"Ramen’s the main event at this Arlington restaurant, though several appetizers (like shrimp lollipops, Asian wings, steamed buns, and gyoza) are available as well, not to mention a few rice bowls. Gaijin serves a mix of classic ramen styles (tonkatsu, miso) as well as some of their own creations, such as garlic ramen, soft-shell crab ramen, and a Korean-influenced “Bam Bam Ramen” with beef." - Missy Frederick

Stopped here to have dinner on our way back to MD and the ramen was one of the best we've ever had. My child and I both had the tonkotsu ramen only exception was I had spicy version and my child did not. I also got the kimchi which was fantastic. The staff was very polite. Food was a reasonable price. Everything was delicious. Definitely would recommend this place to others and will return next time we're in VA.

We we craving for ramen and came here. The ramen soup was just right and not salty like other places. Customer service was excellent. The two gentlemen that were there served us and they were super friendly. Aside from the ramen soup, we also ordered the spicy chicken buns and man they were so delicious. We ended up ordering two more spicy chicken bun orders. 💪

Came to try this place out after seeing a friend post about it. Tried their Gaijin Garlic. I'd say it was good but definitely not the best ramen out there. The broth was delicious, I feel like it should be served hotter though. Place was okay. Service was good, got seated and served pretty fast. Parking can be challenging. There is a small lot behind the building but I can see where this might be a problem if it was a busier time of the day/week. Also just be careful of you're planning to visit on snowy/really cold days. The sidewalk of the building was untreated. Hopefully this was just today.

I discovered Gaijin Ramen Shop by accident. It was a cold winter night and i just visited a friend in the area and we just had a coffee and after our meeting and was about to head home. I got hungry and was craving for a warm comforting food. I googled for a ramen shop near me and this one popped up and being the adventurous me, i proceed to the place. Parking is horrible. No clear parking available, have to circle around to streets to find one. Ambiance: I think they’re projecting a hip trendy ambiance that will appealbon both young and old and might work for them. Food: People have different tastes ans variety of taste but i consider myself a ramen person, heck i will drive an hour in the middle of the night just to get a ramen when i crave for it. They cllaim that rheir noodles are freshly made in-house. Their steam buns was served cold, and it wasn’t busy when i was there. Bun was kinda dry and the pork belly too. The sauce was somehow different from the usual steam buns i am used to sobit tasted different for me. The ramen, i usually order the base broth which is either shoyu or miso but always go for miso and somehow i kinda liked it but don’t like it. The broth taste was somehow altered by the bokchoy vegetable and it was weird for me to see a bokchoy in my ramen. Their serving is more than enough to fill one person. They have desserts also but ended up gettinf bobas which is ok. Bottomline: i didn’t liked it but i would give it another try again some time if i am in the area again.

Good ramen that won't break the bank. Very fast service. Interior could use a bit of TLC. One third of the lobby is taken up with kitchen supplies. I like that they carry uncommon foreign beer, such as Sapporo black. I'd go here more often if I lived closer.

Underwhelming at very best. “Out” of ingredients included on the menu item were not noted. “Ramen” garnished with scallions, sesame seeds and commercial fried garlic is NOT ramen it’s a piss-take. When called with a complaint, no solution was given - a stone wall of excuses was presented. Many other choices that are legit - Manekanieko or Kizuna offer a properly garnished and delicious bowl for the same price as this place’s “basic” and “customizable” bowl of misery. Enjoy the deeper reviews where the owner makes the complainants wrong - classy. Washingtonian “cheap eats” gets it all wrong. Hard pass - you were warned! Below are pics of part of our $60 take-out of shame.

$14 for instant ramen. No egg included. Noodles are cheap quality, tasteless. Very disappointing quality for price. Many good reviews seem to have had different experience, but this was shocking.

I LOVE the ramen here, the spicy tonkotsu is my go to!!! The pork belly steamed buns are amazing!! The staff are super knowledgeable and friendly. It's also always a clean, and fun environment. It's a bit more expensive than other places I've visited but I know that the quality ingredients and the location is what drives the price up. Overall, I love the ramen here and plan on coming back to try a new bowl soon!!
