"This Lebanese bakery and restaurant hailed from neighboring San Fernando Valley but has another location in Calabasas that serves the same items that gained the original location a loyal following: heaping plates of some of the best beef or chicken shawarma in the LA area; freshly baked boat-shaped bread saroukh filled with cheese, onion, and parsley; and more." - Fiona Chandra, Virali_Dave

Google
I was looking for a good Mediterranean food spot and luckily this was close by. I tried their chicken kebab plate with half shawarma and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The hummus and eggplant mash were also good, but the garlic sauce was the best. Overall it was a very satisfying and filling lunch. The plate of chicken was huge with lots of chicken which I appreciated and at a fair price for what you get. I’d definitely eat here again and try their other menu items.

Google
Excellent food and friendly service. Freshly made Falafel and Salad with yummy stubborn soda completes a fine meal here. We got the vegetarian options and Sat outside to enjoy our lunch.

I recently visited a Mediterranean restaurant and had a great experience. The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was fresh and flavorful — I especially enjoyed wrap. Everything was well-seasoned and served promptly. Portions were generous for the price. Whether you’re craving something light or hearty, this place has a solid menu. I’d definitely come back!

Google
The food portions are exceptional. The chicken shawarma plate can feed two. I took half home for dinner. Lots of unique fountain soda options too! Service is warm and inviting.

Google
FurnSaj is REALLY good - I have been to many different Mediterranean and Middle-Eastern restaurants and this place is one of my favorites. It is more expensive than some other similar places, but I think that’s due to the location - considering it’s right next to Erewhon and right near Calabasas, it’s bound to be pricier. But the great thing about it is the food is of really good quality! They literally don’t miss…no matter what type of meat you get, everything is consistently good. The seasonings are perfect!! It is so flavorful!! Everything comes out super fast and the portions are MASSIVE! In reality, you can order one plate and split it between two people for lunch (which would make the price much more reasonable) - I would highly recommend doing half and half plate of the lamb gyro and the soujouk meat. Get a side of the hummus, warm pita bread and some fattoush salad, and you have yourself an awesome meal! I have yet to try the other things on their menu like the pizzas, flatbreads and smoothies, but based off other reviews, it seems like these items would be great options as well. As I said, it’s hard to go wrong with your order here! If you’re in the mood for Mediterranean or Middle-Eastern food in this area, look no further than FurnSaj! 😁

Google
The food was extremely cold, not fresh, and they have risen their prices way more. That doesn’t make any sense.

Google
Always good food with great staff helping with your order. Have gone a few more times since my first review and I still really like this place. My new go to order is the salad bowls. Gotta try them!

Google
raw, spoiled, rotten food. the customer service was terrible. they refused to refund us and said they have a serious no refund policy (which isn't written anywhere). they offered to remake my food but i refused because my friends beef was spoiled which only told me that they aren't using fresh ingredients. Definitely expired food. i took one bite of my food and tasted raw dough that had hint of bitterness that was just a sign that if i continued, i would get food poisoning. everything was dirty inside (like the lemonade dispenser). my soda also had weird black stuff in it. paid $20 for bad food and horrible service. not the right place to get mediterranean food.

Marko C.

Yelp
Came here with about 15 friends for lunch. Everyone else seemed to have enjoyed their food. I got the beef shawarma plate. I was first in line (of about 15 of us) to order my food, but my dish came out last. I waited about 40 minutes for my food. Don't know if it was sitting under the warmer for a long time waiting to be delivered to our table, but the beef was dry, oily, and overcooked. I took two bites and asked for a to go container. I also got the mint yogurt drink. Refreshing.

Gohar K.

Yelp
Got some to go food for the family while in the area. Always flavorful and delicious. Got beef kyafta wraps and the kids loved it. Called and placed an order and it was ready within 15 minutes. Great customer service as well. Done in is nice here. Great patio area.

Dan S.

Yelp
1 - I've been going to the Granada Hills location for years, but for some reason hadn't tried the Calabasas location. 2 - I always have gyro or shawarma, but have never tried any of their other dishes. So, I went to the Calabasas location and tried their Adjarski Mana'ish. Wow! It was delicious. Glad I added Soujouk as it went well with the eggs, cheese, and crust and added a nice savory touch

Jorge M.

Yelp
Really good food just a bit pricey! Getting into middle eastern food and this spot def is better then another place around the corner

Tiffany T.

Yelp
The food here is amazing! We stumbled across one of their other locations years ago and didn't realize this was so close to home! I'm in love with the lamb wrap and the cheese boat sunny side up. So good! Service is delightful as well. We can't wait to come back!

John C.

Yelp
We love our local FurnSaj and want to say thank you for the consistently delicious and nourishing shawarma and kabobs we always seem to order. Service is always amazing and staff know us by name and make us feel like family when we stop in. Today we were absolutely blown away by the quality and value we received. I've also eaten at the Granada Hills branch and find the same quality and consistency. I wish I could give more stars. So grateful this establishment is in our community. Just remember, quality like this takes time and if they're busy you might have to wait. I've always found it to be well worth the wait.

Calvin M.

Yelp
Fantastic authentic and fresh Lebanese food that anyone will enjoy. It's even better than their Granada Hills location.

Steph C.

Yelp
Just got my food. I ordered the chicken plate with tabbouleh. I only ended up eating the warm tabbouleh.....the chicken was absolutely terrible! No flavor, no salt, no nothing. I paid for a chicken plate! Rip off!

Juliet A.

Yelp
The food was great portions and the service was excellent. It should be packed and I like the chill environment and music.

Lilly S.

Yelp
The food is authentic and so are the people. I have been there three times and I cannot stop eating the Kibbe, which is probably almost as good as my father-in-law used to make, may he RIP. The rest of the food is delicious too, we have had the chicken Shawarma, the beef, Shawarma and various other dishes and the accoutrements. All delicious and will keep returning to sample everything on the menu.

Mina M.

Yelp
If you're looking for a chill lunch/dinner that is authentic middle eastern then I definitely recommend you going there! The food is outstanding, no complaints on it at all. Didn't take long at all. The pizzas were cooked perfectly. The cheese melts in your mouth omg! The sandwich was rich, even tho it was packed it was still somehow holding itself together. The customer service was great. Made sure that we were all taken care of everything. The ambiance is calm and clean even the restroom. Staff works hard there. Overall great visit, definitely recommend going there to try it out you'll not be disappointed as they have too many options ( even great vegan options)

Yelp
Worst customer service ever. Saturday morning Food was ordered by calling in at 8:35 am. Was told, will be ready by 9:30 am to 9:40 am. Arrived at 9:30 am. I was told most our order was ready and packed but waiting on few more. Needed few more minutes. Well at 10:15 still waiting Finally at 10:20 am I picked up our order. Most of the food was already cold. This restaurant needs to hire more workers. Only 2 people working morning shift. With the popularity of this restaurant, they need more staff. Bad management.

Abdull B.

Yelp
I'm very frustrated with this place I placed my order at 12 it is now 2pm it's been well over two hours. The lady I. The front is still taking orders while she's giving the same person that order within 10 minutes. She just told me it's going to be another 20 minutes. Manager threw in some baklava on the house. I have guests waiting outside my house. Completely horrible management. I had to tell her to stop working on everyone's order except mine. Very bad experience. I really would like the owner to messege me or call

Rita S.

Yelp
Let me preface this by saying we have been a loyal customer to this specific location for a long time. We live 5 minutes from the Granada Hills location but we come to this one specifically for the outdoor seating. Our to-go order has always been spicy cheese saroukh and every time it's made with Aleppo pepper powder. However, today they put tabasco/cholula instead of the pepper powder and if you know anything about flavors, you already know how disgusting the vinegary flavor of those sauces will taste with middle eastern cheeses. And to make it worse, they charged for the couple drops of the cheap sauce... We raised our concerns to the staff and the response we got was "we cannot do anything about it". Basically, deal with it. We returned the items to them and left the store in complete shock as to the kind of customer service we were provided. As a long time loyal customer, I hate to see this place decline in quality over the years, but I have to agree with the previews reviews. Unfortunately, we will no longer be supporting this business.

Rachel C.

Yelp
Delicious food and generous portions. I really enjoy eating here when I have a craving for some gyro.

Charlzetta W.

Yelp
Plenty of seating indoor and outdoor patio seating. There's even one booth inside that's of in a cubby corner by itself for a little casual intimate date night. The food was really good and comforting but the best thing I ate was the RICE PUDDING! It tastes homemade and almost as good as my mom's. The cashier was super friendly and helpful. I ordered a combo meat sinner of chicken and beef. It was Plentiful ad decent. I had leftovers for two more meals.

Marsella H.

Yelp
Got half chicken half lamb gyro plate with hummus. The meat is soooo good and flavorful, and there's delicious rice underneath which makes it so filling, definitely enough to split with another person. We love this place!

Roger B.

Yelp
Delicious food. I've been to their other location in Granada Hills a few times but just discovered the Calabasas location today. Great gyros and pizzas with high quality meats and flavorful sauces. Large portions, one wrap is easily enough for two. Also, make sure you try the Adjarski, it's amazing anytime of the day. I prefer it with Sunny side up eggs so you can dip the crust in the cheesy egg yoke goodness. On top of great food the staff is very friendly and helpful. Dining room is clean with plenty of space. 5 stars all the way.

Bassam H.

Yelp
Delicious and clean Mrs Maya is the best and her helpers theyare wonderful And they are very fast and very well considering specially with the people needs

Yelp
Watching the food network and got a hankering for falafel...and I checked Yelp before I headed out! For a quiet, clean, upscale and casual experience with AMAZING food...check out FurnSaj! I opted for the vegan chicken plate with a double side of fattoush salad. (You get your choice of two sides and there are a lot of options)! Note: The Garlic paste is so crazy good, I may have to get a large container! It was enormous and enough for two people!!! So since it was myself I get leftovers lol! YAY! I ordered a side of falafel to go and OMG I'm officially hooked on these adorable, hearty sized, delicious "donut" falafels! Perfectly cooked with amazing textures of crunch and soft! A falafel lovers dream! I usually get water with my meals but they had some enticing drink choices and I opted for the rose with date syrup. So refreshing on an almost 103 degree summer day! The service was amazing and you already know I'm going back to try a few more things that grabbed my attention! Thank you FurnSaj! I'll see you soon!

TY H.

Yelp
Huge portions, spacious parking lot, and nice staff. I had the chicken shawarma plate with hummus and it comes with rice, toum (garlic sauce), and pita. It was $16 and I saved the other half for the next day. Very filling and delicious.

Sarah B.

Yelp
Craving some Mediterranean food, I went to trusty Yelp for a recommendation. FurnSaj Bakery and Restaurant did not disappoint! Wonderful customer service and a beautiful patio with views made this experience even better! Great tasting, fresh made to order Lebanese style food located in Calabasas. We wanted to sample a few items so we ordered a chicken kabob plate and chose fries and hummus for the two sides. We had to try one of their flatbreads so we went with the cheese melt, amazing! Also added a chicken shawarma wrap (huge). Everything was great. The fries were spiced well and cooked to perfection, and the chicken was juicy and delicious. The hummus was good, but I have had better. The pita was so light and very different from other pita I have tried, so good. Carb heaven. They know what they are doing with those flatbreads! A great choice for quality Mediterranean food. Portions are large and we had enough for later. Next time we plan to try the falafels.

Yelp
This has become my favorite restaurant for the price. Best deal for the quality of the food that I've had in years. Keep in mind the prices are pretty low, so factor that in to the rating. The food is better than the price, but not going to be your last meal on earth. What I come here for is the flat breads. We used to get the "basic" one with Zataar, cucs, olives, mint and a nice healthy dose of Zataar spice. You could had lebnah to half of it, which is well worth it. Better lebnah here than what we get at our local farmers market and you can buy some for home here as well. I've had the keshik, which I really like. Kind of cheesier than the others, but I still like it. I really like the spice that comes on the olive slice. My kids like both of those a lot. Neither of us like the vegan cheese or the "fake" meat ones, but those wouldn't be our style anyhow. Also like the breakfast wrap. Solid. Service has been super phenomenal. Feels pretty family owned.

Kevin U.

Yelp
The food at this location is much better than their Granada hills location. My friends and I would come here a couple times a month but have decided to limit to once a few months due to the recent price surge. Inflation, go figure. Their wraps used to be $11 now $17 after they've updated the pricing. Service was decent. Parking can be a bit difficult especially during lunch time as the center gets busy. Overall pretty decent.

Pardees F.

Yelp
FurnSaj is sooooo good!! Online ordering is so easy and tells you exactly when your order will be ready. I highly recommend the Adjarski (boat shaped bread and cheese with 2 eggs) and the Zaatar mana'ish, which is basically a flat bread with Zaatar on top. You can make the Zaatar mana'ish into a wrap with fresh veggies like cucumber, basil, tomato, and olives. It's so good!! I've never had this food before so I'm really glad I went today! Also, in terms of prices, for two items it was $17 and it could definitely feed two people. I have lots of leftovers. I will keep coming here!! Lots of parking in the lot too.

Griffin G.

Yelp
FurnSaj has amazing vegan options! Very large portions, extremely fresh, and super authentic flavors. The falafel wrap, falafel pie, fries, and the vegan ready made stuff is all delicious! They said they source a lot of their ingredients from Lebanon, and you can really taste the authenticity. I also love their hummus and garlic sauce. They are all super friendly and the restaurant is very clean with easy and free parking. It is also conveniently located off the 101 of Lost Hills Road.

Kaitlyn G.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing. We paid $75 for 3 plates, but there was definitely $75 worth of food. The lamb was super soft and juicy, the chicken and steak shawarma was crispy, and eat plate comes piles high with rice, meat, and two other sides. All the employees were friendly! There's only one table inside, but there's a little area outside with plenty of seating

J S.

Yelp
It is sad to see a good place going downhill. First they increased their prices tremendously, somewhere between 25 up to 70% on some items. And a lot of things got worse especially the Fattoush salad. I'm not sure if they change the cook or the management but definitely the place is going downhill fast.

Dina L.

Yelp
So incredibly fresh and delicious!!! I make a special trip from Ventura to Calabasas just for FurnSaj. I love this place for many reasons: They make all their bread in-house and it is always made to order (this includes their pita bread), their portions are very generous, and the staff is always so warm and friendly!! I agree with other reviewers who mentioned that Zankou can't touch this place :P My favorite things to order here are the Beef Shawarma Wrap & the Soujouk and Cheese mini Pies!!! Omg, soooo much flavor in every bite!!! They come out HOT with the perfect amount of cheese and soujouk (sausage). I die for these perfect pockets of stuffed dough. If you like your food spicy, I highly recommend dipping these pies in the special red pepper blend they make. This place is 10/10 and I cannot recommend enough!! I cannot wait to try everything else from their menu. SIDE NOTE: I wish they served Kunafeh for dessert. With how fresh their bread and cheese pies are, I bet they'd be to die for!!! Please make all my dessert dreams come true FurnSaj lol!!

Johnny B.

Yelp
Felt good to eat a sandwhich that reminded me of Lebanon. Bread made on the saj is such a game changer, chicken was great and moist. So much flavor in the sandwhich! Will forsure be a stop when im in the area. Also, they put fries in the sandwhiches, no body does this in the states but thats the real lebanese street sandwhich right there. The sandwhiches are large! One sandwhich is sharable so split it and try something else :)

Shanaya P.

Yelp
Delicious, great price, good quality, and friendly staff. It's a casual place where you order and get a number. I would say their flavors are more on the lemoni sour side so if that's something you're picky on make sure to let them know! I loved my lamp gyro wrap, fatoush, and the pizza looking bread with meat - all delicious!

Shelli S.

Yelp
We love FurnSaj. The people are warm, the portions are generous, and the food is always fresh, well seasoned and delicious. They are our go to when we have a house full of 20-somethings to feed.

Justine J.

Yelp
Food is always amazing, we enjoy DoorDashing the gyros Always a great meal from furnsaj

Otia R.

Yelp
The food is really good but really expensive. Went here the other day and dropped $20 just on a single lunch item.

Victoria Z.

Yelp
Okay so we just ate here & FurnSaj definitely lives up to the ratings! Everything was so delicious & perfect!!! I've been searching for good Lebanese food nearby & honestly ever since moving to Cali like 12 years ago there are few & far between. Even though I'm not Lebanese I have high standards because of my favorite restaurant from home. Usually rice is the number one thing that is always a bummer but finally a place with the perfect delicious soft bouncy rice & not that dry skinny rice a lot of Mediterranean place serve. The tabbouleh, hummus & tahini are all perfect. The falafel was the best too!! And my husband loved his chicken schwarma which was tasty & not so dry. Also love the thin type of pita they serve not those small thick dry ones. The only thing we didn't love was a fried beef filled ball (sorry I forget the name) but the little cheese filled pastry was great. Can't wait to come back & try more things. The za'at flatbread looks amazing. Also appreciate that the portions are generous! We are happy & stuffed with plenty of leftovers :)

Vee H.

Yelp
I wanted to love this place bc the ordering was easy, the place is clean, the staff is friendly but the food was just ok. I had the beef shawarma, sojouk, and falafel saj sandwiches. What brought me here was a hankering for an authentic saj bread wrap and that was super underwhelming. The ingredients within the wraps were fresh & delicious. The "saj" wrap that wrapped it all, not so much. I realize for most people, "saj" doesn't trigger the most scrumptious freshly made thin bread dough with a particular consistency & flavor. But when you've got it right there in your restaurant's name, one would think it hints at something in which you specialize. And as I waited for my food I was peaking all over to see where, in fact, was the saj that was being used to make it but if one did exist it was hidden beyond where they were preparing the food.

Anne B.

Yelp
Convenient location, friendly staff and great food served quickly...what more can you ask for? Almost everything on the menu is enough for two to share! The lamb Gyro plate is amazing. The meat is grilled to perfection giving it a slight crisp yet juicy meat. The grilled chicken wrap is also delicious...add some tapatio for a little spice and it's perfect! Just give them a try!

Lulu M.

Yelp
Loved the food , the portions were large but it's a bit pricey in comparison with the other bakeries

Al O.

Yelp
Today we had bad experience with one item on the menu (Taboulla). It wasn't good, the tomato was not fresh tasted strange. Service was slow due to lack of employees and luckily they were not busy. The restaurant is really nice and has good food and ambience.

Nathan G.

Yelp
AMAZING! 4 different blocks of meat to shave off for plates & wraps! Glass of wine has great presentation with complimentary bowl of fresh nuts. Let's not forget, the sweet younger brunette lady gave expectational service Definitely bookmarking this for next visit!

Steve K.

Yelp
They have a very diverse menu. My first time at this restaurant. I had the lamb plate with pita, babaganoush, salad and rice. The lamb was nicely seasoned and the portions were good. Plenty of seating, service timely. A nice place for lunch or dinner. I plan on returning to try other dishes.

Steve C.

Yelp
I din't leave many reviews, but when I do it's for exceptional and the completer opposite experiences. Been to this and the Granada Hills locations. Was recently at the Calabasas location. Brought a friend with me and we are both Mediterranean food lovers. Went in at about 8PM pretty empty. I ordered a Chicken Shawarma plate. Took around 35 minutes to bring out. I kept asking what's going on and kept getting we're working on it. The goal was not to eat close to 9PM. I then messaged through their website my experience, but for over a week, no response. Just called the location to see if their was a corporate #, there is none and get the same attitude, take it or leave and not caring cause sometimes it takes a long time to make. When a business gets feedback, they should count their lucky stars as we, the customers who care are their eyes and ears. Obviously they don't care. I did refer many people and will tell them all of my experience and not to support a business that could care less. Too many places that do care and too bad as it seems this is a chain that has probably seen better days and are not in control of the experience.

Rose M.

Yelp
I got the recommended mini spinach pies and the falafel plate. The tabbouleh side salad was good, a little oily but nice to eat with falafels which were good. The lettuce it was wrapped in was a little floppy. Fries were good. The spinach pies were unfortunately extremely salty and i could only eat half of one. They were not very warm or fresh and I'm guessing maybe frozen and reheated. Overall good, I'd possibly give it another try.

Charlene D.

Yelp
SO. MUCH. FOOD. As you can see from the photo, the portions here are GENEROUS! The food is fresh and the falafel was piping hot and tasty! The salad was light and refreshing and the kibbeh was amazing as was the hummus! The bread was hot but got a bit crumbly after it cooled down and the pickles and turnips weren't as fresh as I would have liked. Overall a 9.5/10! I'll definitely be returning to try more of the menu! I ordered the falafel plate with hummus and salad (comes with bread, and pickles and turnips if you ask) and kibbeh.

Elisa H.

Yelp
It was simply by happenstance that I came across this wonderful place. Was driving by, saw their sign and couldn't resist. I learned this is a family owned and operated business that has been in this location for 4 months. These folks aren't new to this business, in fact they have a location in Granada Hills and San Dimas. This location however, has a wonderful patio for outdoor dining. Employees were masked when I entered and the gentleman making the pies was masked and gloved. Super friendly place, spinach pies are delicious and come in three sizes. Their menu is varied and extensive as part of their family is vegan and half is not. I look forward to sampling other menu items soon and encourage you to do the same. Parking is free in the large lot in front.

Reveka G.

Yelp
Recently, I had a small catering order fora special event and they handled it perfectly. Thank you!!!

Christina M.

Yelp
On our way from LA to Santa Barbara and stopped off the 101 for some fast-casual. We needed vegetarian and meat friendly. We came upon this gem. Walked up and ordered from a huge but easy menu. Ordered Zataar with Labneh, falafel plate and lamb gyro plate - all delicious and big portions. Even my husband could not finish his food. Tasty food, good service with helpful food hints and a nice patio area to eat this delicious food. Haven't had good Mediterranean since moving from the East Coast back to my home state of CA. Right next to Pepperdine Univ. Oh and they have beer & wine but also fresh juices and lemonade - go for it!

Lucho V.

Yelp
Great food with tons of flavor. They definitely don't skim on servings. I hit enough food to feed two people. Loved their hummus and salad. Well seasoned salad and veggies. The hummus is fresh and not greasy. The service was fast and friendly. I can't to go back and try more items.

Yasmin A.

Yelp
FurnSaj is a new eatery located in a shopping center right off the 101 at Lost Hills. They are a great Mediterranean option if you are around the area. Their portions are big and their food is fresh! We ordered 1) chicken kabob plate: it comes with rice and salad and the potion is great for two people. 2) hummus: creamy and flavorful and served with a thin pita bread. 3) chicken gyro wrap: packed with flavor and tahini sauce this was perfect bite for lunch (I probably would skip the pickles next time) 4) French fries: their seasoned French fries are perfectly crisp and seasoned. They also have a soda machine with different types of more natural sodas. Not your typical ones and a choice of flavored lemonades. There is plenty of seating inside and some outside (I don't think it was shaded though). Stop by to check it out!
