Nice spot for live music, but it's very dependent on the quality of the bands. Otherwise not cozy, pretty loud and while Irish themed, it's not Irish beyond the peanut butter jameson shots.

Went there for St. Patty's Day dinner and it was great. Been there before and it has a great little setting even when it's busy. Bangers and Mash was yum yum good. Shepard's Pie is usually pretty good as well. Great place to go for some good Irish food, drink, and song.

Eugene and his wife are the kindest of people. Great drinks and great service. Bartenders are on point and when you're ready to get your dancing shoes on this is the place to be on a weekend night.

The atmosphere once it warms up is fresh. Just caught one of the live bands here and i really enjoyed myself. No food here though but the barkeep's ok with bringing outside food.

So..... On Saturday 06/28/14 We got thrown out of this crappy place apparently for someone in our group smoking an E-cig. Not debating on if that someone that was with us should or shouldn't have done it, that is clearly understood. It was the manner and the treatment on how it happened not to mention that there were a few other people in there smoking their E-cigs. This was not my first time here, was actually there for my cousin's wedding celebration last October and had a blast. Also, Im a Redskins fan and I do frequent Winston's right around the corner that also has good reggae bands that play frequently. I can tell you this will certainly be my last time here. There is no way that a group of 20 people get thrown out minutes upon entering for whatever reason, not to mention the skinny security guard that should not even be security was literally trying to stand on our shoulders because he was such a light weight. Couldn't move anyone out of our group including the women. Get your weight up homie!! There are plenty of options in OB and this one has dropped to my last option/not even. Probably play reggae and drink at home before I drive to OB for this type of treatment. I feel embarrased that I even recommended that we go to this spot. This place is now a joke.

The best bar, at the coolest beach, in the finest city, in the greatest nation on planet Earth! NOT for Pacific Beach "bro's," or d-bag tourists who think they're owed a bj because they're visiting a city with a high cost of living. Sorry, Indiana, but $3.50 is actually a pretty fair price for a pint of beer :-) Honestly I'm surprised by the ratings here on Google- check out the reviews on Facebook- it's much more representative of people who actually frequent the place (4.8/5 stars after 37 reviews.)

Occasionally fumble a little with the home dj's but the live music is always on point. My favorite place to end my nights in OB on Friday or Saturdays.

Our experience was deplorable. TJ Majeske a bartender working at Gallagher's Irish Pub on Newport in Ocean Beach... and lives on Hornblend apt. #8 is harassing my wife and calling my wife's cell phone constantly and being obscene, issuing threats, calling and hanging up. San Diego Police Incident # 57182 ATT Wireless has put a "trap" on the phone line and recorded a few. Claire and Ron (bar managers), we'll be in touch about your employee's behavior, and whatever legal exposure he is making for the bar. TJ, you can bet both of your little balls that we'll be prosecuting you.
