Google
This WAS my go to for yummy cheap take out. But sadly the last few times have been almost inedible. Lo mien so mushy and clumped together, could barely eat it, once I was able to separate enough to get a bite almost chocked. Tasted like was cooked in dirty burnt turkey grease. The broccoli in sauce was so overcooked, sauce was so oily, spicy but zero flavor. The spring rolls are still awesome, but how hard are those (premade and fried) to make. And skip the dip sauce is some sort of barely flavored brown dishwater (I use my own at home). Very sad. Waste of money these days is hard. Need a new GO TO. Help.

Google
This place is the best spot to get authentic Chinese food. They have a wide variety of dishes and make them very nicely. It’s a great place to order out from, and the atmosphere is very homely.

Millie Rodriguez

Google
Ordered delivery, very happy with the portions and quality of food. Ordered the boneless bbq ribs combo along with fried wontons. Needed a little more sauce on the ribs but tasted very good and was hot. Had speedy service as well! I'll be ordering more from them for sure!

Ally

Google
It’s absolutely amazing and I would recommend. The egg drop soup is great tbh all of the food is great though as I was eating the soup I did find lint or something and a fruit fly , though it is extra protein, I wouldn’t say that ,that would be gross or anything because the food is amazing and this place has been open for like ever, IT IS THE BEST (in my opinion)

Li

Google
Shrimp with lobster sauce, boneless honey spare ribs, cheese wonton (crab ragoon) is always delicious and healthy. The shrimp was super huge - almost like large tiger shrimps.

Erika Rojas

Google
Always delicious food here !!! I had the general tso shrimp and my bf had the shrimp mei fun noodles. We always come here . Food is fresh and soooo tasty . We also had the crab Rangoon but we ate it before we got to take a pik. Def check them out

Shelby Derrick

Google
Had a very pleasant experience ordering takeout from them yesterday. Everyone was very nice both on the phone and in person, the food was ready quickly, and we enjoyed it. Very satisfied with the amount of food for the price - definitely call them to order vs using the third party ordering options.

The Big G

Google
Very good meal and portion size for the price! Everything was very hot and there was no reason to feel hungry afterwards. The chicken could have used a little more sauce but it was still very flavourful and egg rolls were nice and crispy. (You know if local police that know the city are eating there, it must be good to visit.)

Yelp
Top 3 for me Honey walnut shrimp Chinese donuts Crab Rangoon Whether dining in or out food is always extremely hot on the spot

Yelp
This is by far the best Chinese food in downtown JC! They also deliver fast! We order here almost every week!

Frederick G.

Yelp
One day, one of the managers took me behind the counter and showed me how clean he keeps his place! How his fryer and vents were spotless. You can see how they make their food. I have never EVER had an issue with this establishment! I drive out of my way to get great, clean, tasty food anytime! Love Gaston

Yelp
Classic Chinese takeout. It was good for the price, but I wish the lunch special came with an egg roll instead of soup (90° out is too hot!!)

Laura M.

Yelp
Our regular place on Newark Ave was closed early for a Saturday. Tried Future for the first time. Really fresh, super quick delivery, and open late. Great combo!

Jules H.

Yelp
This used to be our go-to local chinese take out place. It's still decent, but we will no longer be ordering the triple delight because they only added one piece of shrimp in the entire order. We get that times are tough but you dont increase prices and change the recipe completely.

Aleksandra B.

Yelp
Every time I order the food is amazing!!!! Love it ! The best Chinese food in town
google avatar

Frank R.

Yelp
Tasty & inexpensive & delicious & fast orders & friendly & lotsa food . Love the place
google avatar

Lauren S.

Yelp
Quick delivery, and my order was right- but nothing had any flavor. Really disappointed since I had heard great things about the place.
google avatar

Yelp
Man has this place gone down hill. I don't know if it has anew owner or chefs, but for years this was my usual go-to for cheaper, somewhat decent take out on the run. Last night's order completely horrible, with onions as the only vegetable/flavor. Hot and sour soup had none of the expected fungi, shoots, thick texture - like thin onion soup. And the pad Thai with beef had no meat or veggies (just tough dry tofu) with oily noodles that were over cooked. Best Chinese food in JC: Ling Long Xuan on Newark by the courthouse is the one to go to - a bit more $ but worth it. Garden's only advantage is that they were opened later. Shame that this place has plummeted to all those other take outs with no flavor.

Yelp
This is the place to go for American Chinese food. It's always hot, always flavorful, always consistent. They give you so much food I have to split it into two. Their general tso's, veggie lo mein, and chicken and broccoli are insane
google avatar

Tracy H.

Yelp
Good basic Chinese American food. You know, nothing fancy. We ordered shrimp fried rice, vegetable lo mein, and garlic broccoli. All as expected and satisfying. Pick up was easy. They altered their entry for safety during Covid so they hand you your order through a little window and it works well. We'll be ordering from them again soon.
google avatar

Mike B.

Yelp
The Chinese food from this place is very solid. Nothing over the top but the taste is very good and it came just as expected. Hoboken doesn't have any consistently good Chinese restaurants but FUTURE did the job!!!! Will be ordering again for sure. The triple delight was excellent.
google avatar

Brian M.

Yelp
A $9 order can last you 3 days. Within the immediate NYC area. That's 5 Stars.
google avatar

Liza S.

Yelp
Food was pretty good and very quick delivery for late night. Wonton soup was on point
google avatar

Minh T.

Yelp
Love the food here! Have had this since I was in high school and used to come here during lunch time for food! Their orange chicken is the best I've had. It actually tastes like the sauce was made specifically for orange chicken and not just the same used for general Tso and/or sesame. The food here is good quality and delicious!!
google avatar

Karla U.

Yelp
I tried ordering for delivery and they said no because their delivery guy doesn't like coming to Journal Square. Or whatever the real reason is. I even offered to go downstairs and meet them in the street, they still said no. Don't even waste your time for a business who doesn't go above and beyond for their hungry pregnant customers. I'm a real big customer service person.
google avatar

Olivia R.

Yelp
Chicken broccoli tasted like fake chicken, rubbery and not at all like white meat chicken. Just ate the broccoli and rice, sad meal. Wonton soup was lacking flavor too. It's the closest Chinese place to me but I will not be ordering again sadly.
google avatar

Pat L.

Yelp
I will start of by saying that much of my rating is based on the horrible customer service related to by Grubhub order. This order was for deliVery to my Hotel Lobby. It arrived over an hour before I was notified - by notified, I mean my second call to the restaurant. I was told the driver called my cell 10 times after being told that no one had my cell. I hope the restaurant works on their Grubhub processes. For my Food review - even alter having to microwave the food, is a solid 5.
google avatar

Karen D.

Yelp
Giving 3 stars because the takeout order was ready and hot when I picked it up. But from then on it goes downhill. The steamed chicken in the chicken and broccoli was like chewing on pieces rubber. The only thing edible was the broccoli!
google avatar

Jordan V.

Yelp
Pretty good food for a hole in a wall spot I usually get general taos chicken with white rice always comes out great , I tried their wings and it was the last time other than that I would still order my chicken
google avatar

Stephanie Y.

Yelp
Wow. This was just a horrible, horrible idea. Not one thing we sampled was remotely good. Everything was caked in gelatanous fat and completely flavorless. I only felt regret and shame after eating this garbage and I barely even ate any of it. The Wonton soup was not fresh and completely flavorless, the dumplings were aight, the spareribs - I almost threw up in my mouth, the beef dish was disgusting and I took one baby bite and had to throw the whole thing away. I could go on for days about how nasty all this isht was but really it would just be a waste of time and energy. Avoid this spot like the plague. Food King is lookin' way better now.
google avatar

Raj D.

Yelp
Exactly what you're looking for in terms of solid neighborhood hit the spot Chinese American food. It won't be good for you but it'll be good while you're eating it. Recommend the standards, General Tso's chicken and anything fried. Haven't tried the sushi and probably never will.
google avatar

Craig G.

Yelp
Future is my go-to for Chinese near home. It's nothing out of the ordinary and it's the same menu options you could expect to find at any other neighborhood Chinese takeout joint. It also happens to be a dollar or two cheaper, and a bit better than other options. Delivery is quick (3-4 blocks away, 15-20 minutes) and the food is always hot. Some dishes fare better than others: their lo mein (especially with 'crab'. mmm, surimi...) is tender without falling into mushy or overwhelmed by soy sauce, the hot and sour soup is loaded with vegetables and tofu, and the chicken & eggplant in garlic sauce packs just enough garlicky heat to keep the dish interesting. Try to avoid anything fried, though: general tso's, sesame, and orange chicken consistently wind up soggy and jelled in grease. Sadly, Future no longer operates with Taco King for cheap Mexican. Gone are the days of a sub-$10 dinner of hot & sour soup with a grilled steak combo plate (that's meat, beans, rice, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, and two thin tortillas).
google avatar

Vineet S.

Yelp
Well it is hard to find establishments selling both Chinese and Mexican food. This review is only for the Chinese food which I had here.I tried the Shrimp with Black bean sauce and crab fried rice. The food is cheap and is definitely not authentic. I did get a lot of food for $13 bucks but my shrimp with black bean sauce was very bland and completely lacked flavor. Though good on wallet, only come here for too much food minus the taste and flavors.
google avatar

James D.

Yelp
I'm a tattoo artist in the neighborhood and I eat lunch at this restaurant 3-4 a week. The "C1" or Mexican chicken combo is awesome. And while it doesn't last me 3 meals...it definitely lasts me two solid meals. The food is fresh and fast. If they had a public restroom to wash up in I would give this place 5 stars.
google avatar

Henry L.

Yelp
Greasy, high MSG food. But hey, they made sure you know about that before you order, so I don't know why everyone is complaining. There's a $1 delivery fee, but it's totally worth it because the delivery is always fast (they use a car). The Chinese food isn't authentic, as you can probably guess by the blend of "Chinese food" and "Mexican food" in the same menu, but that doesn't mean it doesn't taste good. There were many times when I craved the Grilled Steak Combo, which includes mexican rice, beans, two flour tortilla, guacamole a can of coke for $7. The warm tortilla is crazzzzy good.

Yelp
I've ordered here in the past for delivery, food has always been good and they are pretty pricey compared to other Chinese take out. Unlike other Chinese takeout fried rice they actually add pees and carrots which is always a plus for me instead of tons of burnt onions...fresh ingredients always a good thing, am I right or am I right lol...came here for lunch...plenty of seating...don't really see people dine in Chinese take out anymore anyway...since I now work near the area, and like I've state pretty pricey but food was delicious...had the lunch special..shrimp and broccoli and pork fried rice..can of Coke for almost 7$...i would eat here again, place is clean, food is good and made quick, that's all you can ask for in a 30 min lunch
google avatar

Miah B.

Yelp
Our go to for Chinese take out. We keep it simple, any type of fried rice, chicken wings, large shrimp and broccoli and carb wontons. Some days we'll trade the fried rice for lo mein. Food wise never been disappointed. It's alway hot and delicious. 4 stars due to the issues with delivery driver a time or two but it got better... we still ordering right ‍.
google avatar

Yelp
Yes, you can't expect a certain amount of quality from american chinese food. It's not supposed to be a work of culinary art. It's also not supposed have noodles and chicken that taste like they've spent a decade in a tin can. These positive reviews baffle me. I love american chinese, I'm not some social elite who landed at this place expecting a world class meal. This is NOT good food plain and simple. It was the most bland, uninspired, aged, careless chinese I've ever had. There's no way around it. Seamless gives this five stars with 798639834 reviews. Must be Russia. This place is garbage.

Reid S.

Yelp
Very good take out spot. The fried rice is very good and the chicken is solid quality. Can't go wrong with the orange chicken or sweet and sour chicken. Also very reasonably priced. Would recommend to anyone looking for good take out Chinese food
google avatar

Nicole W.

Yelp
Sweet and sour chicken was super dry and did not taste fresh. The sauce itself was very gelatin like. It wasn't really edible. Then, we ordered fried tofu and we got fried tofu with vegetables. I asked if it was just tofu and no veggies and woman said yes. I wouldn't eat here again just because the meat was not fresh and food tasted low quality.
google avatar

Mike R.

Yelp
This is the best Chinese spot in Jersey City. The food is on-time and great every time. Portions are nice as well. Stop going to the other spots.

Antonio E.

Yelp
I used to love this restaurant until the great customer service they once had started to diminish. I placed an order for one lunch special and one actual meal (Which would usually include a carton/tray with the selected protein and a side of white rice). What I received was two lunch specials with pork fried rice mixed with the protein which is not what I paid for. I kindly called the restaurant to notify them of the issue and instead of correcting the issue, the gentleman insisted that the order was made correctly when I know for a fact that it was not. That being said, I will not be returning to this restaurant.
google avatar

Eric B.

Yelp
hahahaha..this place is awesome. My two favorite food categories in 1 place..Mexican and Chinese...who would have ever thought that possible?!?! But wait it is. So the Chinese is standard take-out, and its only $5.25 for lunch special which is awesome and its tasty too which is a plus! The Mexican fare I guess is the best that a bunch of Chinese people could pull together while making General Tso's chicken. The chili, chicken, and bean tacos are good. They are huge, filling, and cheap. So if your in the mood for cheap tasty Chinese and have a craving for a taco (which is my dilemma most days) then this is definitely the place for you. Just beware of the sideways floating fish with weird spots on it in the fish tank.
google avatar

Krina S.

Yelp
Nothing amazing, nothing terrible. The lunch special has way more food than you should/could eat. The broth in the wonton soup was really good.
google avatar

Binna K.

Yelp
I have a soft spot for this place as our local neighborhood takeout spot. Also, big bonus points for having their own duck sauce. Their chicken and broccoli and shrimp and eggplant in garlic sauce are great. So are the chicken wings. Crab rangoons are meh - I always find them not crispy and too tough. Good within the standards of cheap American Chinese food!
google avatar

Scott H.

Yelp
The only thing is the wontons, everything else was terrible. What was that, Generals Chicken, scallion pancakes, fried rice. Save your stomach!!!!
google avatar

Theodore H.

Yelp
After sampling plenty of the take out Chinese spots in Downtown I must say Future does it the best. This is worth saying, the dumplings are fantastic and made in house! Literally no other cheap, takeout Chinese spot does this. Also, the food is freshly prepared and always on point. I usually get the combo platters and dumplings and it always hits the spot. Never had delivery as this is on my walk home so I cannot comment on that, but the food is what matters most and here they just get it right.
google avatar

Jen M.

Yelp
Ordered from here a lot and passed their business on to the 400+ apartment homes my company manages... Until the gentleman on the phone yelled at me today. I don't appreciate being spoken to that way when we give you a lot of business, including our own. Never again...
google avatar

Perk H.

Yelp
In Jersey it's doi able I mean like it Chinese food better options in New York but still Ight. Get the Beef wit broccoli.

Petie L.

Yelp
Not sure if I'm getting different cooks being that I go at random times of day but there are times when the food is really good but there's an equally amount of times when I feel if I eat more than three spoons of it I'll be sick. So staying away for awhile

Josh D.

Yelp
Got sesame chicken combo and house fried rice. Delivery was quick but the food was not good. The chicken doesn't look like chicken and is very chewy, sauce is good. Fried rice is decent a bit bland. From the quality of the meat I would not order again.
google avatar

Steph B.

Yelp
I've never actually been here, but their delivery is on point! Always knocking at our door before the estimated delivery time and the food is always hot and delicious. I always get the sesame chicken lunch special. Well worth the price and tastes great - whether it's right after they deliver or heated up the next day! They always get the order right too - we usually have at least one rice substitution we write in and we've never had an issue. Future is always our first choice when ordering Chinese food!

Geomara N.

Yelp
The food here is never fresh. And the guy on the phone is rude to customers. What a horrible restaurant. Avoid ordering here.
google avatar

Neelum K.

Yelp
Fantastic for take out! Steamed Shui Mai with shrimp is ridiculous. They use too much sauce and oil on the lunch specials. I just drain it out, because the shrimp they use are large and very good. Also fresh veggies, they don't skimp. Wontons in the soup homemade - very tasty. Reliable, affordable and delicious.
google avatar

Klaudia P.

Yelp
Yummy food and very friendly stuff! You guys are always on time when I order for delivery! We love your General Tso Chicken!

Jersey G.

Yelp
They ignored all the instructions on the order and did not deliver any of the condiments requested. When we called them back they said they wouldn't be able to fix the order for another 30 mins
google avatar

Diogenes M.

Yelp
This is my go-to for americanized chinese food. I usually get chicken wings with pork fried rice, and their wings are solid. Their general tso's is probably too sweet and not spicy enough for my taste. Their egg roll is ok. Food also comes with the usual fortune cookie. Have not tried much of anything else. They are also pretty good and getting the food to you pretty fast. Usually they are there at around the 30 minute mark. They have almost never let me down when it comes to being on time. Have never been to the actual restaurant.
