Gagopa Karaoke

First time karaoke here in Korean town and I love it! the place is in the 3rd floor but thankfully there is an elevator. The place looks fun with all the colorful lights and the staff are super friendly. We paid $12/hr per person for 8 people. We didn’t buy any drinks or food. The restroom is clean with complimentary sanitary napkin if you need it :)

Me and a bunch of friends came here and we were actually pretty shocked, it looked nothing like the pictures and actually was lame and run down. The staff was unfriendly and I saw a cockroach run from a corner. Tons of better places out there.

Byob and byof!!! Door guy extremely strict about ID so don't forget yours. Some of the songs have the wrong lyrics (hilarious) or the timing is off (annoying). They have a huge number of songs though I wish there was more indie (sooo many Spanish songs though, awesome). Overall? The best. This place is an integral part of the fabric of my NY life, having hosted multiple birthdays here over the years and it never fails to be an awesome, memorable time. The vibe is slightly kitschy-cool, read: absolutely perfect, like dated but kept very clean and the rooms look cool in photographs. Everyone who works there is cool. Absolutely love it.

Horrible horrible place, first time I went there they rejected our confirmation that we had. Apparently if you don’t get a text but get an email then the confirmation doesn’t work and you’re denied from the place. Absolutely ridiculous, an email confirming shouldn’t be sent if it’s not actually confirmed. We made plans and they just brushed it off like it’s no big deal that our confirmation was fake. Doesn’t make sense. Then we go a second time and actually make it in and get a room because we got a real confirmation and the service, rooms everything was horrible no updated music, so dirty and smelly. I will definitely never go back to this place even if it’s the last place available!

For the price, and BYOB it’s pretty good. Their system with book (with sticky pages) and the numbers punching gets frustrating! They don’t have newer songs, the latest ones are at the back of the book which I only found 30 minutes after searching.

We discovered Gagopa more than 10 years ago and it is still by far my go to karaoke spot in NYC. I'm so glad they made it through the pandemic! Somehow, they managed to keep prices down, staff is always accommodating, and they have a good selection of songs. The BYOB / BYOF is the icing on the cake. 10% off if you pay with cash.

This was so so much fun! They have great prices. And people can DoorDash food while you’re there. They have a great song selection. Definitely going back.

Solid karaoke spot in Ktown -- gets the job done in an efficient way! We've always been able to get last minute reservations here, which is great! I've been twice and am overall pretty happy with the experience for big groups 6+ people, It's $9/person/hour which is probably among the best rates in the city, with a discount if you pay cash. Also appreciate that the spot is BYOB! There is also a gratuity automatically applied when you visit. The downside is that the karaoke technology is a bit dated and they don't always have the latest songs. You queue songs by looking up codes on your phone and typing it into their karaoke system, and it takes some time for the latest songs to get loaded. Unfortunately even some older, popular songs weren't recognized when we tied typing them in. We also weren't sure if there was the option, but it would be nice to be able to sing alongside the artist (vs just having the instrument haha), which we couldn't figure out. I would recommend two hours if you're with a big group, I've liked the spot, and it always gets the job done when you're in the mood for group karaoke!

Cool karoake place to checkout in NYC! The rooms are small, but they can fit a bunch of people (our group was 14 strong). They have a large selection of songs to choose from and they have a website where you can queue songs up. The rooms are well sound proofed, so you can't hear the music from the other rooms. It's also BYOB so make sure to bring your drinks and snacks beforehand. It does get a bit hot in the room, especially with a large group, so make sure to hydrate (and keep those vocal cords moist!). It would also be nice to have the option to connect via aux to play some songs that weren't on the list. We asked and they said you couldn't, although taking a look at some of the reviews here, it was possible at some point... Overall 4/5!

Not much to say about this place. It's your typical old-school, book-and-remote control type karaoke spot. The sound system is decent. Unfortunately, the AC was broken in half the rooms, so we were steaming inside. However, it's very affordable and BYOB, which is a nice perk.

Song lists need some updating but you can connect your phone to play YouTube or whatever song playlist you desire!! Space itself aren't as soundproof as we were able to hear the rooms next to us clearly. Nonetheless, we had a great time in each others company. 10% off if you pay in cash. Tip not included. They have Soju bottles for sale or you can bring your own bottles???

ever since I spent my bday here, I've been dying to go back! this place is soo quick with their service. they provide cups, napkins, and even gifted me with a free bottle of champagne for my bday. absolutely love that it's BYOB! insanely good prices and a wide selection of songs to choose from. such a fun time here, and there doesn't seem to be a limit for the room, but it is pay per person per hr.

First time karaoking in NYC and my friends brought me to this place! It was a little hidden and you have to go up the stairs to the second floor (2-3 flight of stairs). The private rooms could accomodate approx up to 9 people with the amount of space/seating available. You have the option of picking English vs Korean bank. The English song bank was pretty solid with a good 90% of most go-to karaoke songs. The sound isolation was also pretty decent. Mics came with the covers. Loved how they also provided 2 tambourines. Only thing is that our keyboard to input songs is pretty sensitive so we had to be very careful. They are BYOB but they also sell alcohol/water! Prices were very reasonable (if 1-3 people, $30 for 1 hour; if 4+, $9/person for 1 hour) and they let us extend 30 mins. As with many other Asian places, you get a discount if you bring cash.

Like the other Koreatown karaoke places, it's located on a higher floor up a tiny elevator. The private rooms are not too big and it is a no frills place but this place is great for an inexpensive night out with friends. Its a BYOB place so you save on drinks. They even provide you with cups. Besides saving on alcohol, they charge only $9 per person per hour if you have a group of 4 people or less. The song selection is very good too especially if you like pop music. If you are a fan of rock music, then you will not be able to find everything.

This place was so cool! It reminded me of japan where you walk up narrow stairs and arrive at this hole in the wall spot with christmas lights strung everywhere. We were able to walk in with a group of 5 on a tuesday night. The drinks are reasonably priced. They have microphone condoms, and a QR code to quickly find songs. The song selections are very good too, they had everything we wanted.

I have a lot of good memories coming here years ago, but there's no way I'm going back by the way I was treated recently. I was on a call when I entered, so I sat down in the reception area to finish my call. They treated me like I was some kind of criminal, and I repeatedly signaled to them to wait a minute for me to finish the call. After I finished, I told them who I was and why I was there, but there was some kind of confusion about my identity and the need to give them a credit card. At one point, the old woman marched over to me and held out her hand aggressively, demanding that I give her the candy wrappers. Lady, I am perfectly capable of tossing my own trash! With few exceptions, workers here are so rude and unprofessional. The sound systems, video screens and music selections are really not that great. I would recommend going somewhere else. Ready to make good memories elsewhere!

Super nice and helpful staff! I suggest reserving a room in advance, doing BYOB and BYOF, and paying in cash (for a 10% discount).The price can't be beat! Their song books have a decent selection and they have a newer, more expanded selection that can be accessed through a QR code.

100% do not recommend. Scheduled 8:30 to 1:30 pm not once in the email did they mention $9 per head, it ended up being $9 per head PER HOUR. Absolutely nothing mentioned that, nothing they promised was also made... free champagne for the birthday girl or $9 person charge all day ??? Don't waste your money on this place unless you want to be taken advantage of. Ended up spending $600 on only 8 people in total not even for the full hours people showed up towards the last hour. We brought our own stuff there was no service except the free ice and room which we left clean !!! Do not recommend.

Great BYOB karaoke spot in k-town that also sells super cheaper wine / beer / champagne. Some beers were $2 each! The song selection is extensive here and each room had the AC cranking. the mics worked well and everything was clean. They also offer 10% off if you pay with cash (although the ATMs only let you take out $200 at a time). We ended up paying $300 for 2 hours with 15 people.

They are 21+ and check IDs but BYOB! Karaoke is in English unlike some places that are in Korean. The remote is easy and simple to use. They also have an ATM to use

If you're looking to have a great time on a budget and you're able to BYOB, this is the place to go. Does it feel a bit more lower end than other karaoke places in ktown? For sure. But is that bad given how cheap it is and that you can bring in your own drinks? No. That's exactly what you should come here for. The staff are generally nice, and they are pretty good with management, as there always seem to be a room open or almost open. There aren't always songs that you might want, but there are enough, and you'll have a great time.

One of my go to noraebang places in ktown! The last visit we came without reservation but there was a room open -it was the first time I've come here where the room was English only. They have a QR code that links you to a platform where you can search songs, which comes in handy. They also have binders of the songs as well. They have great service - bringing water and soju, anything else you need (you have to leave your room and ask at the front).

A couple of friends and I came for a get together one night for some karaoke and drinks. The place is being your own bottle so if you have something that you would prefer to drink I would recommend bringing it. They didn't really have any soft drinks when we were there. Just cola and ginger ale in terms of options. The servers were nice but what they didn't explain to us when we came in was that it's an extra charge for BYOB. We asked them as we were getting the room if there was an extra charge and they told us no so when we saw it on the bill, we felt deceived. We had a good time singing but next time we will just pregame at a dive bar or another spot in K-Town before coming

Celebrated my birthday here last night. Loved being able to use my phone to search for songs while others used the book. BYOB & food. They had a bottle opener in the room and covers for the microphones. Affordable and fun plus 10% off if you pay in cash. Would return for sure.

The songs are old and the system is bad which is so hard to find the sings you like. The server even had a problem to navigate the karaoke system. Price is average.

Super fun BYOB karaoke spot. You can bring whatever you want and the staff will provide cups and ice. Good selection of songs although the remote is a little tricky to use. Just make sure you reserve enough time - the staff is nice but they get busy so if someone shows up to use the room they reserved you'll have to go.

I made a reservation 3 weeks in advance, but the staff was accommodating of day-before changes The staff upgraded us to the largest room (no charge), stored our drinks and a birthday cake while we were out for dinner, provided us with a cooler with ice, plates and utensils, gave us a complementary bottle of champagne for a birthday, notified us when our reservation was coming to an end and gave us a 10% discount for paying with cash. I would highly recommend this place to others!

All of these karaoke places tend to mesh together after a night of binge drinking/screaming. Gagopa is one of the few that's always mentioned along with Sing Sing, and the Duets. This place is good. It's BYOB but like some other reviewers said, they haven't ever checked out bags. (NOT SAYING YOU SHOULD BRING IN LIQUOR) They offer a cash discount still, and have a weekday/early afternoon deal. I like all the light outside of the rooms. It's kind of trippy. And they offer tampons in the women's bathroom. Which have saved me at least once. They let us bring cake/food with no cutting fee. They have a huge song selection but let's be honest-- most of your friends sing the same 20 songs everytime you come to karaoke. Staff is always friendly and helpful. It's usually a staple on my, "Where should we sing" list.

Came here with a large group of friends (probably 20+ people) on a Thursday and they were quick to accommodate. They IDed everyone upon entry, so remember to bring ID! The staff were extremely helpful and came in multiple times to help us as we accidentally muted the karaoke machine and paused and were just generally a bit confused. The song selection is definitely not the most up to date in ktown (e.g., they only had 3 BTS songs), but if they have the songs that you want, then it's great. I am 99% sure they overcharged us, but y'know what? I had a good time anyway and that's what matters! Our group was fairly big, but they accommodated us fairly quickly. They checked our IDs and vaccination cards upon entry - and were always just a flight of stairs away if we needed help. At a couple of points, our mics gave off some pretty terrible feedback (but I think it was because the mics were too close together). While the alcohol is definitely overpriced, it is convenient and helps you keep the party going. Overall, would come back!

Speakers too loud. Not the best selection of songs. A lot of voice overs in the music itself and sometimes the songs don't match up with lyrics (issues with timing).. eh .. there's better spots in the area

So this place used to be BYOB but has now obtained a liquor license and sells soju and alcohol (and some $2 odd selection of beers). Overall, this place has a great selection of songs and you can't go wrong for $9/pp each hour karaoke.

I've used Gagopa for several bookings and every time it's great. Made a reservation for this past Saturday and had about 10-14 people in attendance. I made the reservation 2 weeks prior but I've done it 1 week prior before. BYOB - just don't bring liquor. 10% cash discount and free birthday bottle of champagne for your group. Use them for your next party!! $9 per person per hr. Doesn't get more affordable than that. They also have great staff to back it up!

Amazing place to sing karaoke with friends! The room space is big enough to fit plenty of people and the song selection is amazing. I will definitely visit again because the time went by too quick

Underrated, late-night karaoke spot with a pretty extensive song list and super affordable private rooms that are BYOB and BYOfood. $10 a person per hour. 4.5/5 stars as a night spot.

Have been coming here for birthday parties for 3 years. Honestly outstanding, hands-down the best Karaoke joint in town. SO cheap for what you get, BYOB, amazing location, SO MUCH FUN, great selection, alcohol available for purchase outside - just SO good every single time. Definitely book a reservation in advance, this place gets packed fast. The rooms are clean, big, and super fun. Staff is amazing and super helpful as well!

Best karaoke in New York I've been to. No frills - just fun! BYOB but also had soju, beer, white claws, etc. for purchase. Extremely well priced, good song selection (lacking Disney music but still). We had 9 people but room definitely could've fit more and we had room to go crazy. Will absolutely be going back!

Stopped by with a few friends on a Friday night without reservations. They were extremely accommodating and let us stay. Its BYOB and BYOF which is a big plus! They also provided us with free shrimp crackers and bottled water! The only downside is that you need to flip through a big book to look up songs, but other than that- we had a good time!

Perfect place for a fun night out in Koreatown- you can either reserve a room online or show up and see the availability. It is cheaper if you pay in cash. Many many songs available in mostly English and Spanish (pretty sad there weren't many Korean options); you can look through the books to find them or use the search feature online for more ease. I loved that they had the little tambourines to play along while people sang. It's also an aesthetically pleasing place with cute lights everywhere. 10/10 would go again

One of the few BYOB Karaoke joints in NYC! The prices are also quite reasonable, especially if you have a larger party. (rooms are pretty accommodating of a medium/large group) Service is nice and there's a pretty wide variety of songs to choose from. The only reason why I give it a 4 out of 5 is because one of the times I went there were issues with our microphone, but other than that this is a affordable and fun place to spend a weekend night!

Like, I've never done reserve-a-room Karaoke before and I have TOTALLY missed out on my life lol! What an absolutely FUN thing to do w a group of friends or family or whatever. It's BYOF and BYOB but no hard likka and it's right smack off tourist central(34th), in K-town. They provide the paper utensils and misc stuff. The place is pretty clean, bathrooms clean...They also provide you w big binders of a vast music selection from country gospel, rap....you name it! And also with it being in K-town you'll find plenty of food and drink! (mmm....EXPENSIVE Bonnchon chicken! wink wink!) I had such a great time my voice is so hoarse from all the singing, hoots and hollas Blast of a time Highly recommend:-D

Hosted my birthday there and had a great time. The staff was super helpful and friendly, the ease of byof and byob was perfect for a big group. Pretty big catalogue of songs maybe not the biggest but certainly cover enough ground to make for an eclectic mix. The controller for the songs itself is very sensitive so just be careful of accidentally skipping someone's song :)

One of the few noraebang/karaoke places in/around ktown that you have a shot at booking last minute. The decor and feel is very 1990s Korean noraebang. Bare bones, but has everything you need.

Go somewhere better - $77/small room/hour (cannot be used towards food/drinks like most places) - Discount if you pay in cash - No food/drink allowed - The song-picking process was ancient and took forever - We went through two song books and entered each corresponding number on a pad - They don't have the original track for any song, it's just the backing track - The mic wasn't working for the first bit - On the bright side they have relatively new songs - They don't offer water, you have to pay for it - It was really sweet of them to bring bottles of water and two packets of snacks at the end - There are better options in the city

don't let the shady entrance scare you away! The entrance to the building is pretty hard to find. take the elevator up to the 3rd? floor (theres a sign inside the elevator to see which floor to go to) the place itself is pretty clean, they have lots of alcohol to choose from. they also checked our ID once we walked in so it might be 18+ or 21+ (we didn't buy any alcohol) also if you're going to sing korean songs, ask for them to make sure your room can play korean songs so they don't start the timer while they're changing the system. If they do, ask them to reset the timer for 3 of us, our total was around $34? for one hour. I think its ~$34 for groups of 1-4 people, but just call ahead and ask in case. they gave us complimentary water bottles once we were done singing too!

Highly recommend Gagopa Karaoke! Really great and inexpensive place to celebrate with friends. Their song selection is pretty expansive, the place is BYOB, and its about $9 per person per hour. If you pay with cash, its 10% cheaper which is also a great way to save.

Plenty of rooms + BYOB + working mics + lots of updated song books = 5-star karaoke experience. They led us into a room, closed the door and let us rock out for hours. What went down in that room? Let's... not talk about it. For real, I hope those rooms are soundproof bc we can't carry a tune at all. Help was there if we needed it, and they had utensils and cups available for anyone bringing booze or food, but you won't need too much help getting everything set up. It's super fun to BYO, but they have a vending machine with some booze in it (and there's a different bar on the second floor) if you forget or have stage fright and absolutely need to chug some sauce before you hit the mic. No frills, all fun. Go for it! Note: don't let the 5-stars fool you, it's still pretty divey in here, but they set you up for a roaring good time

I heard about this place from a friend, and I am so glad I chose to celebrate my birthday here! Loves: + Super friendly staff. They are SO nice and accommodating! :) + BYOB and BYOF. This is everything. + Lots of good song choices. + Lots of books to go around. + Fun lighting in the rooms. + Complimentary water at the end. + Clean karaoke rooms. The only caveat is there aren't a ton of restrooms here but I didn't find that to be an issue and neither did anyone in my big group. To Gagopa, THANK YOU for being such an amazing karaoke place! My friends and I had so much fun there and we can't wait to come back. :)

So fun! I forgot how fun karaoke was after a night of drinking. Open late... Probably all night as we left at 4:30am. Rooms are pretty spacious, comfortably fit 10 of us. A lot of music to choose from in all different language. Love that you can purchase drinks. Try their flavor soju, the pineapple one in particular. It's extremely delicious! For $35/HR for 4 people it's pretty good. Only 2 mics per room. Some snacks are provided. Place looks pretty corny... Lots of lights.

Lit!!!!! It was really fun and the staff are friendly. I would definitely recommend and go back!!! $15 soju and/or byob.
