Dutch Bros Sales Jumped 52 Percent in 2021 | Eater Portland

"I read that Galactix Taphouse + Arcade opened in downtown Astoria this January as a subterranean, spaceship-themed bar at 254 9th Street, lit with teal neon and featuring 24 taps of beer and cider, pizza, and a variety of pinball machines and '80s-style arcade games; customers pay for gameplay via an app rather than quarters or cash, and the space is open to anyone 13 or older." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

A most excellent hive of fun and pinball-ery..or something something space bar! DAVE HEATWAVE PLAYED THERE. Like he's the coolest hottest dudeman in the synth world. But you knew that already... There is a Les Schwab pinball machine and other fun games. But like the Les Schwab pinball machine is a must. Definitely somewhere I plan to visit everytime we are in Astoria.

Love this spot! It's a must visit whenever we're in Astoria. They have a large tap list with a lot of hard ciders and NA can options as well! Haven't eaten food here receipt for the Space Nuts and they were warm and delicious. The themed Star Trek-esque astomophere is the best part! Make sure to play the Deathstalker cabinet!!!

Not gonna lie, was really unsure about going down the stairs and into a random door but glad we did. Super clean, games played a long time for each credit (except maybe pinball but that’s on me lol), drinks were great. This place is probably more what we were expecting when we went to the other arcade down the street that was kinda dirty and had barely any games- randomly found this place when walking around after that disappointing experience and saw the sign pointing down some stairs. It also helped I was already familiar with the PayRange app since I’ve used it before and it’s really convenient.

Fantastic spot! The owner has poured his love of video games into this and has made it fun and inviting for everyone. Galactix has great vibes, a rad bar, good snacks, is beautifully designed and has more pinball than anywhere I've ever been. I could've stayed for hours. The Les Schwab pinball was my favorite. Pac-man of all kinds, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles pinball and Polybius 👍👍 It's in the Astoria underground. A really cool place to check out, even if you don't like video games, it's an epic location unlike any other in Astoria.

Location: Earth, Astoria Oregon, formerly the United States of America. Our crew wandered upon an idealized coastal town that appeared untouched by the scorching heat that stretched across the rest of North America. Below ground we found a vessel that offered escape from the every day temperatures and concerns that plagued us. We had been looking for refuge and we found it. Dozens of machines that beeped and booped pleased all of our senses, some of them so rare we were left breathless. If you find yourself in Astoria, look down to look up. The Galactix awaits you.

Enjoyed stopping in here for a cider and some plays of there games. Cool little place with a decent variety of arcade and pinballs, and great tap list. Pat-o was working and he was very sweet and attentive. Would definately comeback and reccomend stopping in for a drink with a small group or just a date.

Loved this place. The real deal! Had a great time sipping on beer, playing pinball and classic video games. 😎

Google
A great place to play games and get a snack. Underground Astoria never looked so good! Friendly staff Lots of drinks including non alcoholic, and sodas!

Yelp
Their front door isn't the most inviting, but if you dare to open it you will immediately launch into hyperspace. Amazing pinball selection, other unique and rare games, an excellent tap list, and a super easy to use payment system. I will absolutely visit again on my next trip to Astoria!

Yelp
A lot of great touches here -- the warm bar nuts snack, ample taps, cute names and geeky references. The game prices are a little all over the place and the app doesn't work as well as one would like, but it's a great concept that's got a lot of potential. We had fun but mostly the games didn't keep us engaged to stay longer.

Yelp
Hidden in almost an alley on the basement level sits a throwback arcade whose atmosphere feels more futuristic than retro. Great for kids five and older, and I mean older people who like pinball, vintage video games, plenty of taps and drinks of all kinds. I love how they have this app enabled pay system for all the games and again the atmosphere is out of this world. We played hard for almost an hour on $25 bucks and had credits left over. Definitely check this arcade out.

Yelp
This place is home away from home for my husband and I! We love the vibe of arcades, but the aesthetic of this place is such a dream! The music, the lights, it's as if you are in a vaperwave star trek ship in cyberpunk world. Our favorite.

Yelp
Went on a Saturday afternoon and was surprised that it wasn't busy. It is a fairly small arcade, but still had a good time playing some of the games. There is a bar to the side, but didn't check out what they served. It's definitely something worth checking out if you like arcades and if you're in the area.

Yelp
I wasnt expecting much here - coming in from the dingy 'alley' outside it belies the space within - boy was I surprised! The attention to detail using lights and props really made this a cool place to visit, like you were in the bar on the Enterprise. Even an impressive sound system (yes i noticed your cleverly hidden subwoofer!). The games are very reasonably priced. I had a ball for just $10. Drinks and limited food reasonable too. The app worked great, I downloaded it before hand and loaded it with some cash. Look up the game number on the machine and find it in the app (the app shows all the games it 'finds' in bluetooth range with the corresponding numbers) The bathroom is - well, wow. lol Its a little cramped in here - if it was full I could see it being uncomfortable. Lots of old favorites here - asteroids, space invaders, 1942. Its about half pinball and half arcade. The pinball games were really fun too. Kids over 5 can attend with their parents. Definitely coming back.

Yelp
Fun little arcade tucked underground and filled with awesome arcades! It isn't that big, but it has a great variety of pinball machines and old school. You can get drinks also and there are a couple booths to sit. It wasn't too busy, but all the machines worked and we enjoyed our time.

Yelp
Killer service, pinball machines need work. Great ciders. How are these machines not liked to Stern ? Such a waste of coins .. I'm mean you have a pinball bar... Most machines need lots of work. The only balanced one was old Star Wars. If the owner gets a bubble level and takes better care of the machines/ this place would blow up. But as it is, the service is better than the gameplay - the atmosphere is cool though .

Yelp
Cute little arcade! I really enjoyed the futuristic space decor of the interior. Even the bathroom was cool and remained on the galactic theme. We went on a Sunday evening (around 5-6:00 pm), and we had the place to ourselves for the first couple of minutes. The only thing that was interesting about the place is that the games only accepted payment through an app you have to download on your phone.

Yelp
We had a great time playing all the different pinball machines and a couple of video games we used to play on our Nintendos when we were kids. We didn't try any refreshments as we had just had a huge lunch, but it was a great way to spend a bit of time. I was really impressed with the number and quality of the machines!

Yelp
Amazing hidden gem bar and arcade in Astoria! Stumbled across this sweet underground spot on our visit, and had a ton of fun! Dozens and dozens of old school arcade and pinball machines in a super cool neon sci-fi themed space. Huge local craft beer and cider selection on tap with friendly staff. For us, the retro two-player sit-down racing games were a big hit. The futuristic spaceship theme is so well done. Coming in from the street, it felt like stepping into a little 80s TRON-like other world! FYI, the phone -app based way to pay for games (quick download) made it pretty seamless to play without handling grubby tokens or coins. 5/5. Wish we had a place like it in our city, and worth a stop for drinks and a memorable, super fun time!

Yelp
So fun and out of this world! Great selection of beers and a super alternative atmosphere

Yelp
Beautifully designed, themed bar. Carefully laid out to make as much use out of a small space as possible. Beer pricing is good/on average. Food limited to rack-style pizza. Lots of thought went into design here. Sadly, the arcade leaves a bit to be desired. 30 machines tightly arranged is not too great for long term play. Drink holders are on machines, but game selection needs tweaking. They need a few more upright classics and one or two more shooters like Area 51 or something. To be honest, they get a pass on game selection because they're new. Selection increases the longer barcades are open. The lack of stars is due to their clunky pay style for gaming. No game accepts quarters. You have to download an app, with a minimum of ten dollars to add to a purse. Phone reception downstairs is spotty, so this gets quirky. Games are minimum 50 cents. This place feels cool inside, so every tourist should give it a shot. Sadly, I saw lots of people leaving because they didnt want the app.

Yelp
If you're into pinball, beer/cider and/or Star Wars/Trek, this arcade is for you. Fantastic decor - they did a great job! Good beer selection and good pinball selection. Kids under 13 not allowed and kids must be out after 5 or so. Little hard to find, though. Basically a basement joint in the middle of the block. Had a great time.

Yelp
It's so cool! If I lived in Astoria, I would come here all the time. I wish it were open longer.

Yelp
What's good y'all Project Pat from 36 mafia baby. Went here last night and this place is DOPE. Gotta download an app to pay for the games but it's too EZ baby. Beer is good and vibes are trill. Cool ass place. 5 STARS.

Yelp
Passing through Astoria for a night, we stumbled on this "sci fi lounge" after dinner and were delighted. Definitely was not expecting to find a retro vapor wave themed arcade and lounge in the middle of this calm, somewhat sleepy port town. It was clean, thoughtfully designed and had some fun surprises like Polybius and The Spectre Files: Deathstalker FMV game. Will definitely make sure to come back next time we're in Astoria.

Yelp
Best (SCI-FI) themed place to chill and play some fun pinball game and enjoy some solid Ciders!!! Staff is super friendly. Lots of thought went into the overall vibe of this place. Definitely one of our favorite spots to visit!

Yelp
This is an amazing place that you have to see for yourself. Great beer and cider selection, wonderful ambiance and friendly service staff, it's the best kept secret in Astoria. Go to the fish restaurant nearby, then take a left downstairs.

Yelp
Lots of potential. Amazing attention to detail. Unexpected for a small town of 10,000 like Astoria. Sadly ran out of pizza which is the only food option. (Pizza is from Dominos.) Games were fun and all working! They need more staff and more non-alcoholic drink options.
