All I can say is wow! My husband and I visited Gaia for our honeymoon and we were so impressed and in awe of how perfect everything was. We arrived to Gaia just as the sun was setting, the views of the jungle and waterfall were amazing. The food was very fresh and flavorful. Freddy our waiter, was so friendly and helpful. Chris, the security guard also gave us an impressive card magic show one of the nights we were there. The hut we stayed in had everything we needed including a view of the jungle canopy and was spotless. Every night the housekeeping crew would make sure of that and every morning we were greeted with coffee at our door. Our tour guide Calbert was amazing and gave us the most special and memorable adventures, he’s the best at what he does and did an excellent job of describing the tours we went on. We’re so thankful we stayed at Gaia, experienced the culture of Belize and met some very special people along the way. 10/10, we can’t wait to come back!

My husband, two teenagers and I just spent the four most wonderful nights at Gaia Riverlodge. I cannot say enough good things about the staff, all of whom were exceedingly thoughtful. From the moment we were picked up at the airport, the staff anticipated our needs, shared interesting information, and made our trip unforgettable. We did several of the tours/experiences recommended by Gaia including the trip to Tikal with #ReyesTikal and the ziplining at Calico Jacks. Both were fantastic. We also spent plenty of time swimming in the natural - and most amazing - pool at the bottom of the waterfalls, right on Gaia's property. One day, we walked to the "Big Rock" falls, which was lovely. Cocoa, Gaia's dog, made the trip to Big Rock extra charming. When Cocoa saw we were leaving, she escorted us all the way there. While we were there, she swam with us - but also socialized with the other people at the falls. When we left, she noticed we were leaving and came back with us. The whole experience at Gaia was magical. If you're able to go, you should!

Our family’s stay at Gaia was incredible! The location was stunning, and the service was exceptional. The staff was incredibly friendly, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We especially appreciated Freddy, who took the time to learn our names. Chris’s evening show was a highlight – we’ll be sure to look for him in Vegas! The rooms were comfortable and clean, and I loved seeing a new towel animal each day along with a thoughtful note from housekeeping. We also enjoyed relaxing by the waterfall and taking a night walk with Rudy. Our stay at Gaia was unforgettable and a wonderful part of our trip to Belize!

Had a wonderful stay at this charming hotel. From the friendly welcome from Hector, to the attentive meal service from Freddy and Javier, to the private tours facilitated by hotel. Our guide Greg was knowledgeable and vested in Mayan culture. Very professional and experienced with good equipment and fresh Gaia lunch. The morning coffee service was a treat and the rooms clean and comfortable with lovely views and just a special vibe. Lush retreat. Truly a special place with special people.

Freddie and Coco were the highlights. Chris the magician made our minds spin!!..he was damn good to be real:) The food is sooo good we could not stop eating. The farm to table restaurant was much appreciated.

We recently spent four unforgettable nights at Gaia Riverlodge with our in-laws and sister and brother-in-law, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. While the journey to the lodge via a long, bumpy unpaved road tested our endurance, the destination proved well worth the effort.||||Each room at the lodge was cozy and unique, offering the soothing soundtrack of the nearby waterfall to lull us to sleep each night. From the moment we arrived, the staff’s warmth and attentiveness stood out. Freddy, our waiter, was particularly exceptional—he learned our names on the first night and greeted us personally at every meal, adding a thoughtful, personal touch to our stay.||||Our days were filled with adventure and exploration. The majestic Caracol ruins were a highlight; climbing the Caana pyramid rewarded us with breathtaking views of the surrounding jungle. At Xunantunich, we delved into Mayan traditions and scaled the Castillo pyramid, followed by a serene canoe tour through the Barton Creek caves, rich with history. Leisure time was equally magical: hiking to Big Rock Falls and to the Five Sisters Waterfall, and embarking on an exhilarating cave tubing adventure at Jaguar Paw.||||The lodge’s dining experience was delightful overall. The food was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, though it sometimes arrived slowly and wasn’t always piping hot. Despite this minor drawback, the meals were a welcome part of our day, enjoyed amidst the stunning natural backdrop.||||Gaia Riverlodge provided a perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and warm hospitality, making it a trip we will always cherish. If you’re seeking a serene retreat with access to Belize’s natural and cultural treasures, Gaia Riverlodge is a fantastic choice.

First, the whole resort is set in nature surrounded by jungle. The staff and Owner could not be more accommodating and welcoming. I think everyone of their staff could give lessons on customer service!! The food at the restaurant was delicious and we never had a bad meal come out of the kitchen and we ate every meal there. We stayed in the Mountain Cabana and were able to fall asleep listening to the waterfall. It is one of the most romantic spots you can stay!! All of the tour guides are extremely knowledgeable. There are not too many times that my husband and I come back to the same spot, since there are so many places to see in this world, but I would come back here year after year. One of my favorite places and most importantly is because of the people!!!

Wow what a fantastic place to start our first visit to Belize! The pictures on the website don't do the location justice. We were wowed right from the start with the view from the restaurant of the falls below. But I'm getting ahead, the experience really started with a private car pickup from the international airport and an informative and relaxed 2 hour drive to this mountain getaway. Our jungle casita did not have air conditioning, but we were comfortable with the ceiling and floor fan, and windows open to the jungle breeze and nature sounds. The housekeeping staff did an amazing job with our anniversary decorations - thank you! We were there during the off season, and enjoyed a very high staff ratio as a result, and everyone was fantastic. The food was stunningly prepared with fresh ingredients from their on-site farm, and lived up to their kitchen staff's French Laundry credentials. We sprung for the private torch-lit dinner, and the decorations and Javier's service were impeccable...highly recommend it. The rains kept us from doing the cave excursions, but the front desk rescheduled our Caracol tour and swapped us into 90 minute massages instead of a cave excursion. Rick (Ricardo) was our private guide for Caracol. He was an encyclopedia of knowledge, and very gregarious and open about sharing his personal Mayan history with us. The massage venue is on their amazing island in the river. One of the best massages we have ever had! We filled up the rest of our unexpectedly free day with a private guided walk to Big Rock Falls by the lodge dog, Coco 😂. She was our guide and security the entire way, also leading us through the food garden and local jungle paths around the resort. Our only regret is we didn't budget another day, and didn't have better luck with the rains and cave excursions.
