The food at Gamboa may be acceptable in terms of taste and price, but the customer service is an absolute disaster. They have a terrible inventory system and a complete inability to solve problems.
Here’s what happened: on the first day, I was patient when they got my order wrong despite assuring me they had the item. But the next day, when they supposedly had plenty of stock, I still had to wait 20 minutes only for an employee to come out and tell me that, once again, they had sold my cinnamon roll to someone else by mistake. What’s worse, they forced me to accept a “solution” I neither requested nor agreed to, which violates Article 49 of Law 45 of 2007 on Consumer Protection in Panama. This law clearly states that “every consumer has the right to receive the product or service as offered, advertised, or agreed.”
I will be filing a formal complaint because some things go beyond simply letting them slide—especially when a customer who ordered and paid after me, standing right behind me in line, still received the exact product I had ordered and paid for first.
On top of that, orders always arrive late, and you have to constantly follow up with the staff to find out when your food will be ready—most of the time, they don’t even seem to know what’s going on. I understand the place can get busy, but that’s exactly why staff should be trained and operations should be organized. Overall, I won’t be coming back. It’s unacceptable for a customer to go through this two days in a row. The entire experience is ruined, and it’s clear they have no idea how to manage expectations or deliver basic service
