"Duck into an old Edmonton repair shop, wander past piles of broken electronics and other ephemera, then swing open a vending machine to enter Fu’s Repair Shop. First and foremost, you’re here for the drinks. They’re quirky and creative — negronis are seasoned with Chinese five spice, martinis are infused with umami, and crisp lagers are topped with an icy soju slushie. Once you have a drink in hand, dig into the dim sum menu, which is full of highly snackable plates like fluffy milk buns with miso-gochujang butter, brown butter–slicked cheung fun, and siu mai topped with a crunch of truffle sesame and chicharrones. If you have the foresight, make a reservation — the line crawls further down the block as the evening goes on.
