Yelp
4.28 stars for the food! 2.88 stars for the service, but you don't go to a dim sum spot for the service! Just expect them to seat you according to how busy it is (DON'T COME ON A HOLIDAY, LUNAR NEW YEAR, or PRIME TIME DURING A WEEKEND when the place is unbearably busy). Do expect them to bring you your order in a timely fashion on less busy days. The dining area is a Chinese banquet hall so the ambiance is pretty fancy with GINORMOUS flat screen TVs and elegant chandeliers. Don't expect staff to go above and beyond because that's just not how dim sum places work.
Fusion Delight is my go-to spot whenever I take my mom out for dim sum, and I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a legit fried rice and some unique and tasty dim sum items that other spots don't have.
First off, as a FRIED RICE freak, I LOVE their "Classic Special Fried Rice in Claypot" ($20.95): this fried rice has savory morsels of seafood, tobiko roe, golden threads of egg, scallions and cilantro, and it is my FAVORITE fried rice in the East Bay area, besides my own of course! I will always order this fried rice each time I go!
Boiled Beef Tripe in Premium Broth: tripe is a staple dim sum dish my mom and I usually get. This one has very subtle flavor, not too salty, but tastes fresh and the chewy bounciness of the tripe is definitely an acquired texture, but I enjoy it! May skip next time and try some more of their other unique items that I didn't try this time.
Crispy Fish Buns: more like fancy fried fish sliders. The fish, cucumber, kewpie-like mayo, and cabbage were tasty, but the bun/bread was dense and heavier than the fish itself. If it were lighter, softer, and less bready, it would be higher on my enjoyment scale. Would not get again.
Deep fried shrimp with lychee: had not seen this item before. Pretty to look at, taste was basically fried shrimp balls with a unique outer crispy coating. The lychee taste didn't stand out, but they sure look like fried lychee spheres! I'd get this again to impress friends!
Deep fried tofu skin wrap with salad: this was definitely new! The crispy tofu wrapped combination of what I believe is shrimp, pork, and vegetables, was par for the course as far as tofu skin aka bean curd fried dim sum goes. It sure looks nice dangling on the skewer over a bed of keypie dressed salad with cherry tomatoes and tobiko roe. I'd get this again to impress friends!
Dumplings with mixed mushrooms and truffle: these were legit good. The truffle taste was on point and satisfied my high expectations for what truffle should taste like. I'd safely guess that there aren't real Italian truffles in the dumplings and instead, they use truffle oil. But it is a well prepared mushroom filling (and possibly pork??) in a sticky steamed dumpling skin. I'd get this again for sure.
Pan fried country style lotus root with minced fish: I always get this because I love lotus root! The stuffing is likely more than just fish, and I'd wager good money it's pork and some water chestnut. Delish and would get again!
The tea I usually order with my mom is Jasmine (香片 or 茉莉花茶). $1.50 to $2 tea charge per person depending on the kind of tea.
Prices for each dim sum dish depends on the size and category (L, XL, K). Our total tab was about $102 for 6 dim sum items and one large fried rice.
NOTE: THE RESTAURANT AUTOMATICALLY CHARGES A SERVICE CHARGE of 15% no matter your party size. Double check before you add your own gratuity, unless you are extra generous!
