Best lunch place in Northwest Hills by far! I’m sure it’s just as good later in the day. I’ve met friends here midday three times in the past few weeks, and each time it’s been great. The menus are by the door as you enter, so you can decide before you get to the counter back to the right. The bowls are all delicious, with my favorite being the Zocalo Bowl, with rice, beans, chicken, corn, avocado, tortilla chips, and tomatillo dressing. MmmMmmGood! The shrimp tacos are also scrumptious. The first two lunches were at 11:30, and both times, the place was packed. We were there about 1:15 yesterday and it wasn’t quite as busy, but people did keep streaming in. They have a variety of craft beers on tap, as well as wine.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Every single day, Mia and Carl at Galaxy Cafe in North Austin greet me with the best service in the world — truly above and beyond. I couldn’t ask for anything better. Today, I accidentally placed my order at the wrong Galaxy Cafe location, but Mia immediately greeted me with a smile and said it was no problem at all. She went out of her way to place my order at the North location and made everything so easy. If you’re looking for healthy, delicious food with incredible service, I can’t recommend Galaxy Cafe enough. My go-to is the Power Bowl — brown rice, carrots, veggies, and a fresh piece of salmon. Absolutely perfect every time. Thank you, Mia, Carl, and the entire Galaxy Cafe team!

Amazing. Got the G-Free Pesto Chicken Club with fruit. Absolutely delicious. The pesto and caramelized onions are an awesome combo (if somewhat messy, haha). It was presented excellently-- even had a toothpick sign declaring it gluten free. Service was very friendly. Food didn't come out super fast, but it tasted like the onions were freshly caramelized, and that takes time. The atmosphere was great--a blend of retro diner and modern. I am thoroughly glad I stopped in today.

I ordered tamales for pickup 2 days before Christmas at 11am. At 11:05 the website still showed that the order was not ready so I called. I was told that the order would be ready when I arrived. When I got there I saw 7 customers waiting for their orders ahead of me. After 30+ minutes (all 7 ahead of me had received their orders) I finally asked about mine. It took almost another 15 minutes to get the order. None of the tamale containers was labeled and I didn't find out until heating them up that I didn't receive the correct ones. I got a dozen beef tamales instead of vegetarian. After scrambling to russle something else up for the non meat eater in the family we finally sat down to eat. Unfortunately the fillings (pork, beef and chicken) were not mixed up very well with some bites bordering on bland and some so spicy they were barely edible.

I gave this place 5 stars for consistency. I have been coming here since 2011 at various locations, but this one is my favorite. Very clean, friendly staff, and I get the same quality food every time. I especially enjoy going to breakfast here, although I was a bit disappointed this morning when I wanted to be a little healthy and could not substitute the bacon and pork sausage for Turkey sausage. Oh well, poor me 🤠. I had to eat the pork sausage……. Eggs cooked perfectly every time. I will keep coming here unless they change.

I have been here a few times to get breakfast and have very good options for breakfast. The staff is always very polite and welcoming. Defintely a great spot if you like low lighting atmosphere. They have a few tables outside as well to enjoy your food and coffee.

We ate lunch at the Mesa location on 9/24/25. There were 7 of us and one of the staff people quickly pulled together 2 tables and added a chair. Orders made at the counter were promptly delivered and all of us enjoyed our meal. One of the family group has celiac and she was carefully accommodated with no fuss. This restaurant is a favorite both on W. Lynn and Mesa. Very comfortable dining with a good menu.

What a great find! This little brunch spot was perfect for us this Sunday morning. We didn't want a long line, and the free-style here is to go place your order at the register first, then you get a number, pick up your glass to get your drinks and sit at your chosen table until the food is magically delivered in a few minutes. Perfect! We read from the varied menu es (they have 3) before going up to the register to place our order. We were there around 10:30 and there was no line, but around 11 am the line started forming, so get there early, although I have to say that it moved quick. The food arrived also fast, and it was tasty!! I enjoyed an avocado toast with egg and bacon: yum! We also ordered a steak chimichurri wrap: super juicy and delicious came with fries, and an egg spinach jalapeño with extra steak wrap that was also yummy... no complaints. Had a pleasant fun brunch and off we went to continue our Austin adventure!

Today I decided to give Galaxy Cafe a whirl for the first time since it's close to where we live. It's self serve where you grab a menu and decide what you want and place an order with the cashier. Three menus: main, breakfast and gluten free. The restaurant is spacious with parties of all sizes: 1, 2, 4, 8 and 20. The wall design is abstract and modern, which I was pleasantly surprised by. I chose avocado toast, one of my favorite breakfast foods. The top of the avocado toast was good...a bit spicey. The bread, Swiss muesli, was very hard and I gave up on the bread after trying to cut one piece. The oatmeal chocolate chip cookie was very good. Firm on the outside and soft on the inside with melted chocolate chips inside. I will definitely stop by to get one of these cookies. This restaurant is family oriented. You can tell they have a number of regulars. The noise level is pretty high as I could hear the conversation of a group across the restaurant. I may come back and try another menu item.

A couple of friends and I went here for dinner because one of us is gluten-free, and they have a large gluten-free menu. You order at a counter and the staff brings the food out. We each tried a different entree. I had the salmon sriracha tacos which were really good and not too spicy. One friend tried the elotes chicken tacos which she said were very spicy. The third friend tried the salmon dinner, and she really liked it. Our only issue was that the restaurant was kind of dark, especially after sunset, and needed more lighting.

Liked the fact they have gf and vegan choices , each location is set up differently and decorated differently, mostly nice staff and price is fair, been to different locations and had lemonade and strawberry cupcakes and gf bread with mushrooms avocado rice dry burgers vegan choice , sweet potatoes side, think that the mushroom need more flavor and rice burgers ingredients need more flavor it's always dry in the sides . Tomatoes are ok mostly

I ordered the Roasted Veggie Buddha Bowl, which is vegan as-is. I asked about the dressing and the person about the counter was quick to open a binder that showed all ingredients, which I appreciated. This is definitely a local spot and not very cutesy/trendy like many popular Austin places, but it's a good place for a more classic breakfast or lunch option.

The food is so good here. I get the chimichurri wrap with mac n cheese everytime. I always order thrpugh doordash and my orders are always speedy!

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. As first time patrons they gave us the quick rundown on ordering and the food. My wife and I both ordered wraps and both were amazing and fairly priced. Would definitely recommend.

Had the Zocalo Bowl and it was delicious! Fresh ingredients, generous portion and full of flavor. The service was outstanding! Love the local vibe. The ambiance is comfortable and clean. It was a quiet place and would be a great place to study/work but the lighting is terrible. Maybe little table lamps for evening dining. I'm sure it's great in the day time.

This is my first time at Galaxy Café. I was quite intrigued with their variety of offerings on their menu. I decided to try the galaxy bowl. I appreciated their choice of ingredients but think it wasn't as carefully crafted. The sweet potatoes had not been peeled, and the kale was served in quite a large piece that it was difficult to eat. The other ingredients were a little too overcooked. Everybody was pleasant and I appreciated the large dining room or option to sit outside. I will try it one more time to give it a fair shot.

Took forever. I ordered online I put in big bold letters to not use black pepper and the steak and salmon were covered in it. Way too Spicey They would have been good if not for that. The last few times I've eaten there and had an egg and a wrap there everything was spicy and full of pepper. Even the quiche didn't used to be is now spicy and full of pepper. People can add their own.

Great food at a reasonable price, which is hard to find these days. Only downside is there isn't enough seating which can cause backups because it can get crowded quickly.

I tried the bacon chicken Gluten Free sandwich. The sandwich was good and tasty. I did not know what to expect. The service was wonderful and helpful. The restaurant is quiet and a nice place to relax. I enjoyed my meal.

Just so happened to be in the neighborhood and was looking for a place to eat and found a Galaxy Café. I had the Galaxy Fish Wrap with a side of fruit. I am so glad I got to taste this amazing wrap. I don't think there is any other wrap that can compare to this wrap. The fish was fresh and the batter was crispy and the cabbage slaw complemented it perfectly. I had it on a spinach wrap. I don't think that changes the flavor much but it made it look a little bit prettier. The fruit was pretty cool as it was not your regular fruit cup. I don't live in Austin so I won't be here often. I did say I wish they had one closer to me. I definitely would love to go back and try all of their dishes. For some reason, I got the feeling that their coffee is amazing as I saw a lot of people getting it with their lunch. The dining area was really nice and comfortable and there were all sorts of people having lunch there.

Got food to-go from Galaxy Cafe upon a recommendation from my boyfriend, who has a gluten sensitivity and often orders from there because of their GF options. I got the Grilled Chicken Chipotle Wrap (in a spinach can wrap) with a side of mac and cheese. The chicken had a super nice smoky taste to it and the wrap had excellent flavors, seemed healthy and filling at the same time. The Mac and cheese wasn't phenomenal but hit the spot. I also tried some of my boyfriend's order of the whipped sweet potatoes and I don't know how I've gone this long without eating mashed sweet potato - it was very velvety and delicious! Since we had a carry out order, I can't comment on the overall ambiance of the cafe, but it's in a very unassuming strip mall without much going on on the outside. Nevertheless, I think the food is decent enough to pay a visit. Only reason I took a star off is I think it's a *bit* on the pricey side (nearly $16 for my wrap and side) but overall very impressed with the quality and taste of their food. Will be back!

Been going here since I was little. Great little spot, lots of memories, great atmosphere and the people are polite. Know the owners and are very fond of this cafe.

Super cute interior and welcoming team. Lots of parking! Food was delicious and came out fast! I got the featured bowl and a friend got a regular menu bowl and both were great!

Locally owned & operated, with an eye on sourcing fresh produce locally and serving hormone/antibiotic-free proteins. In short, a trusted dining companion, easy to swing in for counter service or take-out. I've recently rediscovered their Zocalo Buddha Bowl, reminiscent of a Southwestern salad but more wholesome with brown rice and beans as a base, much more filling. The homemade tomatillo and avocado dressing is light and tangy, making this bowl right for any time of day or season. I love their friendly staff, and consideration to serving many local products (Richard's Rainwater! Local brews!), alongside gluten-free options including *pastries.*

I got bad food poisoning after ordering food from Galaxy Cafe. The manager assured me this would be taken care of. After three weeks later and many follow-up calls, they can not do anything about it. The restaurant should have taken the steps to let me know how to follow-up instead of waiting until it's too late to receive a refund. Instead, they strung me along. Now, I'll report this to my credit card company.

Preferred over door dash while I was in town on a business trip. The food was really good, delivered hot and fresh, and in time. Will definitely come back if I'm ever in the Austin area.

Galaxy Cafe is one of those places where I'm guaranteed to get a quick tasty meal. It's not fine dining by any means and you have to line up to order but the food, especially the bowls, are healthy and if you have a thing for warm "salads" then you'll definitely love the Buddha bowls. I usually get the Galaxy Buddha Bowl because the kale is just warm enough to still be a little crunchy, which I love. My brother got the Bleu Cheese Bacon Burger, deconstructed (don't ask me why lol) and Sweet Potato Fries, which he loved. I tend to go here occasionally, for quick lunches, and see myself going back. I think it's one of those places where everyone should try at least once.

Seriously can't recommend this place enough! As someone with food allergies my options are very limited whenever I go out...if I even can eat anything at all. At Galaxy cafe I can have the majority of the menu! And truly, the combination of both quality and price can't be beat, especially for Austin!

I ordered the night before for an 11:00 am pickup the next day through the Yelp app using GrubHub and it was relatively simple to do! At around 9:40 am that morning, I received a call as the gluten free soy sauce they use for their gf Buddha Bowl sauce never arrived and they didn't have anything. Instead, they left me a tahini sauce and olive oil in the bag as a substitute, which I appreciated although I would have also loved having the regular sauce. Pickup was easy and everything was ready to go when I arrived - the only thing I recommend for them to change is automatically including silverware in the to-go bags or at least asking to ensure someone does/doesn't need any utensils when they pick up their food. I was heading to a picnic with a friend and while I had double checked to make sure I have utensils, she did not and we had to share mine. The food itself was pretty tasty and I especially appreciated having extra mushrooms, as requested. While I wasn't absolutely blown away by the food (although that could likely have been the sauce fiasco (I went with the tahini and it was good but not amazing!)), I would come back here again. I especially appreciated all of the labels on gluten free items which makes me feel a lot more confident in my food!

Breakfast bowl was great! Could have used a little pepper, but I'll admit I didn't use the salsa that came with it. Points for having a gluten-free menu! The galaxy iced coffee was well-made, good flavor. Perhaps could have used a little whipped cream? I will say that nothing was explained, there were a few odd choices as to how service worked. We were handed empty glasses and expected to work out what to do with them ourselves, and there was nothing but salt and pepper on the tables, no sugar, ketchup, etc. But the food was pretty good, and service very efficient! I'd definitely return if I were able, atmosphere was friendly and intimate.

We tried the special last week - the salmon tacos and WOW....they were superior. These are maybe the best salmon tacos in town. Great job Galaxy on Mesa and you have some new fans who will return!! Also the sweet potato fries are not greasy and super delicious. Bravo for healthy and wonderful food in the neighborhood.

We've only eaten the Buddha bowls at Galaxy Cafe and always to go. We've tried them all and they're all really good. Lots of nicely cooked ingredients. I lean towards the Roasted Veggie Buddha Bowl with salmon. It's a good sized salmon portion that is cooked nicely, not dry. The lemon tahini dressing is delicious. The bowls are huge. I sometimes eat half for dinner and save half for lunch the next day. The orders come out quickly. With the salmon, they end up costing $15-$20. Seems expensive but typical these days and worth it to us.

This location has chintzy service compared to the Brodie location. I ordered a gluten free burger and chocolate tarte to go. No utensils, ketchup, mustard or mayonnaise packets were included. We even tipped 20% on a to go order. Cheap. However their gluten free chocolate torte is to die for.

Pretty quick breakfast - no wait to order, and quick to get food out. Had the macchiato (Starbucks style) with caramel and chocolate and the French breakfast with ciabatta and fruit. Both were fresh and delicious.

Top quality food and staff!! My husband and I frequent this location atleast once a week because of the no hassle experience. The employees are always so kind and working hard serving food and keeping the restaurant clean. The food makes you leave feeling satisfied- super healthy, fresh ingredients. I've tried all the bowls and love them all, but had to take a pic of the power bowl with salmon (YUM)! We'll definitely be keeping this great little spot in our restaurant rotation.

Galaxy cafe is just around the corner from me so it's extremely convenient, especially with their new curbside setup. That being said, I don't know that I would frequent here much if it were not so convenient. While Galaxy offers many healthier options which I appreciate, many of their dishes are often bland or taste like something you could make at home. I do also feel their prices are a bit inflated. You can get similar dishes at Modern Market for less. If you're looking for healthy, convenient, reliable, and variety, this is the place. If you're looking for stellar dishes that stay on your mind for days after or a real bang for your buck.... keep looking.

This is the best restaurant i have ever eaten at. the grilled chimichurri steak is the best thing ive ever tasted. and the pesto alfredo is AMAZING!!!!

I don't normally leave reviews like this, but when it comes health matters I think it's best to share with everyone. I ordered a wrap with a side of fruit today. The fruit had mold growing on it...see attached picture. This isn't a simple mistake. It shows a lack of effort or care for what is being served. It could lead to someone getting sick. I will never be eating here again.

I am normally happy with Galaxy Cafe, but today was frustrating. When placing an online order at around 4:15, the app changed the pickup time I selected from 5:15 to ASAP on the screen before the final confirmation. But I noticed this before placing the order and changed it to 5:15 again. Then when the email confirmation showed up it said the food would be ready at 4:44! Arghhh! But behold, there was a number it said I could call... so I called it.... 27 times over the next 25 minutes and it was busy every time. So I gave up. When I picked up my cold food at 5:15 I spoke to the manager and he confirmed that the staff sometimes turns off the phone if they feel too busy. How is this a way to run a business?! Finally, I find this sneaky, but we've figured out they add something around 15% to the prices (as compared to the menu in the shop) if you order online without advising you of this or just making it a surcharge called out separately. All in all I'm pretty disappointed right now with what could otherwise be a neighborhood gem.

Galaxy has several locations in the city, this location in Northwest Hills is a great neighborhood cafe. They do not offer table service, but the ordering process is quick, friendly and efficient, and plenty of tables (inside and out) Normally have a couple of choices of great tasting iced tea. The sandwiches are full of meat and cheese and taste wonderful. Lots of choices,

Galaxy Café went totally downhill what a disappointment...got budha bowl all veggies were hard and kale was burnt to a crisp. And it was almost $40 for that and a grilled chicken sandwich! I swear ever since Covid everything's gone downhill and more expensive

This is a great spot for weekend brunches. Pretty laid back with over the counter and fast service. Their tables are 6ft apart so that's a plus. I was really fascinated by the way they serve their fruit cups. My fiancé loves their pancakes and recommends this place almost every Saturday. I have been there 3 times already. Food: 9/10 Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 7/10 Overall: 9/10

Food was good. There was no service to speak of. If I needed something I had to go get it for myself. The waiters/waitresses were either not in sight or were sitting at a table eating a meal.

This place is the best! They truly have anything when you're wanting to go out but don't have a specific craving. Also a wonderful healthy alternative without tasting bland. Convenient location and I've never had to wait for a table to open up. Very quick service and nice, friendly staff.

OMG! The roasted veggie Buddha bowl is soooooo gooooood! I will definitely be back to try other delicious things. Good portions, tastes fresh, and the rice is perfect with that lemon sauce.

I just had the BEST quiche in life. And it was delivered through DoorDash. Talk about flavor and crispy flaky crust. My mouth watered from the aroma. I also ordered a breakfast migas wrap and I don't even think I can touch it after the quiche. Do yourself a favor and browse the menu. I'm definitely going to be a return customer. Inexpensive and good delivery containers so nothing fell apart or out. Items still warm and delicious.

The food is great, staff is friendly, and seating is open. This has become me and my husband's brunch go-to because it's faster and less expensive than other popular brunch places but the food is just as good (if not better). We take our friends here when we get together.

Mornings can be rough, but a cup of joe and a personal mini French quiche from @GalaxyCafe set me up for success! Staff is always friendly - if there is a line it moves very quickly - and the mimosas are top notch! What more could you need from a cozy and dependable spot. Cheers!

The food is delicious here. I've only been once, but the Zocalo Buddha Bowl was scrumptious. I look forward to trying more of the menu when I'm in the area. I'm not kidding: these folks are onto something. It's obvious that they care a lot about what comes out of the kitchen.

Ordered the salad and turkey sand which. It was not great. It tasted like a sandwich you make at home without a lot of flavor and dry turkey.

I wish this cafe was out of this galaxy but it just wasn't. The food was good, service was good, and honestly, the whole experience was just- good. Something that turned me off is the amount of plastic waste this place uses for people dining in. Despite using silverware and the wait staff still bussing tables, they serve everything else in plastic containers. That makes no sense even covid wise because their staff isn't wearing gloves. So why all the waste? When I ordered a mimosa, I received it in a plastic kids meal cup. I don't think I've ever been served champagne in a plastic kids cup. It all just felt wasteful and cheap but I paid well over $60 for all of our drinks and meals. I'd like to maybe come back when Covid is over but until then I'm going to pass on plastic. If the food was impressive I'd order to go but it was just - good, on this planet okay, good.

A quiet little place to grab a bite to eat and wait out my daughter's art class. Today I got the Denver scramble, but I've also tried the Galaxy Bowl (good, but a little heavy on the black beans) and the Mediterranean Breakfast. Everything has been tasty, quick, and fresh, and there's never a crowd or a wait to order in the mornings.

I came in early yet they served me lunch anyway. The service was fast and the food was darned good. I had a Greek salad with grilled shrimp and would do it again! Fresh fresh fresh.
