Galatoire's 33 Bar & Steak

Our meal here was socially immersion! We sang along celebrating 5 birthdays (none in our party) over 2 hours. The environment was surprisingly raucous despite jackets being required for gentlemen. We really enjoyed our food, a variety of classic creole appetizers and dishes. We would happily return for the excellent food even though party members with partial hearing loss struggled with the noise.

Everything about the restaurant was amazing. We are vacationing here and this was our first stop. Our server Thomas was so friendly. Our food was phenomenal, I dont know how rice makes a sauce an explosion of flavor but it does! The crab Maison I could eat for every meal! What a way to start our stay!

I was about to give up on the New Orleans food scene and chalk up the reputation to urban legend. Then we stumbled upon this gem of Cajun flavor and southern hospitality. Nathaniel was a treasure trove of information and recommendations, he made the experience. We had a wide array of apps, personally the sweetbread and turtle soup were unique and memorable for me. We finished with a ribeye that was seared and seasoned beautifully. The cocktails were refined and so far above the touristy surroundings.

A New Orleans classic - great food, service and atmosphere. This was one of our first dinners and several of our group had eaten there previously. It matched their description as being one of the best restaurants in New Orleans. Our waiter, Nathaniel, described the menu and amazing appetizers, which we of course ordered. Excellent creole food. Reservations and dinner jackets are required.

Food was spectacular, staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome (even though we didn't realize there was a dress code and we were banished to "the green room"). What an amazing experience and as always, NOLA knows how to do food.

We have been at Galatoire’s before and had a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, this time, we had a poor one. The service was slow despite it being a Tuesday night in September. The meal took nearly 3 hours, and we watched tables that came in after us turn over before we received our entrees. Some of our parties meals were room temperature. But the biggest issue was that the manager on the floor and waitstaff did not seem to care. It was a very disappointing experience.

My wife and I walked in on a busy Saturday night without a reservation. We were seated immediately, and we were able to order unrestricted off the regular Galatoire's menu. Fabulous atmosphere. Great food. Friendly staff.

We used the bar self-seating. Got a bottle of wine, the sweetbreads, duck, and some other stuff. Would go back. Service was quick.

Galatoire's is a fine dining establishment where jackets are required. However, if you don't happen to have fancy attire you can still enjoy the same quality food next door at Galatoire's 33 Bar & Steak. Opened in 2013, the place is a little less bougie but still emits a bit of Southern elegance. The custom-built arched bar, vinyl booths, marbled tables, & tin ceiling adds a bit of upscale charm. I always sit at the bar when I'm here and have an enjoyable conversation with the bartenders. An ice-cold martini is a must as is the Souffle Potatoes. On a recent visit I had the Crab Maison and Onion Rings, in addition to the Souffle Potatoes. The Crab Maison was very tasty, and the onion rings were perfect! I loved the seasoning.

We had a reservation at Galatoire's. However, they have a dress code that does not allow people to wear shorts, which is what I had on. The maître d' took us next door to Galatoire's Bar, which had no dress code, but served the exact same food. The food was excellent, as was the service. We would go back in a heartbeat!

Always a wonderful dining experience. 10/10. Love that we can have a wonderful meal in a casual setting at Galatoire's 33!

Food was good. Steak was a bit undercooked but was still good. Really enjoyed the potatoes augratin and crab augratin. Definitely would go again when in NOLA.

Our waiter really tarnished our experience. We had drinks never refilled and he handed a hot plate to my daughter. He actually asked her to take it. We had to ask for bread plates. The shrimp creole and filet were very good. What we've experienced in the past is not the level of service we received. Absolute shame.

Once inside this fine dining restaurant with its old Southern charm , you would never know the wild world of Bourbon street is just beyond its doors. Dress code is a definite (jackets for men). The food was generally delicious, though I tend to like a bit more salt and added to my otherwise delicious bowl of gumbo. The star of my meal were the soufflé potato's (how they get them to puff up like that is really love to know). I moved on to the Oysters Rockefeller and though delicious, the spinach was a bit overwhelming (yes, I know that's how they are prepared but there was just SOOO much spinach). Because I've been eating my way through the city, I ended with a simple shrimp salad with lump crab meat, which was honestly delicious and left me not feeling too stuffed. Service was a bit mismatched. Bless his heart, but there was one server who seemed a bit all over the place, and had the bad habit of engaging in far too much small talk. He also cross talked the table at one point, instead of going directly to the person and asking what they want. He almost spilled a plate on someone, and was just generally clumsy in his service. Poor guy just seemed nervous or something. All and all, it was a fine experience, though walking out onto a raucous Bourbon street definitely killed the soothing vibes created within.

Galatoiroe's is always the highlight of of NOLA trips. My husband and I have been coming here for over 20 years. The service is stellar and the food is excelled by the service. We always make reservations as soon as we secure a hotel and always pack a sports coat to enjoy a meal hear.

As a native New Orleanian, I've been to plenty of the iconic New Orleans restaurants but somehow had never made it to Galatoire's. We booked a table at G33 looking for the best of both worlds for my husband's birthday- the legendary Galatoire's ambiance and menu, just a little more laid back. When we came in, not one, but two employees acted like they were surprised to see us, asking if we were sure we had requested "in here" (meaning not the main dining room) as if we had made a sub par choice. After the second person seated us without a welcome or any pleasantries another member of our party asked if there was an issue with us being there instead of next door. She said no, it was just that jackets were not required and both of the men in our party had jackets on. There were other people already seated and eating that also had on jackets so it was a bizarre exchange considering we were dressed appropriately, and the jackets were worn not only to look nice for a special occasion but also because it was chilly that night in the city. It took about five minutes and a young man came to pour our water. He appeared as high as a kite and therefore was barely able to be understood, mumbling the whole time. More on him later. Our server then came to the table and asked if we wanted to order any drinks. He did not introduce himself, did not welcome us to G33, and didn't ask if we were there to celebrate anything or if we had been before, nothing. Literally walked up to the table and asked if we needed a drink menu. He returned with the drinks and simply set them down, not saying another word. We got bread, and requested appetizer plates, knowing we'd order apps but also to use with the bread. Another bar back (not the water boy) brought us 4 plates, 2 of which were dirty. It was at this point another member of our party got up and found one of the women that appeared to be in charge and told her we had gotten off to a rocky start. She told us that Galatoires "does not give out bread plates, you're supposed to eat it as is at the table" almost as if we were stupid for asking for them. She did apologize for the dirty ones and said she'd switch our server. We ended up with Kelsey, who was amazing- literally the only bright spot in the whole experience. After appetizers (escargot and oysters en brochette) we all ordered steaks. Sides included brussel sprouts (A+), spinach Rockefeller (cold, had an odd texture and appearance), potatoes au gratin (cold) and lyonnaise potatoes (also cold). My filet was also ice cold. It was difficult to enjoy as well because the bar back I mentioned earlier was on top of us the whole time, constantly refilling water glasses which he overflowed numerous times, splashing onto the table and into the food. We split the bill 50/50 and with tip it was nearly $300 for both parties. Kelsey deserved every penny of her gratuity but other than her, we left quite shocked honestly. I'd like to give Galatoire's another chance but not any time soon. Oddly enough whenever friends visit from out of town I always recommend it, even without ever having eaten there, but I'll leave it off my list moving forward.

I had never been to Galatoire's but I won a $100 gift certificate at work so I went sat at the bar on my off day. The staff was very pleasant and helpful when it came to helping me out with my order. I ended up getting the duck crepe appetizer which was pretty good and rich in flavor, I actually liked it a lot. I got the red fish with lump crab meat for my entree, the crab was so buttery and delicious. Huge fan of the fish. I finished off with the sweet potato cheesecake for dessert, and THATTTTT was my favorite. I had to double back later before they closed for another!

Maybe it was the night I'm not sure or the hype but the foie gras was almost raw and I expected exceptionalism and it just wasn't there

Stopped by for a drink right at opening- had our choice of spots. Found a table that allowed us to do some people watching whilst sipping cocktails. Very nice.

Galatoire's Restaurant and Bar gives that New Orleans feel. Since 1905 right on Bourbon Street. That classy feel of tradition from the moment you walk in the door. The establishment doesn't allow shorts in the main dining room. The waiter's and waitresses are dressed to impress. And the menu will delight even the most critical guest. Enjoy this place is a must see when you visit Bourbon Street. And if like a particular dish the recipe is on their website. Bon appétit.

Had a great dinner at this place right off bourbon st. Service was responsive and friendly always carried a smile. The place was really fancy with two classes of dining rooms. If you want to be in first class dining room slacks and a sport coat are required no exceptions. The second class dining room had the same menu but no dress code.

A little reprieve walking off bourbon street takes you back in a time warp to classy New Orleans! Very cool, formal yet relaxing! Bob the bartender was great and the Sancerre fantastic! Gumbo was the best. Highly recommended!

Has always been a must do on our New Orleans visits. Food and service are good, but being just before Christmas, it was extremely busy. Not a relaxing evening.

Such a great experience. Sonny is the best waiter we've ever had tbh. Food was incredible. Service was incredible. Loud as hell, but so worth it. Can't wait to come back. Never felt so good after a meal.

I stopped by the esteemed Galatoire's during my visit to New Orleans. They offer a traditional dining experience as well as a more relaxed one in the Galatoire's 33 bar right next door. You can choose your setting accordingly. They do impose a dress code for men, which includes long pants and collared shirts, and jackets after 5pm. I called to confirm the dress code and it apparently applies in both dining rooms. I did see a handful of diners wearing shorts, so it doesn't seem to be too strictly enforced, at least during the day. The food was excellent. The bread and cocktails were fresh and delicious. I tried the duck and andouille sausage gumbo and was blown away by its deliciousness. The maple leaf duck was cooked to a perfect medium rare, though the dish could have used some vegetables. Service was attentive and friendly. The brought more bread and water without being asked! Overall a fun spot for a unique NOLA experience.

Fckn fantastic!!! Let's begin with the CRAB CAKE!!! Mandatory... I've eaten seafood all my life but this was the BEST damn crab cake I ever had.. full of lump jumbo crab with light breading, with a lil sauce.. yelp reviews don't compare to the real thing! 2nd.. the ribeye!! Cooked to perfection, juicy, tender, all I wanted it to be. Staff was exceptional, I probably spoke to most who worked there. Everyone made sure I was enjoying my meal. When u visit New Orleans, come here!!

In my house, April is French 75 month! We have been visiting, and revisiting, restaurants around the city enjoying French 75s along the way. We went to Galatoire's 33 Bar & Steak specifically for the crab cakes. Unfortunately, the kitchen that makes them has not reopened since the lockdown. Typically the bar serves food from 3 different kitchens which was something interesting I learned on this visit. While not having the crab cakes was disappointing, we had plenty of other great food and of course, several French 75s. My favorite dish was definitely the Crab Maison. Delicious sweet crab balanced perfectly with salty capers and spicy mustard. This is something I could eat everyday in the summer and never get tired of. The Oysters en brochette is a classic New Orleans appetizer you aren't likely to find anywhere else in the city these days. The crispy, fried exterior is the perfect contrast to the creamy oyster inside. These are not your average fried oysters. Cocktails at Galatoire's 33 Bar & Steak are expertly crafted and reasonably priced. While I enjoyed the French 75 this time around, I can definitely recommend the milk punch here as well. Maybe in the cooler months as it reminds me of an elevated eggnog.

The stellar steak house is no longer. No aged steaks and no special sides for us anymore. I once would have selected this as a special location for birthdays and such...no more. It's now an extension of regular Gallitoires and though the food is good not great. The service has not returned either. To say this is over flow is correct. You've lost me as a customer and don't sell yourself that you are a steak house. Regular tourist trap.

Top 5 meal all time! Really great experience in the French Quarter. Food: 5 Stars - Best crab cake EVER! All crab no filler, sweet, tender, excellent sauce, beautiful prep. Bread was so light french, fresh, amazing with whipped butter. 7 oz filet cooked perfectly, excellent seasoning, beautiful prep. Au Gratin potato cooked to perfection, wonderful cheese, perfect prep and presentation. Service: 4.5 stars - staff was pretty attentive, food delivery was excellent, drink service was appropriate, very pleasant staff, friendly. Prices: 4 Stars - probably appropriate with quality of ingredients and state of inflation, but just wish it was a little lower. Prices have gone up from menu online. But, was happy to pay for the quality. What a great experience, going to visit again for sure!

We ate at Galatoire's 33 Bar and Steak while visiting NOLA for a St Patrick's Day. It's connected to Galatoire's, but it's a separate, more casual restaurant. We were seated on a Friday afternoon which I highly recommend. The place is hopping, and the atmosphere is exciting. The professionals of NOLA flock here on a Friday after a hard week so it's loud, crowded and serving up delicious food. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

What amazing lunch I can't even tell you in worlds how amazing the food is at this amazing restaurant I love the classic feel of the restaurant ate at the bar and the bar staff are amazing I keep saying amazing but I'm blown away of the service you get at the bar way better than sitting at a table I definitely be back and recommended Friends and family to the steakhouse!!!!

I feel like I can't give it 5 stars cause we just had drinks at the bar...but those drinks and the environment alone earn 4 stars. Our friend works for Macallan so we got their rum in a Daiquiri and Old Fashioned. That bartender was really good. The daiquiri was perfect. just enough rum and citrus flavor, easy to drink and delicious. The old fashioned was probably my fav old fashioned ever and Im not big on them in the first place. After a while, the orange bitters really sits in and adds great flavor. As for the atmosphere, quite swanky compared to the rest of Bourbon st which I liked. Bunch of young adults in cute dresses and blazers, much more of a mature crowd than the rest of the FQ. The food looked good, I would think you need a reservation here though.

We were sent her by our Guide, Lofton.He wasn't wrong when he said order the crab cakes. Delicious. The main dining room was hosting a dinner for a carnival ball but this was perfect. Dude did sides, We ordered a couple crab cakes and a couple cocktails. Highly reccomend!

Went in with high expectations, ended with disappointment. The price doesn't match the taste. Sure most of the dishes are "good", but nothing spectacular. Service was slow, notable staff like Demond were very attentive and helped us out quite a bit however. Ambience was fantastic, intimate, good lighting, great setting. Starter bread is bland and needed to be coated with butter for any taste, but we were hungry and waiting so we'd ordered some more. We'd ordered a buffet fit for a king for the 6 of us, so we can go down quite a large list. Yellowfin Tuna was decent, but dry and a bit salty. Duchess potatoes were rubbish, super bland, nothing could save it from being half-decent. Deviled eggs were good, topped with caviar giving it a nice finish. Crab cakes were absolutely fantastic and the best I'd ever had, crisp on the top and soft and tender for everything underneath. This place could just replace their whole menu with crab cakes and I'm sure it would do fine. Cauliflower au gratin (I think) was good, not great. Decent flavor, nothing special as was the case with the lobster au gratin, green bean au gratin. Brother says his duck was just mediocre, nothing eye popping about it or anything that stood out. Sister enjoyed her bone marrow quite a bit. Diced potatoes were very crisp and very flavorful, loved them. Dessert was weird, just off flavors that didn't quite make sense to me. It was a chocolate dish with ice cream on the side, but the side of ice cream was very flavorful. So it's a really odd place. It's a mixture of some hit, but a lot of miss or truly mediocre dishes. I would come here again solely for the crab cakes and wouldn't be this unforgiving typically for a restaurant, but based on the service time, the price point, and expectations, I believe I'm being fair.

We booked a table of four for Reveillon. After researching all the menus available for 2017, we selected this restaurant. Now, we all know Galatoire's has a lofty rep, and they have a loyal clientele. Knowing that and being arrogant about are two different things. Sadly, this place seems to prefer the latter approach. Our visit started out great, with the exception that our super-gregarious server decided to describe EVERY item on the menu. Slight overkill. Cocktails were nice & came out promptly (faster if he would have taken that order before the Discovery Channel documentary on the menu). Shrimp Risotto for the first course was delightful - though one member of the party found it too salty. I thought it was near perfect, and the risotto itself was as pure white as I have ever seen. We split the second course between the gumbo and the turtle soup. I think the soup was the winner here. The gumbo did not impress me. I found it thin and weak, but the turtle soup was deep and rich. We also split our choices for the entree - Filet and Broiled Drum. Let's just say the Filet was perfect. I selected the Drum, which was served, skinless (was it really Drum?) on a cold bed of creamed spinach. The fish itself was properly cooked, if uninspired. There was a third, unselected option - pork roast. Finally we came to dessert. Three of our party selected the chocolate Creme Brulee. It was nice, but again, uninspired. I think it's hard to get a proper crust on a chocolate Creme Brulee because you can't see the color change. I, on the other hand, order the "Sweet Potato 'HOT' Pie." I received what appeared to be a Hibuig's Pie, sans icing, with a tiny scoop of vanilla & a drizzle of caramel. Like, this came straight out of Season One of Treme. The filling was flavorless & the consistency of baby food. I attempted to speak to the manager on the way out regarding the dessert & he clearly did not care. Literally, he simply shrugged when I told him they insulted ,me with the desert. Yupp, when you think yourself a legend, arrogance is an easy response.

Galatoire's has been an institution of culinary service in Nola for over 60 years. You can't go wrong dining here. The food, the service and the atmosphere all represents the Nola way of life. I always enjoy coming here for dinner or lunch. They just do everything right from water pouring to serving coffee. On this visit we enjoyed an amazing dinner; thanks to our server John who made it special. The appetizers were tasty and the steaks were made perfectly as we wanted them. Go and enjoy 33!

Galatoire's 33 isn't as hoity-toity is its parent Galatoire's, but you'll find that both the level of service and the quality of the food is just as incredible. Here, they focus on steaks; order one and you'll find it flavorful, tender, and cooked exactly as per your specification. Last time we dined here, the starters we ordered were the Oysters Casino and the Escargot Herbsaint Cream, with a delicious, chilled glass of champagne to help them go down. The entrées we chose were the bone-in special Filet and the Ribeye; we requested and received them both cooked medium rare. Our steaks were seasoned to perfection and totally delicious. For dessert with shared the Chocolate Malt cake with homemade marshmallows and the Cheesecake Brûlée with white balsamic strawberries. The perfect end to a fabulous meal, our desserts left us so full we considered simply relocating to the restaurant rather than getting up and walking to our car ;-) Tip: All the food here is excellent, but if you're only going to order one thing I strongly advise that it be their Ribeye!

It deserves more than 5 stars! Excellent! I had the greens and garlic salad, pork chop, and cauliflower au gratin. The pork chop was thick, juicy, flavorful and cooked to perfection. Cauliflower au gratin was tasty and delicious. The French bread was warm and delicious. Fantastic all the way around. Thank you!

We have dined here for the last 40 years and it only gets better. On our recent trip to New Orleans the drinks, as well as the food were excellent. We love the old fashion, wait staff, and their southern hospitality.

Service was top notch. The food was a big disappointment. A "loaf" of a roll with a dab of butter was delivered before dinner. The bread was awful and disappointing. I ordered the soufflé potatoes and the stuffed eggplant. The soufflé potatoes weren't what I expected. They were hollow rectangle puffed potatoes. They arrived barely warm and a bit soggy. The stuffed eggplant also wasn't what I expected. I received an oval mound of stuffing (think thanksgiving stuffing) on a plate, with pieces of something that was extremely firm to chew, and lump crab that couldn't be found. Both items were highly recommended by someone on Facebook. I was so excited to order these items but greatly disappointed. The wine I ordered was very good. Everyone I came in contact with was extremely nice, friendly and professional. This meal cost me $71 including tip.

Yummy gumbo ! Known for pecan pie but my crust was too hard needed a knife to cut it.

This is Galatoire's steakhouse, which is just as exceptional as the original restaurant. (It's literally next.) The food quality and service are on par with the original Galatoires. Wine list is extensive so no worries there either.

Such an awesome experience here. We were in the area and didn't have reservations for their dining room so figured we'd see if there was room in the bar area. We were sat immediately and our server was so nice and accommodating. He was really the best we could've asked for. The food was so good we cannot wait to come back and try more. The drink recommendations were on point and for all of this the price was extremely fair. Highly recommending this place to anyone!

My husband and I visited Steak 33 and had a remarkable time. My husband really likes steaks, so I thought this would be the perfect place for our date night. First things first,we selected and enjoyed the sparkling wine. For appetizers, we chose the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake and Baked Oysters. Both were delicious, but I really enjoyed the crab cake. Remember, MAMA LOUISIANA!!! My husband got the Filet Steak. He was highly impressed with the quality. He says it was one of the best steaks in the city. I chose the poultry, which was the Daily Fish. I have photos below of the (seasoned to perfection) fish. I love, love, love the sauce on the fish. For sides, we got potatoes au grautins and creamed spinach. Even though I am a foodie, I still like to incorporate veggies when I can. The Au Gratin menu at Steak 33 is pretty extensive. You can get anything Au Gratin from Spinach, Cauliflower, Potatoes, Peas, Crabmeat, Lobster and Broccoli. We topped off our date night with a Rum Rasin bread pudding. That was just the 'creme De La creme'. Magnificent!! ​ The restaurant is located on Bourbon Street. Perfect for getting out there then grabbing a good dinner to soak up all of the drinks! The waiters were extremely helpful and accommodating to us. We will be back for the Fried Chicken Brunch in September.

I came here with friends late Sunday night close to about 9:00 or 9:30pm. I don't come to nice places like this often, but I really enjoyed it overall! We get there, put our names down for a table, and are then told it would be about a 30 minute wait so we decide to do that and go exploring close by. We come back after the wait time, but still had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. The host seemed really stressed, but I was fine waiting. We finally get a table, what I liked was that it was right next to mirrors. You can check your hair/makeup without being obvious at all. We start off with drinks. I tried some of the French 33. I didn't like it. Too rose (roh-zay) for me so I went for the Flower Child. Much better to me! Now for the food, you get complimentary bread and butter. We didn't order any appetizers. Instead, we focused on our entree. We each had a filet mignon, our choice of sauce and vegetables for the table served family style. I got a 7 oz filet mignon. Amazing! It was the perfect size and cooked a perfect Medium like I wanted it. The sauce I got was mainly butter based. So delicious together. One of my friends ordered escargot (snails!) for the table. Being a yelper, I knew I had to try it! I didn't want to, but I did it for the review. I tried ONE snail. It tasted just like a mushroom. Not particularly good or bad, so I stopped at one. As for our vegetables, we chose steamed asparagus, collard greens, and brown butter mushrooms. Yum! I enjoyed all of them, but the brown butter mushrooms were my favorite. Now for dessert....the three of us shared two desserts of a slice of cake and the house ice cream sundae. The cake is described as a chocolate malt cake with toasted marshmallow. It was okay. Nothing too amazing or awful, but the house ice cream sundae stole the show. I'm still thinking about it! It's made with Louisiana strawberry jam, white chocolate shell shavings, and hazelnut toffee. Oh my goodness....this or the Nutty D'angelo from Perry's....one of those is my favorite desserts. I don't know which yet. This sundae was so refreshing from the strawberry sorbet, and had white chocolate as a topping. One of my favorites! It's really big...but as good as it was....one person can finish it. Yes, it's THAT good.

First of all, I meant to pick Galatoire's next door which had a more extensive menu. So I tried to pick similar items on the menu or at least something we've never had. The appetizers we got were disappointing. We chose the Goute 33 and turtle soup to start with. Only the egg with caviar was good. The turtle soup was salty and as an introduction to turtle soup, I wouldn't order it again. The entrees at least were fantastic. I enjoyed the boudin stuffed quail and my husband loved his gulf fish. I tried the fish and it was cooked perfectly. While I've had quail eggs, i've never had quail or boudin before, so this was a good introduction and I would try it again. The service was excellent and our bus boy was fantastic and on top of it throughout. The server was also very professional. Overall it was a good dining experience, but I'm curious as to how other places are like. Also, there's supposed to be a dress code but it wasn't really followed. The crowd seemed pretty young and looked like people were celebrating something. The front bar looked more fun and not as uptight. I'd rather hang out there instead to be honest.

10/10. Eating here was an EXPERIENCE that we'll never forget. I forgot our waiter's name (he said he was Egyptian) - he was PHENOMENAL. & the food was to-die-for. We'll be back.

This restaurant is over priced, but the service was good. My friends and I had the impression that we needed to be dressed up for this restaurant, but it's on bourbon street so it didn't quite make sense. When we got there we realized there are two galatoire restaurants. One seemed like it was meant for an older crowd and other seemed more relaxed, but it in upscale setting. This wasn't the real problem though. The problem was the food was good, but soo expensive. I ate only sides and they didn't have many options for people who don't eat steak. I wouldn't go back to this place, but I wouldn't say that you shouldn't. If you want a fancy place to eat in New Orleans, go here.

Upscale modern twist. Potato puffs indescribable

Everything was Terrific! Service was superb. Fried redfish with almonds was some if the best I've had. Pecan pie was unbelievably good. Highly recommended.

I really don't know what could have made our experience at Galatoire's 33 any better. From the moment the waitstaff introduced themselves, we knew we were in for a special evening. We were a group of 12 in town celebrating a bachelorette party and I had been corresponding with Billie and Kelsey from reservations about booking a private room for our event - they were so courteous and responsive. We ultimately decided against it, but for a party of 12 the minimum spend would have been $1000 before tax and gratuity, which we really didn't think was bad. The waiters explained the menu in detail, and answered any questions we had. We started off with two bottles of Veuve Clicquot Rose, and for the type of restaurant, I believe the price was fair (somewhere around $160 a bottle from what I recall) The table ordered a ton of different things, but I can only speak for what I tried and I STILL cant stop speaking about them! Tried: Steak Tartar $15.00 - The absolute best I have had...in life. I kid you not. I order this whenever I see it on a menu, and boy was this one delicious. We finished every single bite, and could have probably licked the plate clean. Turtle Soup $9.00 - The bachelorette and I knew coming to NOLA that we wanted to try Turtle Soup. It was hearty and delicious - the compete opposite of what I was expecting. It was almost a lighter version of a beef stew. 2 LB Steamed Lobster $59.00 - This was my entrée and I am so SO glad it was! It was steamed perfectly, juicy meat - and cracked and opened up so I didn't have to worry about making a mess. Gulf Fish with Crabmeat Meuniere $36.00 - This fish was a bit crispier than I had expected, but delicious and light none the less. The crab meat topping was amazing. The waiter made an announcement honoring the bachelorette, and asking the room for a cheers to her which was amazing. Bourbon street is not for the timid, but Galatoires 33 was an amazing seclusion from it all.

Celebrated my 30th birthday with some of my closest friends. The staff was so friendly, wine was amazing, and food was delicious. With all the craziness that bourbon street brings Galatoire's surprisingly keeps its composure and provides the level of class & style you would expect from a restaurant with the kind of menu and ambiance they have. Loved having a nice dinner and great conversation. It made turning the night up on bourbon street even more fun!! 100% recommend. I got the duck a'lorange Everyone enjoyed what they got!

My father-in-law wanted to share this special place with us. He lived in the area for years, and this was his "go to". We had such a fun time! The trout was incredible, but I loved my husband's red fish even more...literally one of the best bites of fish I have ever had! We all had appetizers that were incredible, and the drinks were pretty great! I love that our experience lasted for hours...it was just a fun way to spend the evening! I was kind of excited because I had been told that it was an establishment were the men had to wear jackets, and my father-in-law pointed out the extra jackets inside (to go to those who didn't wear one upon entering?). They didn't seem to make anyone do that, which isn't a big deal as a whole, but for him, the "specialness" of it had seemed to dissipate over the years, and he felt like the standards weren't quite the same as they were back in the early 2000's.

I stayed in NOLA a week, this is my 3rd five star review in that time. It started with the bread really. It was a wonderfully fresh loaf and the whipped butter whipped me into a mood for some good food. Next was these french fries that were air blown into these air filled potatoes. Potato blimps. I don't know the name as they were passed to me, but dang they were good. Ask the staff for air potatoes, I'm sure they'll know. My iceberg wedge was very good. Au gratin potatoes---------WOW Spinach was good, you are never getting a WOW for spinach, but it was good. Then my steak. I ordered the 16oz Ribeye. WOW I place this steak in my top five all time. I seriously was eating long after everyone was finished. I ate that steak so slowly, as if it were my last meal. Every bit of this steak was a bit of heaven floating into my mouth and there was no way I was wolfing it down. I then had the end table pass down the remaining Au Gratins and just savored. Ahhhh. My coworkers ordered the lamb chop and had the same descriptions. Enjoy, this place is real.

I was shocKed that we found a spot like this on burbon street during Mardi Grads. The food was on point, literally have nothing bad to say about any part of it. My wife had the stuffed quail with Au Gratin potato's and mushrooms and she loved it!!! I had the bone in filet with mashed potatoes and it was perfect. Staff is very friendly and it's not jammed packed. Would highly recommend this location
