I've been on the road for days on a business trip from Atlanta and happened to stop here by chance. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming—something I hadn’t experienced in a long time. They truly made me feel at home. It was a Friday night, and to my surprise, there was live Turkish music, which was a wonderful bonus. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the place was very clean. Even as someone who usually doesn’t enjoy dining out, I was genuinely impressed. I’ll definitely be coming back.

An unforgettable dining experience! This Turkish restaurant sets the bar incredibly high—not just in Michigan, but compared to places I’ve visited abroad. The food is rich in flavor and clearly made with passion and precision. From the appetizers to the desserts, everything was outstanding. The chef clearly knows their craft, and the attention to detail is next-level. On top of that, the staff were genuinely kind and made us feel right at home. A true hidden gem—can’t wait to come back!

The atmosphere was elegant, spacious, and clean. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was even more enjoyable with the live music in the background. We ended our meal with the ice cream-filled katmer and a lovely Turkish tea presentation, it was the perfect finale. Huge thanks to the whole team for a wonderful experience!

Went to this place after hearing many amazing things about it, and galata absolutely exceeded my expectations! The food was absolutely incredible — even though the prices are a little bit high, it’s still completely worth it. Our waiter was very generous and sweet, as was everyone else. The atmosphere was beautiful: the stunning strung up lights, the pictures on the walls, and even the bathroom! I’ve had turkish cuisine at several places and this one has to be my favorite so far! The food is very authentic and they have a nice variety of options :>

I had to be rolled out. Super grateful to be welcomed here! Didn't get the names of the servers but they were so generous and kind. I am learning Turkish and they were so patient with me! The live music was a nice addition to the ambiance. Portions were very generous. I left very full for the rest of the night (had a flight until midnight and did not need to eat at all), despite us coming in for lunch. Wish I took better pictures but I was so hungry I rushed through them. Tea was excellent. I drank the majority of the pot while sharing with a friend. Lokum was fantastic. Tahini (sesame - brown in picture), pistachio (green with red center), rosewater (I don't remember the flavor for the green one unfortunately). I took some home on the flight and ate them a week later - still yummy! I want to update this at some point but also needed to leave pictures/comments because they were so awesome! Teşekkürler!🙏🏻

Such an amazing experience and the best hospitality I’ve ever had in Michigan, between the live music, the owner and the staff being so kind and gracious. To talk to us and acting so friendly, I will be coming back for years to come. I really appreciate the service and fresh tasting food that is out of this world 🇹🇷 🇺🇸

Galata in Sterling Heights was such a delightful surprise! My family enjoyed the Turkish culinary experience from the moment we entered, the authentic Turkish decor, including chandeliers and Music! The menu had a lot to choose from, we did the Lebanese Faatee, Large meat platter, and of course the Meat Pide - Turkish-style flatbread. We loved all the fresh herbs and veggies that came with the dishes… tomatoes, peppers, and onions, and cilantro and mint! We almost skipped dessert but instead had some kunafa and ice creme. The restaurant was clean, the owner was passionate, and offered great recommendations. The staff’s hospitality enhances the dining experience, with their attentiveness and kindness. Check it out

Yelp
Went for Iftaar so they were very busy. We went about 30 minutes before iftaar and ordered right away but the food took sometime to come out even after Iftaar. The food was very fresh, and good but flavours didn't blow me away. The place is nicely decorated and the servers are very polite. The quantity of food for the price was a little less, specially comparing to nearby Arab restaurants and their platters. Not sure if I would go back. Halal!

Yelp
I contacted friends and we went to Galata to order the family-styled "Sultan Breakfast." They say it feeds 4-6, and was indeed impressive when they brought in a beautiful hot tea service for 4 and another table to accommodate the lavish and luxury spread. Breakfast included plenty of delicious, high-quality breads, cheeses, olives, honey, sweet preserves, labneh, eggs, nutella, tahini, shakshuka, and a cheese-covered baked flat bread with thin slices of sausage and fresh tomatoes. I may have forgotten an item or two, but we shall never forget the stellar hospitality of Jaihoon and his wonderful wait staff. We were made to feel like instant family. Jaihoon had 2 glasses of hot tea brought to the table while I waited for my three friends to arrive. Delightfully, Jaihoon also sat down, too, to enjoy a tea with me as we enjoyed a nice chat about Turkish cuisine, Galata, and the local food scene. What exceptional hospitality! The food presentation was perfectly organized and very impressive. Our Chaldean friend helped us navigate all the food and how to combine items together for maximize flavor and authenticity. Jaihoon and the waitstaff knew we were in good hands, but continued to also answer our questions and checked on our table. The restaurant filled up within 40 minutes, and reservations are recommended. The ambience at Galata is happy and energized. It is fueled naturally by the pure enjoyment of everyone enjoying their meals and beverages over conversations and communing with family & friends. We four friends came hungry to Galata, and so enjoyed all of the flavors of The Suktan Breakfast, our epicurean adventure in Turkish cuisine. We loved every morsel and still had 2 containers that left with us. We're already planning on a return for dinner. Bring your family and friends as we plan to do with others who need to experience all Galata has to offer. Thank you, Galata. It was truly memorable.

Yelp
4.5 The Lamb chops were good, nice grilled flavor and seasoning. You get some different sides, that were also good. The rolled-up meat dish (Beyti Kebap) was good too. Not liked in the photos. Larger and a lot fewer. Turkish tea was nice too. They were out of the lamb skewers that we wanted to try. The service was slow. The waiter didn't speak good English and waited on another table that came 10 minutes after us that had what appeared to be their Turkish friends. It took at least 45 minutes to get our food. So not a place to go for a quick lunch. Will be back since the food is good and different. The pasties Simit and Acmi were good too. Nice Turkish music and video playing which was good to watch and listen too. Cool lamps too.
