In town just a few days for a wedding and stopped in here for a quick beer or 2 since it was a couple blocks from the Marriott. Sooo glad I did! Loved everything about it! Location is a bit tough (rebuilding downtown) but the building is cool (basement bar) and the vibe is incredibly welcoming. 🤗 Thanks for adding an extra bonus to our weekend.

Worth the trip down the stairs off the street to what appears to be a basement entrance to an old building. Old Friend Ale was a refreshing Minnesota pilsner. The vibe of the place is like a dive bar that isn't a dive bar. Cozy setting warm for winter. They have diet sodas as well as bar food made on site.

Just had the Space Ghost Belgian Wit beer and Copenhagen hot dog.... I am absolutely in love! This brewery is so fun to go to and the staff is so wonderful and attentive. It is my new favorite spot in Lowertown!

This was my first time coming to Gambit and we had a nice experience. It feels really cozy inside and they have a good selection of beer and seltzers. The only complaint I have is that they did not allow us to get any of the seltzers using our Hop Passport books. They had a ton of different fun seltzer options and we really would’ve liked to try a couple. I’ve also heard they have good pizza here, but we didn’t order any. Maybe next time!

A cozy corner of Lowertown St. Paul is a perfect place to stay warm with good beer and good cheer! I love the live music and DJ nights at Gambit, they pair well with an exciting variety of excellent beers. I'd suggest the Old Friend American Pilsner! If you're hungry they have homemade pizzas with exciting flavor combo to choose from!

Honestly we came here because I saw them in PubPass, I hadn't heard of them before, but we were very pleasantly surprised when we walked in! The vibe of the place is just great, it's got beautiful decor and we really liked the chill atmosphere. The beer was on point, we had a couple different kinds and liked both, and the staff was super friendly. We'll definitely be coming back for another couple drinks one of these days!

This brewery is a hidden gem! Every beer they make is unique and full of character-you can really taste the craftsmanship. The owners clearly takes pride in quality and it shows in the balance and flavor of each brew. The space itself is warm, relaxing, and fun-the perfect place to unwind with friends or enjoy a quiet pint. It’s small-batch brewing at its best, and the atmosphere makes you feel right at home.

Even though this spot is pretty unique being in the basement of a building, the inside had a very neat vibe to it. Lots of cool lighting, plenty of seating for both small and large groups as well as a bar top. The giant pretzel was incredible, super buttery and delicious with the beer cheese. Recommend! Unfortunately, I didn't love my beer choice, got the Space Ghost, but my husband did get the sour and thought it was very good. Parking is a little tricky, you can't park on fourth Street because of the light rail, but Jackson street has a few parking spots and there's plenty of parking ramps around the area as well. Great service, the staff behind the bar was very polite and friendly.

I was hungry during the vikings game and decided to try this place out cause my friend loves their pizza. I decided to get a hot dog and chips instead but it was delicious. Its a really cool place inside, chill, fun vibes and the staff was very friendly. I'm not a big beer fan but my buddy loves their beer. Next time I'll be trying the pizza.

If you're downtown for holiday adventures or you just find yourself in the neighborhood make sure to stop at Gambit brewing! They have a awesome staff and they have a Tasty selection of beers a little something for everybody. They also have seltzer cocktails. I personally like their selection of IPAs. Also right now their taproom is decked out for the holidays. They also have food, which I gonna try the next time I go.!

The Lowertown neighborhood of St Paul is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Gambit brewing is one of my favorite hidden gems in the city! They are small but I have always been able to grab a seat with no long wait time. They are small bartenders are always friendly and engaging . They have some really great seltzer cocktail and mocktail options plus a menu of pizzas and hot dogs. They often have live music and even an amateur comedy night. Truly a fun little brewery with something for everyone!

A great place to stop by for a drink, snack, and sometimes live music! It's a small space, so when there's live music, it can be tough to chat with friends. The seltzer options are so fun snd they have a good food menu. During my visit, there was 2 bartenders so you could get a drink pretty fast!

We tried out Gambit for the first time and first off loved the Cheers feel of walking down into a brewery. The beer was good and the service was ok. A great Sunday adventure!

Buckle up - I have TONS of great things to share about Gambit! We went to Gambit for a Tuesday night date night on a whim and it was the best decision! I am not a beer drinker, but they had tons of seltzers on tap and fun seltzer drinks! I got a banana seltzer and drinking it made me feel like I was on a beach somewhere. We shared a hot honey pizza and it was delicious! We were surprised to learn Tuesdays are free comedy nights! For about 2 hours we listened to local comedians work on bits followed by 2 longer sets from headliners. It was so fun! We also got some scratch off coupons for a new movie coming out before the raffle at the end of the night for those who bought food and drink. They gave away gift cards, a pack of Gambit beer to-go, and we won the raffle for free tickets to an upcoming comedy show! Highly recommend Gambit Brewing -- especially on Tuesdays!

Stop #39 on our 2024 Hundreds of Hops self-guided US Hop Passport Brewery Tour - an app add-on that isn't in the book. Redeem your discount on the app. We came in relatively late on a Saturday evening. As traffic was gone and parking was open, we decided to do a swing by on our way back to our hotel. The place was easy to find, with clear signage. A few steps down took us into this recently added stop, boasting a decor that embraced an era gone by. This vibe somehow worked, even with neon signs & the scent of pizza. The beer was good & the seltzer menu intriguing. We approach the bar seating, where there were 2 other patrons & it dawned on us why MN breweries fall short compared to MI - the lack of personality in the establishment staff. We watched as what I presume was a regular, based on seeking a particular brew that wasn't in the cooler, and his mention of them not giving him the opportunity to enter his number for the points system to the barkeep when getting his take home cans, was blown off with a shrug, as the barkeep resumed his banter with another patron/friend. It got us discussing, "if an establishment is disinterested in the regulars, where would new patrons fall?" Anywho, we scooted on out without staff acknowledging we were leaving, despite having to walk right by him. Just awkward overall.

We had a good experience at this brewery. We parked at the ramp and walked to find the bar, and surprised to see it right next building. The bar is in the lower level, the atmosphere is kind of retro. Has records hung by the entrance and vibrant colors on the beer tap. We noticed they also have a selection of hard cider as well. The beertender was nice to accommodate us with doing flights instead of the pint, I'm not a beer drinker but will try the samples. Pizza was kind of cooked too long, but still tasty. We ordered the Lowertown hot honey. DJ playing all the good songs in the corner.

One of the reason my girlfriend and I like walking in the city, is finding these small spots. We stumbled upon Gambit be accident after leaving the ice bar at the Union Depot. I saw a bunch of people moving around, so her and I walked up, so their offerings and wanted to try it. It was worth it! First off, the place is a total vibe! Like you're chilling in your best friends finished basement energy with drinks and food! The craft beer selections and seltzer creations are phenomenal! Their menu offered great quick food like flat breads, hot dogs, large pretzels, and fresh pizza. They have old school pinball machines, a live band, and tvs for watching sports. Our bartender Grace was super awesome! She had amazing energy, friendly, helpful, suggestive, and played some great old school R&B! Overall, we will DEFINITELY be back and I hope this place gets the attention it deserves! It's a little hidden in downtown SaintPaul, but it's a worth it find!! - Anthony

I stopped in for a pre-dinner drink and was pleasantly surprised. Gambit felt like a hidden gem that I was glad to find. We enjoyed the drinks but unfortunately didn't have any food. The pizza looked delicious, so I'm looking forward to returning and trying it out. As someone who sometimes works from home, it's definitely a place I would bring my laptop for lunch and enjoy a drink and the vibe as I finish up my day.

If you are looking for a laid back local brewery with decent food options this is your place. I live in the area and its so hard to find good food and entertainment at times however, Gambit helps solve that a little. They do their best by having comedy shows, trivia nights and broadcasting sports. The pizza there is very good especially the Del Piero Pesto..going to go back to try the new fig pizza. The service/staff are friendly and helpful although there is usually only one person working. The beer is pretty good with an abundant selection of beers to cover a multitude of preferences. I will say parking can be a but of a challenge in particular because its DT Saint Paul and with all the pointless tearing up of the streets every month, makes it very difficult to park so uber or lyft or if you feel safe...light rail . Keep in mind its DT Saint Paul and at times our displaced population can be a deterrent factor. Overall for the price point and location I would say this is a must visit for good pizza and beer..would give 5 stars if it wasnt for the parking.

Being part of the MN Homebrewers Association is a blast. From sharing tips and tricks of homebrewing, to hanging with some amazing community members. Our most recent event took us to the newly opened Gambit Brewery. This brewery opened up at the beginning of 2023 in the old 12welve eyes space. They are creating brews from Italian Pils to Sours to Kentucky Commons. They are using their experience at Bobtown Brewing in downtown St. Paul to quench the thirst of Minnesotans. After getting a tour of the facility I enjoyed three brews. Backwoods Lullaby: A Kentucky Common Ale that is light in body with great clarity. An amber color with some fruity notes and a mild bread malt flavor. Ends crisp with some bitterness, but balance is to the sweet maone. Disco Pony: A Cold IPA that is ready to make both lager and IPA lovers alike happy. Crisp and clean with some light citrus and spicy flavors from the hop, but restrained through usage of colder temperature in fermentation. Afterhours Barista: A Blonde Ale with coffee additions to make a beer that tastes like a blonde roast beer! Coffee roast flavors, doughy malt, and a honey sweetness. Really enjoyed this one. ___________

First time checking out Gambit Brewing Company and I was not disappointed. They have several beers on tap that are brewed on site as well as a choice of seltzers. I got a pina colada berliner which was delicious! I could actually taste the notes of pineapple and coconut - it was light and an easy drinker. I also got the after hours barista which is a blonde coffee ale. This was smooth and drinkable as well with a great coffee taste! They also have some snacks and pizzas on hand including cheese curds, cookies, and pizzas. We got some cheese curds to snack on and enjoyed our time here! Would love to come back!

Last night was only my third stop in to Gambit since their soft opening a few months ago when I was the first person in so I carry the title w pride as First Paying Customer Ever!! My first stop in I tried to work my way through the tap list, including a few cocktails....even trying an IPA, I didn't have anything I wouldn't order again. Always a tell tale sign that I'm going to like this brewery and likely everything and everyone associated w it. I chatted up the lovely Manager Mike as we had previously met at another brewery. Brewer Josh would pop in/out so I got to have words w him as well and that always clinches it for me.... when you learn that the brewer is also just a lovely human, I automatically like the place even more. All of the beertenders I have encountered have been friendly and knowledgeable. Alright so we have delicious beer and delightful humans running the joint. I like the tap room set up, a lot of room and tables kind of separated out, not so close that the neighboring tables conversation will drown out yours. The space is open and you can see around the open bar. I never remember to not eat before heading out to a brewery so I didn't indulge in their savory sounding pizzas! The bathrooms are just outside the tap room, not far at all. Ask a beertneder for the door code or the fob to gain access. There are a few shelves of games under the menu board near the NE corner. Not that I watch them but I like that there are several tv's throughout. There is also a comfy little seating area w a couple couches and there are a few comfy, living-room-esque chairs about. Parking can be a bit murky... IF you don't just park in the ramp, as there are only a few spots on 4th, Jackson is where the light rail runs, and 5th is an unloading street, so just save yourself time and pull in to the 4th St ramp. Gambit is such a gem of a place w the delicious beer, awesome owners and staff, they have food, and Thursday's are Vinyl Night when a fellow comes in to spin records. Last night, Saturday, I showed up for a live musician.....wow, does live music sound great in their space. Wherever you call home, Gambit in Lowertown is worth the drive, stop in and be delighted. Although my visits have been few Gambit has proven they consistently have delicious beers and delightful humans running things! I can ask for nothing more, when my palate and my spirit are satisfied, cheers!

This place is a hidden gem and I highly recommend it. Incredible vibes and incredible beer. Feels super cozy and always had great music with a super vibey DJ set up. Gob get some beers here and then check out the sights at the Depot, or jump back on the light rail. These guys are the best of St Paul brewing !!

Gambit brewing opened up in the location of an old brewery, and they are doing great! They are brand new, and already super busy. They have a wide selection of beer and seltzer cocktails on tap. Love the ambiance. Great place to watch the game- several TVs on. Comfy and plentiful seating throughout. Go check it out!

Gambit Brewing opened up in the old 12welve Eyes brewing space in the basement of a residental building. There beers are great for a brand new spot and they have a wide selection available. They also have some great snacks including a cheese ball! I really enjoyed the Insiderman IPA and their Blackberry/Vanilla sour. Parking on Robert is easy to find after 5pm. I can't wait to visit again to see their new beers!

Had a great beer here and even better pizza. Note that the cheese curds are fresh, not fried. Good curds but just know what to expect. Good ambiance, there was a unique old movie playing on one of the tvs, but the baseball game was in others. I'm sure it could be changed though.

Last time I was in this space it was a different brewery and the beer this time around was MUCH better. Had a couple of nice citrusy IPAs that I'd be happy to try again. There are some snack options (has the dill curds, they were okay, the tavern cookie was delicious). The space is neat, walk down to the space. I wish there was some "bigger" or higher ABV options. Overall it was a positive experience and I'll be happy to return.

Good brews, nice staff with good service, great atmosphere. Small local joint. Food is overpriced for both the quality and portion.

The wings were hard and dry - lacking flavor. It was like chewing on cardboard with a weak sauce. The beer selection didn't impress either; my choice tasted flat and uninspired. Overall, not the vibe I was hoping for.

The drinks were not bad. However the wait staff was arrogant. The bartender behind the bar was more interested in chatting it up with other patrons/acquaintances then help new patrons. The bar was not busy, but the bartender was more interested in chatting it up than help the man at the bar. Just because he raised his voice to get the bartenders attention, does not constitute the bartender kicking him out. I should have know something was amiss when there weren't that many people in the bar on St. Pauls St. Patrick's day. We left when the bartender kicked the patron out for trying to get his attention. Talk about rude. Instead of apologizing he just kicked him out.

Phenomenal beer and seltzers! Friendly and knowledgeable staff! Cozy spot to hang with friends! A must visit brewery!!!

We came in within an hour of closing for the night (8pm on a Sunday) and did not feel rushed at all. Great beer and a good place to try!! Beertender gave us a sample of something we were thinking about trying for no charge. Great place to check out!!!
