"Gai Chicken & Rice revolves around khao mun kai, poached or fried chicken served with a savory mound of seasoned rice, sweet and savory dipping sauces, and a cup of chicken broth. It is as delicious and satisfying a meal as you’ll find for $15 in Fort Lauderdale, which has become our favorite place for Thai food in all of South Florida (see also: Larb Thai-Isan and Nour). But there are more dishes here that are worth your time, like fried chicken skin, roasted pork, and khanom jeen nam ngiaw, a noodle soup with ground pork and braised pork ribs. For dessert, they offer about five different flavors of Thai custard served over fried brioche toast, which we haven't tried just yet. But we'll be back." - Ryan Pfeffer

Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Drinks and food: 4.5/5 Price: $$ Overall: 5/5 (highly recommend) I had dinner there Thursday around 5:30pm. We got seated right away after we arrived. The server was attentive and nice. We ordered the Thai ice coffee ($6), brown sugar ice latte ($6), satay chicken skewers ($9), pouched chicken rice ($15) and fried pork rice ($16). We got our drinks within 5 minutes and had the appetizer within 10 minutes. The rice came about 15 minutes in. The drinks were not too sweet. The brown sugar syrup was not well mixed. I would advised to shake the drink first before drinking. The creamy peanut sauce and pickle vinaigrette sauce that came with the satay chicken skewers were so good. They balanced the flavor of the satay chicken well. The satay chicken and the pouched chicken were very flavorful and tender. Although the fried pork was a little dried but the eel sauce, onion vinaigrette sauce and the minced garlic pepper sauce added great flavor to the fried pork. I would definitely go back again. I'd like to try the BBQ pork rice and the fried chicken salad appetizer.

Noticed their high rating and decided to stop by for lunch—they didn’t disappoint! The menu is limited, but everything we tried was delicious and clearly made with quality ingredients. The space looks new and clean, and I learned they’ve been open for about 10 months. I sampled a variety of dishes, and everything was solid, but the standout for me was the fried chicken rice—crispy, flavorful, and satisfying. The drinks were great too; the longan drink was especially refreshing. This is authentic, yummy Thai street food done right. Service was excellent—the staff was attentive and made sure our water glasses were always full. Definitely worth a visit!

I had lunch with my best friend and we both can’t stop talking about our delicious lunch! The most authentic Thai spot in Fort Lauderdale! Their team is amazing, everyone was so friendly and attentive. I will be going back very soon! All I can think about it’s the yummy curry and how their cream soda drink got me feeling so nostalgic from childhood memories.

Amazing, authentic, flavorful…. I could go on and on. The rice is much more than any other rice you’ve had. The spring rolls are amazing, we haven’t stopped talking about them. They’re long, skinny, and crispy - a must order!! We cannot wait to go back and try other dishes. A true hidden gem.

Google
Solid option for good Thai-style chicken and rice (khao mun gai). The chicken is cooked perfectly. The rice nicely flavored. The sauce is a little on the sweeter side of what is normally offered. The chicken soup is excellent. The service is very attentive and the staff are friendly. When craving authentic Thai food, this is a solid option.

I decided to visit after reading the great reviews, and I was truly impressed. From the moment I stepped in, everything was perfect the shop's decor, the tables, the glasses, and even the Thai music playing in the background. It felt just like being in Thailand. Every dish was bursting with authentic Thai flavors, just as Thai people enjoy. I can’t wait to come back and try more, especially the Thai desserts and ice cream!

If you’re a fan of authentic Thai flavors, this spot is a solid choice—especially for their signature chicken rice. The ambiance is fantastic, with a cool, street-food-inspired vibe that makes you feel like you’re in Thailand. The flavors of each dish are well-balanced, not overly Westernized, and stay true to traditional Thai cuisine. That said, I personally think they could go even bolder with the seasoning. The appetizer dumplings were a standout—juicy, meaty, and packed with flavor. The pork entrees were rich and flavorful, but I’d love if they amped up the spice even more. They do offer a good variety of chili options, including fresh Thai chili, which is a great touch. The Pad Thai was excellent—authentic, well-balanced, and not overly sweet or salty. The poached chicken was tender and well-seasoned but could use a bit more umami depth. Overall, a solid Thai spot with great authenticity and a strong menu. Bonus points for being under the same ownership as Larb Thai Isan, which explains the attention to detail in their flavors. Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving real Thai street food

Google
The best Thai restaurant in Florida. After trying their food today I can honestly say it’s the best I’ve ever had . The curry was so tasty and the fried chicken was amazing . The pad Thai had so much flavor . Definitely my new favorite Thai restaurant. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Will be a regular customer. Thanks again .

Yelp
Had to drop off our cellular shades in Fort Lauderdale. Gai Chicken and Rice was another one that caught my eye (with a 4.9 star rating) while yelping for good eats in the area. They are famous for their thai-style hainanese chicken rice. We ordered fish cakes for appetizer and for our main, we split a combo of hainan chicken and roasted bbq red pork that came with 3 different kinds of sauce. The flavors were authentic and really delicious. I love hainan chicken and have tried several versions (chinese, malaysian and thai). What I have not tried until this time was the roasted bbq red port. The meat was tender and flavorful. Service was friendly and prompt. Would definitely come back next time we're in the area.

Yelp
We just came to get some chicken and rice, but walking in, we were so surprised by how cute the place is! From the server's uniforms, to the decorations, and the tables and cutlery! My only complaint is that the server's, while being super friendly and helpful, didn't really give us much time to look at the menu before trying to take our orders. And when we were looking over options together (as we were planning on sharing all of our dishes), if we mentioned a dish to each other, the server thought we were ordering it and would start writing it down. So we had to be like, no don't put that down yet. We ended up getting the crab x krab truffle rangoons. I loved these! (Even though I just love crab rangoons in general.) There was a good amount of crab in them and the fried wrapper was really thin and light. I didn't really taste any truffle though. And I wish we got more than four. The chive cakes were also a bit hit. It was crispy and chewy and the sauce was delicious. The thai tea was really good too. The thai tea flavor was really strong and it was the perfect amount of sweetness. The khao mun kai, I think, is a must get. The chicken was so juicy and paired with the sauces was delicious. The rice was flavorful and not dry at all. And the soup that came with it was really light and tasty. The khanom jeen nam ngeaw was a little too spicy for my taste. But I love that you can assemble your bowl to your taste. It's just hard to separate the noodles because it all sticks together. The panang kai todd was one of my favorites! The peanutty curry was creamy and a good balance between spicy and sweet. And the chicken was so crispy. On its own, it was a little too crispy. But with the curry, it was able to hold on to its crispiness while being covered in sauce. We also tried the pandan custard toast with coconut ice cream. The pandan flavor was really strong. And I like that they cut up the buttery toast into bite size pieces beforehand. The coconut ice cream was a perfect addition too. I was worried that it would be too strong or heavy and overpower everything. But it was actually light and refreshing with the heaviness of the bread.

Yelp
When you step foot inside the restaurant you are immediately transported out of Fort Lauderdale. The people who work there are so welcoming and kind. There are colors EVERYWHERE. Even the tables have a nice pattern. They also have the Ovaltine tins, Thai tea tins and cups with a rooster on it for display in the kitchen. Their menu is on the smaller side which usually means they really focus on their dishes. We started off with the crab x krab truffle rangoon had a nice twist and was much better than other places. The entrees blew our minds. I got the Khanom Jeen Nam Ngeaw which was a pork curry that had a nice amount of spice that wasn't overwhelming. It kind of reminded me of a stew because it had ground meat and spare ribs with the meat around the bone which basically fell off. There are also tiny side dishes with bean sprouts, lettuce, cucumbers and pickled vegetable to add into it. It comes with 3 small rounds of vermicelli noodles to eat it with. The bowl was empty at the end of the meal. My boyfriend got the Panang Kai Todd which is a curry with a rich nutty flavor and it came with the juiciest fried chicken on top. The consistency of the curry was perfect and smooth. Chicken, curry, and rice was a bite made in heaven. Their dessert menu was full of toast options!! From taro to pandan to ovaltine to Thai tea to a cookie one. It's one of those custard flavors over crispy pan fried rich butter brioche bread. I had that as a dessert growing up and can't wait to try theirs the next time I return! I was just too full from dinner this time around. 10/10 gem of a place and will definitely return!

Yelp
Already left a review that said pretty much everything, but wanted to add a couple more pics from another time I came here. Great food, great service, fun atmosphere.

Ashley K.

Yelp
The food here is AMAZING! I ordered the Panang Kai Todd. The Panang was super flavorful and the chicken was juicy and crispy all at the same time. We also ordered the crab x krab rangoon which was also really good. The restaurant was super cute and clean. The service was also really great and super quick. Definitely a new go to!

Yelp
Poached chicken with rice is great. This place serve authentic Thai food. The dinner room is decorated like how it was in the old days. Servers are friendly.

Bettina B.

Yelp
This place is a unique new restaurant with many choices of Thai street style cuisine. Only my second time eating lunch at Gai Chicken. The food is fresh and full of flavor. The place is colorful and everyone is welcoming and friendly. I wish I lived closer. Check them out you wouldn't be disappointed

Yelp
This Thai place is on US 1 just south of Commercial Boulevard in a small strip mall. The eatery seats about 30 in a brightly decorated dining room. At lunch time, most of the patrons were Asian (Thai?). We had the chive pancake appetizer, which was really a plate full of cubes of chive squares made with rice flour and grilled. It came with a dipping sauce that added a nice flavor to the crunchy, chewy, scrumptious appetizer. For lunch we ordered the wide noodles (pad see ew) with grilled chicken and the BBQ pork with egg noodles and lump crab meat. Both were hearty and delicious. Our main server was very helpful and her assistant (who brought the dishes and cleared the tables) was very congenial and fast. Both were the only servers for 4 tables with about 16 people. Prices were reasonable with lunch for two plus an appetizer, tax, and tip at about $60. (And there was no extra charge for a credit card use.) We can't wait to go back and try some of the rice dishes.

Crystal S.

Yelp
Walking into this restaurant felt like I was in a colorful retro street festival. Cool posters, every surface patterned or painted, plenty of rooster images. I already had a good feeling about this spot. Yes, I do the very American thing and order a pad Thai every time I go to a Thai restaurant. But I can at least say that I know a good one, and loved it with the crispy beef. Their rice plates are really the main star and I enjoyed the crispy pork belly rice plate a lot more than the noodles. Pairing the food with a strong Thai tea sealed the deal. Great to balance out the saltiness in the food. Service wise, there wasn't much lacking. All I really care about is my water consistently getting refilled and I really never had to ask here. Plus they didn't rush us to finish and pay. $$ ? It's not cheap Thai food but the experience is great and the food truly does taste delicious. Worth coming to with friends.

Yelp
I must say, once I walked into the restaurant, I felt like I was INSTANTLY teleported to Thailand. The whole restaurant from the outside to the bathroom was decorated to reflect the streets of Thailand, bringing Thai street food and ambiance to life. I love how cute the bathroom was and the cups they use to serve water. It was definitely symbolic to the name of the restaurant. I love how they try to bring a lot of Thai local items on the menu such as the ovaltine drink, longan tea, pandan toast, ovaltine toast and Kaya toast. The ovaltine drink basically taste like malt chocolate milk which I LOVE! Thai iced tea is a no brainer, taste just like a Thai iced tea should. The longan tea was a tad bit sweet for me mixed with some tinge of herbal flavor but it really brought out the sweetness of the fruit. Moving on to the food, it's quite a small menu, and the kao mun kai dish with rice brings me back to the hainan chicken dish they have in China. I think I appreciate more the flavor infused in the rice and thought the chicken was nothing special. I did let the Khanom Jeen nam ngeaw trick me because the spice kicked in afterwards!! I love the cigarillo egg rolls! They are such a twist in the regular spring rolls. I absolutely killed the dessert at the end. The pandan flavor was pretty strong and it is an acquired taste. It's like a natural, herbal mixed with vanilla flavor. Overall, I would come back for a quick simple lunch and dessert.

Yelp
This place is absolutely amazing!!! If you want incredible authentic Thai food; you must come here. We tried pretty much everything on the menu and it was incredible! I loved their fried pork and the dessert is amazing! The staff is great too!

Yelp
This restaurant is so authentically Thai that there were many items on the menu that I wasn't familiar with at all. And google can only do so much in explaining the food and recipes. But be adventurous and you'll have a very solid dining experience. We were familiar with the location on the corner of a strip center right off US 1/Federal Highway. We'd been here before when a restaurant called Buoy One was located here and to a few others before them. One big advantage they will have is that the same company that owns Gai Chicken also owns Larb Thai a bit north and Beg for More Izakaya in Delray Beach. The restaurant is not large and there isn't that big a lot outside for parking, but when we came for lunch, it was not very busy. After looking over the menu, I decided to try their chicken satay. Three small skewers of perfectly cooked marinated chicken were on the appetizer plate. There was a tasty peanut based sauce and a small dish with onions and cucumbers in a sweet vinegar (like sunomono) along with two pieces of white toast (!). The chicken was very good dipped into the peanut sauce. The cucumbers were a refreshing bite. I loved the sweet vinegar and saved it to use over my salad. For my "main" meal, I got their Thai style salad, Nam Tok. This comes with fried chicken per the menu, but I requested fried pork instead. There were ample pieces of meat on top of the mixed greens and shredded carrots. A spicy vinaigrette with tamarind dressing came on the side. It was a bit too vinegary for me, so I used my left-over satay sauces instead. My husband had their "highly recommended" khao moo dang. This was mound of brown rice with barbecued "red" pork and fried thinly sliced sausage pieces in a brown sauce alongside. There was also an egg, slightly cooked and cut in half, and four thinly sliced pieces of cucumber on the plate. A small bowl of chicken broth came with it, but separately. He said it was very good. We had very good service throughout. We were too full for any dessert, but the gentleman at the next table had a dish of coconut ice cream that looked wonderful. We are so glad we came to try this new restaurant.

Yelp
Four of us adventured into Gai for a Saturday lunch experience. Upon entering the colorful comfy restaurant we were warmly greeted. Perusing the menu, we were presented with many exotic (to this Yelper's) dishes. Two of my co-diners were set on chicken and rice. One ordered hers fried, the other decided on poached. My other buddy and I opted for a savory stew called Khanom Jeen Nam Ngeaw. Containing pork (on the bone), tomatoes, dried flowers and tons of spices, it was not too hot for me. On the other hand, my compatriot was surprised but happy. We started with some cylindrical spring rolls that were crunchy and nice. I quenched myself with some strawberry tea. Let me state that it was interesting. Not my favorite dish but out of the norm which I was anticipating. Since my gf is doing Keto I got to take her rice home for later. That was some good rice! I ate it all by itself. So the jury's not out. I need to go back and sample something else. Nice addition to the neighborhood.

Yelp
I ordered for pickup and ended up eating outside in the car because I couldn't wait. Everything was absolutely amazing, I can't wait until they have delivery option because this will be a weekly must!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Yelp
The food and services are amazing Must try THAI FOOD The most authentic food I can find in south south Florida

Yelp
AWESOME fresh food!! Incredible customer service from staff!! It's definitely a lunchtime vibe. Cant wait to go back. I had the pork special. YUmmmm the egg rolls all homemade.

Yelp
Delicious new addition to Fort Lauderdale. Went here for lunch and ordered the Poached chicken with rice and shrimp dumpling appetizer. 1st the shrimp dumplings where great nothing here is overly seasoned clean and flavorful. You can add spice with the delicious dipping sauce that accompany each dish. The poached chicken was fresh again not overly seasoned, it was moist and did not disappoint. Great food good highly recommend!

Alan B.

Yelp
You haven't had Thai food like this. You find Pad Thai or sushi on the menu here. It's authentic rice based Thai dishes specializing in different forms of chicken with some few other meat options. I had the Make your Own plate; choosing two meats, the poached chicken and bbq pork with Chinese sausage with the chicken flavored rice. I also had the wonderful steamed wonton dumplings and Thai pink milk. The service was so friendly and caring. I was politely and kindly checked on sincerely multiple times. As some of the menu items are unfamiliar they made great recommendations and answered plenty of questions. I have never been but I feel like they captured a great Thai ambiance inside with Thai music and decorative signage. It is a smaller place with about 10-13 tables with cute decorative tables with floral patterns.

Yelp
GAI Chicken n' Rice is a unique and new Thai street food restaurant. The menu is highly optimized with street food dishes featuring Hainan Chicken Rice (Khao Man Gai) and Khao Moo Dang (BBQ pork and Chinese sausage with chicken rice) as the signature plates. We tried both as a combo plate, and it was excellent. Other exceptional dishes include a dry noodle dish with pork, crab, and wontons (with a side dipping soup). You can also order fried chicken, fried pork, and fried beef with rice or salad. We had the pork as an excellent salad--like a fried pork chop sliced and served with a lime and chili/fish sauce dressing, similar to what's used on Larb or Tiger Tear Salad (Yum Nuea). The only appetizer we tried was the "cigarillo" spring rolls, which were excellent. For dessert, we had the Sung Kaiya Baitoey, a brioche French toast with pandan and coconut milk sauce, accompanied by coconut ice cream--wonderful. Four other specialty desserts are on the menu, as shown in the photos. I expect this place to be utterly packed in no time. They have the equipment for boba teas, though I didn't see a menu for them yet, and the place will have its beer license in a few weeks.

Xeth T.

Yelp
Food is good. The "spring roll" is very creative. Chicken and rice comes with soup, and Uncle Roger will approve lol. The place also a has vibrant southeast Asia vibe, which is great for the overall experience.

F B.

Yelp
Quite a delicious experience! we can't have too many Asian restaurants in the area and this is a classic example of what delicious, freshly made food tastes like. I had the poached chicken with their brown rice and a bowl of this delectable, garlicky broth with a Daikon in it. I honestly could've eaten that broth all day . Friendly service and it was pretty busy at 12:30 which is when I went. I wish this place the best best, I know they will be around a long time.! I heard that they are owned by the same people who own Larb:

Jade T.

Yelp
Food was delicious. I liked my khao mun kai chicken plate - it was very clean tasting and the rice was yummy. My boyfriend enjoyed his meal as well, khanom jeen nam ngeaw which is more on the spicy side. His only "complaint" is that it could've been way spicer. He's a spice monster though. The service was exceptional, helped us on our order and noticed every time our water cup was low. The ambiance was very quaint and decor was cute.

Ilan M.

Yelp
Oh man i love this spot. So happy it's here. The food is so clean and tasty. The soup is so light. Really great spot and I'm a foodie. You have to come try this spot. Get the spring rolls for sure there are like mini cigar style. Highly recommend this spot.

Kimi Y.

Yelp
Stopped by lunch, server greeted and said ok to seat anywhere we wanted. Inside was very colorful and cozy. Ordered porched chicken with flavored rice. It comes with soup, very tender and moist and sauces were flavorful and spicy and sweet kinds, very tasty.

Elena N.

Yelp
Been waiting for a legit hainanese chicken rice place to open in Sth FL - and Gai is just that!! It may be Thai but the Hainanese Chicken Rice, whether u get the original poached or crispy fried chicken - u won't be disappointed! The chicken satay was tender and went well with the peanut sauce. Love that they give u toast to dip into the sauce! The spring rolls were nice and crunchy. Nice 'twist' to them. So many dessert options with Toast & Kaya (coconut jam) with different flavors of jam and ice cream.

Patrick K.

Yelp
Great New Spot Thai restaurant The service was great and the food so yummy Give 10 10 10 10 10 star

Casey O.

Yelp
This place was excellent!! They opened only a few weeks ago and took over what was formerly Buoy One. I've watched it being renovated over the course of the last few months on my drive to and from work. I was super excited to try it, and I saw it had finally opened, so I grabbed my friend on lunch and we went! I ordered the Khao Moo Dang, which is roast barbecue pork, ginger rice, a poached egg, and chinese sausage. It also came with some kind of soup that had a root vegetable I couldn't place but was chock full of spring onions and fried garlic and was SUPER flavorful! The food was FANTASTIC. I literally could not stop shoveling the rice into my mouth. The pork was the perfect texture and flavor, and the sausage (which is not a meat I usually enjoy) was arguably my favorite part of the meal. My friend ordered the fried pork, the poached chicken, and the BBQ pork as her meats, and she was very complimentary on all three. I was not expecting to be blown away so much by the quality and taste--I actually went back after work to take pictures of the inside so I could share because this place needs business! If you're in the area, or even just craving Thai food, I can't recommend this place enough!!

Dilip M.

Yelp
Wow ! If you know and understand Thai cuisine and have lived in Asia than please come try the food here. Everything we tried was exceptional. The Chicken Rice, the crispy pork rice and the crispy chicken skin all were flawless. We didn't come here for large portions, we came for the taste and it didn't disappoint. The desert we had the toast with Pandan Kaya and coconut ice-cream. The restaurant is run by Thai's and the service is very warm. The restaurant ambiance reminded me of a restaurant in Chiangmai ! All I can say is that we will be back !

Sean K.

Yelp
Very solid khao man gai and dumplings served with the most delicious sauces. I could've eaten a bucket of the seasoned rice. Very friendly staff, and I believe they just opened a few days ago. Looking forward to coming back to try some of the sweeter menu items and noodle dishes.

Biki J.

Yelp
Phenomenal... simple, clean yet indescribably delicious. Every bite felt nostalgic yet fresh and new. It's like someone poured their hearts out onto our plates. I was debating on getting dessert... get the dessert.

Patrick F.

Yelp
Wow! This place is phenomenal! It is not a fancy place... It is a very comfortable place for a quick bite and some really authentic Thai cuisine, not all the bells and whistles... But just good Thai food. I couldn't help but imagine that I was in a lunch café in Thailand somewhere. Where every day Thai people would go for lunch. Upon entering, the greeting we got was wonderful from all three employees that were visible... The restaurant was very clean... It was really nicely decorated with a lot of nostalgic Thai decor. Even the bathroom was decorated very fun. The tables are cute as a button! The menu is limited, but everything on it I would imagine is so good. I had the Khao Moo Dang...barbecued red pork slices with chinese sausage. It came with the Thai seasoned rice, a soft boiled egg, fresh cucumber slices, and a cup of broth. The broth so well developed. I could taste what I believe, was ginger, lemongrass, garlic, scallions, really such deep umami flavors . Additionally, it had big chunks of daikon cooked in it, which was a nice touch. They also offered to refill the broth when it ran low, which was a classy touch! My husband got the pad Thai with poached chicken. He doesn't eat red meat or fried so this was an ideal choice for him. The poached chicken was moist, plump and delicious! The pad Thai was presented in a way I've never seen, almost deconstructed;and tasted exquisite! I am not a super fan of pad Thai... But this one was off the charts! We started with an order of crab Rangoon, which the menu said was made with Real crab, and there was plenty of it. Often times I get crab Rangoon and there is just so little crab in it at most Chinese carryout restaurants. At this place it was packed with crab and cream cheese and was, freshly prepared... Not greasy and very, very yummy! We asked them to leave the truffle oil off because we are not fans of truffle oil. The additional sauces that were served with our meals were well-made and had really deep flavors. Nothing we had was super spicy at all! I don't know if there are other things that would have a little more heat to them, but we were very happy with this. I really hope people try this place... I want it to succeed! It is so good and it reminded me of the type of food I would get in "Chinatown" if it were actually "Thaitown" I cannot wait to return and try some of their other menu items. Please give them a shot! SO GOOD!

Jason R.

Yelp
Wow forget all the other chicken places around. This place blows them all to shame. Just noticed them the other day driving south on federal hwy between commercial and Oakland park. The food was amazing the rice perfect and chicken cooked to perfection.

John H.

Yelp
This is my 3rd time here( twice in one evening ) and I am reluctant to give this stellar review , because I don't want this place to get too busy to get a table My in laws are Thailand so I know what authentic is. This Yes sir thank you very good. is the real deal. In most Thai restaurants, front of the house is Thai and back of the house is Mexican, not this place, everyone is Thai. You will love the food and the atmosphere.

Stephanie G.

Yelp
10/10 dinner, wow! My husband and I shared the truffle crab rangoons (dreaming of them as I write this), crispy and flavorful chicken skin, khao mun kai, bbq red pork with lump crab meat and their dessert SUNg kaya in the pandan and Thai tea flavor with a scoop of coconut ice cream. Service was very friendly and attentive. Food came out quickly and was very flavorful. Decor is very colorful and feels so authentic. Absolutely will be back!!!

Lydia D.

Yelp
The BEST Thai food we've had in SoFlo to date!! This restaurant is so fun, love the decor. The service was excellent. Everyone seemed so appreciative that we were there. Our friends introduced us to this restaurant and we all had a great time going together. We had the chicken skin, pad Thai, Khao Moo Todd, and Khao Moo Dang. Everything was a 10/10! I appreciated the descriptions on the menus to help us find the best entree for each of us, but truly seems like you can't go wrong with anything here. I read somewhere that they possibly also own Larb, which we like as well, but I have to say...we love Gai more!! Can't wait to go back

Bee C.

Yelp
The food, drinks, and service are all amazing! Cute little shop in fort Lauderdale that serves authentic Thai food. Everything tastes fresh and flavorful.

Tom W.

Yelp
What a great experience from the first taste of the soup to the outstanding chicken and pork! It's going to a a regular spot for us now!

P H.

Yelp
Very solid and authentic place from the Laab crew so you know it is good. I like the dishes here aren't the typical and it's think people will like this spot it has some quirky interiors and its quick service almost fast food If you visit NYC you will see a lt of Thai Chicken Rice spots popping up so nice to see one here

Erick N.

Yelp
If you enjoy Thai food with an authentic feel you should try Gai Chicken n Rice. The food was outstanding and the service was homestyle Thai. Comfort food: we had the cigarillos and fried chicken skins as appetizers. They are great starters made well and presented well. We had the barbecue pork in three different dishes - outstanding. The menu is focused which is great for a new restaurant. Unfortunately, they were out of the Penang curry though it was late. The staff apologized profusely and I am sure they had plenty the next night. We will be back for the food and the unique atmosphere.

Yelp
The ambience is warm and inviting. The food is AMAZING! Delicious and great portion sizes for the price. The panang kai todd (fried chicken over curry) was stellar. Staff were very friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Tried this place out the other day with some friends and it was amazing! I got the Nam Tok Kai Tood with the fried pork and I've never had something so delicious! It's like a fried pork saucy salad soooo good. It was my first time having that dish too and I'm glad I got to experience it at this restaurant. I also had the Sung Kaya Nom-Sod for dessert and that was AMAZINGGG!!!! Great food and service here can't wait to come back! And the decorations were sooo cute!

Yelp
Best fresh food I've had in Fort Lauderdale in a while. Very friendly and helpful staff. I recommend the spicy fried pork salad.
