Gaam Karaoke

It's a bit pricey but the food is pretty good. I highly recommend their takoyaki. It's a good place to grab a bite and drink with your friends. There was a DJ playing when I was there on a Saturday night. There is also outside seating for those who need to smoke and such.

Great place to party and drink, difficult parking but no cover charge. Go up to the second floor and enjoy great drinks and food as well!

Good happy hour prices! Great for a few drinks and food is nice and hot. The spicy food is actually pretty spicy if you're into that! The service for us has always been great, but it hasn't been busy when we've gone for happy hour. If you're walking around the neighborhood or already in the area, it's worth stopping for a while so long as it isn't too busy. I've not tried to park at the plaza but it looks like a nightmare.

GAAM is a pretty typical Korean Bar/Lounge. Antique style string lighting was a nice touch with the cool blue mood lighting to accent the walls. We had a pretty awesome DJ the night we were there with about 10 friends in one of the U-shaped booths. We had a few of the appetizers which were fine but most people don’t go to a place like this for gourmet food. We had an occasional visit from one of the “waiters” who would pour JW Black/GG Vodka shots directly down the throats of a few of our friends. Fun times was had by all. The only downside was the $20 parking which was a pain since many of us drive solo. If finding cheap/free parking in the area was easier, this place would have been a solid 5.

Excellent food and service in a charming loft second floor. Definitely a great choice for reliable Korean food.

Absolutely love this place. Great environment, great staff, and really great pub food. The perfect place to come with a few friends and grab some beers, play some pool or darts. And all the customers are friendly as well. You won't run into any snobs here, just people looking to relax and enjoy themselves. The TVs are in great spots and the jukebox has great selections.

Had a great time with a large group of 15. Booked late on a Friday for a Saturday event (we were lucky but I suggest planning ahead). They provided us a room with two large tables as well as seating all around the back and we fit pretty well. Usually one to several of us were up singing, but even just resting there was about enough space for a varied physical sizing of the group. Pricing was good. The service was very quick and attentive. Our group eats beforehand but some stragglers needed food badly, so we ordered the room package with food and drinks, added on a bit more, and everyone was satisfied. If you are looking to feed the whole group, I recommend snacking beforehand as it could get pricey ordering a bunch of extra plates. Also, we had a bunch of newcomers as well as karaoke vets, the general feedback was overwhelmingly positive. As far as a karaoke bar, it did the trick. Some popular songs were missing, but it didn't mess with our night. Half the fun is trying new stuff or bringing out other forgotten, yet wonderful songs. We ended up staying an additional 2 hours from our original reservation and thought the pricing and extra alcohol cost all was reasonable. Highly recommend and we will be back!

A great stop for karaoke after eating in the area! The staff was super responsive when we wanted to order more drinks and even when we had one spill! Their prices were decent compared to karaoke places I'm used to in the Bay Area + NYC, but that's definitely a bit biased. The UI is all in Korean but they took time to explain how to use it for people who didn't speak Korean. The system sounded good but we had to switch regions on the system to go between kpop and English songs which took a bit of time. Additionally, some of the song ID numbers in their song book didn't seem to match up with the system and gave us a not found error. They also didn't necessarily have all the latest music. Overall I'd come here again and be happy to sing the night away like we did on our trip here :)

IF YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF COME HERE I've been to quite a few bars in Korea town and I'm well aware of pricing. I honestly feel as if I was taken advantage of As soon as I walked in the owner looked me up and down, looked at my Amex card and charged me $14.35 for a rum and coke. He could not make eye contact with me while he charged me. Just an overall weird and unwelcoming vibe. I'm not sure if I was looked as an outsider by coming here but I kind of felt like that

I have never been to Karaoke before, but this was a decent first experience. The price is super reasonable, room for 45$ per hour and 1 drink per person. The drinks however are crazy expensive. 1 soju bottle is 22$, over 4x the cost at Hmart which is just down the street. I guess that's how they get you, but overall it's not a good practice. I'll be sure to update my review when I try some other karaoke, but this place also seems to be popular amongst Koreans.

I visited with three friends on a Saturday around 10 pm, and we didn't wait long. The servers were friendly, guiding us to spacious rooms with two screens. As the first hour ended, our server graciously notified us about the upcoming extra charge, a thoughtful gesture that sets this place apart from others where customers typically have to keep track of the time themselves. The mic and sound systems were excellent, making our karaoke experience enjoyable. They also provided mic covers. The $40 per hour rate was reasonable, and they offered sets with drinks and food. Although we stuck to karaoke, the diverse menu intrigued us for future visits. Overall, a top pick for karaoke in Koreatown.

Good and extremely fast service, refreshing and easy snacks, UP-TO-DATE MUSIC!!! Parking can easily get cramped, but it's definitely worth the $4 valet during busy hours.

The entrance is inconspicuous - the door essentially blends into the brick wall, but Gaam Karaoke does exist! Yelp says the place closes at 2am, but we showed up around 3am and were able to snag a 2 hour slot. Although I didn't explore the entire premises, it looked larger on the inside than expected and there were plenty of rooms. The room we had was spacious and could easily have fit a party of 10. I liked that Gaam provides song books. I can never remember the names of all the artists and songs I want to sing, so I appreciated being able to page through the book for inspiration. If you're a frequent karaoke-r, you'll know that 2 hours passes very quickly. Gaam strictly adheres to the time limits and the karaoke machine stopped taking new song requests after our time was up.

There's low reviews for a reason lol Called them Saturday night asking about a room and cost. Guy on the line says they have an available room that's $40 for 4 people per hour. I book the room. We get there and a staff says that it's $45 for the room AND there's minimum $50 that needs to be spent on drinks??? I call him out on the inconsistency and he says it's because it's a busy weekend? I'm wondering what changed between the 30 minutes that I called and we got there. That info would be helpful to know before reserving...So bizarre and felt like a scam honestly. My friends and I bailed, disappointing.

Went on a Thursday night with a group of 4, no reservation. Service was great, it wasn't crowded (though we did have to do valet parking because the lot itself is tiny--I believe the valet was $4). Karaoke was $35/hour, a bottle of soju was $20, and beer was $8. Overall we had a great time and would go back. Some of our friends had trouble finding songs that they knew but I thought the song list (we were mostly singing English language pop songs and one friend was singing J-Pop) was good.

Really quick and efficient service. Went with a group of 11, stayed for 3 hours just doing karaoke and we each only paid $15. Really great price. They also have tamborines in the rooms which was a nice touch. Would definitely recommend for at least the karaoke aspect!

the owner was so sweet! didn't have to wait at all, and we were shown to our room right away. very clean, and did not feel pressured to order the food!! would come back again!!

I can't say enough good things about Gaam Karaoke. Had a wonderful experience there for a birthday party - the staff was beyond kind, helpful, attentive and really made the evening so special for our big group. It was my first time there and definitely won't be my last, thanks Gaam!

It is an old fashion karaoke bar (with song book instead of computer system) really cute and affordable.

Sing!!! It felt good to be back at my favorite karaoke bar! The name has changed, but the customer service is still opulent. Young & teddy are rockstars. Their demeanor consists of how can I make your night memorable. K-pop was immaculate. Young and Teddy wore mask and the rooms were completely clean and Covid safe. The microphones were clean. The remote control was cleansed prior to us using it. The television displaying our songs was spotless. I don't know if K-pop knew we were arriving, but our room was spic and span. It was like Mr. Clean personally cleaned it. Our drinks were ice cold and our fruit platter was fresh. The music was updated and consisted of all the recent top hits and our favorite 80's jams. It is nice to know that my favorite karaoke bar has not lost its luster and it still caters to its regulars. The times have changed. Teddy and Young make sure that you know nothing else has changed. I will be back. Again and again. Please note the best time to go is Wednesday and Thursday night. Weekends are great, but some midweek lullabies are the best!

Third stop for karaoke when the first two we tried were full (and overpriced!) We just sang so no reviews about food or drinks, but it was a pretty standard room and the price was reasonable. I'd go again.

Classic Ktown Karaoke! Gaam Karaoke (also known as K-Pop Karaoke) is probably my favorite go-to karaoke spot in Ktown. I've never had a problem reserving a room here and typically just call the day of to make a reservation when they open. The space itself is located in a classic, nondescript small strip mall plaza that is just so quintessential Ktown. The parking lot is very small but they do have valet here. Inside, it has a fun hole-in-the-wall vibe but it's very neatly organized and arranged. The karaoke rooms themselves are very spacious and never feel cramped, which is definitely not the case in many other karaoke spots. I guess I should note that the karaoke machine remotes are all in Korean (this is Korean karaoke after all), but there are really only like 3 buttons you need to memorize (the add to queue button, cancel button, and play next button). Those buttons are all grouped together and the employees there are super helpful and can readily explain how to use the remote. You of course can order booze and food here and they have the selection that you'd expect in a Ktown spot -- soju, beer, hard liquor and bar food items like fried chicken, fruit plates, etc. They also have various room packages that you can order that includes your choice of food and booze, and every package comes with 2 hours of karaoke. The packages are definitely a good deal when you're with a large group of people that want to eat and drink. One of the main reasons why I like Gaam is that unlike many other karaoke places, Gaam doesn't force you to purchase a drink/food package or have any minimum food/booze spends. If you just wanted to come here with a few friends and sing for 2 hours without buying food/booze, you can do that, and you'd only have to pay for the 2 hours. That's it. Many karaoke places don't allow that and make you either spend a certain amount of money on food/booze or make you purchase a package. I should note though that that's been my experience with Gaam when I've gone there during the week when it's slow. This policy might be different on the weekends or when they're super busy, but I've also been here on the weekends and they've never inflated the prices on me.

Stellar service, good rates, and the latest song selection. Host was kind and attentive enough to squeeze us two in on a busy Friday night. Will be back for their Happy Hour.

Gaam is a cool karaoke spot located in the central area of K-town. It's in a small area next to a bar and there is valet parking available in the parking lot. I came on a weeknight with two girlfriends and ordered a package deal that came with a set time and drinks + food. The total cost was around $200. The service was good, the guys working at the front were very accommodating and kind. We all had a great time - good & updated songs, really spacious rooms, and fair prices! I would most likely come back to Gaam if I was looking to go karaoke again!

The restaurant that we were going to was completely packed. I was with my brother and he only had till 10 o'clock until he had to pick up his kids. 45 minute wait and we just didn't have that time to kill.. So we walked to the closest liquor store so they could grab some alcohol and what do you know there was a karaoke place right next to it. I am obsessed with karaoke!!. Let me prepare you if you plan on going to this karaoke spot. First of all you're gonna want to take one of your Korean friends because the remote control is written in Korean. Now this is a great little hustle designed to make you take longer so that you spend more money. Did I tell you that it's $40 an hour. You get your own private room with your own private strobe lights .I'm not sure if I like that part. I think the dark lights are designed to make you not be able to find songs. The bill came out to $168 . To some up the evening I had a great time. That's just what I do. I'm going to make the best out of every situation

This is an excellent Karaoke bar as they have ample rooms, large song selection, and stellar customer service. The time limit of 2 hours for a small party is perfect. Soju however is a bit pricy at 20/ea

You guys are just a regular karaoke why are u charging $200 min? You're not high end at all and for u to be charging that I think it's a bit ridiculous.

Had an amazing time here Last Saturday for my sisters birthday. I had made a reservation on Friday for a party of 12. I had inquired about different bottle packages they had, decided to get the $300 package. We arrived there just a little bit after 9 o'clock. We got room 2, it is big enough for double the size of our party. He showed us how to work the karaoke system, the mics, and the TV. For the $300 package, we got a bottle of Tito's 750 ML, two types of mixers, choice of entrée, 15 beers (although we opted for 2 bottles is soju instead). For the entree, we can chose from fried squid, french fries, or fried wings/chicken. We picked the chicken and it was soooo good!!!!! The package also included 2 hours of karaoke. They also gave us a birthday bottle of soju! The bill came out to be around $590 before tip, but we did extended karaoke time for another two hours. Plus, ordered 6 more bottles of soju. To end night, he brought us all bottled waters. Great time and will definitely come back!

This is the spot to go to at 2 am to end the night! I've been to karaoke here like 2-3 times now. It's probably my favorite because they still have their alcohol license and a good deal on it too. Music selection is HUGE. Good mix of K pop songs and English songs. I'm not giving it a full 5 stars because the rooms are bit run down- cracks in the wall, holes in the seat. And bathrooms are messy too.

$8 vodka shot $11 vodka on the rocks $13 vodka with soda Plus tax I can't make sense of this!! All drinks ridiculously overpriced

This is my second time going out for karaoking and this place was a stellar choice for our first time in K-town. Unlike other karaoke places, this place did not require a deposit upfront or have an alcoholic bundle package. I liked that the required proof of vaccination. The host that we met up front was friendly and nice and made conversation with our group of three. Our room was clean with special precautions like hand sanitizer and coverings for microphones. For $40 per hour, we had a wonderful time. We will definitely be back.

My favorite karaoke spot. I used to come here probably once a week but now that I'm a bit older and can't handle the 3 day hangovers, I only come about once a month. Still a great spot if you're looking to sing and drink with your friends in a room! They always have the most up to date American and Korean songs but if you're looking for up to date Japanese music, you should check out the karaoke spots in sawtelle.

This is my go-to place for our last stop of the night! The workers here are so kind and accommodating to whatever you need. Prices are absolutely reasonable especially if it is super late at night. For $200, we got a whole bottle of Jameson, soda, extra water, and a whole plate of fruit, as well as 2 hours of karaoke! I will always come to Gaam Karaoke to end my night of fun with friends.

The rooms are large and the price is decent, but we had trouble with the mikes being way too loud. We tried adjusting on the screen, but it didn't work so we had to call in a staff member to help. They actually had to open up the seat and adjust from the equipment in there. The controller was all in Korean and difficult to use. Skipping songs was dicey as you'd just as often replay them instead. The staff spoke minimal English so communication was difficult. Also, many popular karaoke songs were not listed and that was a disappointment.

I was really impressed with Gaam! We called in at around 9pm Saturday night when all the other karaoke places like Pharaoh and Star were booked straight through the night. They had an opening within the hour for our party of 6, and we got 2 hours for the $135 package. The guy also let us substitute one of the fish options in the package for chicken wings. The staff mainly speak Korean, so if you don't have someone who can translate/go-between, it's easiest to just go with the set packages they have. That way, there's no confusion at the end of the night about who drank what, did you make the minimum cost for food, minimum cost for alcohol, etc. The karaoke list is super updated - I saw that they even had BTS's Black Swan and it's been like 2 weeks since it came out?? Amazing. And of course they had a huge selection of old songs in both English, Korean, Chinese, and some others. Obviously it's not as fancy as Pharaoh in terms of ambiance, and the rooms were definitely not sound proof. But if your belting your heart out in your own room, who cares what the neighbors are singing, amirite? Anyways, if you want a chill, good time just singing your heart out at karaoke, Gaam is the place to do it. Would definitely go back.

UNNECESSARILY EXPENSIVE for truly bad drinks. The karaoke services offered (not just the choice of music/songs, but the equipment and rooms, etc) are terribly dated. I would go elsewhere.

The room was spacious for a large group out for a birthday, but my main complaint was the lack of modern music and the system was not self-explanatory. Not sure when was the last time they updated their song list, but it seemed a lot was lacking both in current music, but even in go-to karaoke classics. The system was hard to navigate and not all selections in the system match up what was in the book. If the establishment updated these issues, they would be great because, again, the room was large and comfortable.

Came here to celebrate my friend's birthday and I loved it! Parking was super easy and cheap with valet ($3 for a Friday night). We reserved a room ahead of time and it did not take long to get situated. The drinks are strong but good. I loved their song selection as there were songs for every person in my group to enjoy! We loved it so much I wish we stayed a little longer but they are very strict about reservation times. I will be coming back soon!

Fun place to private karaoke with a group of friends! I went for a birthday party and we all had a great time. They have hundreds of songs to choose from! They also have a parking lot with valet parking. We ordered a fruit platter and drinks for everyone to share! Highly recommend for a big group of friends for a night out!

I just called inquiring about the pricing for 15 people, 2 hours of karaoke in a private room on Friday. Whoever answered the phone told me it's $65 per hour for the room/karaoke (thought was was a great deal). I wanted to double check to make sure there wasn't a food/drink min like most places have. He told me you are REQUIRED to order 2 ALCOHOLIC beverages per person. Doesn't matter what you order (beer, shot, cocktail) as long as it's alcoholic and each person orders 2. I asked what you're supposed to do if someone in your group isn't drinking or is sober (I have a friend who doesn't drink that I've invited) and he said they can't come. I guess sober people aren't welcome at this place?! TDLR: He told me sober people/people who do not drink are not allowed to come because they cannot meet the alcoholic drink min.

Great prices. The small karaoke room that seats up to seven people, only costs $30/hr + tax. Valet parking only costs $4. Our group had so much fun. I'll definitely be back.

Cool spot. But somehow got charged $100 for 1hr and 6 beers. Isn't it $40 an hour? So the beers cost $50 (we tipped $10). They over charged cause they thought we were drunk.

Took in our party of 10 with no reservation, we played for about two hours in our big room with 4 sojus and 10 bottled waters, bill came out to $170. Great service and no wait. Recommend.

Wtf. We were told that it was $40 an hour for 4 guest or less. So we put oue name down and waited 30 minutes. They didn't call us while it has been 1 hr so we went in and asked if they had a room. They have forgotten us. But they got a room ready for us and we went in. But they tell us the hour is different and the minimum of purchase is $50. So it would be $40 1 hr + $50 of drinks/food. I was shocked but my two friends said sure since we waited. So we order drinks and a fruit plate which was not ripe at all. The timer was 1.40 hr which was strange bc we just wanted to sing for an hour. I guess that was our part not asking them about it, but the total came out to be $140!!! Wtf. No. They lied to us and this is not what we asked for. 1.40 hr was too long, we got so tired. Overall, I don't recommend it.

Came here for a New Year Eve countdown - via cellphone LOL Had a super blasting time. Prices are average and the service is always top notch! They have great selections of songs - no complaints here!! ^_^ Will def be back!!!

Hands down the best karaoke bar in Ktown! Valet parking is $7 so be ready wish cash. It's $40 an hour during the week, we spent 2 hours singing our heart outs and drinking at the establishment. The employee was very attentive and nice to us. I wish they had a larger song selection but it's a good spot overall. We need more rap and r&b!

4.5 stars! We held our co-worker's farewell celebration here with a large room and bottle service (Blue Label). We had reservations made at 11pm and we were running late, so we gave them a call to let them know and they had no problem, which was good customer service! I laughed when we got there because the karaoke is right next to a liquor store. Too bad you can't bring your own booze. Parking - Valet is $2 dollars! But the parking lot is SUPER small, so if you have a nice car, I wouldn't suggest you to do it. But if you don't care, why not? Service - Excellent service! When we got there, we told them we have a reservation and we were escorted to our room. The large room was big and it has two long tables, booth seats and two big screens. Because we have bottle service, they gave us food and fruits. There is also a bar outside of the room, check that out if you are not doing bottle service! By the way, if you are planning to do bottle service, it really depends on what bottle you get and how many people are there to split it. More people = cheap with splitting the bill. With bottle service, you also get an hour of karaoke included. $40 hourly if you are just doing it for an hour. I wish I remembered how much our tab was since that Johnny Walker became my best friend that night, I seem to forgot some part of the night. No smoking inside the room! Go outside and smoke. I highly recommend this place for the big groups! Any event is possible here. Just saw some newlyweds celebrating their wedding here with their friends! Fun times! I can't wait to come back here again for another celebration!

I have never been to a noreban (karaoke) as good as this place! What I mean by good is that the boss is so amiable and the bartender girl is cute and funny. The boss and bartender even drank with my group and me before sending us to a room. Their drinks and rooms are a decent price. The rooms are spacious. We got a discount for the rooms. What makes this karaoke place stand out from others in K-town is their sound system. The sound is really good and they have a great selection of Chinese, Korean, and English songs. The karaoke place is not actually in the same plaza as Gaam bar. You have to walk about .2 miles to get there but it is worth the walk. I had such a fun time there. I will definitely go back soon. I recommend going to this place to get some drinks and karaoke with your friends!

There are two types of late night Korean spots: Places that appreciate your patronage and provide you with 'service' or perks for the business AND places that take advantage of you while you've had too much soju in your system. Gaam Karaoke has unethical business practices. Even though I asked for their calculator I failed to see that Gaam rounded up for everything resulting in a $6 overcharge. This was something they counted on. Always do the math. 18% post tax gratuity is added in which is obnoxious. Song selection is poor. They turn on the AC if you ask.

Who says reverse discrimination does not exist? It clearly does in K-town! Exhibit A: take a group of individuals, 85% "whitey" and 15% Asians, cleverly hidden in dark corners. At check -in. Situation: Group was late, yet Gaam cancelled reservation, despite posting wrong address online and not providing clear directions to address. Note, there is a Gaam Lounge and Bar, which is separate from Karaoke. Despite being on the phone during walk to Gaam (after going to wrong location) and letting them know this was a special birthday celebration, they did not make any accommodations for the group. We were only 5 minutes late! Guess business must be good if you are turning away customers! Luckily, there are other businesses in k-town that does not discriminate! I may not speak the language, but I am aware! Kamsamida!

My friends and I had a good 1.5 hours here. The rooms are spacious and there are actually two TVs in the room so you don't usually have to crane your neck to see the lyrics properly. The English song list is pretty impressive. It's sorted by title (not artist) so I just flipped through for awhile before I found the songs I wanted. The machine to punch in the songs was a bit janky. I kept on pressing numbers but a lot of times it wouldn't register for some reason. It's about $30 an hour for the room.

Outdated systems and song list -- all the pages on the menu are sticky. Ordering interface is horrible and service is subpar. Maybe a better experience if you speak Korean, but we had trouble communicating. It was impossible to turn down the background volume or to toggle the vocal track on/off, based on the service (which shouldn't be true). Food and beverages ridiculously overpriced.

Gaam karaoke is really one of the best in ktown! The workers are really nice and friendly too. They have a small bar area with a cute bartender. :) The sound system at the karaoke rooms are really nice too. The rooms are roomy and fairly new. I went the other night and it was $40 an hour! Pretty good deal. They also have a deal where you pay $150 and you get a 750 mL bottle of Grey goose or black label and an hour of karaoke! They will also throw in a smaller bottle of goose or black with it too!

They gave a lot of hours so I was happy but I found out I was paying all for it. Also, songs are outdated and place felt not clean.
