"Fuzio Universal Bistro, a fast-casual restaurant on the Embarcadero, is closing after more than 20 years. The last of its three San Francisco locations, it survived the dot.com bust and the 2008 financial crisis. The restaurant, known for its global pasta dishes, was part of a '90s wave of quick, casual dining. Patrons can still visit a remaining location in Modesto." - Caleb Pershan

Decent food but expected more from this area. Good size serving.

They have a really nice happy hour, decent service and are not always as crowded as some of the other happy hour spots in the Financial District. This is likely due to them being on the upper level in the Embarcadero and somewhat tucked away. My favorite item on the happy hour menu is the lettuce wraps, they are light, flavorful and a fair portion for the price.

Loved it!! The crab cakes were outstanding, thin crisp crust on the outside, tender moist, cooked to perfection on the inside. The thickness of the cake was just right to carry the fusion of flavors and fit perfectly in your mouth. The sauce was tangy, complimenting, but not over-powering the flavors of the crab cake. Paired with the recommended wine of the server - sublime. The atmosphere was California - casual/sheik. Outside seating on terrace with umbrellas with outside heaters (bring your jacket for the breeze). Inside cozy bar, table spacing to afford private conversation and areas for larger groups.

The best calamari I've ever had. It was meaty and freshly fried with a tasty dippng sauce. The Mediterranean salmon looked small but the dish was very good and filling with pesto pasta and sauteed spinach.

The first Fuzio I ever went to was in Davis as an undergrad. I loved it then so I was so happy when I found out there were a couple of them in the city as well. I am a creature of habit so I every time I go there I have a simple order- fried calamari and a caesar salad. For dessert their gelato. And I love it every time.

Stumbled upon this place back in 2001-ish and fell in love! The tropical iced tea, the Crispy Calimari Linguine and the Tiramisu....I'm so glad these have never left the menu and even more glad that this place is still here. Always a must-stop when I'm in the city.
