I hosted my birthday party at Gair on a Sunday afternoon for about 15 people and loved the experience. The space was beautiful and worked well for a group our size. Guests were all very impressed by the space, commenting especially on the DUMBO views, Christmas decor, and architectural details throughout the space. Food and drinks were also a hit. The Peruvian Sour and Cosmo Verde were our favorites, and the starters were all delicious and easy to share, especially the guacamole, fish and shallot dips, and olives. What stood out most was the staff, who truly went above and beyond. They were attentive, handled a large number of separate tabs smoothly, and moved through a packed space with ease. They also helped us think through how best to use the space for our group and were genuinely helpful with logistics around storing, presenting, and serving the cake, including cutting it cleanly into even pieces. Overall, the experience at Gair was thoughtful, well run, and I felt genuinely supported throughout. I’d highly recommend Gair to anyone looking for a great spot to host a birthday or small group celebration, and I can't wait to come back!

Stopped here for dinner. Greeted by a super friendly charismatic host who gave us several seating options before sitting us in a prime spot. Ambiance and vibe was great. Service was okay. Food was mediocre. Just look at my picture. It tastes just like how it looks and that was not worth $38. Oysters were good though and so was the harissa caramelized shallot dip. Just really disappointed in my main dish. Not a horrible place, just wouldn’t go out of my way to dine here.

What we had: - fried zucchini flowers stuffed with cheese - tuna poke - fair burger Sharing my thoughts: - the place is admittedly located in a very busy tourist attraction. This is both good and bad: Good because for being located in a tourist attraction site, the food could had been mediocre food for premium prices. But the food was actually pretty good. Which leads me to my second point; - bad because the food comes with the premium prices. It is very rare to come across a burger in the city that does not include fries with the burger. The burger itself is $22 and if you want fries then you are looking at an extra $6. That is my only reservation with the burger because the burger itself is good: a smash patty deluxe with a refreshing crisp balance of lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. - The zucchini flowers were great. No complaints here. They were stuffed with a blend of cheeses and had a side of aoli which worked well together. - The tuna poke was ok. Nothing exceptional. - In terms of experience: The table service was dry. Our server was not friendly or attentive taking clients for granted. If you want tips, then put in the work. - in terms of the space, there are decent views of the Brooklyn bridge and the spectacle of the cobblestone street. The interior is nice but I have a bone to pick with the designer: the base of the concrete counter at the bar has fins that project out too much and I was constantly hitting my knee with it. It looks good but that aspect of it was not practically thought through. I enjoyed the meal, but all said I am not compelled to go back.

A 11:30 pm full stop for an event should not compromise the hospitality and palate of a restaurant. The Service: Friendly host sat our party promptly without an issue, I explained to him we are celebrating a birthday and they discreetly asked dessert preference. For a first time visit to Gair a menu walk through, pairing guide, even a recommendation would have gone a mile. At the very least informed of 86’d items before trying to order. Unfortunately that did not happen. Oysters with no spoons for mignonette. A side accompanying the starters when it was meant for mains. Not a refill of a water carafe spoke volumes. The audacity to bring the dessert while mains are still on the table stating the kitchen is closing without a candle for the aforementioned birthday. Left the meal incredibly awkward. Making for me to leave my seat, go to the bar, request it, bring it over and put it on the desert myself. Not even fresh cutlery for the desert. Leaving us to eat it with fish seasoned forks. Lovely. The Food: Starters were prompt and fresh. However, the mains left so much to be desired the pasta in comparison to its description on the menu left me astonished. Unseasoned sauce, watery and overcooked pasta. I reserved this word for the salmon main as it was the epitome of BLAND. Seared skin held no texture or flavor destroyed by excess cooking heat and scrapped onto a bed of “baked” rice. The Finally, cake slice. Left me with an anger that I could not find myself dissipating. Presented and tasted as a banana bread slice with supermarket syrup. Lackluster. Great drinks, you forgot the boba but alcohol was needed for this meal. Thank you.

The Bangkok cocktail, burgers and fries, and lava cake were out of this world. Service was also fantastic the server was super nice and gave us some great club recs. Great location 1 step away from the brooklyn bridge viewing area. Will be back for sure.

Honestly, I was very underwhelmed by the whole experience. We planned to go here for a friend's birthday. She reserved a table (emphasis added) for 6 people, when we arrived they sat us at a bar.... Then came the server (which we later learned was actually the manager), she seemed very urgent, as if we were on a timer, and effectively rushed us to order. Like let us at least get acquainted to the corner bar seats that we did not reserve. Nonetheless, we ordered our food and that was the true let down. The prices were as expected for a high-end place in DUMBO, but we were expecting the food to at least make up for the high costs. I got the steak fritas, the blue-fin tuna hand roll and a mocktail. BRO THEY SUCKED, the steak was alright, mocktail tasted like medicine. But the real crime was the cold and hard sushi rice that was in the hand roll. For around 20 dollars and only three palm rolls, (they were that small) we expected more. What really did it in was the complete indifference that the staff showed us. No check-in and not once was our water jug refilled, until we asked and even then he begrudgingly did it. The whole relationship was not one of hospitality, rather one of expediency. It was as if the staff thought "hey they are the big party, tip is automatically included so there is no point for us to treat them well." All in all, this was definitely a one-time experience.

We went to the Gair bar and had an excellent experience. Marco, the barback, was super friendly and attentive: he invited us to try a beer, served us a glass of wine and another beer, and also recommended another nearby bar to continue enjoying the night. Very good service, pleasant atmosphere and people with good vibes. Totally recommended! 🍷✨

Went here for brunch with my family. The food is top notch and the service is excellent. Also, the bartender is an expert in his/her craft. My wife loved the shakshuka and I thought the burger was fantastic. Kids loved their pancakes. A highly recommended spot by the DUMBO waterfront.

Hands down my favorite bar in Brooklyn. It was my friend's idea to come here and I'm glad I listened because I cannot wait to be back. I was with my pup (in his bag) and they accepted him with open arms which was the first thing I enjoyed about this place. The second I walked in I noticed how beautiful it was. Clean, intentional and bright which I enjoy because it made me feel positive. The staff was super friendly (I actually made friends here, super rare) I hope it remains this way with whoever they hire in the future. We ordered a couple drinks as well as some guac and churros and had a wonderful time here. We literally stayed until close because we were having so much fun. I love that the bartenders were precise before making our drinks to ensure that we would enjoy them. From what kind of liquor we wanted to how strong. Cannot wait to be back here seriously! I'm a NY native and I myself felt like I was on vacation. It is on the pricey side but for the vibes, who cares! Thanks again!

food was good, if the portions not small. the cacio e pepe omelet was tiny for $20, and felt laughable even in DUMBO. but the BEC was really good and worth its salt. the food is what bumps this up to a 3 star rating the service was by far the worst i've had in sometime. at first we were patient and chalked it up to how busy they were, and felt for them. our server genuinely seemed bothered to be serving people. i was especially unhappy when i flagged the server to ask for clarification on my drink, as i ordered a strawberry ginger matcha, which ended up being just ginger oat milk. she seemed annoyed that i pointed this out and was argumentative. if the drink came out as intended, they should remove it from the menu, and she should have offered to remove it from our bill, which she didn't. it's disingenuous to sell it as a matcha drink when it's pure oat milk and i wouldn't have paid $12 for it. overall we were excited to try, my fiancé loved his BEC and cocktail and even though the omelette was too small i enjoyed the way it tasted and thought the menu was fun and unique, but do to the poor service we certainly won't be back.

Was a fine enough stop, but didn't feel it was fully worth the price tag. The menu was quite different from what we saw online (there were items on the online menu that were really the main reason we came), so that was a bummer. Wouldn't necessarily get the steak tartare again either, as it wasn't super flavorful. Felt more like a tourist-y type spot, which honestly we should have recognized when looking at the location. I'm not likely to return, but I think out of towners who are spending an afternoon exploring Dumbo would appreciate!

Stopped into Gair while in Brooklyn and really enjoyed it. The drinks were excellent -- if I had more time I definitely would've tried more from the cocktail menu. The appetizers were also very good . The space itself has a chic, open feel with a warm ambience. I'd happily come back to explore more of menu.

Loft vibes in iconic location, amazing staff and spot on, innovative food. Totally accessible. If you're looking for something a little different, or a delicious burger, I highly recommend Gair.

Service is terrible. Arrogant staff. Sitting at the bar with barely anyone and the amount of time it took to get a drink is laughable. Food took forever. I have patience but this was just a joke

The burger and fries are amazing! Love this place in a neighborhood that doesn't have that many choices.

Love the ambience, so cozy and sexy and dim. The cocktail with passion fruit (forget the name) was incredible, like lying on a beach and the perfect blend of sweet and strong. The much-lauded burger was just okay actually. I prefer Smashburger in TimeOut actually, but still enjoyed this one. Great oysters, too. Solid Valrhona lava cake. Would come back and try other dishes as the season changes and definitely get that drink again.

Food - fantastic! Atmosphere- fantastic! Just gonna wait 45 min for food. Worth it but be ready to relax :)

The food was amazing , I had the burger and it's the best burger I've ever had. The wait staff was so polite and friendly. The bathrooms are pretty and super clean. The vibe is very pleasant and calming. Overall great experience!

Went to Gair for a date night and had a great experience. The cocktails were perfection, and our bartender, Ben, was both incredibly talented and genuinely personable. Will definitely be back!

Went with 0 expectations, and my jaw dropped at the first bite of that mighty artichoke-spinach dip. Crazy good. On the other hand, drinks are well crafted and tasty.

Ok so definitely don't go for brunch- our server was lovely but had to apologize because they don't actually have what was on their menu online at all. We tried to order a coffee, Bloody Mary and cocktail and they: don't have hot liquids, don't have bloody Mary's and were out of one of the ingredients to make the drink we ordered. It seems like it could be a decent place to get a cocktail in the afternoon, but to claim to serve brunch is 100% not accurate.

Ambiance, good drinks and a great place near the Brooklyn bridge. One of my favs in dumbo

A one of a kind experience. In a heavily crowded Dumbo, filled with bars who aspire to be, Gair ACTUALLY delivers. Fully thought out & artful cocktails, coupled with an understated food menu. Our bartender Albert was attentive, thoughtful, extremely knowledgeable, but most importantly, fun. One detail not to take for granted is the design of the bar, it fully creates a private & romantic ambience that at the same time also can be fun & open to possibility. To me the mark of a great bar is the balance between real fun, delicious drinks, and the comfort provided by the staff, and Gair hits all the marks. The only must visit bar in Dumbo, get the Peruvian Sour & the burger, live a little.

The design and feel of this restaurant is welcoming and chic. After a day of shopping in Dumbo my friend and I decided to pop on and have a burger. The burger was so good. It was juicy and filing, and the bun was soft. We sat at the bar, and our server was helpful in explaining the menu. He helped us not to over order as you can see the fries are enough to share. I ordered a gin based cocktail, and it was so refreshing. If you're in the area, I definitely recommend dining at Gair.

We stopped in for a drink. The space is lovely with two full walls of windows that they wisely chose to line with bar top seating. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the pleasant scent of incense. I had the cocktail with the burnt rosemary which was also a very nice multisensory experience. The service was polite and efficient. I liked it there and would definitely go back if I was in the neighborhood.

Super cute bar at a super great location! Service was amazing and quick. The two drinks we ordered (Romance and Earth Wind..) were the best we've had in our trip to NY so far. Definitely recommend!!!

The food and drinks get 5 stars. Perfect creative cocktails and bites. Bar is gorgeous. However, service was terrible. I spent my 20's working in restaurants and loose sleep if I don't tip 20% even if the service was average. Left them 15 and slept like a baby.

Food is delicious, cocktails are lovely, staff and service is the best in the neighborhood, and the vibes are chill.

Food was delicious! We got the burger and shishito peppers. The burger bun was soft and soaked up the yummy comeback sauce. The drinks were also really nice! Our first drinks were the No Fumar and Love Lost. Both a little sweet, but otherwise well balanced. Our second round was even better with the Earth, Wind, and Fire and the Under the Influencer.

beautifully crafted salmon that i would try 100 times over. fries are great. service is amazing 10/10 employees. the setting is great, nice tables,music, silverware etc.

Service was fantastic and the atmosphere was perfect. It's super nice and clean and even though I didn't eat it looked like the food was amazing!

Cool place to have interesting drinks. The Autumn in New York was good and had a fun spin on it. It really did feel like fall in NYC.

This new menu is unreal, such a good vibe highly recommend. The chicharrones and shrimp skewers blew my mind. Oysters were fresh and delicious.

I only got drinks at this restaurant but I was very impressed! All the staff were really welcoming and friendly. The bartenders were very helpful in terms of giving recommendations etc. The bar was also very cute. It is a bit pricey though.

Super cool bar in an amazing location, right by the best photo spot in Brooklyn. Inventive, creative cocktails. Helpful service. Limited food menu, but very high quality for a bar. Gorgeous design. Only con is that it can get a little noisy when crowded, which it usually is!
