Gables Cafe

"Hole in the Wall" best describes this place, but in a very good way. It's located at the bottom of an office building and you have to look for the sign from the outside parking lot. Inside, there are counters and chairs against the wall and you order at the counter, so don't expect a fancy dining experience. And they close at 3pm, so it's only open for breakfast and lunch. But the breakfast we had was delicious. The eggs over-easy were some of the best cooked eggs we've had, gently cooked and not a single burn mark. It's hard to be impressed with fried eggs, but you can tell the chef really took his time to do these eggs well. The cafe con leche was also delicious, and for such a Miami staple, that's saying a lot. Same for the bacon and the Cuban toast. Everything was delicious and I can imagine all their other food being equally delicious and cooked with love. And the service was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. All the other reviewers are spot on about this place. I'm glad we found you and took a chance.

Wow! Where do I begin? What a great experience. The food and service was outstanding. Now I see why they are so busy. I want to say thank you to the staff for the great food and service today. The coffee was amazing as well.

The steak sandwich was awesome. It was awesome on its own but add that pink sauce to it. Woooooow. The owners are very sweet and I'll come back again just for the food.

I needed a quick place for lunch and found this on Google maps. It was good. The grilled onions in the dish were very yummy, but there was nothing extremely exceptional about this lunch... Therefore the 3 star rating. Maybe I should have chosen a sandwich instead, but I will probably not visit this place again.... Only because it was just OK. The people working there were very friendly.

Absolutely delicious, freshly made sandwiches and platters for breakfast or lunch. Terrific service with very friendly proprietor who gets to know everyone. Small seating area but almost everyone gets orders to go. Highly recommend - only wish is that they were open on the weekends!

This place always gets your order right and the egg sandwiches slap! The orange juice is fresh squeezed, and their croqueta preparadas really hit the spot. The inside is small but it's a perfect spot for a low-key breakfast. Service is great and wait times are very short. 10/10!

Oh my goodness! What a hidden gem. This little hole in the wall boasts some of the finest Cuban food in the entire city of Miami. And trust me, I know good cubic food because I was born and raised here. Every menu item is a home run.

Homey Cuban Kitchen. I will say I'm the 19 years of my life, coming and going to all the Cuban restaurants of Miami. I will say this takes the cake. I had the best Vaca Frita I've ever had. The vaca frita here makes La Carreta or Versailles look bad. If you live in Miami, or are just visiting. Make the trip. Order Vaca Frita with Arroz y Frijoles with una colada for the full experience. Last thing, make sure to pull the front door hard!!

I ordered through the Yelp app a Pan con bistec and a cafe con leche. It was very easy to place the order and I couldn't physically go, even thought they are only a couple of blocks away, because I was already working. The price is really fair for what you get, but it takes forever to the delivery to get to you. For.E.Ver. I called a couple pf times, they told me the driver had already picked it up and they couldn't figure out what was taking so long. Anyway, when it finally got to the office, the pan con bistec was good (though not really worth the looong wait) and the coffee also was good. Pretty much something good for when you're in the office and forgot your breakfast at home, but not if you're really really hungry.

Literally the best kept secret in Coral Gables!! Thursday is the day to go. By far the best Vacation Fritas in all of Miami. So much flavor without being soaked in oil. Must try!!

This place doesn't exist anymore . I drove around looking for it and it's not there. I ended up going to La carreta instead another latin restaurant near by.

I was really craving Cuban breakfast and happened to find this place right by my office. WOW! I ordered one of the breakfast specials - Cuban toast, 2 croquetas, and a cafe con leche - and it did not disappoint!! All for $5.50!! Toast was perfect and the croquetas were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Amazing food and coffee, only sad part is that are not open on the weekends.

I love Gables cafe. I'm a regular there. Whether it be breakfast, lunch, or my daily coffee break. Lupe is a wonderful cook and is always there to deliver her best with a smile. Steve and David are the best, always friendly. Me and my work wife really enjoy being there and fooling around with them all. I've ordered several different plates and I have no complaint about a single thing there. And their coffee is one of the best, its thanks to them I even drunk it. This is definitely a go to hidden little gem.

Gables Cafe always comes in clutch for the morning colada or that last minute pan con bistec for lunch. So happy to work only a block away! P.S. I guess I'm suppose to take the picture of the food before I eat half of it but you know..... hunger

There are certain work days when you just need a complete pick me up in the morning. On those days, you can count on Gables Café to provide the cheapest, tastiest and heartiest breakfast to get you going. Their staff is super sweet. They make you feel like family. Gables Café has a variety of breakfast items at very reasonable prices. I actually feel as if I am ordering from a Latin Café in Hialeah (although this small locale is in the heart of Coral Gables). This morning I woke up starving and so I decided to order their breakfast platter, which consists of eggs (made to your liking), ham/bacon/turkey or sausage, tostadas (or fries) and a café con leche - all for the low price of $4.99 [insert shocked emoji face here]! I cannot even begin to describe what a great deal this is. The portions are perfect and the café con leche is on point (not too dark/light and not too sweet). You can eat in, order take out or even opt for delivery. Regardless of the method you select to receive your breakfast, it will always be tasty and warm when it arrives.

First time I went here it was pretty good. Picked up the chicken bacon ranch sandwich. All good. Today I ordered breakfast for delivery. My job is less than 3 blocks from here but after an hour and a half I still didn't get my food. I called the restaurant and got a busy signal so I contacted Yelp customer service. Yelp said they got in touch with the restaurant and that the driver had gone to the wrong location. Never got a call from the restaurant or anything and they haven't refunded my money. I'll have my bank cancel the payment though so it'll be ok. To sum it up. Go for pickup and you'll be happy. Order delivery and buyer beware.

Amazing cafe. Staff is always friendly and the food is always good. If you are in the area, I highly suggest that you give it a shot. Home made sauces and the food is made with the love that only a family owned restaurant can provide.

I recently started working in the coral gables area and looking for places to have lunch I found this Cafe and I wanted to give it a try because my friend told me the food was very good. I order lunch and I got Moros with shredded chicken and french fries and it was sooo sooo good , the cafe is a small family business, the service is amazing the place is very clean and the food well I already said it amazing. I order today their breakfast and also was good , my eggs came out the way I ask for and they also deliver , this will be def my new favorite place

I work in the nearby area and I love this cafe!! They are so quick and efficient. The options are amazing. CROQUETAS are amazing !! Cafe con leche is perfect. My favorite sandwich is the chicken and bacon ranch. Definitely order for them or stop by if you have a chance.

I work super close by and I just recently discovered this secret place. The best coffees in Coral Gables! And I am told the owner has been operating it for 15 years! What an admiration, and she's Nicaraguan like me! Shops and restaurants come and go, but this one is here to stay. Happy to have discovered it. Also they are super nice, homie and welcoming! Plus very fast delivery! Keep on with the success!

This is the best place in the gables for food that's great and isn't pretentiously over priced. The food is consistently good and the delivery is always on time and communicative. A great meal at a great cost unlike any you'll find In the area. Highly recommended.

If you in gables and want some real homemade food just like eating at home this is the place to go the coffee is really good too and the fresh juice they make complete this place they got everything and is just really good to let pass..

love Lupe's chicken soup with rice but more than anything her meat soup is soooo yummy. Also, love the Pan con Bistek (Cuban Style Steak Sandwich). Service is also great, Steven and David are super cool and fast delivery which is important too.
