The store was clean and fairly easy to navigate having never been here before. The staff were very friendly.

I felt they were really wonderful. Inside of their owner was very nice. They had a little bit of everything in there. You name it. You could probably find it. You’re very kind very helpful and just altogether a really great experience.

My mother's lived in MN for over a decade & has always had difficulty finding Puerto Rican ingredients around her, so when I said I was coming to visit, she asked that I bring as many items as I could. Instead I did some searching online & found this gem. Tons of fresh & frozen specialty items from taro root to bacalao, and the entire staff was friendly & welcoming. My mom is super excited to make all her favorite dishes now!

Great customer service ,lots of options, I stopped by for Jamaican ingredients and they had all , even scotch bonnet peppers🏁🗣️ Go shop there🗣️

Very nice people, very diverse, and really all sorts of amazing food, trinkets, cloths, and essential oils. I've been going to Galaxy Food International since I was a kid and I am never EVER disappointed with the beautiful selection they have. Overall I recommend this store to everyone.

As a Jamaican, I’m glad I found this place (glad bag buss ya now enuh!). This place has enough to enjoy home away from home. The price is decent and worth the trip if you looking for some authentic Jamaica and other foods. Definitely will be my go to place for now on!

This store is fantastic! My husband is from Antigua and he doesn't get the opportunity to eat a lot of West Indian cuisine in Minnesota. We come here a couple of times per year to stock up on beef patties, roti, curry spices, jerk seasoning, and salt fish. Between that, and the one or two times per year that we head to NY or FL to see his family, he has a happy tummy. :) Thank you so much for bringing a taste of home to our family in Minnesota!

Visiting from out of town. I was looking for seasonings that are not sold in my area. I found them. This store has lots to choose from. I checked online and I believe they ship.

My wife is from Jamaica and we go to this store for specialty items, oxtail, goat, seasoning. The food my cooks is amazing thank you Galaxy for your store and service always a pleasure to shop with you.

I don't know why it took me so long to actually find this place. As a Jamaican American living in Minneapolis I depended alot on my mom's care packages to send me homemade Jamaican food and goodies. Sometimes Amazon filled the gap. But after a while I had to put my big girl pants on. On my first trip to Galaxy, I brought a suitcase to pack all the things I wanted. This was both practical and efficient because I knew I would get enough stock for months. Quarterly visits works for me because that's just how I roll. I have to be smart with my time and I make sure to use it wisely. This store has almost everything to remind me of being in a full access Caribbean store. The only thing I recall they didn't have was the Wray and Nephew Rum. However, that was understandable. I got my essentials and felt happy about the extensive selection they have for everything else. Glad to have this store around!

I came here to explore what the store is all about. Wow everything about this place is great! I wouldn't expect to find Bollywood videos, religious artifcats and clothing here. I thought it was just a grocery store. They sell spices and products of West Indies/Caribbean. I enjoyed their fresh pastry and snacks sections. I got Cassava Pone made from Yucca and it is super good. It is popular too! I highly recommend getting one of those pastries. I was searching for Ginger Beer and ended up purchasing different kind of drinks as well. Their store is big and spacious. It a plus that is clean and organized. The staff is super nice and friendly. If you can't find what you are looking for they are very knowledgeable of their products. After all, It is a family business that's been running for 28 years strong. Parking is spacious and definitely worth the drive!

If you're a hot sauce aficionado like I am, you do NOT want to miss their own Galaxy hot sauce! Plain plastic bottle you could easily overlook but don't -- it packs QUITE a punch so sample it first. Great flavor and I only wish I'd brought more home as I live quite far from Minneapolis :-(. If I lived there, I'd be nominating this sauce for best hot sauce in the Twin Cities, it's that good.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I ventured into Richfield to go to the 'largest Caribbean grocery store in the Midwest.' When I left, I knew I had found a fun place that I will definitely head back to. I went in search of Jamaican-style ginger beer and walked out with that, as well as many other varieties of Caribbean soft drinks. I also spent some time perusing the shelves to see what other hidden treasures Galaxy had to offer. I was stunned by the variety of spices, syrups, and other assorted ingredients that could be used to make amazing dishes. This place inspired so many meals that my mind was racing and my mouth was watering! I went in search of ginger beer, found what I was looking for, and will definitely head back to purchase many more goodies for future drinks and meals! p.s. Great customer service! Hands-on and helpful, but not overbearing.

I checked out this place today. There is a large selection of spices and I even found canned lychees and strawberry yogurt flavored chocolate bars. The clothing is really pretty but I didn't bring enough money to buy an outfit. I'd give 5 stars but there was a strange smell that the incense didn't mask well in the back corner near the meat and soda pop cooler.

If you're from the Caribbean and you're missing the taste of home ? Galaxy would be the perfect place to go for all the spices to make your dish as tasty as you were hoping for, and if you're not, it doesn't hurt to try new things. They have a clothing section, they ship barrels to different countries, have a wide selection of Indian movies and many more!! Totally recommend it! Oh and before I forget, since it's been really hot these days, you might want to cool down with their amazing drinks. You'll totally feel the island vibe when you're there!!

This is a good place to go to get idols and Bollywood movies. They have a large selection of both.

If you're looking for a truly unique and exotic, yet warm and welcoming taste of the Caribbean, you should pay a visit to Galaxy Food & Video. From phenomenally tasty and original Caribbean food brands and food products to both classic and contemporary Bollywood movies - This store has a little bit of everything for everyone. Now, I have to admit that I'm not West Indian or from the Caribbean. However, I've been lucky to have experienced aspects of the West Indian culture (especially the food!) for many years and whether you're looking to cook pigeon peas and rice or gilbaka curry, these guys have it all. The fish, meat and produce are fresh. The brands are classically West Indian. But the best thing? The faces that you see when you walk in the store will always be friendly, welcoming, warm and attentive. This is a family run business which runs with a level of professional finesse that will leave you impressed and excited to come back all at the same time.

While I'm not from the Caribbean, I am from Africa and found Galaxy when I got a craving for some goat meat, a staple in the motherland. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and spacious the store was when I walked into Galaxy because most of the ethnic foods stores I've been to in the past have been very crowded and somewhat dingy. I was able to find some of the items that were my favorites growing up like Ribena, Milo etc., in addition to the goat meat that I had come for. The store was quite busy with a mix of customers from the Caribbean and Africa which is a testament to the great mix of merchandise available. Being a family run business, the service was excellent. You could tell that the owners had a great relationship with their customers (many of whom were regulars it seemed) and wanted to make sure everyone had a great experience. I will definitely be back next time I need a taste of home and would recommend this store to anyone.
