portions and flavor are on point. I highly highly recommend. They also offer catering.

Google
What an awesome restaurant. I was expecting something nice.. But the food, the variety, & the taste was over my expectations. We were a group of 4, we had zataar, spinach pie, lamb & beef raps, falafel plates.. All were soo good. What made things even nicer & our experience wonderfully is ( Shay). She was super friendly & helpful with her great smile. Thank you Shay ☺️

Google
I have to say, it was a lot of food for the price. The chicken kabob plate was good, except the rice was mushy and the pita bread they give you is not that great. I will say the hummus was really good! Not a lot of places have good hummus. The don't have many tables for indivuals but guess you just have to find a spot near a stranger. I would def go again, but def not get rice there.

Google
This review is about the bread it doesn't seem made there anymore. Before it was fluffy and like the consistency of a pancake. Now it is flat doesn't have that full fatty flavor in your mouth , color is different and it is floury. Can you bring back the old bread

Ibrahim Boubess

Google
The spicy tomato and onion was decent. But the mini cheese boreg had cold cheese inside, which wasn’t great. The Lahme B’ajine was disappointing, it didn’t taste fresh and had garlic in it. I’m from the Middle East, and we don’t make Lahme B’ajine with garlic.

Google
Wow. Just wow. Delicious chicken kebab plate. The chicken was flavorful, succulent, and perfectly done. Tabbouleh and baba ghanoush were excellent. Falafael could have had a bit more flavor, but still good. A 4/5. Great value for the money. Friendly service, place was immaculately clean. Really enjoyed and highly recommend. Perfect casual breakfast, lunch or dinner spot. We had our food for breakfast and split the kebab. Best breakfast ever!

Yelp
About as good as any manaeesh/fatayer that I've had +the dough/saj bread is legit +so many options on the menu +they didn't appear to have a large staff and yet all the orders for our group of 10+ people were out in minutes. Very quick! -I ordered breakfast wrap with sujuk (egg, arabic sausage, a lot of cheese). A large portion, just too heavy. I asked for pickles on the side which helped me get through half the wrap. Wouldn't get this again. I think you can't go wrong with any of the traditional flat breads. Plenty of seating. I'll be back

Yelp
What a great find! Furnsaj wasn't on my radar when visiting San Diego, but I walked by and knew I needed to stop in. The portions are HUGE, so many vegan options, and everything was delicious. The falafel wrap was legit the size of two wraps and held up as leftovers the next day! Food came out very fast and the location is quite large!

Yelp
Pass through for weekend lunch. Tried the chicken shawarma wrap. Comes wrapped as 2 portions, most appreciative since I could only eat half. Very flavorful, tasty and not too salty. Staff was welcoming and pleasant. Good food and service, thank your for the experience.

Yelp
This place had beautiful looking wrap sandwiches. If i ate bread that's what i would have ordered. Since i don't I ordered the chicken kabob salad and hummus with a side of garlic sauce. The salad was huge. definitely enough for two. Unfortunately the chicken was under seasoned and dry and the salad really needed salt. On the plus side the hummus was yummy, the veggies fresh, the garlic sauce tasty and the cashier very friendly. The place was clean and open. Water was free. There were plenty of indoor tables and three outdoor pooch friendly tables. If i ate bread i'd be back.

Yelp
I was so glad to discover this mediterranean shop with extensive vegan options in San Diego's Hillcrest neighborhood. The food was delicious and the portions huge! I was instantly convinced to try out Furnsaj when I read they had vegan pastries and other options for mains like vegan chicken. I opted for the vegan chicken bowl and it was so fresh. I also split some of the samosa style pastries with my partner; both the cheese and potato options were great. Service was solid--easy to order and the cashier answered/confirmed my questions about the vegan selections. Ambiance was so-so; basically what I expected for a more fast casual place--no frills and a basic setup. Perfectly fine for my lunch though!

Yelp
Delicious food with huge portions. This place has a huge menu, open and clean dining area. The food is always served quickly and you can taste the quality of ingredients. I'm never disappointed and always excited to get something new. Staff is friendly!

Yelp
We've been to FURNSAJ BAKERY & RESTAURANT a couple of times now, it's our spot for a fast and easy grab for Mediterranean food. The service here is always nice and the cashier always has a nice and welcoming smile. Foods we always order here are the following: *TAWOUK KEBAB & CHICKEN *BEEF KEBAB PLATE *KAFTA BEEF PLATE *POTATO SAMBOUSEK *MINI SPINACH PIE As always, our food doesn't take too long to come out and the portions are always good. Every single meat was flavorful and well seasoned. Some meats were tender and moist but some of them were dry, but that was only a slight issue because with all the good sides like their salad and their delicious Baba Ghanoush and Hummus, you will set aside the small problem right away. I love their Baba Ghanoush here, I love dipping my Naan in it, it's just so delicious. The place is bright and has a good space inside. People kept going in and out 'coz I see mostly to-go orders, I believe it's because the Parking has limited space and it could be difficult to find parking since there are other stores in the area. Parking here is free for 45 minutes, after that, you have to pay. Good place to get a quick good Mediterranean food, but we noticed a big increase from last year's prices to this year for some of their foods. We like the food here, we will still come back again and again as long as the Prices and Portions are still reasonable.

Yelp
I read about this place when they opened a while back. There was a piece about them in the SD Reader. I stopped in to try them out. The place is super clean inside and the staff are friendly and attentive. They have a big menu with lots of choices of food and drinks. I ordered the beef shawarma but I think I should have gone with the lamb gyros. The wrap was not to my liking. The meat was pretty salty but I think that's the way it's supposed to be. It may just be my palate but it just wasn't to my liking. Dont let that stop anyone from trying the place! Definitely judge for yourself and give it a try!

Yelp
Walked in to this place on a whim because we were craving Lebanese food. Their menu is HUGE! They also have food on display as well, like sambousek and kibbeh with different fillings as well. There was plenty of seating and the place was very clean and well-kept. We ordered Kofta, a beef sambousek, and kibbeh. It was fairly busy and our order came out after 20 minutes. I personally really enjoyed the sambousek, SO delicious. The Kofta was really good and the portion was pretty big IMO! Perfectly spiced. Also, our cashier was so sweet! Will definitely be returning whenever I'm in Hillcrest.

Yelp
My favorite Mediterranean fast casual restaurant in San Diego. Furnsaj recently increased their prices (inflation!), but their plates are still worth it. I've had the beef, lamb, and chicken plates and they're all delicious. The Lamb Gyro Plate is my favorite. Each plate comes with two sides, saj bread, and rice. The plates are LOADED and perfect to share between two if you're not super hungry. I most recently got it with the hummus and baba ghannouj. Both dips are very flavorful and authentic. The lamb is delicious and juicy.

Frederic N.

Yelp
Avoid! The meat is reheated and does not taste good. Same for manaish that should be cooked upon order and no reheated. This restaurant would not never make it in Lebanon

Yelp
Was craving some manakish (middle eastern flatbread) and I was pleasantly surprised. I got zaatar manakish with beef shawarma and cheese on it. Sooo good! Also tried the gyros and chicken shawarma with rice. The gyros are nice and flavorful, tender and juicy, the chicken was good, not as good as the beef or gyros. The babaganoush and hummus were delicious as well. I like their garlic sauce too. Good flavors done right! Love that it's close to home. The outside didn't strike me as being as good as it was, definitely a must try if you're in the Hillcrest area and want some good middle eastern food to go or even dine in. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
I went here with my friend recently on their recommendation and I was blown away by how delicious my food was! Furnsaj is easily my favorite Mediterranean restaurant in SD right now! They have a variety of plates, pizza, and wraps with plenty of proteins to choose from including Soujouk which you don't see often in restaurants in the area! My friend and I both ordered the Soujouk wrap and I love that they make their own breads and wraps here and you can tell when you take your first bite. They load their wraps and I love that and the flavors just immediately hit you with each bite! They include garlic sauce with your order and it's homemade and is so good and pairs well with the wrap. The soujouk is flavorful, juicy, and has a bit of spice to it! If you are in San Diego, you have to come here for their Mediterranean food, it's so delicious! The service from the staff is great and they are so friendly and helpful with any questions you might have and the ambience is clean and bright.

Yelp
Delicious food made fresh every time. I've tried most items on the menu and everything is so amazingly tasty! Must try Furn Saj & enjoy the exquisite flavors of their delicious Lebanese food!

Yelp
A great place to get authentic Mediterranean/ Lebanese cuisine! The original location is from Los Angeles, so I was happy to see another branch here in San Diego! We have been here multiple times and even brought friends and family here when they visit. It's always fresh, delicious, and they give huge portions! They have everything from breakfast items to lunch to dinner, there's something for everyone! Love that they also offer plant based meats for the vegetarians! I always get their 1) chicken kebab plate with rice, fattoush salad, babaghanoush. It comes with fresh warm pita bread and a delightful garlic paste! This plate can easily feed two people! Their zaatar extra open flatbread is also so yummy, packed with fresh cucumber, tomato, mint, olives. They are always efficient with your order and there is a free small parking lot right outside where you can park for 45 minutes!
google avatar

Hanafi M.

Yelp
Freshly made and quite delicious. I had the sausage and eggs, 8 am on a Thursday and I had the place all to myself, the chef was quick. Decent parking but dirty, sticky to the touch dining tables. I literally moved to two tables before settling on the third. Like I said, early moring so the tables must have been dirty from the previous night...LOLOLOL Food is VERY good, take your stuff to go....LOLOL

Yelp
Back to Funsaj! This time I ate at the restaurant and it was a good experience. There's free parking for 45 minutes and they bring the food to your table. I got a soda because they have lots of special flavors in the fountain drink machine and they were fun to try out! Staff is pretty nice and food came out fast.

Dr Moises R.

Yelp
I was there when they first opened and it was really good. Also, the price was very reasonable. Now it's so so and all their prices went up by 30-40% I really don't understand why. I know things are expensive but come on. I'm sure you guys are still making money and you don't have to charge that much. Will not be back.

Yelp
Delicious smoothie and gluten free vegan bread with olives, tomatoes and tons of fresh mint. The service was pleasant and friendly. The ambiance was bight and welcoming.

Yelp
The food @furnsaj was so yummy it was freshly prepared. Everything was on point so yummy with great potion size. The service was excellent with the employees guiding me on what I wanted to order . The decor has an open feel, nice yet cozy feeling. I will definitely recommend and return when I'm in San Diego....
google avatar

serina c.

Yelp
I normally don't complain about price but when you raise it normally. Omg this was one of my favorite middle eastern spots but they literally raised their prices $6 or more per plate! Even Ruth Chris didn't do that. Usually it's a 2-3 at a time so people aren't shocked

Yelp
The food is A+. The portions are more than enough. The service is A+ and everyone is really nice ambiance is excellent.
google avatar

Yelp
Good fast casual Mediterranean food. I really enjoy the lamb plate with babagonoush. Lamb is flavorful and juicy over a bed of seasoned rice. Portions are large and are best for sharing or multiple meals.

Yelp
This LA area chain finally opened its doors near the beginning of this year. Furnsaj Bakery & Restaurant took over a longtime suite in Hillcrest that saw multiple pizza shops cycle through during the past few years. There is very little onsite parking available for the four neighboring businesses. Your best bet is to find a nearby curbside space and walk over. The inside was brightly lit with hanging light bulbs. There was about the same amount of seating as before, however the kitchen preparation area expanded by taking over the space where customers walked through a line to order their food. The business opens for breakfast at 7 am which is unusual for a Middle Eastern eatery. Flat breads, wraps, plates, and pizzas were the main menu categories. My friend and I stopped in for a weeknight dinner. I selected one of the plates, the #34 Soujouk, which contained Mediterranean beef sausage served on rice with garlic spread and saj bread. Two sides were included so I chose hummus and baba ganoush. The sausage was spicier than I had anticipated. Between the forcemeat and the pungent garlic spread, I worked up a good sweat just by partially eating those two items. The chickpeas of the hummus and the eggplant of the baba ganoush served as buffers when I used them as dips for the bread. Even those had plenty of seasoning which made me quite thirsty by the end of the meal. I ended up giving away a portion of the sausage to my friend who used it as another topping to his flat bread. Flavor was not lacking in the Lebanese cuisine here. The trick is to find the right balance of courses to fit your palate. The worker who staffed the register kindly took the time to answer our questions about the menu. For the value and quality of the food we tried, I gave the dining experience at Furnsaj Bakery & Restaurant a four star rating.

Yelp
This place was good. What an extensive menu. I was debating between two of their cheese breads and the cashier recommended the cheese Boreg and wow it didn't disappoint. They definetly didn't go cheap with the amount of cheese they used and for under $7 what a deal. My friend got a gyro platter and wow what a lot of food. Good flavor and crispy fries!!! The tziki sauce was thinner than most places but good. The hummus was delicious. Boyfriend got the lahme b'ajine and the bread was good and had good seasoning and flavor. Service was fast and friendly and spacious inside. I'd be back for sure. Try it out you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Ever eat somewhere and it just feels like home? That's what this place is to me. I've been to three locations, and it seems like the owner is at every single one. It's almost embarrassing that no matter which one I go to, he recognizes me! Aside from the friendly atmosphere, the food here is ridiculously amazing! This is my ultimate comfort food. My absolute favs: Zatar Extra Open, Kafta with Cheese, and the Beef Shawarma Plate.
google avatar

SD G.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place. I love to see local restaurants not just chains all over San Diego. But this dish was just not tasty at all. The beef was not bad, but everything else was so bland. The hummus has a little bit of a garlic taste but that's it! The baba ganoush has no flavor, and no taste; It was worse than the hummus. It came with a large flour tortilla instead of a Nan bread!
google avatar

Melissa A.

Yelp
First time here as a couple of people I know said I should at least try it. Went in a little after 1pm on a Tuesday. Only one other person in there eating. I ordered a chicken plate with both my sides to be Greek salad as their menu shows. Manager said they don't have Greek Salad but could make me one by adding Feta cheese to it. Failed to mention that he would be adding $1.50 to my order because his restaurant doesn't serve Greek salad anymore but I guess that's my fault so I have to pay extra. That fine, I won't return. It's too expensive for my liking when Luna Grill across the street is less expensive.
google avatar

Arnold T.

Yelp
For casual dining, it's decently priced for the amount of food you get. The Lahem B'jine is $5. Flat bread with a thin layer of spiced meat. It's good but I liked the one next to NorthPark grocery in Poway much better. The boreg is very very cheesy.... Yum yum The gyros plate has a lot of gyro meat and the entire plate was very filling. The only complaint I have is the tzatziki sauce - it's watery and tasted off like vinegar was added. Located in a small strip mall- parking can be challenging.
google avatar

Vivian T.

Yelp
We ordered one thing from the menu as we were strolling by. My boyfriend likes Lebanese food and I am not too familiar with it so he ordered a chicken shawarma wrap so we can both try. We feel like it was hard to mess it up, sadly it was difficult to enjoy. They were hit with a rush of people and our order took around ~25 minutes. We even got poke from the place in the plaza, went to the bathroom, walked around and the wrap was still not done. Upon unwrapping the shawarma, it looked pretty measly. The chicken was also dry as if they cut the very ends of the meat of the rotisserie. We weren't aware of any sauces we could have used to make this shawarma wrap taste better, but it was our first time and we would be open to any other suggestions in the future.
google avatar

Eman K.

Yelp
Service, food, service, aand ambiance were incredible! The employees knew their menu by heart and had extensive knowledge of the ingredients! We enjoyed the kofta and chicken shawerma sandwiches! It was so good! I can't wait to return and discover more on their menu!
google avatar

Shalini G.

Yelp
friends and I stopped in for a late night dinner. The menu was HUGE! So many things looked so good. i went with standard beef shwarma. ..good benchmark. portion was big and it was tasty. I just wish they had a selection of sauces to add. I felt like it needed something spicy and there was only mexican hot sauce at the tables...hmmm. overall it was good and I would come back to explore more and possibly ask for other sauces.

Yelp
I came and got the #9 Kafta with cheese, Ground beef, chopped onions, parsley, with melted cheese, Basically a ground beef pizza. My friend ordered #34 Soujouk plate. It was a spicy uncased sausage it was very tasty and full of spices, but not chili pepper spicy, but very flavorful. I put a bunch of this yummy sausage all over my Kafta with cheese (pizza) the soujouk plate also came with garlic spread witch was very pungent in a good way. Very strong garlic flavor which I loved! I don't know if this soujouk sausage comes on a pizza but you should order it that way or just the soujouk plate since that also comes with the yummy garlic spread. Over all the service was very friendly, they explained what each item, was. I was told its Lebanese food which is kinda hard to come by and when you do, its not always the best. This was very good and liked it a lot. Being in Hillcrest, parking is always at a premium but I found a metered stall a block away so I basically just had to cross the street. The food was new and adventurous for me and I liked the spice forward approach to the Soujouk sausage. I can't wait to try more stuff from here. Theres also a bunch of vegan options too.

Nadia S.

Yelp
It's not easy to find legit Arabic food. Everything I've tried at Furn Saj has been phenomenal. Fresh, quality ingredients, perfectly seasoned and not over salted. The menu is versatile as well with plenty of vegetarian options. Service is always excellent in addition to the amazing food. Always a treat and always hit them up when I am in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
We picked up a fantastic breakfast today! We tried Adjarski with cheese and eggs--such wonderful bread and cheesiness! Next we had the Saroukh Boat with chicken schwarma. Though the chicken was great next time I will have this plain. The Tabouleh Salad is fresh and excellent! A woman recommended the Kashkura meet pie with pine nuts, which was fantastic! Next time I will get more of these. I also had the cheese boreg, which is fantastic!!! Service was great. Coming for breakfast is a bonus because no problem with parking!!! Next time I will be ste to try some kabobs and labneh with honey!
google avatar

Brad N.

Yelp
Awesome Lebanese restaurant. Order and pay at counter with large menu options. Food will be brought to your table if eating in. Staff is friendly and quick to strike up a conversation. I had #24 a beef sausage wrap, cheese pastry, lemon lift tea, and had an Arabic coffee to go. When we got our food the wrap is cut in half and wrapped. The halves were so big I had to check my receipt to be sure I didn't order two #24's. Only one. Holy moly was it big and filling. Only able to eat half and took the 2nd half home. 1st time to Arabic coffee, and wow it was strong, but gooooooood. The restaurant's beans are imported. There is an earthy spice that adds a pow to the taste. Must do this again. Menu for those still reading offer a variety of moods and choices and breakfast to lunch/dinner to desserts. There are flat bread options like a pizza, wraps like the #24 I had, pastries with meat, cheese or vegan options. Everything is made hot and fresh. There is an LA sister store and will be sure to keep an eye out for either as they are worth a return. If it a 1st time for a Lebanese style meal this is the place to try it. Stop reading and enjoy.

Yelp
Tried this new Mediterranean restaurant in Hillcrest! We got a plate of chicken shawarma and chicken tika with salad and baba ghanoush. All that food was for about $17 and they give you a lot. The food was good, but I thought it could've been a little bit more flavorful. I will try it again as the customer service was great and maybe today was just an off day. Make sure to ask for the garlic sauce that make the food better but you have to ask for it. Parking was easy as they have a parking lot but it's not too large. This restaurant is right on the corner of University and 4th Avenue so it can get quite busy here. We got lucky and found a space right away.
google avatar

Angela M.

Yelp
Amazing Lebanese cuisine in the heart of Hillcrest. Their beef shawarma is fantastic and their portions are beyond generous. The shawarma is flavorful and moist, unlike other chain shawarma places that makes the meat super dry. The owner is very kind and would check on each table to make sure we are enjoying his food and experience. The restaurant is spacious and not too loud, tables are well spaced from each other. Parking can be tricky since it's street metered parking only.
google avatar

Yelp
Metered parking, fast service, affordable, friendly staff, great food! FurnSaj is one of my favorite regular spots in Hillcrest. They have many veggie options and variety! The food is high quality and a great value.

Yelp
This place is terrific. They sure bring the flavors, especially with the Saroukh Boat which is a "Vegetarian boat shaped mix of cheese, onion and parsley topped with a sprinkle of sesame seed" (Furn Saj, 2023) The boat is a open made form a house baked Lebanese bread for $9.99. The vessel or the bread was terrific. They make great bread here for sure. The mix of white cheese which included feta worked well together and were quite tasty. The feta added a touch of saltiness. The finely minced onions and parsley topped with sesame seeds were great. They were places with the cheese. So good I tell you. I had a hot black to with my meal. I look forward to returning to try different things. They offer a great variety of items on the menu. Emily who brought my food to me was super nice. There's inside and outside seating.

Yelp
Half chicken shawarma/half lamb gyro plate $17: this was amazing. I love the crunchiness of the Shawarma and I like the flavors of the lamb. This plate is huge!! It can def feed 2 people. I got sides of babaganoush & hummus, which were yummy. Baklava $6: 3 pieces of delicious baklava was perfect after my meal. Definitely coming back to try more food items. Free parking, but very small lot.
google avatar

Jennifer S.

Yelp
The food is always amazing, especially the plates and the gyros, the portions are bigger than the average and the prices are a little lower than the average as well which makes this place a GO-TO Has options for almost everyone from Vegan to really tasty meats. The staff here are really kind, and the place is clean including the restrooms which have a code to get in. I specially recommend the cheese empanadas (well it looks like an empanada) The picture is for a beef shawarma plate, with a plate and an appetizer eats 2

Yelp
I have been looking at the menu for months and finally stopped In for lunch. After ordering the falafel wrap and lahme bajine im sad I waited so long to try. Flavors are absolutely delicious. Will be back (soon)

Yelp
Everything was so good and fresh here! Seriously my favorite Mediterranean place in SD!

Yelp
Great spot in a bustling Hillcrest location. Expansive menu featuring shawarma, falafel, wraps, salads, flat breads, and various side dishes and desserts. The rice pudding looked great and I had to talk myself out of the extra calories. Chicken shawarma (3.5/5) was a mix of mostly dark meat and some white meat; just personal preference toward white meat only. Falafel plate (5/5) massive serving of falafel that were cooked to order and piping hot out the fryer. Side salads are cutely served in a lettuce nest. Fattoush (5/5) with tons of fresh herbs and tangy dressing. House salad (5/5) dressing very lemony and tangy deliciousness. Grape leaves (4/5) fresh and simple but would love them served with lemon wedges and olive oil. Baba ganoush (5/5) tangy and fresh and perfect amount of garlic aka lots! Be sure to ask for a side of garlic paste (toum) for your meal as well. Inside space with ample seating options, workers were cleaning often during our visit. Glad to see they are putting the left behind pizza oven from when this used to be Project Pie.

Yelp
Solid fusion restaurant crossing pizza with middle eastern cuisine...not bad. Restaurant is always clean, food is fresh, and the dishes are up fast. No hesitation in recommending this place if you're in the area.

Yelp
I was excited to hear of this new Lebanese/Mediterranean spot in San Diego. The flavors aren't as authentic and traditional in flavor as I was hoping, but it's still a pretty good Lebanese food fix. Staff has been nice every visit. They have a huge menu with lots to try - my favorite so far has been the fatayer/spinach pies. Tried the tabbouleh but was dissapointed - it was dry and lacked lemon and bulgur. Plate portions are large! The saj bread that came with it and the wraps seemed more like a tortilla though. Excited to return and try all their mana'ish options!

Yelp
This a regular spot for me. Love everything here. My go to mana'ish are the cheese combo w/ olives, and the sujo one, zaatar with cheese, egg and cheese, lahmbajeen, literally any of them truly are all so good. One of my favorite Desserts is the ashta with the strawberry and honey, but it's gone up so much in price than a few months ago I can't justify the price anymore But I'll always still come in for the manaaish, they're authentic and tasty!

Yelp
First time visiting this eatery. Went during lunch hour on a weekend. Location-easy to find but a challenge to find parking. There is a small parking lot or several meter parking on the streets. Resturant has limited outdoor seating and indoors, have multiple table and chairs. I like the easy to read menu with photos of the items. For me, it's not your typical Luna Grill. I had heard about this place from other Arabic people and boast how good their food is. And they were right. I had a fattoush salad (small), a large would be plenty to share for 2. My friend, if you wanna try something different from a Greek Salad, this one is a choice you ought to consider. The pieces of khubz gives the salad the crunch. A change from croutons. I also ordered the a Kafta Beef. It was incredibly tasty. The bread was crunchy and soft. I am not a pickle lover but it mixed well with the ground beef, tomatoes and onions. Oh boy, it was large! I had to take it home. It was great as leftovers. We also ordered the egg & cheese flat bread. Omg! It was better than a pepperoni pizza. I say that because it looked like a pizza. It was also a large portion size. One word described it-Scrumptious!! The crust was perfectly crunchy, the egg & cheese mix well. You barely taste the egg-it was balanced!! The menu has so many selections, it might take you awhile to choose from. Hope your experience was as good as mind!
