Galactic Theatre

This place is an absolute gem, especially in an area where it’s tough to find original music just down the street. I’m in a cover band, so no hate! BUT, being able to just pop over to the Galactic for a drink and hear excellent original music…it’s very special. Get there!

Great venue with awesome touring bands. Cool, owner and staff and best of all: NO COVER BANDS! Thank goodness because there are LOTS of corny places that allow that type of nonsense.

Great place to grab a beer and check out some live music or karaoke fun. No food available (when I was there in April 2025) but they didn't mind me grabbing something from down the street and bringing it in. Free street parking (past 5pm or so). Check it out!

Always great music, friendly staff and the owner specifically takes great care of the bands that play. Places that cater to original music are vital to the musicians who work there butts of to barely get by and a treat for patrons to discover new music. This is a staple in the scene of Rhode Island and I recommend all to check it out. You will not be disappointed.

I love the Galactic! It's truly a special place. I love that they highlight original independent artists ... there's too many places that cater to cover band crowds! Definitely a diamond in the rough, always great vibes, Sasquatch is a completely genuine and dude of great integrity, always a great time!

While parking is street only, this little bar was packed with fun and friendly people! Bar service was great, fair priced. Wednesday night karaoke was so much fun, and they're open late.

I followed this place on Instagram for a while and happened to be on the same street as it one day and popped in. Welcoming environment and great drinks! The decor is definitely me! A fun find. Glad this place made it through all the hard times!

This place is truly hip at an entirely new level... Greenwich Village meets a Texas road house !! Always the unexpected...and always simple great fun !!

This is a neat venue! It's a small old school theatre that plays old movies while open and often has small music shows, comedy and more. The bar is open with a long cocktail list. The prices are the best around and most are under $10. My favorite cocktail is the Pink Flamingo. Plenty of sweet drinks. They also have beer on draft. Hungry for a little snack? They brought back the grilled cheese with cheese balls. It really hits the spot after a few drinks! Overall, a fun place to visit.

This spot is super cute. If I lived in Warren or surrounding area - I would want to be doing all the things here. It's small, but doesn't feel it. The bar is great - excellent selection. I watched the owner making a few tests last night (I'm assuming by the taste testing and the picture taking) and I almost ordered whatever it was (old fashioned I believe) because it looked good (yea I know it's not much to it) and carefully crafted. I got a hot toddy - and honestly I wish I had just asked for it with water and not the ginger tea - but otherwise good. And I'm always happy to be able to get a hot toddy on a cold rainy or snowy night. Seeing "hot drinks" was an exciting moment when I walked in. The poetry open mic had such a great turnout. And the comedy show I went to pre Covid was also solid. Worth the drive from Providence for sure. I'm looking forward to going back! There was a free play arcade game by the bathroom. That was fun.

Great local spot for live music, craft cocktails, and microbrews. Try to get there when the owner's band, Sasquatch and the Sick-a-billy's, are here playing....great show!

It's utterly shocking that is place has a high rating. The environment here is old and dated. If you are young and trying to have a good time out there are numerous places you can do that in Warren , this place should be the last on your list. The owner is not only patronizing but also fundamentally duplicitous. I have heard from many of my female friends that they do not feel safe in that establishment. The drinks are fine and the food is uninspiring. The bar has a weird obsession with 1910's silent films ; it does not match the overall aesthetic of the bar. As the aesthetic is dark , grungy , and musty.

As if having a cool historic theater wasn't enough, they also serve the world's greatest ice cream. An ice cream sundae with Warwick ice cream is guaranteed to please. I went with the Sasquatch sundae, coffee Oreo ice cream with caramel sauce, crushed waffle cone, whipped cream, nuts, and a cherry. The staff is super friendly and the ice cream is out of this world! Someone in line mentioned that their food is equally as delicious. We will definitely be back! Give Galactic a try today!

Seriously can't say enough about this place. The staff is super cool and talk to anyone. The patrons are pretty welcoming, I can usually strike up an interesting convo with the person next to me. The live music that plays is generally awesome and Dave organizes it pretty nicely. You can tell he tries to run a pretty tight ship, so if there's shenanigans, it may not be welcomed. You can tell he tries to keep the riff raff out, which makes the place feel safe. Overall, this place has such a cool vibe and it's right down the street from Water St, so I can grab a Pork Osso Bucco, or Dirty Fish and Chips at the restaurants and listen to some great music afterward. Love this place!

Tried out the new food options at the galactic tonight - so good! Like the bar was before COVID - this food and drink was unique and did not disappoint. Fun and awesome- expectations exceeded. In photo - chicken and waffles, two flatbreads, chicken salad and two cocktails. All were fantastic. Go!

Wow! What awesome Ice Cream Sundaes!! I selected the "Intergalactic Spastic Grahamtastic" which was Graham Central Station Ice Cream, Caramel Sauce, Crushed Heath, Whipped Cream, Nuts and a Cherry! Omg! It was heaven in a cup! We will definitely be coming back for more!!!

I finally had a chance to visit Galactic Theatre and it truly lived up to the hype. It's a small vaudevillian style club that hosts local entertainment acts.The staff were incredibly nice and welcoming. They have a decent amount of bar and lounge seating as well as ample street parking. they also serve beer and a small pub grub style menu. As a former Bristolian it's great to see uptown Warren finally getting developed and bringing in unique businesses. many years ago a friend of mine told me Warren would be a hip and trendy place, I'm glad that vision has finally come to fruition. I'm looking forward to visiting the Galactic Theatre again in the future.

Great place to have a drink and listen to some live music! It has its own personality! Definitely an experience I will indulge in again.

This place is incredible and I would give it more stars if I could. Embarrassed to say I've lived less than ten minutes from here since it's opened but i only now decided to swing by on a Friday night. Ended up speaking with the owner for a good amount of time and he gave us an overview of the entire menu, which has so many amazing choices. Owner is very honest, authentic and creates an old time feel in this place. He ended up playing his own live music and it was amazing. He remained very attentive to the crowds needs and the bartenders were fantastic and also attentive. Kudos to Sasquatch, this place is as real as it gets, a true gem and refreshing atmosphere. Will absolutely be visiting again very soon.

This beautiful dive bar is perfect for Warren. Free vintage arcade games, great craft beer on tap (i.e. Maine Lunch), and nice cocktails. Silent/vintage movies projected on the wall create a relaxed mood and a great reminder that there is no TV. There is a small performance stage, and while there was no live music during my visit, I look forward to checking it out in the future.

What a cool place! If you like smaller music venues you will LOVE this old school theatre! There isn't a bad seat in the house, the cocktails are delicious, and the atmosphere is truly unique! Very cool!

Galactic Theater still shines despite the darkness that's encapsulated so many during this time of COVID-19. The Flatbreads are delicious and the ice cream is fabulous! Dave keeps knocking it outta the park during a trying time and still maintains Galactic originality and charm!

I went here to hear some music. Drinks and music were good. I had a couple of drinks watched the show and was about to get in my car when the Warren PD showed up. They received a complaint from the owner say I was harassing someone in the bar. No such harrasment occured. I was taken by ambulance to the hospital. I was held there until the next day. What kind of a bar owner turns in a customer who just spent money in their establishment! This guy has serious OCD and has no business being in the bar business. Go here, listen to music DO NOT DRINK HERE!!!!

So I'd never been pre-covid but I can't imagine the vibe being anything short of energetic and fun. There's awesome customer service and despite the line being long on occasion, it's worth the wait for such a sweet treat! The owner reached out to me on IG after my visit and struck me as a wonderful person who is very passionate about his business and the Rhode Island food scene. If you're looking for a prime way to cool off and just the loveliest people, I recommend making a stop!

High quality cocktails mixed to perfection served in a casual atmosphere with Charlie Chaplin movies playing in the background...what is better than that?!??! I especially enjoyed the tomahawk and the blue Hawaiian cocktails....yummmm! They even have a pretty big food menu - hot dogs, nachos, paninis...something for every bar food loving taste. I really enjoyed myself here - the bartender was super friendly, the locals were super friendly, the live music was hopping....all around a great time. The clean bathroom was unexpected but greatly appreciated. I will gladly come back here - next time I won't eat first - cuz I need to try some of these yummy concoctions!!! Come down, have some cocktails, grub and enjoy all this local joint has to offer!

This place is amazing! One of the best, if not the best, on Main Street. We love stopping to get a shake in the evenings. They have dog ice cream too

This was such an easy 5 stars to give. My friends and I stumbled upon this wacky, fun bar because we were staying in Bristol, RI. We were looking for something to do, and we figured we'd check this place out. When you walk in, you'll notice immediately that there are old arcade games on the sides of the wall, some funky paintings, old black & white short films playing above the bartender, and an entertainment stage. As soon as we sat at the bar, we were greeted by a man named Dave who is one of the kindest people I've met in years. I was truly blown away by his hospitality. He offered us to sample one of his favorite drinks, which I HIGHLY recommend ordering the "Siclian Tears." You won't regret it. I've had many New York City cocktails and for $9, the price and quality were astonishing. We also ordered the bacon and cheese melts which are cheap and delicious. Good for a drunk and hungry stomach! I wish there was a bar like this in New York. Next time I pass through Rhode Island I will be sure to stop by again. Dave, thank you again for your awesome hospitality. You made the night an unforgettable experience!

I can't say enough about this place or it's proprietor. Dave loves his town, his customers, his whisky, the musicians and the scene. From humble beginnings as a vintage clothing and "chach" shop it has blossomed into a compact genre defying performance venue. Free play vintage pinball, a few multi game cabinets, 2 stand up drivers and one shooter (Virtua Cop, WHICH I WAS PLAYING 2 PLAYERS AT ONCE!) flashed me back to the 90s. Simple snacks and a modest bar with creative libations round out a superior evening on the town of Warren, RI. Dave continues to pour his blood, sweat and tears (and more than a little joy) into this true labor of love. Go support it. And the musicians. And the town. And the local restaurants and shops (Dave will give you a list of his favorite places). Make an event of it. And Keep Warren Weird! Thank you, Dave. Sasquatch King Sickabilly. For all you've done and all that you do. I love you. They love you. Warren loves you. P.S. when you go to The Galactic Theater and you are outside smoking or talking, move to the right and try and keep your volume at a respectable level. There are neighbors. They are nice so we want to look out for them. Don't be me. I was loud and stupid.

This is my new favorite bar. It reminds me of when I lived in New York City 15 years ago. I describe it to people as a musicians bar. By that I mean, there's always a cool artist playing and the regulars are all renaissance people of some sort. Writers, painters, chefs, "horticulturalists". I've met plenty of new friends there and never leave without a smile on my face. The new location two blocks down from the old one has more room, six beers on tap and always a few neat things in cans. Just like the live acts, the draft list is always changing but really well managed. There's never garbage on tap and the mixed drinks are great as well. My absolute favorite part of this place is there are no TVs. I want to go out and not have to tune into the sportsball or whatever other mind rotting garbage is being spit out. They occasionally project old silent films on the walls and that's the perfect level of weirdness. If you want a "McBar" with the game on and macros on tap you won't like this place. If you're looking for someplace slightly out of the ordinary this is it.

A must experience to get a real feel for Warren, Rhode Island. They may be closed off and on as we all work through the Covid situation but their boozy shakes are amazing and we hope you'll support this small business!

I realllly like this place. It's an awesome spot for a casual night checking out some live entertainment while drinking the best espresso martinis of your life. No joke, they use espresso from the coffee depot and I bet you can't just order 1. They have some unique live entertainment as well as plenty of games around to keep you occupied before the entertainment starts. Bartender is amazing and even the bathroom is really clean! Hands down one of my favorite spots to go for a low key amazing time.

There's no place more wonderfully weird or friendly to have a drink in Warren than the Galactic Theater. The live music is consistently great. The drinks are on point and the tacos are tasty. And the non-stop selection of silent films being projected on the wall take it all to another level. David, the owner, makes everyone feel like a friend. Galatic Theater is doing a public service for Rhode Island with its awesomeness.

Ice cream was really good! Also the boozy milkshakes so worth it! Love all the add ins and the creativity of the different shakes!

Love this place! Cool, funky, retro-eclectic mix of music and the silent movies are a nice touch. The food (grilled cheese with tomato) was tasty and inexpensive. Nice selection of bourbon and a great crowd.

This is a wonderful place! Yesterday, was my third time visiting the Galactic Theatre, and like always, it was a warm & fun experience. I'm socially awkward, so it's actually pretty hard for me to feel at home in public places. So, me feeling immediately comfy at the Galactic says a lot! There's always great music playing (often live), fun old movies playing on the screen (great for zoning out while listening to the music), a few games set to free-play, and really great drinks priced well. The people who work here are also super kind. I'm from Providence, so I don't get here as often as I would like, but each time I come here, I make a mental note to myself to come here more often.

The galactic theater really does it for me. Amazing drinks, music, video games and silent films you cant go wrong. Recently got to try the new hot dogs and "ima be real with you dawg" they are AMAZING.

This place is trash. Went here with a group of friends for the first time and as soon as we paid for our drinks the "manager" started asking personal questions and when we declined, he kicked us out. His reasoning was because "we were weird". Then he followed us outside and told us to not come back. For a bar who only had 10 customers (all males), that's not a smart move. Especially after we just paid $50+ in drinks.

The ice cream specialties were good, but limited to three flavors. Local spot, had live music.

Owner has an attitude and doesn't care about his patrons, just asked about something and said I had an attitude, sad, thought this was gonna be a good place initially

Great music venue and bar in downtown Warren. They also have a limited, but tasty and cheap, menu. They get great bands here from RI and beyond. And the best part is the volume is never so loud you can't think or carry on a conversation. No cover charge but they pass a tip jar and only total jerks don't throw something in. They have a great beer selection and good cocktails as well. The food changes but is stuff like grilled cheese, pizza, and corn dogs. Lots of free arcade games too.

Cozy bar with some tables and some great live music. Ghost margarita was a delicious surprise! Tasty beers on tap too!

Great food and drinks. The atmosphere is something you need to experience for yourself. Friendly staff and alcoholic milkshakes? A perfect local spot.

I have driven past this place many times but never actually went until last night. The minute I walked in and felt the awesome vibe of this place I fell in love. I spoke with the owner and was able to hear the "abbreviated" story of how he has built his business to what it is today. He said that COVID has continued to try to put him out of business but he has refused to quit by building new bar tops, plexiglass dividers, and offering sundaes and boozy shakes which looked delicious. Old black and white films are projected above the bar and grill while music of all genres and eras are on the menu. I don't write reviews unless a place really stands out to me. I'm so happy I was able to experience how awesome the Galactic Theater is and can't wait till I'm back.

I love The Galactic! When you hear "theater" you're probably picturing a stage with assigned seats in an auditorium. This is an open bar with a small stage at the front. They have an *excellent* cocktail menu (I love the sin and tonic) and performers nearly every night. Prices are lower than Providence (and just about anywhere) for an excellent cocktail. Their beer menu is smaller but has something for everybody, and they have a great little food menu that changes regularly. Try the different variations of grilled cheese! There used to be a little Nintendo station, but it has been replaced with a small vending machine with hella cheap snacks. The Tropigals dance the first Friday of every month (no cover!). I don't know if there is ever a cover charge, but there has never been one the nights I was there. They have fun arcade games and silent movies played along to music. It is pretty accessible, but the single stall bathroom would be too small if a member of your party used a wheelchair. The bartenders are lovely and the owner, Dave, is a gem. The Galactic is a wonderful spot, and I'm so glad it's in Warren. A visit us worth the drive from Providence every time.

If you're looking for a different vibe then the standard run of the mill places to stop and have a beverage... Then just step through the door of Galactic. After that first step in, stop and take it all in for a second and warp into an eclectic space of different vibes. Its hip, its loud, its personal dont be shy dance with a stranger. Just a great little venue with its own personality. I wish it were closer as i live on the otherside of the bay but it was well worth the drive. Whether ya up front grooving the live tunes, at the bar mixed into sporadic conversation or chillin to some old time in the back you will forget your right on the strip of good old warren.

There are a few words that come to mind in describing the Galactic, a dive, weird, and eclectic. I use those terms in a good way. Certainly there is nothing like it in the east bay. Silent movies playing before the music starts. Casual, diverse and mixed crowd. Housed in the space formerly occupied by Dan's Wigwam on Main Street. Good size bar with a smattering of tables and a stage at the back of the room. Good cocktail and draft beer selection. One reviewer mentions a menu, I'm not sure if there is actually a food menu or just a nightly special. I have never been offered a menu if one exists. I've only seen pizza in one of the food cases and usually there is a sheet on the bar describing the special. If I had to criticize anything it would be the 7pm opening time, would love to see it open earlier. Also I'm not a huge craft beer drinker. Most of the beers on draft I have never heard of, and they seem to change almost weekly. I've been lucky to find something that I like each time. Maybe a mainstream beer on draft to appeal to the masses. But again just like the drafts, this place has nothing to do with appealing to the masses. It's a unique place that I'm sure will carve out a niche.
