Rolls here are just as cheap ($7-$8) as any hole in the wall Brooklyn sushi joint but Fushimi has Vegas decor, a mirrored tunnel to a Taj Majal style bathroom situation, and a really good lunch special ($21 for 5 couses) during the week.

I've probably eaten here the most out of any restaurant in Williamsburg, actually. Not sure what that says about me.

Went here for dinner and definitely recommend. Have already told several people about my positive experience. Servers Susanto and Coco were fantastic, very attentive, always had the water glass full, and very pleasant. Food was outstanding - had rock shrimp, petit filet, lobster roll, and Parmesan crusted chicken. Can’t wait to dine here again.

This was our third visit to Fushimi because WOW the food always impresses! The atmosphere is eclectic, most of the space is a sit down restaurant but the music, laser lights, and front bar section all suggest dance club. Ultimately you gloss over it because the food is incredible and the staff is always so friendly and attentive. The Chutoro Crispy Rice w/caviar appetizer was unique: the rich Chu toro flavor, jalapeño spice, the salty pop of the caviar, and the crunch of the crispy rice all came together so nicely. The Sex on the Beach roll had a creamy citrus lightness to it that complemented the crunchy shrimp tempura so wonderfully. The Chu Toro nigiri is the stuff of dreams: the meat is a tender cloud of delectable bliss. The Molten Cake w/red velvet ice cream is a decadent finish to all of it. Fushimi is a favorite of ours, we’ll continue to come back! Highlights: All of it really — Chu Toro nigiri (an absolute must), Chutoro Crispy Rice w/caviar, Sex on the Beach roll, Surf & Turf roll, molten chocolate cake Date visited: 1/11/25

My server was a guy named Steven, it was my 18th birthday so i came here to celebrate it. The food was as good as the photos looked and the customer service was amazing! A waiter named Steven is possibly one of the nicest people I’ve met by far and was our waiter for the night! 10/10 place would go again!

Google
It is hard to find the place that has Seafood Bisque Soup and sushi at the same place. I order delivery this time. In the past if I have a chance to go out I always go to eat at the restaurant but during busy weekday, it is more convenient for me to just order out. Food came quickly and delicious.

Had a great experience at Fushimi in Brooklyn! The service was good, the ambiance was lovely, and the food was really enjoyable. Would definitely go back!

Google
I have no complaints about this place. I went on a Thursday evening and Saturday afternoon and I was able to be seated immediately both times. It’s clean and the staff is super friendly and attentive. The drinks are really good and the food is great Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. It’s not crowded and I believe it’s because how attentive their staff is. They don’t have you waiting 15 minutes just to bring you sauce so we were able to dine and leave. Pricing was also very reasonable and I much appreciate that. I will be back regularly.

Definitely on the pricey side. The music is a bit overwhelming, but the interior is gorgeous and I love the fact that it's dark inside, makes it more cozy. The wagyu was delicious and the sushis are always fresh.

We always love coming to Fushimi for our sushi date nights! Great food, great (strong) drinks, and great service. Recently had Andy as our server and he was absolutely wonderful—even brought us complimentary post-meal lemon drop shots!

Yelp
I was invited here for a birthday dinner and the staff was nice. Nobody gave me any issues. The host at the front told me exactly where to go. Elaine was our main server and she was super accommodating. I ordered the shrimp teriyaki and a Philadelphia roll. I noticed that one of the shrimp had the waste still inside. I was pretty full from the Philadelphia roll, which was really good, so I didn't mind taking it home. I discard that piece of shrimp but when I ate everything the next morning it was delicious. I didn't pack the teriyaki sauce but it was still good. My friend took some photos in the waiting area and they came out great. The bathrooms were clean and big. The restaurant is beautiful on the inside. I wouldn't have thought that just from the outside. Great place for a date too. I would return. Not too pricey but expect to pay at least $100 for a good meal with wiggle room.

Yelp
- I felt kind of rushed - alright drinks - host wasn't really helpful with recos - good seafood bisque - mozzarella bread is delicious kind of small tho - waiter did not explain omakase - omakase was ok - alright mango cheesecake - good salmon tapas - goat cheese salad was good

Yelp
Fushimi will always have a soft spot in my heart because I chose to celebrate a happy event with family here. Maybe my personal joy made the dinner experience extra memorable or the food was really that good. Everyone loved the seafood bisque here, and honestly, I still think about it from time to time. The crab cake didn't leave as big of a mark on me as the soup, but it was still yummy. The restaurant is really big with a party room and bar in the back. I didn't choose a party room for my event but still enjoyed a good amount of privacy.

Yelp
its cool looking in pics but the hostess disregarded my res request & im waiting an hr past my reservation time. its a special b day night w/my daughter so its disappointing. However, once seated everything was delicious & service impeccable! Id go back.

Yelp
Had a great time at Fushimi. I've been to the one in Bay Ridge and Times Square. Some of the menu is different. However, the food is still amazing! Never had a bad meal at any location.

Yelp
Nice Japanese restaurant with beautiful decor and design. We went during the day time, so we did not experience the full ambiance of the place at night. There are sprawling couch tables, very comfy. The walk to the restrooms takes you through a tunnel, as if going back in time. I definitely appreciate the design. We ordered several items from the regular menu to share, such as the American dream roll, toro roll, summer vegetarian roll and the hamachi kama. I also ordered the miso soup, which was rather bland. The best roll was perhaps the American dream and the toro. The summer vegetarian roll just felt like they rolled up a few pieces of lettuce, 1 piece of asparagus together in rice paper, definitely a little disappointing. I also liked the hamachi kama, which was grilled perfectly. Overall, would like to try this spot at night, I can picture this place getting very crowded and fun.

Yelp
The management team and the servers always provide outstanding service. You never feel unwelcome here, in fact it's like going a family house for dinner in many ways. I feel they go out of their way to make you feel at home, and their food is consistently good and fresh. The ambiance is subdued with nice music playing overhead and it's a great place to bring a date or have a group dinner. Yesterday I saw a group of maybe 30 people come in without reservations and although it took a few mins, they were able to set them all together towards the front of the dining area!!! That was a feat! Their menu is quite big and they also have sushi chefs preparing the fresh sushi. All their sushi taste high grade without any imperfections. They also have great bartenders that make excellent drinks. I would definitely come in during happy hour. You will not regret it. We were a nice group of people and everyone enjoyed the food, service and amenities Fushimi. They are professionals!!

Yelp
Haven't been here in ages but I was craving sushi and he has never been so here we are (trending reason for revisiting lately/ someone else has just never been) the ambiance hadn't changed since I came last and that might not be so great . It looks a little dated/ dusty. The server was nice and so we ordered . I ordered a shared entree with sushi, sashimi and we ordered a signature roll . They're rolls aren't the best flavors honestly / but the sashimi was decent . I asked for the belly and they said I couldn't make requests (thats disappointing considered we were paying. We paired it with a couple shots, a bottle of Dassai and enjoyed our time spent . Now I absolutely have no reason to revisit this place until they get a face lift ,

Yelp
Sadly was served old fish. In our first round of sushi orders each one was no bueno. The worst was the toro roll. Unlike the others slathered in sauces and filled with filler ingredients the toro roll has no filler ingredients just raw fish. Because of this we were actually able to taste the fish. When we waited to inform our server we were promptly fed the line of "it's fresh and bought today" businesses love to shove down customers gullets as if we have no tastebuds and are beyond incompetent as to what fresh raw fish should look like. What's concerning regarding that skit is if they did buy this old fish for a deal it is disgusting and unhealthy to serve it raw. They could have cooked it into a soup or a broth to kill any potential bacteria that may have been growing. Atlas the situation was remediated several minutes later with an agreement to switch it to another roll. At this point I didn't want anymore raw food but the table got another order of "eel". I say "eel" because it (dragon roll) had no meat and barely a sliver of skin was put in (it was mainly rice and old cucumber, for each order). What was shocking in the replacement roll was to learn they had fresh products. The aguacate (avo) was not in its rotting stage (see photo) the cucumbers weren't limp and spewing puddles of water but crisp. On a singular positive note, the cooked food was still on point especially the meat. Perfectly cooked fall apart tenderness paired with an amazing thick sauce and creamy yet crispy mashed potatoes concoctions. Overall fushimi has its good days and bad but this was a horribly horrendous meal. From the bouncy calamari (past the over cooked chewy stage) to the pure vinegar salad dressing and sauce dips. It does appear they struggle to provide quality raw food when it's more packed (imo from all the times I visit less people equals better meals). Which is beyond confusing. Although maybe it's a perfect time to offload old products.

Yelp
Ambiance is very nice and comfortable but dim lighting! Will have you kinda drowsy especially after a few drinks. The sushi and sashimi overall tasted fresh. The service was 10/10 and very accommodating for birthdays. You can have your private little booths to enjoy and share food. Although on the pricier side for what everything was, the experience dining at Fushimi was fun. Great spot to host parties or bigger dinners.

Yelp
I've been to Fushimi many times and every time the food is delicious. The server wasn't knowledgeable on gluten free options but luckily I can manage. The sushi is always fresh here and priced decently. It is a great place for a group meal.

Yelp
Jason was amazing went on a date and dined in the back service was impeccable. So grateful in these times to have someone actually treat you as they should. Really refreshing , he had great recommendations, we will be back thanks Jason !!!!!

Yelp
My second time here and it was still pleasant. Service was great everyone here is very friendly and hospitable. We started with calamari, crab cakes, rock shrimp tempura, shrimp shumai, and pork dumplings. The crab cakes were good but could've been fried longer. Calamari was very good and big rings. The shrimp shumai was slightly mushy texture not much taste to it. The shrimp tempura was ok. The coating on it was falling apart. The lobster salad with avocado was the best very fresh. The Scottish salmon was very tasteful the creamy sauce that accompanied it was the perfect touch mash potatoes was nicely whipped and asparagus was made well. The fried rice was also very good and full of flavor and seafood portions. The drinks were strong and pretty they didn't leave anything out of those drinks. Overall I highly recommend for big groups and birthday celebrations I'll be back

Yelp
I was invited here for a birthday dinner and we were sat at a beautiful table. The service was really rushed occasionally but eventually we were able to get everything we needed. The Lychee Bellini was a 9/10, super delicious and the fruit was very fresh. Otherwise, I cannot remember too much else of what I ordered. That was my main issue, I love Japanese food and was looking forward to eating at such a beautiful location. Unfortunately, it fell a little flat for me.

Its B.

Yelp
The food and service was impeccable and the drinks were good as well. My issue is with the choice of bottom shelf liquor that they used in many of your drinks. I ordered the lychee martini and immediately after I left my head started to hurt really bad. It is now the next day almost 15 hours after and my head is still killing me. Please start using better bottom shelf liquor especially for the prices people are paying you guys. I'm a trained bartender so I'm educated in this arena.

Yelp
I have been to this place for a rep dinner and it has always been so lively!! I went once on a Friday (definitely started poppin off after 7/8 pm and it was so club like) and then again on a Thursday (more quiet). They have a back area which is great for hosting dinners / doing speaker presentations. I believe for events - they actually due set menus including a soup/salad, appetizer, entree and dessert and the group picks which options they would like. The staff is so friendly, service is great and everyone is super nice and accomdating. I have had the following: -Kani mango salad: So good, really refreshing and light, great start to the meals -Seafood Hot & Sour Soup: Not really that sour; also pretty good and light -Seafood Bisque: Definitely really rich and thick and cheesy so if you aren't a fan of that don't get it but if you are then def get this -Roasted Goat Cheese Salad: Personally, I don't like goat cheese so I would pass on this but if you are fan then you will likely like this -Black garlic salmon sashimi: this dish was just okay the flavoring was not great -Crispy soft shell crab: delicious, highly recommend this, so crispy and delicious. -Grilled hamachi kama: def liked this more than I thought I would the fish was much tender -Rock Shrimp Tempura: If there is any dish you need to get on this menu it is this one, soo delicious!! Absolute must -Lobster medallion and shrimp: this was very good; the lobster was very tender not over cooked at all -Sushi and Sashimi Omakase: Honestly I was excited for this but I would not recommend this if you aren't a fan of other raw fish besides salmon (because that is me) -Mango cheese cake: This was really interesting flavor, pretty rich and heavy; I would pass on this -Creme Brulee: So light and delicious def recommend this -Molten cake: Also very rich and good Overall great vibes, they have very fun drinks as well so high recommend coming here. Great for large groups!

Yelp
Came on a Saturday night with a reservation and was seated immediately. It was a little busy but not packed. Our server was nice and attentive. Just didn't like how close the tables were (but that's NY for you). Angry dragon roll- 8/10 Decent roll, liked the sauce on top, can't say it was 100% worth almost $20 but it was good. Crab dip- 9/10 This alone would bring me back. They give you a small portion of bread for the amount of dip but you can just ask for more! Lobster miso soup- 8/10 Good amount of lobster Shrimp fried rice- 9.5/10 Rice was cooked perfectly and was flavorful Calamari- 5/10 Dipping sauce was good but the calamari was rubbery and a pretty small portion. I would not order again. Would definitely come back to try more things on their menu!

Yelp
I was really craving sushi so I ordered Fushimi to-go. That's probably on me since I think the prices account for the fun, lively ambiance inside. My sushi was just fine - I wouldn't order from here again unless I was going to the restaurant itself for the environment. My order was well-packaged and ready for me when I arrived.

Yelp
This was an unexpected dining but i was pleased and satisfied at the quality of drinks and food. Me and my guest were seated quickly. The waiter gave us a choice of regular or sparkling. I recommend going for the sparkling Voss water. It was delicious and changed my mind on that brand. The only problem i came across was when i asked about certain food options the waiter wasn't very knowledgeable to help influence my decision on what to get. I started off with a shrimp bisque soup that was very good along with the fried mash. My main course was the Parmesan crusted chicken that tasted even better the next day if you have some to take home. Drink of choice was the fushimi sunset. 2-3 of those will set the tone. The bathroom is mixed so don't be taken by surprise. All in all the vibe in there was cozy and chill, would recommend this establishment to any one!!

Yelp
I'll return to finish this review, but, for now, I'd like to give a shout-out to the staff. The people working here are just the best. Now, the nasty male manager (working Friday night, 10/4/24) can kick rocks. Learn to be genuinely kind sir, and stop sitting on the bench outside and spitting. You are the only person there who spoils the vibe. Again, I'll return to finish this review...

Yelp
Excellent atmosphere.. and great food with healthy portions as well. The bar was a bit slow but the bartender knew how to make drinks very well and put an emphasis on the detail of how the cocktails were made. Definitely a must!

Yelp
Fushimi is my second favorite sushi spot . This location is in Williamsburg Brooklyn but it's a chain and several in the city . ( Maybe outside the city as well but I didn't check .) It's traditional Japanese melded with French inspired cuisine . Yes they sell more than just sushi . The atmosphere here is stunning . I went for lunch and you don't get the visuals until it gets dark . The service was excellent as well . Overall not very busy on an early Saturday afternoon . They do a prefix lunch M-F and have Brunch on Saturday and Sundays . The sunset Blvd roll was ! Spicy tuna , salmon and yellowtail , avocado and crispy noodle.. There's a sushi bar set up where you can sit to eat or traditional tables . The Fushimi fried rice was excellent! I could have eaten that and skipped the sushi ! The dish was pretty large and was shared as an appetizer. The seaweed salad was some of the best I've ever tasted . The best part - they make sushi with Brown rice if you want it .
google avatar

Salma S.

Yelp
This was a good meal! I really enjoyed the sashimi pizza, the rolls were unique, and it all tasted very fresh. The service here is good - the staff is friendly and the food came quick. The restaurant itself has a very cool vibe - it has fun photo spots, good music, and it gives off a stylish yet chic vibe. I enjoyed Fushimi and am glad that I tried it!
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
I looked up prices online prior to going. When I arrived the prices for items were TWICE as much. I got the lychee martini and all I can say is if you are coming here just get the overpriced food. The sashimi was good but not for the price in my opinion.
google avatar

Yelp
Visited with a large group for a birthday dinner. Had to come in person to put down a deposit (it's 2023 why can't we do this online?! Decor and vibes are IT! Especially the tunnels to the bathroom with the lights. Waiter was attentive and patient with our big party! Shrimp teriyaki was meh! But those rock shrimp tempura was IT!
google avatar

Yelp
First Impressions: Really fancy and fun. The ambiance was great for a group dinner, this spot definitely has the space for it. The decor was very "fusion" in taste... at least that's the vibes I got when I walked it. The bathroom entrance is kinda cool, reminds me of a rave. The Noms: Super disappointed. The short ribs were good but the main entree (lobster and shrimp) was super dry. It felt criminal to waste lobster by overcooking it like that. It had no taste, like it was just (overly) steamed or something. I regretted ordering it instantly. The corn sprinkled throughout was a weird addition. My friend has the sashimi plate. It was ok, I had some of her yellowtail and it was mildly better. She ordered the soft shell crab and really loved it. Not a fan of soft shell crab so I don't have any feedback there. In Conclusion: 10/10 would not come back here. Sorry, but it didn't impress me at all.

Yelp
Love this place! Took my sis and bro out. Here is what we had and loved: Calamari to start Lobster roll Avocado and salmon roll Shrimp tempura roll Spicy tuna roll.

Kat H.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants and one of the few places I've repeated. It does get dark and loud towards the late evening on weekends but otherwise it's a very aesthetically pleasing and picturesque place to eat. The sushi is great, the drinks are good, and service has always been good.
google avatar

Tanaye W.

Yelp
Fushimi, you know you're wrong for this I ordered takeout last night through Yelp. Miso soup, broccolini, and the rock shrimp. I was behooved to see the ridiculously small portion of $13 rock shrimp provided. From the images, you can see just how much smaller the container is compared to the broccolini ($10). I've eaten at Fushimi once before and I had so much shrimp I had to consider getting a to-go box. This time around, the to-go box IS the meal. Otherwise, the food was great, and ready for pickup in under 20 minutes.
google avatar

Vashti R.

Yelp
This place is nice... I love the vibe here. The sashimi was bomb; the rolls were delicious. The service was excellent. --Soy sauce was accidentally spilled on my bag... And they gave me some club soda right away to help clean it up. Thoughtful service... I also received a free drink on the house. I had a pleasant experience and would return.. 9/10 would recommend

Yelp
Abso-frickin-lutely would order delivery from Fushimi again. I ordered through DoorDash because they had a 40% off coupon (up to $15). At first, I gulped at the prices. $20 for a signature roll? My anxiety was alleviated when the food came (early), packaged neatly, and at the perfect temperature. (Good sushi is room temp, guys.) The quality of the fish was really the highlight; extremely tender, melt-in-your-mouth goodness (without ripping apart or being soggy like low quality fish). Firm flesh, excellent mouthfeel. The nigiri looked like a little jewel case, and have you seen a more colorful sushi roll, much less delivered this neatly? If it's this good delivered, I'll definitely stop by for dine-in.
google avatar

Yajaira R.

Yelp
This was the first time I ordered take out and the service was just as if I were in the restaurant. The delivery was fast, the packaging was durable, and pretty. The food tasted the same! So delicious. I'll never get tired of Fushimi!

Yelp
Best spicy tuna crispy rice in the city & lychee martini. Love the rotating happy hour, always a great deal & keeps us coming back! Dennis is the best bartender, so attentive, personable and makes the greatest cocktails. Staff is always extremely nice. Bathrooms have the coolest futuristic vibe. Will definitely plan a group dinner here - their prix fixe menu is great for the occasion!

Jeffrey D.

Yelp
Great service and amazing food! The manager Moon was amazing and treated us great. I would come back here any time

Yelp
one of the best spots i've been to- loved everything service , food , ambiance 10/10. also a really cute spot for birthdays with decor and lighting. strong drinks !

Yelp
Amazing sushi! The Sunset Blvd and Fire&Ice Roll were incredible. It is heavy but very very good. Bring a friend so you can share all the amazing flavors. The server was out of this world - gave great recommendations. FYI: The infamous Instagram tunnel I assumed was in the entrance is the hallway to the restroom.

Yelp
Visited on a weekend during the day and it wasn't super crowded which was great. We were able to walk in and be seated immediately. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. If you're looking for the part that is posted all over IG, it's in the back where the bathrooms are lol! I loved the ambiance of this place! It gave off relaxed bougie vibes. I decided to order the shrimp teriyaki served with whipped potatoes, steamed broccoli and grilled asparagus. Of course, my appetizer was a sweet potato roll. Food was great! My friends enjoyed their food as well. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I have to come back here!
google avatar

Shani H.

Yelp
Came here because a friend reccomended the lychee martini's. They were really flavorful but still packed a punch. I also enjoyed the decor. The entrance to the bathrooms is beautiful and very picturesque. I look forward to coming back and trying the food.
google avatar

Navin R.

Yelp
I loved my time at Fushimi. I don't think I had a super out of this world experience, what made it great was the food. I thoroughly enjoyed my sushi and fried rice that I ordered. I ordered a Sex on the Beach roll, an Out of Control roll, a salmon hand roll, and a side of fried rice. The sushi was incredible, fish tasted great and was everything I was looking for when I came to Fushimi. The ambiance was nice as well. It was nice but calming as well. Fushimi does have more than just sushis though. I think you can find something for everyone on this menu. I think the walk to the bathroom is what a lot of people know, but don't know that that view is only when heading to the bathroom.
google avatar

Yelp
The atmosphere was peaceful and cool. The food was delicious and the service was great.

Yelp
Fushimi is an over- embellished, (probably) lease-locked establishment that serves an abundance of mediocrity. The miso soup broth was the best part of my meal (it was quite good). I would recommend Fushimi to patrons who won't be opting for the raw fish, instead indulging in mimosas and consuming any of the crispy or fried options.
google avatar

Nadine J.

Yelp
Are you ready for the 411? Here we go...went to Fushimi last night to celebrate a friend's birthday. Now I have been to Fushimi several times before and have never been disappointed so was not expecting anything less than delicious from the kitchen. Now Yelpers you know my favorite drink is Amaretto Sour so if you are on point with the drink then we are good to go. Let's just say I am way past GO. Drinks were on point and prepared well. From my Amaretto to the Green Tea shots. No complaints! There was a pre-select menu but again was not disappointed. The chicken avocado salad was delicious and tasted fresh. The crispy crab cakes with shrimps were perfectly made...they were not too dry and not to moist. The ribeye was also very tasty and well seasoned. I requested it to be prepared Medium and it was done exactly as requested. My husband had the lobsters and can be very picky on his meal but was also satisfied on the preparation of it. Dessert was also well done! Again I have been here a few times but my first time giving a review on them. If I had to give a complaint it would be about the server who seemed to be a little frazzled working with our large group. Other than that please visit this spot, you will enjoy!

Yelp
I was super impressed by their lunch special! For $20 they have a 5 course meal with unlimited soft drink. I got the seaweed salad, crab bisque, daily appetizer (shrimp tempura), chirashi box, and green tea ice cream. They also have English cucumber salad and the other appetizer for the unagi don was rock shrimp tempura which were also really good. I thought for the price, it was great value. Crab bisque had pieces of real crab and came w a slice of bread and cheese. Chirashi box came with masago rice and quality on par with other sushi lunch places I've been in the area. Green tea ice cream came on top of smashed graham pieces which was delicious. I'd definitely recommend the dine-in lunch special, hard to beat for the price and amount of food you get in NYC

Yelp
My boyfriend found this place on whim when we were Googling places to eat on our train ride way back from the aquarium in Coney Island. Fushimi has a very classy ambiance, yet the prices are extremely reasonable for a relatively quality sushi restaurant! The ikura (salmon roe) here was one of the best I've tasted in NYC, and the selection was very vast. My boyfriend and I also really enjoyed the lobster roll in particular. The drinks here were also impeccable and reasonably priced. I had a mocktail watermelon mojito, and it was extremely refreshing. Definitely would come back again!

Rosalia M.

Yelp
Celebrated my son's 18th Birthday in the private rooms in the back. Ambiance, service and food was phenomenal. Our guests were so happy with the food and drinks! We have been longstanding patrons since their opening and will continue our patronage. Moon & Annie were excellent, attentive and extremely competent. Would recommend the party rooms to anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion.

Yelp
Love the food, sushi is great as well as the braised beef. Love the look too, nice and modern.

Yelp
Ordered 2 Crispy Rice rolls as part of a Seamless delivery order. Rice was completely uncooked. Manager told me the next time I ordered I would get properly cooked Crispy Rice. Called this evening to take him up on it. Said he could not do it via Seamless because they were too busy. When I would not accept that answer given what I was told I would get after my poor experience on my previous order, he hung up on me. Do yourself a favor and patronize an establishment that values their customers more than this place does. And if he (refused to give me his name) tries to come in here and play victim, yes, I sure did call back and give him and earful after the hang up!
