Our family of 3, husband, wife, and 12-year old enjoyed several Fury adventures:
Glass Bottom Boat Tour Reef Encounter-For starters, the crew was amazing! You board the boat and sale about 6 miles out to the reef. The boat ride out was relaxing, but hold on for rough waters. You can get up and go outside during the ride out or stay inside. It's hard to walk about due to the choppiness and especially if you don't have good balance or are not used to riding on a boat like that.
The boat is enclosed with two viewing areas where most people could huddle around to see. The boat is also air conditioned and sells snacks and drinks.
If you get sea sick or motion sickness, please plan ahead to help yourself. Half the people on our trip were nauseated and sat around with their puke bags. Looking down for 30-45 minutes at the reef and then trying to look away at something else doesn't always feel nice. Additionally, hanging outside and then trying to come back inside can bring this on as well.
Overall, this was a good experience. Our daughter really enjoyed it the most. Don't forget to bring cash to tip your crew when you're done!
Dolphin Sight-seeing and Snorkeling-Again, the crew of 2 were amazing! We did see some dolphins frollicking about, but much like whale-watching, you have to be constantly watching or you'll miss them. You mostly see the fins of the dolphins as they go in and out of the water. I suppose it depends on what they're doing, but if you're looking for some close-up action or interaction with dolphins, this is definitely hit or miss. There are also several other dolphin sight-seeing boats out at the same time. They all work together to help each other find dolphins for folks to view.
Then you go a few miles out to the reef where you're set-up for snorkeling. My husband and I were not interested in snorkeling, but our daughter was. The snorkel/dive instructor was awesome with everyone. Many people had never snorkeled and it's a snorkeling adventure for all types of swimmers....non-swimmers to advanced.
The guide helped teach out daughter how to use the mask, breathing out of your mouth only, all the things....by the end, she had it down and could've stayed out longer. I'm not sure what she saw....coral and sponges for sure, but not sure about fish. Once back on the boat, be prepared to feel sticky and gross with your salt water suits and the chilly ride back to shore. Bring towels! They do have wet suits for purchase at $15 per person if you'd like to be warmer in the water.
They offer complimentary beer, mimosas and sodas on the way back. Again, don't forget to bring cash to tip the crew! However, they take other forms of payment for tipping and for purchasing the rental of the wet suit.
Parasailing-my daughter and I did the parasailing. The crew was awesome again! Very knowledgable and accomodating. The experience was everything you would expect as you read about the experience. If you've never done this, I would recommend trying it. It's relaxing and refreshing to do the experience once you get past the initials angst of doing it. Safety is their priority and we were well-cared for. Again, please bring cash to tip your crew!
Overall, Fury Adventures were all great experiences and if you're into water activities, we would recommend you try some of them!
