Where to Order Delivery From in LA, According to a Local | Eater

"Rodriguez says he orders Thai for dinner almost every week. His go-to spot? Galanga Thai Fusion. The no-frills West Hollywood restaurant has an expansive menu with staples like panang curry and spicy basil chicken, but Rodriguez says their pad Thai is a must." - Rayna Rossitto

Very comfortable restaurant with a full menu and some entrees I need to come back for. Outdoor patio with lots of greenery and art. Inside is a bit plain, but very clean. Had the House Lettuce Wraps with shrimp and crab for an appetizer. Very tasty, fresh seafood and a bit of lime. The Green curry was flavorful and cooked well. As was the Masaman curry. Love the peanut flavor, almost like a satay! The Thai Iced tea was also on point. Service is very polite and attentive. If you use the parking lot, park on the restaurants side so there is no issue with towing.

Google
Best Thai Food in LA! Galanga is hands down the best Thai restaurant I’ve been to in LA since I moved here a year ago. The food is absolutely delicious, the service is incredible, and the prices are more than fair. One of the things I love the most is that we can bring a bottle of wine or Prosecco, and they provide glasses and everything we need without any extra charge. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic Thai cuisine with great hospitality!

Google
The service was great! Super kind staff. Vegetarian options were harder to come by. The soups and curries have pre mixed fish sauce in it. But the green beans with tofu were fire! Nice and spicy with a crunchy peanut texture.

Google
I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the tofu pad thai was! I ordered takeout yesterday after work. I actually live in the area, but I work pretty far from here—so I don’t know why I haven’t tried this place before. Wow, it was amazing! The food was so fresh, and I ate the whole thing—which I seldom do in one sitting. I also got a Thai tea, and it was perfect—not overly sweet. Definitely a 5/5. I’m already thinking about getting it again, maybe making it a weekly thing. I also really appreciate that they have a parking lot because parking in this area can be a struggle. The price is pretty standard for the area, but honestly, it was worth it. Everything tasted so fresh with the perfect amount of spice. I just want it again already!

Sadly I will not be returning here. I ordered the pad see ew to go and found myself chewing on metallic wire that had been cooked into my food. I tried to contact the restaurant to no avail.

Google
The coconut rice is the best! I ordered pineapple coconut rice salmon... the flavors mix really good I am not a fan of pineapple pizza but this was a good experience.. DISAPPOINTED in the fact that I got 5 little chunks of salmon.. for this big rice mountain not enough lemme say that.. I saw people next to me ordering the lunch specials and they looked more proteinic than mine that was from the regular menu.. The orange drink is Thai Tea taste similar as a Korean bubble tea without the bubbles haha

Google
A simple family owned Thai place that serves up classic Thai cuisine. They have very few parking spots, but street parking available. The inside has an ourdoor and inside area. Service is super friendly and helpful if you're undecided. The cooking is earnest and they add some extra flair to liven it up. I tried the Knom Gean which is a curry fish noodle dish that was different and tasty. The noodles were buckwheat and a tad overcooked, but the curry was very flavorful. The Pad See Ew was straightforward and good too. The Sticky Rice and Mango was also classically made, but wished they had some sesame seeds on top. Overall, a pretty solid Thai spot that will satisfy.

Google
Food was alright, owner was the one in the counter and serving too. Place was neat and hygiene. About our order: Pineapple fried rice was great, pasta was not that good, both curries were alright too. We have ordered other food too, soup was great.

Yelp
Give them your business! Friendly, happy, wildly fresh and delicious. Total comfort food. I felt like everything was so fresh and flavorful. Had pineapple fried rice w chicken, Tom Kah soup (was a lil hungover and needed that) and spicy basil beef which made me clear up my sinuses. This is a great spot. Try the house tea- very nice.

Yelp
One of my favorite Thai restaurants in Los Angeles due to location, food quality, consistency, and best value for lunch. Where else can you get a good portion lunch on Santa Monica Blvd for $13/$15 excluding tax & tip. Lunch specials also have an option to add two appetizers for $3. I usually get two Thai Egg-rolls, made fresh daily, light & crispy, delicious with a hint of spice. I've had the opportunity to try out several menu items at Galanga Thai Fusion and have enjoyed every selection I've ordered. I will certainly occasionally explore the menu, but have a tendency to order my past favorites which I've found pleasantly satisfying. Even though Galanga Thai Fusion has a small dining area, it's simple & nice, clean and also has a nice outdoor patio with additional seating to enjoy during nice weather days. Additionally, the staff is attentive & efficient, strives for superior customer service. Every time I've dined at Galanga Thai Fusion Restaurant, the service has been consistently good. I'm sure I'll be have much more dining experiences here!

Yelp
Amazing food amazing service! Everything I've tried so far is delicious mango sticky rice is to die for

Yelp
Still good. Not a destination spot. They have good lunch specials but with over 10% taxes in LA it ended up still being twenty bucks. I am too broke for life I guess even though I'm a native Californian. It's pretty obvious in West Hollywood though. This place is a rip off. Anyway, the chili lime fish was good and satisfying. Not twenty bucks' worth though. They gotta pay rent too so I can't blame them. I just work in the area otherwise this place is another drive by to me. Cute but just a local spot, and service is nothing special.
google avatar

Yelp
SOLID. Fresh food, good prices, good service, and there's (some) parking! The crispy basil fish is really good. You can't really mess up here.

Yelp
Yummy food and sweet staff :) Cute little mom and pop Thai restaurant in WeHo. Got the Pad Thai, Sweet Pineapple Shrimp Curry, Shrimp Roll (spring roll style), and for dessert, the mango sticky rice! Everything had great flavor, especially the curry! I honestly have nothing bad to say about this place. Definitely a must try for some my thai food lovers who like a more home-y taste than your typical high-end food

Yelp
I've been searching for my go-to Thai spot in West Hollywood and I think I've found it! I've only ordered delivery so I can't speak much on the service or ambiance but the food is delicious and very affordable. I almost always order the crab rangoons, which are perfectly crispy. The wrapper isn't thick and doughy like at some places. I also love the chicken satay mainly for the peanut sauce, which is really rich and peanut-y. (I always order an extra side of it, because one little cup is never enough.) The surprise standout for me is the Thai orange chicken. The chicken is super crispy and the sauce isn't too thick and "syrupy" and it has some nice ginger flavor to it. The Pad Thai is also very tasty. The noodles are quite thin so it feels a bit lighter than other Pad Thai dishes I've had. I will definitely continue to order from this spot!

Yelp
The food is delicious! The chefs are bringing the fire dishes. Customer service is amazing and it feels like your extended family. Try ALL of the curries and don't be shy with the appetizers. The Rotti and the rolls are addictive. Oh, order the coconut rice with your dish.......life changing.

Yelp
I love this place, we get food from here a lot. The service is always great whether eating in or taking out. Definitely recommend, they've been there a long time so not surprised.

Yelp
I love this place. I get their curry whenever I don't want to cook dinner. Their Tom Ka soup works miracles when I'm not feeling well. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Wanted to love it. Got takeout. I've had tons of Thai food and been to Thailand. Had the yellow curry chicken. It came with one carrot (?) and the few potatoes weren't cooked through, very hard. The chunks of chicken were massive so they lacked flavor and weren't tender, need to be thinly sliced. The sauce was nice but since everything in it wasn't, I didn't enjoy it. Also had the pad see ew and the noodles were tasty but the beef was inedible, it was gray-looking and tough. Totally bummed.

Yelp
This location gets a 5 star for the lunch special alone. It's $10 for a burrito, side salad and regular ice tea and that's pretty hard to beat. Lunch special aside, the prices are very reasonable. It's a small venue but feels fairly spacious. I ordered the Tuna Curry Burrito and it was delicious. It had an excellent ratio of meat to rice (in other words, there wasn't too much rice) and the flavor was incredible. The spices blended together so well and was perfectly seasoned: not overly salty and one flavor didn't beat out the rest. It is a curry so it was on the wetter side - the burrito still held pretty well together! Even at the very end, it didn't give out - I never had to switch to using a fork, which speaks to how well wrapped it was and how perfectly spread everything was. I would definitely recommend the burrito again to anyone. The regular price is $14 and it's still worth it. The side salad was what you would expect from a Caesar salad (I do think they went a bit heavy on the dressing so if I ordered again, I would order the dressing on the side) and the iced tea was excellent. (Note: it is not a sweetened iced tea.) The service was also wonderful. My waiter was kind and immediately offered me a refill of my drink. Overall, everything was excellent and I would strongly recommend to everyone.

Yelp
I ordered yellow curry, red curry , mixed vegetables and coconut rice. Both yellow and red curry were not full. The portion was small because the container was only 3/4 full. The rice container was also not full. The restaurants is tight in regards to the above. It is not the first time we got such a small amount of food. It happens before. I recommend to eat at the restaurant where the p oh rations are good and avoid the curry it. I stayed hungry and a very negative feeling as I was hustled by the kitchen...

Yelp
Love this Thai restaurant! -- both for take-out and dine-in. The food is fresh and so flavorful! My favorite so far is the Ginger Fish. The noodles are delicious, and everything pairs well with the coconut rice. This is quickly becoming our go to take out place!!

Yelp
We came on a weekend evening and the place was busy but not too busy. Parking was a bit difficult but we ended up getting a spot in the small lot outside. We opted to sit outside in the patio which was really nice! For appetizers we shared the tornado starter which was pretty good, although anything fried is good. It could have been a ~little~ crispier. I got the iced coffee. We got the masamun curry with beef, pad Thai with tofu, and pad see ew with chicken. I would say my favorite was the masamun curry dish, which was awesome. The beef was super tender and flavors were on point. Would come back.

Yelp
Galanga is easily the best Thai restaurant in WeHo. I don't believe I've tried anything there that wasn't at least good, if not great. I almost always get it take-out, but I can attest that they're friendly and helpful. My go-tos are Pad Kee Mao and Pad Thai, both of which are great. I could stand for them to go a little spicier on the Pad Thai, but the heat is at least serviceable. The Tom Kha soup is heavenly.
google avatar

Yelp
Always an enjoyable experience at Galanga Thai. The staff is always friendly, the food is tasty, and the prices are very reasonable. They also let you bring in wine with a small corkage fee (last I checked it was a $5 fee?). The mango sticky rice was sooooo good! All the other dishes we had were good too. I'm a fan of their soups, even during warm weather. And if you can, sit out in the back patio during warmer months. Enjoy!

Yelp
First time here dined outside. I ordered the avocado salad amazing dish I loved the dressing. Portion is perfect. My husband ordered green curry and my sister in law ordered orange curry both curry dishes came with a small bowl of rice. Both perfect portions not too much not too little. Also ordered crab rangoons nice and crisp. Amazing service. If I'm ever near or around this area again I'll definitely stop by.

Yelp
The food is amazing and very flavorful. Great prices. Nice people and wonderful service. The place is very nice on the inside. Can't wait to comeback

Yelp
In my top 5 favorite restaurants!!! I have introduced so many people to this resto and not one said that it's average. Everyone I know who knows about this resto love this place for their uber delicious food and wonderful service.

Yelp
Love this place! I've been coming here for years and they are always so consistent!! The crab fried rice is fire with pickled jalapeños!! I will never stop coming here! Please keep it up! Also I usually get Togo but when I do dine in, the service is beyond expectations. The servers always recommend new and great items that are of course delicious! Thank you Galanga!!!
google avatar

Yelp
I had the lunch special and was very surprised at how much food it came with. One of the few spots left that still has an inexpensive lunch combo with a good amount of food.
google avatar

Tomas T.

Yelp
Pleasant, comfort Thai food. I like the curried dumplings, eggplant and Tom Kha Gai. They used to have the best duck noodle soup with tamarind but they dropped it as nobody ordered it. Prices are good.
google avatar

David R.

Yelp
The food wonderful and the staff are among the nicest in the neighborhood. This is our go-to spot for a casual dinner.

Yelp
Picked a Thai spot at random for lunch and feeling lucky to have ended up at Galanga Thai Fusion! The lunch specials here are worth every penny and go as low as $9, which is unheard of nowadays. In order of preference, I got the Beef Stew lunch special ($13), House Lettuce Wrap ($11) to share with a friend, and Thai Iced Coffee ($3.50). I got the Beef Stew with brown rice at no extra charge. I highly recommend giving this item a try especially since I haven't come across it at many Thai places. I particularly enjoyed the peanut-heavy curry and the tender pieces of beef. The curry had a perfect consistency that the rice soaked up without getting soggy, and the rice to curry ratio was impressively precise that I didn't have extra of one or the other at the end. I also would get the House Lettuce Wrap again, which came with four lettuce wraps and a sizable helping of seafood doused in lime, not too unlike a ceviche. The Iced Coffee was also refreshing but a little too sweet for my liking. Although we came during a quick lunch break, the plant-centric seating in their backyard makes for a cute and secluded atmosphere for those who are in search of ambience. I'm very glad to have tried this place, and would most certainly return if I'm ever back in WeHo.

Yelp
Haven't been here in years but was craving their spicy beef salad. It was still so good. Nice and spicy. And Perfectly yummy pad see yew with beef. The noodles were supple and the broccoli was perfectly cooked --crisp tender. Easy parking and comfortable eatery. .
google avatar

Irene W.

Yelp
The staff is super super nice here. We came with our puppy and ate outside on their cute little patio. The food is portioned well and so tasty! We started off with tom yum soup with shrimp which was very good and came with very big juicy shrimp and lots of mushroom. The mushrooms were added in last I believe but it was nice because they were crunchy. I got the pad see ew with tofu (the tofu is fried so it paired well with the noodles) and they gave so much egg and the broccoli was super fresh and abundant. My boyfriend got the pad thai which was also super yummy he basically finished his whole plate. Def did not expect this place to be so good! It's so tasty and a def hole in the wall!

Cristian T.

Yelp
Hi, I am a local person who I have been coming to this place and ordering to go for many years. I don't think it nice from you to have A CHEPER PRICE ON YOUR ONINE MENU AND THEN CHARGE MORE ONCE FOOD IT IS READY TO PICK IT UP. Basically, you are stilling money from people's cards. SHAME ON YOU! I will never go to this place just because the fact that you at an .. ( the whole crew). During the pandemic the whole neighborhood was supporting your business. Don't forget it!!!!!! LOOK at YOUR ONLINE MENU AND MAKE SURE TO Update the prices. That's how businesses work. If you need a couple $$ I will tip you. Anyway, 3 DISHES =$70.

Yelp
This place was highly recommended by a couple locals from the area for both the delicious food and verrry reasonable prices. Stopped by during lunch and gave their lunch special a try, I had the teriyaki salmon, the pad thai and a couple of the dumplings & dumplings. LOVEDDD it!! The food was flavorful and very tasty, the service was genuine and the outdoor seating are was a nice touch. I'll be coming back!!

Tiny Y.

Yelp
Their tuna burrito is SO good qnd comes with an iced tea, and side salad. Service is super friendly/quick, and the portions are great for the price. The music was also really chill and volume was just loud enough to be enjoyable but not so loud it would be draining. Def coming back to try more items next time!

Anup P.

Yelp
Always great fresh tasting food with amazing service. All of their lunch options are great. The rice and vegetables are so fresh

Yelp
This was one of the worst meals I have had in a long time. I ordered takeout and went to pick it up which was why I even gave this meal any stars. It was packed well. Outside of that there was nothing good in this meal.ordered curry, it was all peppers and cauliflower with two pieces of eggplant, and almost no curry. The rice was not fresh at all. And was kind of crusty on the top, which just showed that it was pre-package, which was not a big deal because it was just rice. The gray was not great and again there was so little sauce. It was almost impossible to enjoy it the noodles were dry they had almost nothing in them and for pad Thai. This was really disappointing, because dry vermicelli noodles with four pieces of chicken was absolutely awful. Oh there was an old piece of lemon in it also so I guess that I could've squeezed that on it but there wasn't much in it. I asked when I was ordering and should have looked at the menu so I will take that as my fault, but I also asked a question to the person I was ordering from do you have spring rolls? He said yes, I said great they did not have spring rolls. They had a roll that was a piece of lettuce with a very small piece of tofu in it. I am allergic to tofu, so this was not a win and it really didn't look great because it was just lettuce with a small piece of tofu in it and did not really look like some thing that I would want to eat no other vegetable no other nothing when I think of a spring roll I'm thinking pork and shrimp with some veggies so again this was my mistake the sauce however on them excellent I couldn't eat the spring roll because of the tofu, but poured it on the lettuce and ate that because I was hungry because it was a terrible meal overall this meal was so disappointing. I actually just made food that I had in my fridge which I should've done in the first place and avoided this one. I do not recommend this if you're looking for actual Thai food, there are too many other places in Los Angeles where you could have a good meal.
google avatar

Yelp
Exactly what I was looking for. I wanted some of my favorite wonton soup with noodles and some tasty little app - O.M.G. The fried SHRIMP ROLLS ARE SO GOOD. Literally after one bite i immediately came to help to make sure I saved this place! Just loved tot he neighborhood and will definitely be coming back. The soup is good too! Lol

Yelp
Galanga is an awesome weho Thai spot. The staff is super kind and very efficient. Their papaya salad is one of the best I've had in a long time - I ordered it medium and it was spicy but not overwhelming. It had the perfect amount of fish sauce. The noodle dishes are great, vegetables are not overcooked and the meats are seasoned and spiced really well. I highly recommend if you're in weho and looking for a straightforward Thai spot that serves great food and friendly staff.

Yelp
Delicious Pad Thai and chicken skewers. Big servings and very reasonable . The food was delivered hot and fresh as well.

Max F.

Yelp
The service was absolutely impeccable. The food was delectable and it arrived in a timely manner which left us satisfied. The food was hot and fresh with natural ingredients, you could tell it was made with love by an authentic Thai chef. The atmosphere and seating area was very relaxing and all in all I would most definitely recommend Galanga to all of my LA friends. When you go make sure to get the Pad See Ew it's so good!

Jenna R.

Yelp
This place is so good. My only complaint is when i order curry it used to come in a to go bowl and you'd get lots of the curry sauce along with the veggies and stuff. Now they do to go orders for curry in a short tray, so there's hardly any sauce. It's just not as good. Hopefully they go back to the to go bowls/cups instead of trays!!

Yelp
My partner surprised me with dinner from Galanga Thai Fusion this evening. As I have never eaten here before I was super excited to try something new. Considering their strong Yelp following I was ready for a delight. Tom Kha Shrimp (10.95) I love shrimp hence Dan felt getting me Thai soup with shrimp would be a lovely treat. Sadly I ate one shrimp and it was old, not good. I hope I don't get sick. When shrimp is old it has a rancid fishy taste. It has been 20+ years since I tasted bad shrimp. Dan tasted the broth (as did I) and we both did not like it. $10.95 down the garbage disposal. Done. Pad Kee Mao - Beef (7.95) Dan ordered it with medium spice. I could not eat it, way too spicy for my taste buds. Even Dan whom can handle hot foods found it a bit too extreme. I had a couple of bites and realized I could not eat it. My rule on Yelp is to never go below 3 stars for any restaurant review. ONLY time I do 1 or 2 stars is when I have nothing to eat and must find food elsewhere. Reality is I now have to go into the kitchen and make something else or get some other food delivered. Ugh. Maybe we just got the wrong dishes. IDK. All I know is that I'm never returning in this lifetime. Pouring expensive takeout food into the garbage disposal is something I hate to do. Fortunately others have had good experiences here.

Yelp
Pad Woon Sen I live in the area and have been going here for years and recently my experience has been very sub par. Every time I've gone this year, I've noticed the ingredient list has dwindled for a couple of dishes, but this is absurd. This used to come with julienne carrots, broccolini and cabbage, and now look at this sad dish of cherry tomatoes, bean sprouts, egg and a sliver of green onion. Reference this photo from before: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/galanga-thai-fusion-west-hollywood?select=KIoKMBsp3CEVElkwKrIqgA&utm_campaign=www_photo_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct)

Yelp
I was in the mood for Thai food and decided to order takeaway. My review is as follows: Beef Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles): 5 stars! Delicious silky rice noodles and tender beef slices. This dish comes as medium spicy but man their medium spicy is spicy! I would Ofer this fish again and though I like spicy food, I'd order this dish as a mild and request chili on the side. I loved the brightness that the fresh bell peppers and Thai basil added to this dish. If you're looking for a flavorful go-to Thai noodle dish then order the pad kee mao. Tom Kha soup add shrimp: 1 Star. Sadly this dish was not good at all. The soup had an overall fishy smell and though I elected to not try the shrimp, the flavor of the broth was somewhat sour. I ended up dumping this soup down the drain. I would not recommend this soup. The people here were very nice and I will come back here again for my noodles. I look forward to trying their curry dishes and will keep in mind to stick to the pork chicken or beef options.

Yelp
This is the most disgusting thing I've ever put it my mouth. Also, would it kill you guys to put descriptions of your dishes for people ordering g delivery? This Thai Chicken Pasta is repulsive. Did you make this with Skippy peanut butter?!? And why is there a gallon of this gross sauce? There's more sauce than noodles. The chicken is inedible. All I taste is peanut butter. That's it. Do better. Bye.
google avatar

Justin F.

Yelp
Got delivery, Tom Kha was underwhelming, crab wontons were basic, pad Thai left me pondering my decision to order from here...

Yelp
Best Thai food in WEHO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Incredible food, fast service, good area, clean spot. Highly recommend

Yelp
Amazing place! Very chill atmosphere and very friendly staff. It's definitely a spot loved by locals! The food comes out quickly and it is very fresh and flavorful! Very authentic Thai food! My niece gave me a piece of her orange chicken and it was by far the best I've had! Egg rolls and rangoons were nice and crunchy. Don't even get me started on their Tom Kha soup! Will definitely return when I come back to LA!
