Sonoma and Napa Private Wine Tasting Experiences

"Tom Gamble farms roughly 175 acres across Oakville, Mt. Veeder, Rutherford, and Yountville and produces classic Bordeaux-varietal wines that marry Old World structure with New World hedonism; the Gamble winery and tasting room sit in Oakville, tucked away from Highway 29. The experience is casual and down-to-earth in an elegant setting — you might meet Koa, the four-legged staff member, and often Tom himself — and the wines demand attention. Tip: if you want a deep lesson in agricultural heritage and unique Napa growing pockets, ask Tom about their Sauvignon Blanc aged 20 months in French oak and how the valley-floor location shapes its Old World traits." - Jonathan Cristaldi

Winemaker Spotlight: Jim Close, Gamble Family Vineyards

"The Gamble family has been farming land in Napa Valley since 1916. Third-generation Tom Gamble was the first in the family to plant vineyards and grow grapes; today he has estate vineyards in Oakville, Mt. Veeder, Rutherford and Yountville. In 2005, after growing and selling his own grapes for two decades, Tom founded Gamble Family Vineyards, finally ready to bottle his own wines." - Erin Brooks

Used to love this Winery and the wine. Recently they completely changed direction and brought on a new winemaker and the quality has gone downhill while the prices have gone up. Unfortunately this no longer makes this an attractive option for Napa Valley. Very sad as it used to be one of my favorites.

Realty loved this place. Got in here from a local who knew a friend. So glad we made it here. I knew we were in for a treat when at another winery the day before, when the owner asked where we were going and we mentioned this and he had a nice easy smile run over his face. Simple and elegant the presentation was perfect. Very tight schedule so put your requests in early. Kristen took care of us and made us feel if we had all afternoon if we wanted to. The Tasting room was just mix in comfortable and elegant.

The ultimate authentic Napa Valley experience. Gracious hospitality. Classic wines with finesse and balance - not inexpensive but indeed a hidden gem. The proprietor Tom Gamble is likely to pop in to say hello. There’s no sign on Highway 29, so just look for the red mailbox for the road to a step back in time to the way Napa used to be. Appointment advised but it’s not their style to turn away guests so give them a try.

This in incredible experience. The tasting room is beautiful and a hidden gem. Our tasting guide, Eliza, was incredible. She was friendly, and incredibly knowledgably about the wine. She answered all of our questions and provided many tips about visiting Napa. This is a must visit winery in Napa. Eliza is an asset to the team at Gamble!

Fantastic wines and staff! The owner, Tom, is so personable and passionate about his wines and his beautiful family property. Perks include staying at the beautiful guest house with the purchase of a certain amount of cases. The wine experience is very educational, relaxing, and a must while visiting Wine Country. The somm, Ashley, or any of the other great staff members will make your experience special. My favorite wines are the G Thomas, Mary Ann, and The Family Home. Can’t wait to visit again!

Ashley was one of the most enjoyable hosts we have experienced. Thank you so very much. PS you are not obliged to purchase 2 cases.
