Galata Bistro Mediterranean Grill

Upscale Mediterranean restaurant located in downtown Menlo Park. Offers a good variety of Mediterranean dishes. Of the two items we ordered here, the dishes are pretty good. They offer free bread and oil dip which is a huge plus. Customer service is okay and the drink menu could be improved a bit. [The Food and Drink] We thought the food here was great for the price. The falafel was crisp and tasted authentic. The soup was excellent as well. We were really happy that they also offer bread at the beginning of the meal which is really nice and under appreciated nowadays! The drinks could be a little more varied if possible. For instance, their IPA beer was literally just listed as "IPA" without any distinction as to locale or brand. Otherwise, great food and drink! [The Location] Great location here located right on Santa Cruz avenue in Menlo Park. They have a good amount of outdoor seating and the restaurant doesn't appear to get very crowded which is nice! The street is quiet and the area is very safe by California standards!

Amazing subtle but very flavorful! Super smooth hummus, veggie moussaka was dreamy!

Food was good, however the waitress opened another bottle of seltzer when we didn't ask for it and charged us an extra 7.5 in the process. This was despite the first bottle being half full. Wouldn't go again just because of that.

The bread is really good, came with an olive oil based dipping/sauce

This was my first time here and I enjoyed every bit of it. The staff were nice and welcoming, and the food was delicious. I ordered the combo plate so I could try the different kebabs. I must say I enjoyed their bread service way too much and asked to take my leftover bread to go. They obliged and even added more for more. I'll be going back to try more items on their menu.

Nice and quiet outside dining experience. Galata kebab was an excellent choice. Manti was great. Manti is in many ways similar to Chinese style sui-gyoza, but on yogurt.

Extremely friendly staff, great quality ingredient food, large portions and relaxing atmosphere!

Oh my goodness! If you are in the San Jose area, run down to downtown Menlo Park and eat at Galata. Mmm. The octopus is AMAZING! I found my new favorite spot to eat when traveling here. I am gluten free and felt completely safe eating here. The server was very kind and helpful with options and recommendations.
